Scheduled service to be disconnected due to moving. 10 days into a "new" billing cycle. Charged for the whole month. Customer service should let their customers know their policy. Supervisor, Carla, told me the info is on every bill. Maybe so. Customer service should alert their customers to that when calling to disconnect when this situation occurs. Technology that is 10+ years behind to times. Very limited recording capability. We used Direct-TV for the last 5 years. The service was good the DVRs allowed you to enjoy recording multiple shows (5) at the same time and review on any tv in the house that had a cable box. Not so with Spectrum. You can only record 2 shows at the same time while watching another channel. The recordings can only be seen on the TV that the recording was made from. As soon as we move into a house we will be going back to Direct-TV! read more

After three days I try to call them today after one hour and a half they responded and after 30 minutes talking to somebody trying to keep my account, she didnt let me cancel, and say they were not going to give me a refund although they charge, my invoice yesterday they say they cannot refund my money, and they didn't want to cancel. I had to go to a store to drop the equipment, and again they say I have supposed to have two pieces of equipment, and the last time the technician took one and they never remove it from the account, now they are trying to charge it to me , and nobody was able to solve anything. I feel like a victim of 'bait and switch'. Over a period of 2 years my bill went up 73%, so I decided to cancel. Little did I realize that your timing has to be perfect as far as the billing cycle is concerned. I called on the 29th March to cancel. On the 1st April I get a billing statement for a full month.(No, not an April Fool's joke). I called in and was told that my billing cycle starts on the 28th, so I should have called on the 27th to avoid the next billing. I have already turned in their equipment and am now having to throw away a full month's payment, although I'm not using their service. Too bad yelp won't let me give ZERO stars -- or negative stars. There are several MAJOR problems with spectrum "service". First, they were never able to give the internet speed that they promised. They came out several times, replaced hardware, replace the feed into the house, put on boosters, etc. Nothing worked. We were never able to get over 50 Mbps download. But they still billed me for the speed they were unable to deliver. Hopeless.... Second problem: they continually raise prices. Every single year the price goes up 10-30%. So after a few years, our bill had more than DOUBLED!!! Third problem: When we finally got sufficiently fed up to cut the cord and switch to T-Mobile 5G internet, we cancelled spectrum and returned ALL of their equipment. Then a few days after returning the equipment, we got a bill for $59 for "Unreturned Residential Emta"! I just spent 37 minutes on the phone with them regarding this. They say that they show all of the equipment as returned and that I do not owe anything. They claim that the bill was printed before I had returned the equipment. So I asked them to send me a final bill for $0. They said that was impossible. So I asked them to send me some statement that I owe nothing. Apparently THAT was also impossible. We'll see if they try to collect on their totally BOGUS bill. This definitely is beginning to look like a deceptive trade practice. I may end up needing to file a complain with the FCC. Awful, deceptive, predatory company. Before I begin let me say that I have no problem with the customer service for the most part. They were friendly and not rude. Unfortunately I was convinced they had my best interests at heart. Now I realize it's a scam. The third week of May I called to cancel cable. I just can't afford it because the price keeps going up and we watch so little. She tried to talk me into keeping it and bundling it with internet but it already is. I said I'd think about it. Also she said since I was paid up until the 31st and they don't prorate and refund I should wait. I was on the phone for an hour with her. I called back on May 29th to cancel. The person I spoke to encouraged me not to cancel cable and by the time an hour and 45 minutes had passed I was signed up for Internet, home phone, and mobile phones. It was a really great deal because as a valued customer for 25 years, they really wanted to keep my business. I've always said if it's too good to be true it probably is. Why didn't I remember that? He told me I would be reimbursed for my mobile phones since they weren't paid for yet. All I had to do was submit the invoice and it had been paid for. I changed everything over, paid for my phones, and submitted my invoice. Because I had only made two payments out of three for my phones I was told I could not be reimbursed. Nowhere was this ever disclosed to me. i'm even fairly sure. I told him I just bought my phones on April 1. It's even hard to find it on the website. Of course I wasn't looking at the website when I did the change. They would not budge or even work with me. Now I'm out $2076. Because I've changed my mobile phones I'm changing everything, it's basically the principal. It took me two days and approximately eight hours to get my phones ported back to AT&T and need I mention a lot of frustration. Because I switched my home phone and my Internet back to Frontier I lost my promotional discount. Now we can add another $720 for a year of lost discount. Icing on the cake was today. I paid off the phone they had me buy because they didn't support the model that my husband had. I had his original phone reactivated by AT&T, but when I took this phone to have it activated, it is locked, even though I paid it off. I called Spectrum and was told the phone had to remain on the account for 60 days before they could unlock it. They had no problem taking my money before the 60 days was up. Once everything is switched over, Spectrum will be dead to me. I am one of those customers that's been there since it was Time Warner cable. I just wished I had said let me think about it again and read the reviews. Always wondered how older people could get scammed and never thought I would be one of those. So at this point we are no longer looking for statements etc. months later get a collections notice... im like what the heck so I call to find out what is going on and these people basically stated there was no record of the call nothing was on the account that it got cancelled so legally was nothing we could do we were just liable for this outrageous payment. so pretty much they can just not record a cancel stop your service let you believe everything is good then hit you with a fat bill later. Then he could not locate the building (Hello Google Maps), then he couldn't find the data room. Well mfers, it is obviously in the building as other tenants have Spectrum internet. Then, they installed the service. Then, I cancelled. Then, I returned my modem, but Spectrum refused to refund my deposit. So, I had to dispute the charge. Then, Spectrum disputed my dispute. I'm so disappointed with this company. I've been with them for over 4 years and had service issues often at my apartment in austin near zilker park. Recently I bought a house and moved my services they sent out the wrong technician 4 times and finally had me on the phone for 2 hours to get their system corrected so that the right technician would be sent out. They scheduled the appointment for the next day and offered me free TV for life as an apology. I work from home so for over a week I had to travel to find working spaces since I had no internet. The person for the appointment never showed up so I called and they scheduled another one for the following day. I finally got internet and every one was very kind. However, when I checked my bill I saw that the tv was included. I called and they informed me that there is no way for them to offer free tv at all let alone for life. They apologized and said the supervisor would listen to the recording of the call and call me back in the next 2 days to see what they could do. They were kind and said it was not right for this to be offered and that they would make it right. I never got a call back. I called the next week and they said to wait another week. I called today and they said there is nothing they can do except cancel the tv service. This is such a bad customer service experience and I will be finding a different internet provider. The man on the phone tried to tell me I would never find this good of a deal and I said I would rather pay more to be able to have adequate customer service. I questioned this commenting there has to be a workaround. 'Can't help you' was the reply. These guys--both the storefront folks and the tele-techs--- have been amazing, patient, and completely uninterested in upselling or plan-juggling. I don't know whether the culture shifted with the name change, but I've had stellar luck with addressing my own internet plan and also with getting my 95 year-old father-in-law set up with a bundle at his senior living apartment. In the case of FIL's package, I had a couple of initial technical glitches, and the phone support lady even offered to "stay on the line" while I tried the fixes she offered. Amazing. I know the customer traffic can get pretty intense at the Hancock location, but I found the salesperson to be unhurried and perfectly amenable to cutting features and trimming monthly charges on my plan. He also was fine with addressing my concerns during the same appointment as my FIL's "new service" contact. In general, dealing with wireless and internet providers can be a psychological root canal, but I'll have to say at this point in time that SPECTRUM (at Hancock and via phone support) seems to be mitigating the pain and the price of keeping Austin wired. read more

