Stopped for a sweet treat! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside super cute and when I was checking out saw homemade crotchet plushies that I had to get as a gift for my friend![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Got the mango option and it was amazing! Love their creativity and it was so good! Ice cream really is premium soft served, mango chunks at the bottom, ad the green apple sauce paired really well! Cotton candy was fun! Definitely a smaller sized cup than I thought for the price but tasted so good. Came out quick and they were friendly as well.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a quiet, but full of afternoon sun spot that we love.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Milk tea is one of the best in the area, they also have cotton candy, macarons, sweet treats, and dessert options. People are friendly, service is not the fastest, but quality is pretty steady.
Such a huge fan of MILKCOW!!! This dessert cafe originates from South Korean, and they're known for their milky soft serve and their bubble teas. Their menu is pretty extensive, offering milk teas, oolong teas, black teas, jasmine green teas, 'Galaxy' drinks, premium milk soft serve, various ice cream toppings, and even coffee. We came here after having lunch in the area, and ordered: +the Honeycomb Toffee Latte - this was prepared with espresso and topped with a generous amount of toffee pieces on top; this was SO GOOD! The drink was creamy and just the right amount of sweetness; this comes in a milk tea version, too +a Mont Blanc soft serve creation - this was prepared with green apple sauce, chocolate rocks, Oreo crumbles, milk ice cream, and topped with cotton candy; super cute, aesthetic-wise, and easily shareable between 2 people; the soft serve was thick and creamy, and very yummy! Went to Hawthorne mall and wanted to find a nearby boba place. Milkcow definitely did not disappoint. We ordered the lychee galaxy, macao and affocado milk ice cream, and egg waffle. The portions are a good size. The ice cream and the tiramisu macaron were absolutely delicious. The egg waffle had the right amount of crispness. Very satisfying to be able to break off the circular egg pieces and eating it with your ice cream. You could see that everything we ordered was freshly made, the staff was also friendly to an older couple to help explain the menu. Inside it was nice and quiet and definitely family friendly. Easy to find location within a strip mall with easy parking. I forsee us wanting to make the extra detour to this cage everytime we head to Vernon Hills area! Highly recommend!

It's one of those Instagram worthy places with photo opps. Like: the variety of toppings that come on the milk soft serve treats. There's macarons, syrups, candy, cotton candy. The Sweet Home concoction had chocolate and caramel sauce with sweet and salty Chicago popcorn mixed in it. Very unique creation! Dislike: note the soft serve cups are smaller than you think and what you'd expect from the Yelp pictures. The cups are maybe 6oz. It'd be 8oz at best, and for the quantity, paying almost $7 for the treat is a bit steep in my opinion. The soft serve wasn't as flavorful or distinctive as I was expecting. One of our treats had a macaron, and we chose the cookies 'n cream one, but it was quite bland and a bit staling. Might come back if in the area and craving something sweet but not too heavy and indulgent.
Tonight's hot and steamy weather drove us in search of a cool down. I saw reviews for Milkcow Cafe and thought it would be a refreshing treat. The cafe looked promising. The inside had a brick wall with the Milkcow logo and a blackboard with a chalk drawing of the world. The menu had milk teas, fruit teas, bubble teas...however we were in search of ice cream. I ordered the Macao Dream (M7) which was Hazelnut Coco, Macaron and Milk Ice Cream. I picked a hazelnut macaron. My companion chose the Black Pearl (M5), Chocolate Sauce, Chocolate Balls and Milk Ice Cream. The ice cream was cold and creamy. My macaron was crunchy and dry. I liked the hazelnut sauce although it was thin and most of it was on the bottom of the cup. My companion was not impressed with the Black Pearl and compared it to a McDonald's sundae. The ice cream was refreshing although we found it overall to be underwhelming. Service was personable and quick. The chairs scattered in the middle of the room for seating was strange and the decorative objects placed throughout the cafe did not fit with the decor. There was a strong pervasive odor of disinfectant that was immediately apparent upon entering the cafe. (Maybe we should have turned and left when we smelled it, I don't know. There were about ten people on one side of the cafe and it didn't seem to bother them so who knows?) If I am in the area I might try again with a bubble tea.
loved this soft serve in its texture and vanilla flavor! but it was a lot smaller than i thought it would be for the price of $7ish after tax so i was kinda of disappointed. would only come back if in the area, but it was cute inside with their promotional posters and service was good. they only had one worker atm.
The new honeycomb milktea is pretty to look at but I think the taste is just OK. It gets way too sweet at the bottom when the sugar melts. It would be better if it came with boba, they might help with the dissolved sugar sweetness. But the boba would be extra cost as add on. I couldn't taste much of the tea flavor either. Might be better to be bolder with the tea bitterness. They serve really good tea so I think it's probably just one of those where they have to feel ok with it going more bitter on the tea flavor.

The decor of this establishment was very inviting yet relaxing. Definitely a cool place to chill on a hot summers day (no pun intended). The menu is vast and filled with delicious options and pairings but I decided to play it safe and go with the cookies and cream soft serve. Service was quick even though there was only one person working and taking multiple orders at once. The soft serve was... well... ok.. very milky tasting and nothing to really rave about... For $6 I would have expected it to be bigger than it was. It's about the same size if not a bit smaller than the sundae you'd get for $2 at McDonalds... kinda pricy if I may say so.. the Oreo crumble were good and the presentation was great but I don't see me ordering or spending 6 on this again. I will be returning to try a few more items on their menu especially their milk tea which may prove a better option but as my first official time I personally dont see the hype. Hopefully my next visit will change my mind. 3/5 but I'd definitely say give this place a try if you're in the area.
Only 4 stars because it's a little pricier, but it's pretty unique!! I loved the honey comb. The soft drive itself almost had a sweetened milk flavor, like a sweet cream. It's definitely something fun to try and it's very photogenic!! The location is easily accessible and the service was friendly. Would definitely return again!

