I bought a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator. I had the option of getting next day delivery from Best Buy or two weeks from Specialty Appliances. I chose SA for the support. I actually took a week to get delivery. When delivered, the delivery people noticed two slight marks on the door and immediately ordered replacement doors. This is a level of service I have never received before. SA may be slightly more expensive than the big box stores, but the service is second to none. Also I agree with the other reviewers: Kevin is a fantastic salesman and really knows his products. read more

After struggling with failing appliances, both washer and dryer, since last summer, I finally purchased replacements. I have looked at nearly every model available, from basic to high tech, from discount stores to independent appliance centers. The lack of knowledge about the merchandise at most places has been shocking. I worked most of my career in various retail positions, both sales and management, and know the importance of understanding the product. I did a lot of research online and called several manufacturers directly to get details. Part of the problem is that the models have been changing dramatically over the last few years, and many do not serve my needs. At this store, I finally found the most knowledgeable sales staff who truly understood my requirements and found it in the data on the brands they carry. Since I needed such specialized equipment, I guess it does make sense to go to "Specialty Appliance" for they are true to their name. They lines they carry are generally at the highest end of the market, but there are models in their lines that suit more modest priced needs like mine. I don't have the appliances yet, so I can only hope that they are as good and as customizable in performance as claimed by the manufacturers. I even called customer service at the manufacturer to verify the cycle option settings. I will update once they are installed but for the sales portion of the experience, this has been very good, though, for me, a substantial drive to their location. read more

25FEB2019 Twenty days after our dishwasher died, our Kenmore (made by LG) washer died. The appliance repair people (who fix LG machines) said: buy a new washer. So, off we went to SA again. Decided to buy both a new Miele washer and dryer. The washer because we needed one and the dryer because it will be ventless. 05FEB2019 Our Bosch dishwasher died yesterday morning. Had to make the repair/replace decision and we decided to replace. Off to SA we went to have a hour+ conversation with Kevin Duncan. He was most helpful in the selection process between Miele and Bosch. We looked at catalogs. We looked at different floor models. Husband and wife are both nerds when it comes to this type of purchase and we definitely put Kevin to work in discussing minutiae. I had probably done at least 3 hours of InnerTubes® research before embarking on our journey north. One of the things I really like about SA is that "delivery" includes: removal, delivery, installation, most parts. The installation crews work for them and are not sub-contractors. And, when there is problem, it gets fixed quickly. P.S. You are not going to the lowest price. But, you will sleep peacefully at night. Your choice. read more

