    Vegetarian Torta Dinner
    Halle C.

Was looking for some authentic Mexican in Tinley Park, and we ended up at Speedy Burritos. The environment was mostly clean when we walked in. It looked like the floor definitely needed a nice sweeping, but the table surfaces were clean. The service was decent. I do not think the waitress was rude or horrible, but she was very young and seemed to be doing most of the work herself for my big party and whoever else came in. There were times when it seemed she could've come to check on us sooner, but I am unsure if she had other obligations in the kitchen. The food came out very hot. Everyone got what they wanted with no complaints. To start, we had chips and salsa. The salsa was very fresh and delicious with a lightly chunky consistency. I ordered the chorizo sope dinner and was impressed with the generous portions. The chorizo was a little salty, but when paired with all the other ingredients it balanced out. No one in my party of 8 was able to finish their plate due to the generous portions. To drink, I ordered a jamaica agua fresca, my fave. Theirs was up to par and complimented my meal well. I would very much be interested in visiting again if in the area. Just hope they'd sweep more.

Go with the sopes- best bet.....I really like spicy and the red salsa hits the spot. I Posted pictures of the menu- like how they have daily specials. This place is located on 171st, strip mall across the street from Jewel Osco.

Kids are welcome and families are all over the place ... all adding to the noise levels. They also serve brunch and do that just as well as breakfast. Food wise ... what can you say about eggs, or French toast, or pancakes that hasn't been said before? They bring off all these treats very well and they do it very fast. You won't be sitting around waiting for your meal. While just off the beaten path over here on Oak Park Avenue, do make a point of trying this place out. Very good all around.

It was very clean here, and welcoming service. Pretty busy too. Booths were roomy. A lot on the menu to choose from but she got the French Toast and Pancake special combo, and I got the omelet that had a lot of veggies in it. Food came out in a jiffy and wow - the portions here were great! We loved all of the food, and I really enjoyed my omelet - because it was huge, plenty of eggs too, and a very hearty breakfast. They make banana bread here and sell it by the loaf - well I had to get some. Took that puppy home and put it in the freezer. After a week or so we took it out - and it was excellent! Not as good as my mom's but it's still very good, and I highly recommend it. Not too sweet, large loaf, and I got enough banana flavor too. If I am ever back here in this area we are going to stop here for sure. Excellence customer service too!

SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT ... my friend and I selected The Primal Cut for our monthly girls night out…read more Our radar started to go up when our waitress seemed to not have the most inviting personality. Very dry ... very robotic... almost like... just give me your order so we can all go on with our lives. Shortly after placing our orders, the table next to us was seated with new customers. Our waitress waited on them as well. Being so close we could hear everything. What was most noticeable was how our waitress came to life for them. Initially I justified our waitress as just having a bad day. But when she became bright eyed, bubbly and conversational with them ... I went to the next, more obvious reason... seeing as how they were a party of 4 and we were a party of 2. The only other difference was - that table was white and we were black. Now our reservation was at 5:30pm. We were seated by 5:45pm as I was told that since my reservation specifically requested the "furthest booth from the entrance", they were still waiting for that table to become available. That was fine! Remember this - I requested a booth furthest from the entrance. It wasn't their idea. You'll see how this comes up later. We placed our order around 6pm. Could have been a little later. But I know for sure our main course didn't come out until 7pm. No complaints about the food on my end. But I do have a problem with being told when the bill comes that 1) there is a mandatory 18% gratuity added for parties of 2 and 2) there is a 3.5% fee for using your credit card. Neither of these stipulations were disclosed at the time the reservation was made. In fact, within the reservation confirmation email, there is a section that says "What to know before you go"... You know what it says? It says: " YOU ARE CONFIRMED. Thank you for choosing Primal Cut Steakhouse. Should your plans change, please let us know. We look forward to serving you." Nothing about the mandatory gratuity. Nothing about the 3.5% fee for using your credit card. After arriving home later that evening, I scoured through their website only to find these details were deeply embedded within their website. You have to click on "Menu" and then scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN to the end of the menu in order to find these details. This seems very deceptive. Something as important as this should be on the main page of their website. Especially within the Reservation Confirmation!! Customers should not be expected to read through the entire menu to find this out, or like us, find out once the final bill arrives. Something else I did not find on their website and wasn't included within our reservation confirmation was that you are only allowed 90 minutes to occupy your table/booth. Here's how we found out... By 8pm, who I believe to be the manager approached our table and asked how we enjoyed our meal. She then goes on to say "I know you ladies were chatting away, and that's why we gave you this booth so far away" ...(did you catch that... not that I requested it in my reservation)... She goes on to say "But each reservation is only valid for 90 minutes and we are getting backed up, and need to give this table to other customers... so if you wouldn't mind..." As mentioned earlier, the 90-minute seating time for our reservation was NOT disclosed beforehand. Not on their website (not that I can find), and not on the reservation confirmation. Keep in mind - even if that is their rule, it took an hour to get our main entrée. It was 7pm by then. By 8pm they were giving us the boot. Additionally, there were only 2 people waiting to be seated when we arrived. I didn't see a line, or a "back-up" as the Manager claimed. Needless to say, I believe this was very deceptive by not CLEARLY & OPENLY disclosing that 1) there is a mandatory 18% gratuity added for parties of 2, #2) there is a 3.5% fee for using your credit card and 3) Each reservation is only for 90 minutes. Regardless of the time your main entrée is served. If Financial Institutions and other establishments are required to be fully transparent and disclose their fees and stipulations around services rendered why wouldn't The Primal Cut?? After getting home and looking at other reviews, it seems other Brown and Black people have also experienced questionable treatment here as well... so this is nothing new... just not addressed. We all work hard for our money. For me, I'd rather spend it at an establishment that makes me feel like the prize and works hard to earn the money I've worked hard for and leaves me in eager anticipation of my next visit. I didn't get this here and will happily spend my money elsewhere.