Milkcow is always a vibe. I've been coming here for years and although it has changed a lot, it is still good. They have a new drink that came out that is toffee honeycomb and it was delicious. The brown sugar milk tea is always a classic. The macarons are hit or miss. Sometimes they are hard and dry but this time it was pretty fresh. The service also depends on who is working that day. Overall, this is one of the top bubble tea spots in the northern suburbs. read more
If you're looking for something sweet to wrap up a fun day, Milkcow is the place to go! We were looking around on Yelp for a soft serve ice cream place near us and saw that Milkcow was in our local area! It's located in a strip of stores, and the when you walk in you're greeted with rustic decor. They have pictures of their different menu items all around so it helped provide an idea of what we can expect. We decided to get the Macao Dream ice cream in a egg waffle. It was absolutely delicious! One of the best soft serve ice creams I've had in a long time! We also decided to try the pineapple mango galaxy, it was so yummy! It reminds me a lot of the POG juice from Disney world! As the weather gets warmer, we'll definitely be stopping by a ton to get our ice cream fix! read more

This place is small but the ambiance is cute at least. The seating leaves a bit to be desired, the chairs and tables are kind of awkward and cheap looking outside of a few nicer lounge style chairs. They seemed to only have one worker but despite a steady flow of customers she was efficient and friendly. The ice cream was delicious and rich, I had the honey milk and added a honeycomb cube. It was super sweet with all that honey but it wasn't too much. My friend had the double chocolate one with the malted milk balls and she said it was perfect. They have a decent selection of options including bubble teas, I'd definitely stop in again. Side note, I saw a kid getting cotton candy and it looked legit. Not the kind that comes in a bag, it looked fresh? Seems like a great spot for kids and adults alike! read more
Great tasting milk tea. The tapioca pearls were chewy, and our drinks weren't too sweet. I also think that the prices were reasonable for the size of the drinks. Next time, I would love to try their soft serve ice cream. Additionally, the aesthetic of the interior is nice, and the service is friendly as well. The interior had a lot of cute posters, plants, and other decor. However, right now, the inside seating is closed due to COVID. read more
This is such a cute ice cream cafe!! Loved the decor and interior of this place. Wish it was open for sit-down so I could enjoy the indoor experience. The soft serve ice cream is creamy and delicious. The ice cream is made in house and tastes incredible. We had the SNOW DROP and MANGO TREE from their premium milk soft serve options and absolutely LOVED it. The Cotton Candy topping was awesome. We also had the Mango Galaxy drink with lychee and it was so refreshing and flavorful. If I lived closer would be back here everyday . Will visit again to try more flavors. GO CHECK IT OUT. read more

The staff and other customers are so helpful. Each drink is prepared fresh, even grinding the espresso bean for the drink!!!! The jazz playing in the background makes for a relaxing experience. It did not disappoint. read more
Yum! Was looking for a sweet treat and Milkcow Cafe happened to be close by. The Milkcow Milk Tea was tasty and so was the egg waffle. I stopped in on a random Wednesday afternoon and was the only person there, so service was pretty quick. It seemed like a nice spot to get some work done or bring friends--they have both tables and single seats facing the window. read more

I love their drink selections for milk tea and coffee plus the topping options too. Better than my usual go to place actually but this one's far from home. Anyway, they are not open for sit-down this covid. Would have been nice to drink there and take pics pics pics. The "sweet home" was too sweet in the end because of the remaining drizzle. The affogato was not the best, we've tried something better in Lake Erie. The milk tea I ordered was, I forgot, it was okay although the pearls wasn't the best either. Rated 5 for the variety of drinks, nice indoor decor and arrangement (wish they have outdoor options) and because they're the best in the area so far. You gotta be kidding me with this place? I don't as thrown off by the name and thought I'd find cheese curds and maybe some standard vanilla soft serve here...I was super wrong. They have amazing ice cream & boba tea. I got a caramel sundae with Chicago popcorn. To - die - for! I also loved my pineapple green tea with boba. My kids give it two thumbs up! I think the key to a great ice cream joint is the flavor of their vanilla ice cream. The soft serve is extremely creamy and flavorful no need to add all of the toppings unless you're a kid! lol. I usually get an iced peach black tea with lychee jelly. Ask for the tea to be unsweetened as the jelly will automatically make it sweet. Will definitely try this place again! read more
I got the affogato - matcha shot. Matcha had good strong flavor. I also got the honey cube which was very tasty. They have a wide store space but decided to not set up tables and chairs. If I remember correctly, the soft serve itself is only vanilla and all the menu options are just variations of this vanilla soft serve with various toppings. Prices are reasonable. Dessert shop is in a large stripe mall with a big parking lot. read more
We stop into Milkcow Cafe whenever we are in the area. They have really good bubble tea and ice cream creations. Our entire family loves this place. I have recommended friends to this place on a regular bases and got great reviews back. Go check them out! read more

We came here looking at some of cool gram pictures of the soft serves. We ordered cookies and cream, mango tree and cocoa softserve. Overall I think they are doing a very good job with the presentation but I would expect flavored icecreams instead of just flavoring using toppings and sauces. read more

This place is very cute. There are lots of things that are offered but looking back at different pictures of items from before, I felt like the ice cream felt lack luster. It was still good, just pretty much vanilla soft serve with some chocolate sauce though. The taro drink with boba (and crystal boba) was good. I just wanted the ice cream concoction to be nicer than it was. I might come back if I'm out in this area. read more

They serve a LOT of drinks. If you're worried about lactose, just stray away from the milk teas. I would ask them just to make sure though.
