I've been going to this spa for a couple of years and always get a good service and a great advice. This is one person spa and the owner, Yolanda is providing the services. I like the fact that I can book appointments online. Yolanda not only does great facials, she also gives a lot of advice on home care. She has her own product line but she never pushes you to buy it and can advice you on the products you currently own or would like to purchase from other lines. Yolanda periodically offers discounts and has a monthly membership at reduced price. Yolanda always spends enough time on your skin to make sure all issues are addressed and I never feel being rushed. I went in with neglected, dry, dull skin and with a combination of her treatments and amazing products, my super sensitive skin quickly came back to life. I'm not sure why anyone is saying they were treated rudely, because I had the complete opposite experience! Yolanda was very nice and attentive. I did wait a little, but i was in no rush. She left her customer, to come and tend to me as i walked in, and even gave me tea, as it was cold and raining. The experience and treatment i received was beyond what i expected. I did use a Groupon, because this was my first time there and wanted to try a place out that i could use in the future. She helped me with my skin care routine, and her products are amazing, in which i purchased. She was not pushy, and said if i would like to return, i do not have to until another 3 months, which most businesses do not say because they just want you to come back, even if you do not need to only for your money. I have never written a yelp review before , but this place is so amazing i just had to! I have been struggling with acne scars for a while now and i decided to finally do something about it so i could be confident in my appearance again. I researched and the best treatment i found was microdermabrasion. I searched for local spas and decided on speranzi. So glad i made that choice! Yolanda was amazing and really knew what she was doing and talking about. My skin feels amazing this morning and it's because I had a facial with Yolanda yesterday! She was so nice and told me exactly what I need to do for my skin. I had the anti aging facial. It was a 40th Birthday present to myself. I wanted my skin to look good for the party I have planned and she delivered. I bought two products from her when the facial as over. The pimple cream and the moisturizer and made another appointment for three months. I am so happy with the results. My skin hasn't looked this good in a long long time! It's soft and hydrated and plumper and fresher looking. I went to Speranzi based on reviews I read and I made the right decision! The owner, Yolanda accused me for not showing up at a certain time and date that I made that appointment online which I have rescheduled it to a different date and time on the same day that I made this appointment. I received a confirmation email after I rescheduled my appointment . However the facial service that I paid for full price got shorten into express facial which I didn't enjoy it at all. Ok, long story short, this is not the facial spa for you if you are looking for a luxurious spa, replete with dim lighting, Zen music and soft fluffy robes. The spa itself is clean, neat and almost European spartan, housed in a small unassuming building on Bloomfield Ave in Caldwell, NJ. What you do get is the total attention and knowledge of a true skin care expert. Yolanda, the owner, practices what she preaches and works tirelessly to ensure you, her customer get the best treatment, with the proper products to ensure the best results. She is an educator who willingly instructs and coaches her clients. And yes, the results are noticeable from the initial treatment. I also brought my 17 year old daughter who had acne style break outs on her face and unlike other teen facials, there were no "popping the zits" - just proper treatment, products and instruction. Her skin never looked better. The products themselves are all natural, priced better than fair and most importantly very effective. This Spa is not a franchised business, it is owner operated, in fact Yolanda runs the whole show and when not actually working in the spa, she is very involved in lecturing and instructing. She is totally committed to her customers and this type of dedication and customer service is all too rare today-and I'm a customer service type of guy. After just one session with Yolanda, I can tell that my skin is improving. From the moment I walked in, she knew exactly what my skin needed just by looking at it. Her zitzapper treatment is a better alternative to extractions and the breakouts that I had were gone within a day. I visited this spa for the first time on May 27, 2017. I chose the Deep Cleansing facial. The facial was average, not spectacular, with a lot of the hard sell to buy their products. I paid using a combination of a Groupon and cash (for the products that I purchased). Products: exfoliating cleanser - very good; eye makeup remover - don't waste your money! Additionally, as I was waiting for my change I asked Yolanda what service she would recommend for me as a next step. I fully expected her to say micro-dermabrasion because we had spoken about it during the facial. Instead she immediately recommended her most expensive service - the face lift facial. Fast forward to the evening of June 26, 2017 at about 9:00 PM when I receive a telephone call from Yolanda. This is how the convo went: Yolanda: hi, do you remember you came to Speranzi for a facial? Me: yes, I remember. Yolanda: do you know Mrs XXXXX? Me: never heard of her. Yolanda: well, her credit card has a charge on it and I was wondering if maybe you know her and you borrowed her credit card and forgot to tell her? Me: are you kidding me???? I paid with a Groupon and cash!!! I cannot believe the nerve of her! She straight out accused me of being a credit card thief! And, why was she conducting some sort of clandestine half-hearted 'investigation'? If you have an unauthorized charge on your card you contact the card issuer and they conduct the investigation. Yolanda is the best. I am extremely picky about my skin creams, I am both a nutritionist and an author. I was very stressed out and my skin was dry, lacked collagen, even with my background I was still having problems. I googled several facial spas in the area, I was just about to go to a major franchise, and then I called Yolanda. I chose Yolanda because she backs her care as she is the owner, she has a science background and has formulated special remedies based on the clients issues. This was my first trip to a facial spa, she spent time on the issue I was having, she formulated a plan, I attended 4 sessions. This is no joke, I lost at least 10-15 years after the 4th treatment. It's amazing. I knew I was doing the right things internally, it was the external layer of my skin and the stress was destroying it, but Yolanda formulated a plan and fixed it. Skin has never looked better. I also use her own formulations at home. She also recommends other home remedies as well. I found this spa online and saw good reviews so came for a facial. The owner, whom is very nice, suggested I get microdermabrasion to smooth out my uneven texture so I booked 5-sessions based on a deal she offered. The first session was good. I felt she gave me a lot of info and she spent a lot of time on my skin after the microdermabrasion. I was surprised to learn she doesn't do extractions, although her website says that extractions are included. The following appointments were not as good as the first. She ran late with her clients each time and skimped on my hour by quickly performing the microdermabrasion. I felt as though I did not get my money's worth. I even tipped each time so she would treat me good in the following appointments, but that didn't work out to my benefit. I don't see much of an improvement in my skin and at the end of my 5th session she didn't suggest to come back; almost like okay you're done, nice knowing yam which I found a little surprising. Other than that, she also does push her products heavily and I'll admit I was suckered into buying each time. Most of the products did not work for me although her exfoliating cleanser is gentle and nice. I've decided to experiment with other spas for now. read more

The first experience with Speranzi was great. The second time, my daughter was going to go and there was some confusion about the time of her appointment. I had specified a certain time via the online scheduling tool and I ended up discovering, at the last minute, that the scheduled time was different - off by half an hour. My daughter probably didn't see the time change in the confirmation email. I called the spa and I was treated very, very rudely. Not that I expect people in a service industry to bend over backwards for me or anyone else, but there's no acceptable excuse for being unnecessarily abrupt and rude. I've subsequently found another spa and have become a regular there. Their services are fantastic and everyone there is friendly and pleasant. I think Speranzi's services are good, but if you're going to be rude and unhelpful, you won't get my return business. There's a lot of competition in the area. Stay Clear if you are redeeming a Groupon coupon!!! When I called to make an appointment for a facial which I purchased through Groupon, I was surprised at the arrogant attitude of the receptionist. When she asked if this was through Groupon, I was told that there wasn't availability for 2 1/2 weeks. I have booked facials at very upscale spas in San Diego, Santa Barbara, Boston, etc. and never have waited this long for an appointment. She then asked the usual info. but then needed the bar code from the coupon which I found quite unusual. Instead of feeling welcomed to the spa, I felt second rate to those that pay full price. Today I arrived for my previously confirmed appointment to find that I forgot my coupon. Terrible me. Let's remember, however, that I am the customer. Instead of being treated kindly and understanding,(I find it hard to believe that I am the first client that has forgotten the coupon) I was berated and refused the service. This was the same woman I made the appointment with over the phone. Shame on them. I live close to the salon and was looking for a convenient place for routine skin care. Because of her attitude, I will never step foot in this salon again and will not recommend it to anyone based on her attitude towards clients. Spas should be a very enjoyable experience. The front line receptionist at this spa needs to be instructed on how to interact with clients in a much kinder fashion. read more
