I paid a visit to Justyn's shop and I explained to him that I had a Check Engine light on my Outback. He told me to bring the car in and he found a loose spark plug wire. This was corrected and he tightened a few loose bolts. I was pleased with getting my Outback up and running without making a trip to the dealership. A few months ago, I brought the Outback to Justyn to repair an oil leak. He made the repair and the rear struts were replaced once the parts arrived. The car ran great after the repairs were made. I found another new leak. Justyn made the repair and he sent me pictures of the trouble areas before making the repairs. I love the quality of the work that Justyn has done for my Outback. The price of the service has been reasonable. It is considerably less expensive than the dealership. I also the fact that Boxer Worx is my home town of Fernley. Thanks Justyn! Jake was clear on fee structure and costs along the way. Sunshine also performed a pretty thorough general inspection and found a few additional things that needed to be addressed. The choice of what to do or not do was completely mine. There was absolutely NO pressure to approve the other suggested services. They sent a text with pictures of what they found and explained anything/everything I asked about. Again, very much appreciated! I ended up needing new lower front rocker arms & bushings. They also performed an alignment (due to rocker arm replacement) oil change, tire balance & rotation and replaced the engine filter. I could see it was needed based on photos sent via the text. Jake found a replacement kit that included arms and bushings which saved me some money. Yay They also found the tires had been rotated improperly for an AWD. I asked ken for help diagnosing the problem and getting parts, ken knew right away that my water pump was toast. He let me pull my truck into their lot and start tearing apart the motor, lending me tools and answering any question I had on how to replace the parts. Justyn spent most of his day giving me tips and even driving me to oreillys to pick up parts. I was able to get the new water pump installed and get back on the road before sundown. It was an absolute blessing to have broken down in front of MKS diesel. Justyn and Ken saved the day and helped me when I had no money or anything to offer them. I finally talked my Mom out of going here after the third time that we paid for their…read moreincompetence... two radiators that somehow either failed while the car was in their hands or just as the car drove off the lot (neither car had any radiator issues beforehand and one failed catastrophically) and a bolt head rounded off due to using an open-ended wrench... all added significantly to the very simple repairs that we actually brought cars in for... I don't think this was malicious, I think it was just the near universal incompetence of mechanics that I've run into in Reno, but the extra $2000 we paid these guys for it was far more than enough. I wouldn't trust them to work on a bicycle where I could easily inspect the work myself. I've done nearly all my own work since the last incident here and guess what, I haven't had any parts not directly related to a problem fail yet.
