Crown Burger and Garlic fries
Scott G.

Double smash burger was really good. Had beer in a bottle and it wasn't very cold. Service is ok but they definitely need more help. Hotel bar and restaurant with several TVs. Have bar seating and table seating. It's about 15 degrees hotter in the bar than in the rest of the hotel .

Yum

Healthy breakfast is important to me and I dislike hotel breakfasts. Not able to find anything in the area I settled on this gem. Omelette is wonderful, fruit is fresh and a little salad. It's $21 and tea and coffee included. Loved it.

Pulled pork grilled cheese on Brioche... didn't really look or taste like Brioche, but tasted very good.

Their website falsely advertises Kansas City BBQ, but other than that, it was good. No BBQ on the menu at all, which is crazy and probably why not a soul was in the restaurant when I arrived. Still, it's a good option if you don't want to go far. There are a ton of gnats at the bar, but the bar fruit looked fresh and enclosed so not sure where they are coming from.

Driest burger ever. BARELY any sauce.

Worst meal I've had in a long time. Burger had almost no sauce. Completely dry. Caesar salad had crushed up crackers on it? And had to mix in the sauce. Fries were cold. Chili was good so I guess we got $7 out of $77 in good stuff.

This serves as the main restaurant and bar area for the Sheraton in Crown Center. Breakfast is pretty simple. There are only several choices, not a large menu but the portions are generous and food comes out very quickly. Service is pretty good and the ambiance is very causal. I intend to visit this place during the evening to observe not only the menu change but if service is just as good as the breakfast hours.

Hotel bar restaurant and was presently surprised. I had the crafted beer and hummus and shrimp artichokes bruschetta which was excellent. You never get this type of food and service at hotel restaurants.

Lunch: Great burgers. Fancy Salad was over salted but delicious. Salmon topper on the salad was perfect but don't forget to specify doneness level. Service can be sketchy when busy but always friend.

It was enough for two meals. Burnt Ends - I added on to the platter, and the burnt ends were fabulous! 1 Fresh Fruit- was not bad, I tossed the bananas out though, since my tummy does not agree with them too well. Other than that the berries(minus the strawberry stem) were a wonderfully refreshing compliment to the meal. This is definitely one to keep in my KC Munchies collection. The overall vibe is pretty cool, and I really liked the lighting inside--it gives the place a nice atmosphere. I ordered the BRGR burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The burger itself was pretty good, and the sweet potato fries were fantastic. They came out hot and had great flavor, easily the highlight of the meal. The server was very good and nice. She noticed that we were getting low on waters fast and just gave us the pitcher which was super thoughtful. That being said, the burger is pretty expensive, and they don't include fries with it. You have to pay an extra $5-6 for a side, which definitely adds up and feels a bit steep for what you get. Overall, it's still a good place with solid food and a cool vibe, but the pricing does affect the overall rating.

It has bread & butter pickles and Russian dressing. I also enjoyed a side of trffle fries. The fries are definitely split-able if you're with others! Other favorite items on their menu include the brussels sprouts, the Black Bird chicken sandwich, and the tater tots. If you're an adventurous drinker, try their brown bag special - a mystery beer fo a cheaper price. These days, it is too cold to sit on their small patio. In nice weather though, it is a great spot if you like to be "in the action" as it is steps from the KC streetcar, Power & Light, and the TMobile Center.

I did some research beforehand and saw that The Town Company received a James Beard nomination and had numerous glowing reviews, so I made sure to make a reservation a week in advance. The previous night, he had treated me to The Restaurant at 1900, which was fantastic, so we were expecting a meal of that caliber. That was not the case. To begin, the ambiance was fine. It was your typical, trendy upscale hotel restaurant that is dimly lit and has an open kitchen. We ordered the signature rolls, beef tartare, apple endive salad, and short rib-filet plate. After the rolls, everything went downhill, which was a huge disappointment. As for the rolls...who doesn't like a buttery, shokupan-like bread? The cultured butter they came with had a nice tang, but the carrot spread tasted like a salty, carrot-ginger soup concentrate. Not my favorite. After the bread was served, all of the other dishes were served so slowly that we wondered if they had forgotten us. While we were waiting, a server brought us the wrong dish and wordlessly took it away when we politely told them that we hadn't ordered it. Now that I think about it, the waitstaff here reminded me of the employees at Le Labo--same brand of aloof. The apple endive salad could have been delicious, but the amount of dressing overpowered its contents. All I could taste was a sweet, overly-acidic poppyseed dressing reminiscent of a store-bought bottle of Brianna's. I rarely complain that food is overseasoned, but that was the case with the salad and the next dish, the beef tartare. The beef tartare was so overloaded with lime, ginger, chili, lemongrass, and other spices that we couldn't really taste the beef at all. It reminded me of larb, which I wouldn't be mad at if I were ordering a LARB, not an overpriced beef tartare. The most disappointing plate of the night by far was the short rib and filet plate. Upon asking our waitress how many plates we should order, she told us that three small plates and one main dish would be more than enough, since the main, protein-centric dishes were "substantially larger." We were very wrong. We each got a small bite of short rib and one thumb-sized chunk of filet, which was served with--you guessed it--an overly salty, uninspired red wine sauce and giant, salt crystals. The parsnips and brussels sprouts were just...there. By the end of the meal, neither of us could hide our disappointment and decided to opt out of dessert. They brought us a complimentary after-dinner "truffle," which, to me, tasted like artificial fruit cereal and Pop Rocks coated in white chocolate. It was extremely underwhelming and gimmicky, and frankly, I haven't left a restaurant feeling pissed in a while. I was expecting a lot more from the Leach team and probably won't be back, but happy for the folks who enjoy this restaurant.
