Great when it worked - but often times slow or no speeds. Aside from slow speeds my biggest gripe is with the trouble we had cancelling our service. We moved out of state to a place Spectrum doesn't serve. They told me I had none of their equipment to return and that the final bill would be autopaid. Then we box our stuff and move, only to be threatened 1 month later with collections for not paying for their modem which (naturally) we had not returned. Holy cow - jumping to that when they could have simply withdrawn the amount in the last autopay? We recently moved and had Google Fiber for internet. It was not available in our neighborhood, so we opted for ATT since we had mobile phone service with them. It was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. After multiple wasted hours of our time, we decided to call Spectrum. They went above and beyond what we expected to install our service. The technician was a complete pro, and they expedited getting our cable buried. I cannot say enough good things about their service. read more

spectrum: sunday 3/10/24, i received a text message from my husband that he tried to cancel charter/spectrum services and has been told it must be completed by me since my name was on the account. he was upset due to them allowing him to always add services however, hassled him about canceling services since they were unable to meet our needs at home for internet services. he works from home and our internet kept going out. we had a tech come out with no improvements. i was out with my daughter and stepped out from our appointment to make the call to cancel immediately. i did not have a pen and paper to write down details regarding the conversation and requested an email confirmation that my services was canceled pending total due by march 16 $84.99 service from february 28 to march 27, 2024. i was told that i would not owe any further money. i never received a confirmation email as discussed. the representative spent a prolonged period of time trying to convince me to not cancel my services and i was in the middle of an appointment with my daughter and did not confirm the email was sent post our phone call that day. i received a new cycle bill and called 4/02/24 and spoke to tori whom told me my account will be credited and provided me with a ticket number as follows: 7836039. i returned my equipment to the wentzville spectrum office 4/10/24 with the employee notifying me there was still a balance due. i explained that i have been told my account would be credited. the employee reassured me that no credit. has been placed and handed me a business card advising me to call the billing department at home stating there was nothing he could do there. i got home and made the call on 4/10/24 speaking to andra. andra notified me there is a bill due, she did not see any previous ticket number and placed me on hold to consult her team. andra came back, notified me the ticket has been found and it states the refund/credit has been denied due to their confusing billing cycle. andra explained, the person who filed the ticket should have contacted me to explain the situation and notify me the credit was not approved. i asked to speak to a manager. post holding, i spoke to parks from the leadership team in the billing department. reviewed everything previously with him and he explained, the charges are valid, the payment is owed, if i do not pay the final balance, it will be sent to collections. i apologize for any previous miscommunications, i can't credit the account. read more

June 17, 2024 We have been customers with Spectrum since before they were Spectrum. (Back when they were Time Warner Cable) We originally had cable only and acquired internet when it became a thing. Over the years our bill has continuously gone up while services have gone down....no such thing as the cable guy anymore. Most recently, our bill increased by $8.00 in January, another $11.00 in April & then another $50.00 in May. We called Spectrum to see how we could lower our bill, which by this point was supposed to be $216.35 a month including cable + internet. My husband spoke with 3 different people / 3 different times, in mid-May and each time he was told something different, so we started keeping track of who we spoke with and when. My husband spoke with Josh on 5-23-2024 who told us if we return our cable boxes and use Xumo boxes instead, our bill would be approximately $167.00 a month that included both cable streaming + internet. I called back later that evening to verify everything & was told by Jordan that our bill would be approximately $179.00 a month. When I asked about the discrepancy, I was told that Josh only accounted for 1 Xumo box instead of 2. Jordan & I went over the bill, line by line, for both cable (including 2 Xumo boxes) + internet services and I was again told the approximate cost would be $179.00 a month. Additionally, during the conversation, I asked Jordan if we decided to cancel our cable & keep our internet only, would the cost of our internet change? (We had received a promotional deal on the internet of $26.99 a month with increases annually of $20.00 through 2027.) I SPECIFICALLY ASKED if the internet price of $26.99 was contingent on us also having cable and was told NO; our internet & cable were NOT BUNDLED. Again, this was on 5-23-2024 around 5:00pm. At 8:30pm the same day, 5-23-2024, we received a confirmation email that our new estimated monthly charges will be $229.18. How did it go from $179.00 to $229.00 in 3 hours?! We decided not to keep the Xumo boxes and returned them the day they arrived & kept our cable service until today as our billing cycle ends tomorrow. I called Spectrum today, and spoke with Mark, to cancel our cable service only. When he attempted to turn it off, our internet rate changed from $26.99 to $69.99. I explained my conversation with Jordan from 5-23-2024. He talked to his supervisor, Tyler, who advised Mark to talk to billing. After talking with them and while attempting to transfer me to billing, the call disconnected. I called back & spoke with JaKayla. I explained to her my conversation with Mark and the phone disconnected again. I called back a 3rd time and was able to speak with Junior. I explained all of this again to him and he said, "Your internet is NOT bundled with your cable so I don't know why the amount is changing." Junior advised he was not able to adjust the billing however, he would transfer me to the Retention Department to see if they could help. I then spoke with Chance....again explained everything to him and he attempted to help me. Of course, being in the Retention Department, he offered different packages that I declined. He attempted several times to 'fix' the billing however, instead of informing me my bill would in fact be $26.99 a month, he advised it will be $39.99 a month. I told him I was not willing to accept that & would like to speak with a supervisor. I was transferred to Jessie (female) who apologized for me being 'misinformed' by Jordan. "Misinformed = a nice way of saying "lied to". (I do not believe for 1 minute that Jordan attempted to lie to me....I think Spectrum sets their employees up to 'misinform' customers & then use that excuse to screw customers over) Jessie proceeded to patronize me by saying, "Let's not focus on what I can't do, let's focus on what I can do." We discussed how internet is used in our home and Jessie offered the Ultra Package with free Wi-Fi for $39.99 a month for 1 year. I explained to her again that what Spectrum is doing is not right & I expect her to honor what I was told. She then proceeded to tell me that she's 'giving me free Wi-Fi which normally costs around $28.00 a month.' I advised her that her response was insulting & 'free Wi-Fi' is not doing us a favor when Spectrum is not honoring what they said & increasing our bill $13.00 a month. The only reason I did not cancel the internet today, in addition to the cable, is because I need it for work. We will however, find another provider as quickly as possible. Very disappointed that Spectrum doesn't value their customers; especially the ones who have been with them for decades. Shameful. read more

