We ordered food for pickup. We had an excellent meal from Spice & Tonic - Indian Cuisine tonight. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and very well packaged for takeout. Each item was clearly labeled, which made it easy for everyone to find their meal. The Chicken Biryani had great flavor and spice, the Paneer Tikka Masala was rich and creamy, and the Mushroom Masala was outstanding. The Garlic Naan was fresh and perfectly cooked, and the Aloo Tiki Chaat was a great starter with excellent texture and flavor. You can tell the restaurant takes pride not only in the food itself, but also in presentation and takeout quality. One of the best Indian takeout experiences we've had in the area. 2/21/26 (carry out) I ordered chicken tikka masala with basmati rice and garlic naan. The chicken tikka masala was bland. The sauce was tomato-y but not creamy. I ordered it mild and although at most Indian restaurants I've frequented mild is still pretty spicy, this mild was not spicy at all. There was a lot of chicken but it was dry and chewy and I believe there was some dark chicken which I am not used to in chicken tikka masala. I am not positive about this because I did not eat enough to be absolutely certain. The basmati rice was not memorable. I could not taste much garlic or butter in the naan. It was thick and chewy instead of thin and crisp on the edges. I really wanted to love this close and local Indian restaurant! I wanted to be able to support this new business endeavor and put it on my list of regular restaurants. But I ate only a few bites before I was disappointed. This was carry out and sometimes that can make a difference. But we don't live far and the food was wrapped and packed appropriately. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Spice & Tonic, unfortunately. read more

Spice and Tonic is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants I've tried. I had the Palak Paneer, Tandoori Chicken, Raita, Garlic Naan, and a Mango Lassi. Every dish was absolutely delicious, and the food tasted incredibly fresh--the freshest Indian food I've ever had. The naan was soft and flavorful, and the Mango Lassi was the perfect complement to the meal. I'll definitely be back! read more

I have been to this restaurant now 4xs! Everytime is delicious and our new favorite Indian restaurant!! The service is great very kind, sometimes the meal can take awhile but I don't mind since it's fresh!! My favorite is the veggie Briyana w/veggie yellow Dahl and the peshwarmi nann and a side of the mango chutney! Omg the best!!!! My husband has tried different dishes and liked them all. This last visit the hubs ordered the goat curry and said it was amazing and his new favorite!! The place is clean too! Brand new place in the old Pei Wei location in Highland Village is Spice and Tonic. They might by now have their liquor license, but when we visited they did not have it. The story we heard is that the family moved down from Minnesota (dad retired) and started this family business here in Dallas. I'd say it's pretty good food, with a very nice staff. They were very helpful in explaining the foods to all of us: me, wife, two teenage daughters. They do have a lunch menj that I would recommend if this is your first foray into Indian food. Plates come with the meat and sides, as well as a bite of dessert. We ordered a few meals off this list and then I also ordered some biryani off the main menu. $15-16 for lunch and the biryani is $19. You can order the spicy level that you want, but it's also safe to order it mild and then have some of the spices on the side to add as you like. Nothing like that cool yogurt side to cool down the taste buds!!! Environment is nice and the tables are spaced out. All the furniture as I mentioned is brand new so it's a pleasant and relaxing space. Worth a visit at whatever level your Indian food experience is. read more

Wanted to give this new Indian restaurant a try in Highland Village. Went in on a Sunday evening and the place felt dead. We were pleasantly greeted at the door and service overall was very polite and friendly. As someone who has eaten Indian food from multiple Indian restaurants I had to give this 4 stars. I love this place! The service is great and the food is always amazing. Our server is always willing to make suggestions or explain something on the menu if you want to try something new. I have tried this restaurant at least 3-4 times with good experiences. However, tonight's experience was not good. I usually order the beef vindaloo, rice biryani and garlic naan. They recently changed the beef and it was so tough that I could not eat jt. The vindaloo was not a curry but a watery mess. This was an expensive 50.00 take out dinner so I think I will consider other restaurants next time. read more

Spice & Tonic is a welcome place, as we are limited in our Indian Food choices in this area. It's a lovely restaurant with white tablecloths, roomy booths and a bar area, in the works. We tried the non-veg assorted appetizers, which was abundant enough for 4. Hubby had the Chicken Makhani and I had the Lamb Vindaloo. Several spice levels are available. The breads were phenomenal, fresh out of the tandoor! Do not miss ordering the garlic naan. Can't wait to go back and try something new on their expansive menu. Super attentive service. read more

Ambiance is nearly formal but relaxed for diners. The restaurant is very clean with no excess odors or aromas, just clean, fresh air for those who may be sensitive. Service is very prompt and friendly, perfect for those interested in exploring the well organized menu. I recommend the samosas (always order the veggie) and the garlic naan. Happen to be nearby and decided to try it out We had the tandoori chicken, plain naan bread, palak paneer. We were very pleased with all of it. The atmosphere is a little more upscale for a strip mall restaurant. Carpet on the floor, white table cloths, and nice booths and table tables. The restrooms are very nice and clean. Overall the look of the restaurant is very nice. We came for lunch which allowed us to order the thali , and try a couple of things. The tikka chicken was good with right amount of flavor. I got medium on the spice level , but I would go higher next time. The chicken and veggie curry were ok. Love the yogurt , naan was excellent and rice was perfect. Try the mint side condiment is so good , I can put that on everything. Samosa is huge has the veggie one and it had plenty of filling. Service was great , very helpful and personable. Love that we have a good Indian food spot in this area that was lacking in options. Priced well with good portion size. Come and support a new family owned business. read more

We ordered take out and everything was delicious! My husband said it wasn't busy in there at all so he was a little worried, but after tasting everything, he wants to go back for more! We had naan which was excellent, the chicken tikka masala was so good and you actually get a lot of chicken with the sauce (another Indian restaurant gives you a lot of sauce, but very little chicken). The samosa chaat was delicious as was the chicken kabob as was the vegetable biryani. The 3 sauces were so good. I ordered everything Medium spice and that was enough spice for me! Cute restaurant with ample parking. A group of five of us came in for dinner. Ordered samosas, lentil soup, three different flavors Naan, beef korma, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, coconut curry and gulab jamun. All of the dishes were excellent. The outside does no justice to the inside appeal of the restaurant. It has an upscale casual feel and BTW it's very clean. The chai was served in a generous size mug and the lunch special was delicious. I chose the one with lamb and butter chicken. The naan was soft, thick and very fresh too. First Time visit, but definitely NOT our last. For having just opened, they already have a great operation and system in place. Staff was EXCELLENT and well attentive and made sure everything was to our satisfaction & would even take time to talk to us and answer our questions about their new restaurant. Our server was Sean (sorry if I spelled wrong) and we would ask for him the next time we visit. He made recommendations & told us about some of their menu items that we were not familiar with. In addition to having a large menu of both vegetarian and non vegetarian North Indian cuisine, they also had a nice selection of Indian beers. The wait staff went out of their way to be attentive.