They are already over priced, but they also charge a " Broadcast TV Surcharge" of $22.20 or more which is for local channels - Local channels are free, if you disconnect cable you can watch any local channels free. DO NOT get Spectrum Cable, you will come out cheaper and a lot happier paying for multiple apps, or combinations of apps that have all the same channels as Spectrum. read more

HORRID CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS!!!! I called and signed up for internet only service. The salesperson snuck in spectrum voice for an extra $9.99/month, without my approval. When I got the email confirmation, they totally botched my name, in addition to the spectrum voice charge, they are charging a $9.99 fee for me to install everything myself, even tho they are not sending people out for installation due to Covid-19. I called to get things adjusted, and the department that set me up had to transfer me to another department since they could not take things off the account. I was transferred and waited for 55 minutes for someone to finally answer. At this point, I had been so soured on the pour service, that I decided to cancel the new account and get a refund for my prepayment. The rep kept trying to convince me to stay, then after he realized that I was not going to budge, they noticed that since the account is new, he can't remove anything from it, and must transfer me to another department. The female short manager is a Condescending unprofessional poor excuse for a manager lmao. Well, three trips later and I still don't have my upgraded phone. Not any of my issues either on why it's taken three trips, nope. For 9 months they have not been able to figure out how to get our account to register. They definitely ask for their payment every month and will turn our phones off immediately if not paid.... but we can't log in to get copies of bills for reimbursement at work (we can't get all these months back either). We've told them too that it's costing us reimbursed money and 9 months later here we are. Well, we got the email for upgrades YAY, nope.... third trip out (after they've promised each time "we will get it handled come back in 24 hours") still don't have my upgrade.... GUESS WHY?!?! They can't find our account still 9 months later. We just made our payment last week. They were so kind to put in an IT ticket (it's been done lol a few times lmao but thanks) 24-48 for IT to look again and not fix it... best part???