May be because we weren't "big spenders"!?!? For us we spent a lot of money. We had an absolute dud as a sales person. We really felt like he could care less. Wanted to share our great experience with Kevin Duncan at S.A. He has tons of product knowledge on all types of appliances but more importantly, when our kitchen remodel went a little sideways ( not any fault of S.A. ) Kevin worked extra hard to make sure the product we bought from him got delivered and installed as quickly as possible. Our cabinet install had some mistakes which affected the flooring install which prohibited the scheduled delivery of our appliances. All of this was again no fault of S.A. yet Kevin was great and worked extra hard to make sure our appliances would get to us much faster then what might have been. We have been eating out of coolers and trying to find a new refrigerator that would fit in the very small space of our older condo. He called yesterday afternoon, we bought it over the phone and MIRACLE!! it arrived early this morning less than 24 hours after our first conversation with Brandon! My dryer unexpectedly stopped working and while it was only a few years old, the repairman indicated that the parts would not be available for 3 months. I had relatives coming in the next day who were staying with me for a month and clearly needed a dryer ASAP. Called Specialty Appliance at 5:20 not realizing they closed at 5:30. Spoke to Izzy who assisted me and i brought the dryer by 5:35pm and it was delivered 2 days later. It took me longer to get a repairman out then it did to find, buy and have installed the new dryer. He took the time to show me my options, provided information regarding the benefits and differences of the brands I was interested in and professionally facilitated my purchase. He got me my stove within the eta he quoted, and worked with me to understand what needed to be done to make sure the installation was done properly. The installers were fabulous and I was impressed with their attention to detail. Shane facilitated getting some additional oven racks for me and although there was a challenge with Covid getting them in on a timely fashion, once they arrived he personally came to my home and showed me how to install them and remove them. His prices were average. Would take days (even longer sometimes) to get back to me. Then I realized that I wasn't stuck with them all of my appliances. Our architect/friend recommended that we go see Leon Davenport at Specialty Appliance for the appliances we need for our kitchen remodel. Leon was very helpful and knowledgeable. He scheduled time for us and did not rush us through the process of choosing our refrigerator (Sub-Zero), cooktop (Wolf), vent hood (Xepher) and wall ovens (Meile). SA has a very good selection of appliances to "fondle" and Leon did an excellent job answering all of our questions. He followed up the next morning with a detailed quote. Kevin was a wonderful salesman and even beat the price of the other store when we decided to purchase. This review is for Specialty Appliance but even moreso it's about Kevin and Bajro. These two guys. What can I say. To the owners - DO NOT LET THESE TWO GO! We had a delivery scheduled for our new fridge - it was to be done between 4:30 and 6 pm. At 4:20 the phone range. Kevin informed me that they were about 30 minutes away to give me a heads up. So far, so good. They arrived within 30 minutes. Backed the truck into the driveway, came in and assessed the situation with our old fridge. While they are willing to remove the old appliance and take it away for free, our old fridge was still serviceable so we wanted it moved to the garage to be used as an overflow fridge/freezer. No problem at all they said. Concerned about the width of both appliances versus the narrow openings between rooms they announced that if necessary they could take either or both apart and reassemble them. After CAREFUL measuring of the appliance and door openings Kevin determined that they could move them through the opening between dining room and kitchen. The placed the old model on the dolly after informing us of any items that should be removed before moving. They oh so carefully maneuvered the fridge into the dining room, through the living room, out the front door and into it's new garage home. Now for the new fridge. A few minutes passed and the guys called us outside. They had discovered a scratch in one of the doors and wanted to know what we wanted to do. It was a small narrow scratch about 1 1/2 inches long and would end up being behind one of the top door handles. Our options: Install the fridge today and wait for a replacement door to be delivered and installed in the near future, or take the fridge away and get a complete replacement. Since the scratch was so small and behind a handle (you can see it but only from the side and only if you're looking for it), we decided to have the fridge installed and switch the door out later. They called the issue in to the office and started the process of getting a replacement door. While they were loading the fridge on the dolly I was cleaning some of the shelves from the old fridge in the kitchen sink. Before they brought in the new fridge one of the guys stopped me and pointed to a bunch of water on the floor where the old fridge was. It took us only a few seconds to see that the water was coming out of the water line that connected to the old fridge and would be reconnected to the new fridge. I turned the water on in the sink and sure enough, water poured out of that line. We cleaned up all the water and decided we needed to get a plumber out because that wasn't right! Even HOT water was coming through that line! Next, they OH SO CAREFULLY maneuvered the new model into place. It was a bit more tricky because the new one is a little wider and taller. But they got it in place without touching a wall or another appliance or a cabinet. Real professionals who have a lot of experience is what I observed! They leveled the fridge and showed us some of the things we should do in addition to reading the short user manual. Then they cleaned up the smudge marks on the outside of the fridge and asked us if we had any questions or concerns and told us that we'd be contacted about an appointment for replacing the door. These two guys were pros from the get go. It was really a white glove delivery and install. We have bought several appliances from Specialty. The delivery and set up is amazing and Kevin and Bajro are two of the best in the business. They guys told us that they love what they do and they love the company they work for. If all business took heed of the way Specialty trains and treats their employees, there'd be a lot more Kevins and Bajros in the world. Well done Specialty and well done Kevin and Bajro! read more

Kevin replied promptly to my request with the info and later, when I stopped communicating he checked in and that prompted me to go ahead and get the project going. My mom and I went in to speciality appliance on a Friday. We were greeted by a very friendly sales person named Melissa who was super knowledgable and helpful. We had restrictions due to her unique kitchen needs and were prepared to buy an oven, microwave, dishwasher and stove top. We also expressed that we were ready to buy and in a hurry. Melissa promised that we would get a quote same day or at the very latest the next day. Unfortunately, they were super busy and Melissa was unable to get us a quote until Monday with no updates or anything. Sadly, my mom shopped around and found other alternatives with Lowes. Specialty Appliance offers higher end products and great knowledge but today, they lost out on 4 appliances because they simply didn't follow up. I was prepared to buy a Wolf stove from Lindsay but seeing as they treated my mom so poorly, I'll also be looking elsewhere too. I'm not sure why we were ignored and put off... But any reason given won't make the lack of follow through acceptable. Such a shame. read more

We are ready to purchase a front loading washer and dryer and just left Specialty Appliance as I had purchased a dishwasher from them a few years ago. I'm in sales myself and am in utter disbelief over our experience this afternoon. Will never return here again. The entrance bell rang as we walked in and there was no one at front desk. Actually the store was empty of both shoppers and employees but we could hear voices in the back office. We made our way to the back of the store where the washers and dryers were located and checked out the inventory while waiting for someone to show up to assist. No one appeared but we could still hear folks talking in back office. We made our way back to front of store and looked for a buzzer or some kind of device to signal that we needed assistance and found none so we opened the door again to trigger the store bell. When no one came we repeated the door opening a third time. Finally a young man appeared from the back to ask if we needed help...what?! When we responded that we did and we were looking at a washer and dryer set he asked if we'd been to the store before and who we worked with. She was supposedly in the back and he would get her for us. Again, we waited. Finally I had had enough and walked back to the entrance to the back office to notify him/them that we were done and were leaving. His nonchalant reply of, "Okay," was the icing on the cake. Worst customer experience ever. Went immediately over to Mountain High Appliance where we received the help we needed and purchased a $2,200 washer/dryer pair. read more

