I had a spare tire kit installed on my wife's Escalade and it required the rear muffler to be removed and i called Rome after Chevrolet installed the tire kit and he said to bring it in and they would take a look. When i got there at 3:45 pm he said no problem and he would do it right then if i liked and he quoted a price and it took less time than he said and it was less than he quoted... who can knock that, plus they did a great job. This place is great place to take your car for exhaust needs. My familys been using this place since i can remember. 2002 expedition, 84 mustang gt, 05 mustang gt, 11 mustang gt, 96 camaro rs, 96 camaro z28, 2000 jetta are some of the cars that speedway has worked on for my family. As a resident of Upland, I try to find local businesses to do my business with. I have used Speedway Muffler in the past and went there today to get my aftermarket 5" exhaust system properly hung on the factory rubber hangers. Within 15 minutes they had corrected the problem, which meant welding new mounts to the shoddy ones that came installed on the exhaust system. Good, fast, reliable service, and all for only $30.00. I went here for a test pipe install on my 2006 Nissan 350z. The job itself isn't hard, just a pain to do without a lift. Decided to take it somewhere local since it was just a simple install. I called before I came in and i told the guy over the phone what needed to be done. And over the phone he seemed like he knew what was going on. He quoted me over the phone that it would be 50 dollars. I thought to myself wow that's a good deal. normally i'd expect it to be 70-90 dollars. I went to the shop and first thing i noticed was that noone was around.. i had to stand around for a good 10 mins calling for someone before anyone came and helped me. A guy came and asked me what i needed. I told him and asked me what price i had been quoted over the phone and by whom. Told him 50 dollars and i didnt get the name of the person. So they get me to drive my car onto the lift. Which is odd but it's okay since my car is pretty low and i'd rather drive it myself. After i get out of the car.. the Mechanic comes and start lifting the car while on his cell phone. About half way up i say my test pipes are in the car and rolls his eyes at me and lowers the lift. As take out the pipes he aggressively says. What are those?! then turns to the front desk and said how much are we doing that for? and finds out they are doing it for 50 dollars. Proceeds to curse up a storm and says no way we can do this for that cheap. The guy says let me call and find out. So im left standing in the bay holding my pipes for 15 mins while he goes to find out and says its going to be 80 instead. I was a little irked at this time but i was in a hurry so i said sure that's fine. As i sit in the waiting i can clearly see the mechanic working on my car. Doesn't take too long but in the mean time he's smoking while working on my car and tossing my pipes around. As he finishes and im about to pay. the front desk guy says if you're paying cash i wont charge you tax. I think to myself. since when does anyone get charge tax on just labor? they didnt sell me any tangible goods. I was going to pay cash anyways so it didnt matter. but i had asked for a receipt which of course he didn't provide me which i thought was shady. i know there are more than one location for speedway muffler. Needless to say this experience has left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. So i gave this place 1 star because they were competent enough to switch out my catalytic converter with test pipes. But ill will NEVER recommend this place to anyone or ever come back for that matter. read more

I came into Speedway Muffler to get a flange connected to my exhaust. I needed a way to switch back to my stock exhaust from my aftermarket one when the smog time came around. I was greeted by Junior who I explained my situation to and we put my car up on the lift. He quoted me at a very reasonable price that was much better than the other muffler shops around. The employees scrambled around working on my car as fast as they could and were very friendly. The business had multiple customers coming and going as I waited and looked very satisfied as they left. The job took approximately 1 hour and everything looked perfect. The flowmaster mufflers they put on my mustang gt sound horrible. They belt out some weird noise that sounds like a kazoo on steroids. Took it back to the shop and had them take a look. Of course the sound doesn't always rear its ugly head so they couldn't figure out the problem. Put it up on the rack and it all looked fine so they sent me on my way. Not their problem I guess???? Went because this place was HIGHLY recommended by my uncle (coming here for 20 years). Was in and out in 10-15 minutes.. Went to get my cat switched out.. At the advice of my uncle (who owns only V8s..) - I asked to get a new muffler, as the car has 150k miles on it with the stock one. The manager questioned the necessity for a new muffler (as I have a low HP 4 cyl) and advised me not to get it. He went for quality and honesty over making a quick buck.
