I stopped in her looking for a local new sandwich place to get something different. They seemed to have the standard fare and I was not certain exactly what I wanted, so I decided to look around. It is a small, intimate, family owned store located in quaint Southport, great for locals or passerbys to pick up some groceries or other necessities. I saw lots of locals getting a variety of different things. I did spot my fave brand of chips from ME. I also saw that they have an olive oil refilling station. You buy the olive oil and then return and fill the bottle for $12.99-great idea! I may return to inquire if I can sample this brand before purchasing to do this. Most items are priced on the higher end, but a great option if you are in the area. A few parking spaces in small lot but also on street parking. Lovely area with bakery and other places to eat and just walk around. read more

The best Saturday lunches are spent picking up some items from the Spic & Span and having a little picnic at the beach right down the road. Or better yet, picking up some snacks for the boat. Sandwiches are always awesome- and just perfect for what you want. I love their roast beef- it is so rare and just spot on. You'd also be surprised the type of stuff you can pick up here. I went in to get a sandwich and was completely turned off by my experience. The store is a classic upscale and expensive food store but the staff could not have been less friendly. While I'm a well dressed and well mannered middle aged person, I was amazed to have not one but two staff members sternly tell me to not touch something. As I leaned forward to enquire about an order, one person said "don't touch the counter." Soon thereafter I was remonstrated about where to stand. Not that there were signs, plus I was masked and had gloves. A little too big in their britches. And it was expensive. And not much better than a Subway sandwich for less than 1/2 the price. read more

If you're hungry for a nice deli sandwich or wrap and want your money's worth, don't go here. They do not give you any meat on your sandwich. Apparently they have their sandwich meat pre measured for the day but you'll get more bread than meat. It's grossly disappointing and kind of a sham. You'll pay $$$ for a dud sandwich. They should tell people before they order that there's barely any meat on the sandwich. Shame on them. read more

I have been eating lunch from this place for years, virtually every weekday. What else needs to be said. The deli sandwiches are great...you'll literally find anything. But if you really want a great sandwich, ask for Bob at the prepared food counter, find whatever piece of meat they have that day and ask him to make you something nice. He never disappoints. There is something to be said about little stores in a village community. Perhaps they don't like outsiders especially in the posh old money town of southport. Anywho, for overpriced sandwiches I have to say spic and span market doesn't live up. I paid $9.75 for a roast beef sandwich that had less than half the meat. I didn't order a sandwich "half the meat" they just cheat you out of a full sandwich very disappointing. Also, I asked for cheese. Opened sandwich...no cheese. So besides being snooty, overpriced and not making full meaty sandwiches...the store is a cute general store with zero room to move. read more

Completely overpriced!!! Got 4 salmon filets and 2 yogurts---$53.00. Yes the salmon was $20 a pound!!! Bought a roast beef for a holiday, it was $102.00!!!!!!
