The entire staff at Cynergy bike shop is hands down the most awesome and they are very knowledgeable about not only the E mountain bikes but also how to fit a bike properly as part of the program,which simply was the best bike buying experience ever. I've been riding for over 35 years solid and this experience has been great! The Specialized E bike program is beyond awesome! It makes it affordable and simple to truly get the bike of your dreams from a solid company like Specialized I personally wont hesitate to drive over 2 hours to receive the kind of customer care at Cynergy because it's definitely worth the drive, I leave there smiling like a kid every time, I even got my wife an E bike a week later because it has been such an awesome experience! The rides on the e bikes are not only great excerise but now we have something that we live to enjoy together and it's a great experience being that the e bikes keep us equally powerful on a trail ride despite how difficult the climb may be, the e mountain bikes take riding to a whole different world! I can't say enough great things about the entire team at the Specialized Santa Monica store! My partner surprised me with my very first road bike, a Specialized Allez Shimano CUES, and as someone who is completely new to road cycling, I had A LOT of questions. From the moment I walked in, the entire staff was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely excited to help. They took the time to answer all my questions, explain everything without ever making me feel like a beginner, and gave me some great recommendations for bike paths and places to ride. Francisco, Sara, Marcos, Justin, Alan, you guys are AMAZING! (Sorry to the ones I didn't mention as I didn't catch your names) The customer service was truly top-notch, and you made what could have been an overwhelming first road bike experience one that I'll always remember. Definitely the best bike shop around, with a great selection and just great people. There's absolutely no pressure, and they care much more about getting you on the right bike than whatever model they are trying to unload. Once you get it, Steve or Ron will do a great job fitting you -- really taking the time to make sure everything is just right so you'll enjoy your bike. Part of that is Bella Velocita, the group associated with the shop. Steve is always out there entertaining all of us with really bad jokes, singing bad 80's songs, just whatever it takes to keep us going. He makes folks of all levels feel very, very welcome, and helps you get into biking and then move up to the next level. Overall people like Steve just make the place very inviting -- it's cool to hang out after rides, just say hi to everyone who actually remembers you name, and see what other new stuff you need. If they just had a coffee bar there, I don't think I'd ever leave. Bottom line is that if you're looking for a bike, thinking about a bike, or just want to meet some great bike geeks, this is definitely the place for you. read more

The sales people are nice, but someone in the service department was rather rude to me. My bike has been there for quite a long time for a somewhat simple repair and I have had to repeatedly call and stop by for updates. I don't know if they've even really looked at my bike yet. I do understand that it's likely a bit annoying that I have stopped by multiple times and asked for updates, but when it is approx 2.5 weeks after the bike due date and there's radio silence on progress, it seems as if the only way to try to get this done is by stopping by to nudge them forward. At the beginning of this Yelp review, I had mentioned that a service person was rather rude to me. I was basically told to leave and not come back until they text me that the bike is completed and I was told that it is unknown when my bike will finally be finished. Very disappointing. Very poor customer service. I just got a bad feeling after being told off in a rather rude way. I will be back towards the end of the week to pick my bike up and bring it to another bike shop. read more

This is an outstanding store in all regards. The store is beautiful and the selection of merchandise is with out comparison in the industry. There is a wide selection of merchandise at virtually all price points and the merchandise is easy and fun to shop. The store professionals are some of the best I've seen in any store, and they stand out even more when you compare them to the folks behind the counter in a typical bike store. The team that helped me was extremely knowledgable, but perhaps of equal importance was the fact that they were incredibly plesant to work with. Zero intimidation factor, and as a bike novice (buying above my ability), I felt no reservations asking all of my questions. Aaron is simply the best mechanic anyone could ever hope for. I am amazed at the time he takes to make sure everything works perfect. And I mean perfect. Riding home my brakes worked better than they every have. When you ride a heavy 42 pound trike, with 25 extra pounds of battery and motor and add another 10 for all the needed tools for the road and brakes just might be they most important part on the trike. But no matter the importance, Aaron will make sure you never need to come back for a repair not done correctly. The store is clean and everyone is very friendly. The shelves are all stocked so every customer can buy what they need when they come in. Overall a perfect experience today. read more

I am not a die hard biker, but am just starting to train for a triathlon. I shipped my bike down here and had them put it back together and give it a tune up. They had it ready to go on time, helped me find a reasonably priced tire pump, showed me how to use it properly and then helped me load my bike onto the bike rack on my car while showing me how to check to make sure the rack is secure after you've got the bike on. I really appreciated the extra help they gave me. They were happy to answer any questions I had and never made me feel stupid. Over all, they had great customer service. read more

These guys live bikes. An awesome shop and bicycle experience. And as other people wrote in their reviews, they DON'T just carry Specialized. For example they carry Yeti mountain bikes and BMC road bikes. I ride road, DJ and mountain and this is one dangerous place to walk into with all the inventory they have. Its like a giant candy store for bike stuff. They always have the cutting edge parts and bikes. And all the service stuff I don't do, I have Diego handle in their shop. I always learn something new from the service guys. I go there. I send my friends there. They will help you. read more

I was there about a month ago to visit the store for the first time, but I felt like an ET there. Sellers keep staring you all the time and seem to think you're going to steal something. I couldn't find the bike I want, so I just ended purchasing some folding tires for my Tarmac - that was purchased at PV Bike Shop, a way better Specialized bike shop in Palos Verdes. I paid in cash, and the guy used the "anti fraud pen" on my $20 bills, that was silly! There are no second "first impressions", so I don't expect to visit that shop anytime soon. read more

Diego is THE best mechanic ever! Not only is he knowledgeable and helpful but he always makes time to make sure you are safe. Not only that, but his hands and his tools are clean! AND he doesn't only work on Specialized or typical bikes. He has helped my husband and me with our ElliptiGos, our Recumbents, our Recumbent Trikes and our CatTrikes! He is talented and non judgmental! After he's done, our gears shift "like butter" and our brakes stop on a dime. He makes you feel safe and secure. read more

I am newer to cycling and was having trouble installing cleats on my shoes for my Bowflex bike. This is by far the best bike shop I have ever been into. The atmosphere and layout are amazing, what a nice change. I have been in several times and the staff is very helpful. I didn't know much and they graciosly spent a lot of time with me until I got what I needed. I got setup on a new specialized Roubaix and absolutely love it. Mechanic Mike PUTERBAUGH is the best! I had an emergency: a cracked frame and the Fireflies West SF to LA ride departing in 12 hours. Mike stayed til almost 10pm, sttripped my old frame and rebuilt the new BMC like the pro he is, & solved a few big problems along the way. Great job: the guys at Cynergy saved my bacon. Since I am a hard core cyclist of many years experience I feel qualified to call this the Best Bicycle Store in Los Angeles. My particular praise goes to the service department headed by Diego. This store is an high end bike store which carry specialized brand bikes and stuff. Staff are friendly and would answer you all the questions you ask. They are knowledgeable in terms of cycling. If you have the big bucks to spend and more serious about cycling, then this is the place to be. They have a big parking lot which you could test ride different bikes. read more

I'd read about poor service and high cost at Cynergy but my experience couldn't be further from that. I had a consistent issue with chain slip and after doing some initial repair work, the problem kept returning. Michael in the repair dept. persisted and worked on the bike twice for free until they got the problem sorted. Definitely impressed! read more
