They sold us a Samsung A13 phone and said it would be unlocked at the end of the contract, so now that its no longer on contract and unlocked, who cares? It doesn't work with any other carrier. Only Spectrum. I gave it away to a guy who wanted a camera to run his Alfred app on, that's about all it's good for. It was awful indoors and we had to restart it every week for the phone to work. Having read all the negative reviews of this branch here on Yelp I was hesitant to go but as it was the closest, I decided to go. I wanted to turn in 2 unused cable boxes and make changes to my services. The store was busy. I logged in at 10:07 AM and was called to a service desk at 10:15. Not a bad wait at all. The service rep listened attentively to all my questions and concerns and discussed what I wanted to do, in easy-to-understand detail, explaining all my options, the costs and reviewing and repeating what I wanted to do before he did anything, to make sure we were on the same page. All in all, it was a pleasant experience and I have no complaints. read more

This is my first time using this service, considering I had no choice. They are the only ones available in my neighborhood. Well so far it has not been good. After spending at least two hours on the phone with support we found out that my router is bad they sent me to the local outlet to exchange the router. Once I got here only to find out I will be here at least another hour or so to exchange bad equipment that was sent to me in the first place. Several people at the entrance having problems signing in and they are super rude about it. It is obvious that they are more concerned with their cell phone sales then their streaming service. I pray another carrier comes to my area soon. read more

Todd was very helpful to me when I arrived to return some wi-fi/router equipment that was when I realized that my internet service was still active at my old location. He did inform me that I would have to contact billing to get an adjustment on my account because he could not do it in the office. He also said that maybe since the billing cycle had started the day before, that they might be able to prorate the bill. First of all, Spectrum does not prorate their accounts. it's all or nothing, be it 1 day or 15 days into the billing cycle. So if you ever hear a representative tell you such malarky, laugh and chalk it up to the fact that you will pay for the entire month of billing whether you use it or not. Secondly, when speaking to a representative, make sure you get names and document everything. Again, don't believe them when they say " we are going to get that transaction transferred to your new account" cause it AIN'T gonna happen. You will pay for the entire billing cycle. I am leaning into changing internet services. Spectrum is a bunch of crooks. Their policy of no proration is armed robbery. Lastly, when you cancel, make sure. you call Spectrum on the phone to cancel your services. it cannot be done in the store. Do not just turn in your equipment in the store and be done. Call in to cancel your account or you will be like me, stuck with paying for unused services to the tune of over $250. and get the response, that "It is a monthly subscription charged in advance," said Erica. Spectrum has lost major points with me.They would rather lose a good customer rather than adjusting and making a situation right for 1 day into the billing cycle. Shame. On. You. While mediocrity is king, the Spectrum store's customer service on Norfolk Pkwy sucks! I'm an 76-year-old woman who is not technically savvy and came into the store to have my new SIM card installed. My service rep was Neil and he informed me that he could not do so because I did not order the SIM card through the store. I asked him what is the difference since your the same company. Besides, the Spectrum rep on the phone said that it would not be a problem if I'm having difficult to come into the store for assistance. Neil stated, Well if you ordered the SIM card through the store then I could help you." So I asked Neil to order the SIM card through the store, he replied, "You need to send the current SIM card back then come back to the store and I'll install it for you! I walked out feeling frustrated and angry not to mention the 30 minutes of wasted time and gas money. I called Spectrum and another rep the about incidence I experienced. She asked if I would try another store before I closed my entire Spectrum account (TV, internet and now phone). I went to Spectrum on So. Babcock and Chris had no problems helping me install my SIM card. Installed card in 5 minutes. It was not a big deal. KUDOS TO CHRIS. Neil doesn't seem to grasp the concept of customer service or going the extra mile. Since the prices of these telecommunication companies are pretty competitive, the reason I would choice one company over another is not only money saved but also for CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

Well I was a happy Brighthouse customer for years - then they became spectrum - I had price increases, poor service and I HATED them. I changed providers for internet and phone to ATT - very great everything and for years. I got a promo card in the mail for internet for $29.99 a month and actually turns out it is $34.99 - still better than the ATT price - so I was convinced to change. I did - internet is fine and price is fine. Then - the nice woman convinced me to change from my fabulous iPhone 5s to a new iPhone SE - at $2 a month more for 2 years (was paying $30 a month and now $32.with phone - drops to $16 after I pay for the $399 stupid HOT phone - 2 YEARS) - I said OK. Well - here is the issue - first - METRO PCS offers the SAME iPhone SE for $99 and 6 month plan - Spectrum is charging $399. a $300 difference!! I have had the phone a month and called - I cannot return it or get a price break - so they SCREWED ME again. I am stuck. A senior citizen - used and abused - fixed income - trying to save money - THEY SCREWED ME! The new phone gets HOT and through the 3 other iPhones I have had I never had any issue with a hot phone - it is not as good. and for $399 - STAY AWAY - Verizon, Metro, ATT - anyone is better by far - I HATE SPECTRUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