Very careful of my new wood floors, very professional, very polite and most of all they really cared that I was satisfied with my appliances and the installation. 11/16/16 Now we have a gas leak that did not exist before our "recent repair visit."....our ordeal is not over. I will update later. Update: The stove was returned this morning. After the gas leak we refused to have it in our home. We will have no GE Appliances and will never deal with Specialty Appliances again. AND they damaged my counter top taking that piece of crap out of here. Who Pays for that? Original Posting: We are having a horrible experience with Specialty Appliances in Louisville. They sold us a defective GE Cafe Range and are refusing to help us get an exchange. "It's not their policy" and we have to negotiate with GE for a refund or replacement. If we had bought this from Lowe's they would be supporting us to get an exchange. I will never shop at SA again and cannot recommend it under any circumstances. When you sell a product you need to stand behind it and support your customers. Now I have no functioning stove for Thanksgiving and my Holiday is ruined. 11/15/2016 I do have an update. SA did respond somewhat to my bad review. But I have the following to add after the GE Repairman looked more closely into the SA installation. This is the message I sent to SA: "The GE Repair man just left. The problem was caused by a careless installation. The Connector that your installers brought and attached had a blockage that they did not check out. Fortunately the repairman found it before he had dismantled the stove. It was not our plumber and it was not GE it was YOUR SA installers who were careless! Also GE is sending me a new burner to replaced the chewed up one that came with the stove. He said he just wanted me to be happy with GE. I will be adding this incompetence and your salesman's rudeness to my Yelp Review. When I had spoken with your salesman Mike, he was extremely rude and dismissive. He refused to discuss anything and was the person that basically said it was not your policy to help with this. And that he would have to discuss it with my husband. How patronizing! I am an engineer at a tech firm, not the stupid little lady at home........You can deal with me in a respectful manner or not at all!" This is the entire message I sent to SA today. read more

She was extremely knowledgeable and super nice. The showroom is very clean and organized and was easy to get around and find what we were looking for. It was really really great having people who knew what they were doing come up to the mountains and install them! Jose and Jesus came up 40 minutes earlier than they had said they would be here. Mike Z consulted with us to help us match our list of features we were looking for in our new refrigerator, dishwasher, dual fuel range and range hood within our budget. He was not only knowledgeable about each of the various brands, their features and ratings, he didn't try to push us into something we didn't want or "over sell" us to more expensive appliances. What's more, their Boulder showroom actually has on display most models and versions of the brands they sell. It was refreshing to see, feel and touch the actual appliances rather than trying to make our choices virtually. Mike Z quickly and eagerly price-matched our other quote and is even sending out an installer in advance to make sure the range hood we want will work in our specific space. I am looking to replace my kitchen appliances and went to SA. There are NO prices on any of the appliances. I never like this because you wonder what the reason would be for that? Prices vary by customer? Prices vary by sales assistant? Anyway, I asked for prices on three ranges. The person I was working with knew no prices and had to go into the back office to look them up. Since she was doing that, I asked if she could also print out details for them. Fifteen minutes passed and no other person asked if I needed further help, if I would like a tea or something ( there were 2 people eating their lunch in one of the kitchens ). No other customers were there. I finally went to the office to see what the hold-up was. My sales person was just sitting chatting away with another employee. Our appliance install went very well. They were able to answer questions about our appliances over the phone, which is so very helpful. We had a concern about our dishwasher and they put us on contact with another company who sent someone over to look at it in a very timely fashion. We went to the store in Denver referred by our builder. They have the worst customer service ever, they lied to us by trying to sell a specific fridge ($9,672) stating that it would be the only one that could fit in the space he had. They also said the price could not be included in the mortgage and we had to pay them directly. I talked to the cabinet company who told us that wasn't true and we could instal the fridge we originally wanted not the one they were selling us. Needless to say we didn't buy anything. I had a great experience at Specialty Appliance beginning from the moment I walked in the story. Mike, the sale rep, quickly helped me find a combo microwave/oven and dishwasher and priced the appliances while I waited. He then came to my home the next day to measure to be sure they would fit a customized cabinet and made arrangements with his delivery and install team to move the electrical box so the new appliances would work. It was Thanksgiving week, so they were able to get the appliances delivered for install for a week, but when the installers, Greg and James showed up on time, they were polite, respectful on my kitchen floors, and did the install within an hour or so. The whole experience was quick, easy, fairly price (I had done my homework) and made sure I knew the most important things regarding using my new appliances.