I added 2 phones and 2 tablets to our plan. I specifically requested insurance on all 4 devices. A year into my plan my phone wasn't holding a charge. I called to get a replacement and was told there was no insurance on the plan? I emphasized that I had and always have insurance on my properties only to be told that the window of the first 30 days had expired and I would be responsible for the cost of the replacement phone. This is absurd. Has anyone else had this experience. I feel totally ripped off and I also suspect I'm not the only one. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE! Worst customer service out of all of the providers out there. I had an issue with billing & was on hold for over an hour. Got through to tier 1 & spoke with a representative named Mike. Mike was friendly toward the beginning of the conversation until I told him he would have to escalate. Mike offered a call back & told me the wait would be 40+ minutes aside, from the 1 hour+ I had already spent waiting. Mike was not understanding of this (no empathy whatsoever) & again offered a call back. When I declined the call back & explained that I was declining the call back because my phone only rings one time & when I answer it, the system hangs up on me, Mike didn't care at all. I also let him know that I would be submitting a negative survey to which he responded coldly, "we don't do surveys anymore." Mike put me through to tier 2 management in the billing department. Alyssa/ Melissa (something like that) was the tier 2 Manager (rudest manager I have had the displeasure of working with)- automatically gave me attitude upon me responding to "how is your day going." I told her, "well it could be better, I've been waiting for over an hour." She responded with, "well, Mike offered you the call back & you declined." I told her, "yes, your system either doesn't call me back or it hangs up on me if it does call me back." She had the audacity to ARGUE with me & yell at me to say that the system DOES give call backs. (WTH!)? She clearly hasn't looked at my file to see that I have had to call back prior for the system malfunctioning. I shut down her terrible attitude & told her, "look... this is the situation.. my mom is disabled &I have been paying for a service on a mobile device that is still in the box, never been used, hasn't been taken out of the plastic & has never been activated. Your representative sold me this service, but failed to mention that the device doesn't work in my area because there are not cell phone towers in the hill country." She responded with, "well, I don't know why you can't understand that you can't return this. It is passed the 14 day return policy." I was SHOCKED! Why on earth is Spectrum allowing these employees to speak to clients like this! So I told her, "I received a text message & an email from spectrum stating that I needed to call because I have been paying for a service that I am not using." Alyssa/Melissa had such a cocky response that I asked her for her last name so that I could report her. Of course, some places do not reveal that for security purposes (which I understand) and some others DO provide that information in correspondence threads. Not one time did that "Manager" speak to me politely, show any sort of empathy nor understanding & most definitely wouldn't let me speak. Instead she tried to "end the call" because she "was not going to help me." HELP ME? I don't need "help," I want the "Manager" to do her job- even if she has to fake it to make it. It would have been nice for either Mike or Alyssa/Melissa to say, "I can understand where you are coming from... but this is policy." There was nothing like this; not one word of "I get it," or "hey, I can understand your frustration," NOTHING. Even when I told her that I would be putting a negative review online she said, "go ahead." So here I am, stuck with a plan that I pay $109.00 a month for a mobile phone+ internet, with a service that deliberately doesn't work in the area & if I downgrade the service, then I have to pay the $300 remaining on the device. This representative should NOT be in management & that is 100% NOT how you handle business. Even the worst customer/client (which I am not) should have an opportunity for their voice to be heard & management at least TRY to de-escalate. I was a loyal customer for over 20 years. I decided it was time to go with a less expensive option for tv. I went to the local store to return my equipment on the 13th. I received a text on the 24th saying my statement was available. I was not told that I would be charged for another month of service since my billing cycle ended on the 12th. I have been a long time customer of Spectrum Cable and recently switched to a better carrier. I disconnected on 9/9/22 but was billed for the full month. I reached out to Spectrum to request a credit for the 20 days billed and no service. This is against their policy and they agreed to give me a $10.00 credit. I was very disappointed. You know how you see all those ads for Spectrum Cable, Internet or Phone... you're paying for all that advertisement with their highly inflated cable bills. My advice, If you go with Spectrum be sure to have another provider lined up so you can switch away before their first year fees go through the roof because believe me they do. Worse service ever, internet always has interruptions on it, you can't really work because it will pause, my kids can't do their homework because it stops working very often. If you contact Customer Service , good luck, you never get in touch with them. After three days I try to call them today after one hour and a half they responded and after 30 minutes talking to somebody trying to keep my account, she didnt let me cancel, and say they were not going to give me a refund although they charge, my invoice yesterday they say they cannot refund my money, and they didn't want to cancel. I had to go to a store to drop the equipment, and again they say I have supposed to have two pieces of equipment, and the last time the technician took one and they never remove it from the account, now they are trying to charge it to me , and nobody was able to solve anything.
