Had catered food ordered by our friend .loved their goat meat .Very tasty not too oily . Also there was a special dish made with eggplant and poppy seeds. Delicacy of Bengali cuisine. Full of flavor I would have added a bit more poppy seed paste to the eggplant . Their samosas were ok. Not crunchy. The costing of the samosa was not crispy at all .inside was uncooked . Tandoori chicken was good . I would have preferred it s bit more moist .

Quick and tasty Indian food ready to go easy parking open Thursday through Saturday focusing on lunch. The only place in Bethesda with a decent lunch price. The butter chicken nice richness and flavor and good butchery.

Belly filling flavorfull quality eats! Found this place on yelp and was pleasantly suprised by tasty authentic offerings. Basically everything on the menu looks good and is freshly prepared while you wait. Went with combo, kabobs and Shrimp Pokora which came with rice and bean dish. Meal was satisfying and definitely recommended if youre in the area. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Plenty of selections in the buffet trays adjacent to the small informal resturant dining area provide visual while you wait. Prices seem average and be sure and check hours before visitng.

"you better give this place 5 stars!" - my friends after a buffet lunch today. We came based on my neighbor's recommendation, and he didn't steer us wrong! While the buffet is small (smallest I've ever been to), the quality is top notch. When we first walked in, there were only two other people. However, several people from all over (as far as an hour's drive) walked through the doors while we were dining to pick up food from here. THAT'S how good the food is. I actually loved that it was on the smaller side because I was able to try, and truly appreciate the flavor in, each individual dish, instead of forgetting what I had eaten halfway through the meal. Parking can be a bit of a nuisance at lunchtime on Saturdays since it shares a lot with the Dutch Market, but don't let that deter you.

First time trying Spice Grill! The store was very authentic, and the food were very delicious and rich in flavors. They have big parking garage in front of the store which is a huge plus! The lady at the cashier was very nice and friendly. The food came with a bowl of rice (it is just not in the picture.) I will definitely try again, but I just wish the portion is little bit bigger :)

I'm not an Indian food connoisseur by any stretch, but this lunch buffet was worth the 10 bucks. I can't name anything I had on my plate, but everything I had was generally good. The food was flavorful, although some dishes could use a little salt. Their take on rice pudding was interesting. I could taste ginger and some other flavor that I've never had in rice pudding before. It was pretty good. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the red chicken. Again, I have no clue what it is or how they prepared it, but you'll know it when you see it. We were the only ones there during our visit, so at first I was a little suspicious about the how good the food was. Fortunately, in this case, looks were deceiving. There were so few people probably because everyone was next door at the Dutch Market. Anyway, good food, good price and full belly: It's a 'yes' from me.

I stumbled upon this place on my way to the dutch market. Saw the lunch special and thought, 'why not?' So glad I did!! The indian spiced fry fish is absolutely delish and my parents love the fried tilapia. You can tell fish is very fresh and does that have that odor that fry fish sometimes have. I crave this so much now and had been ordering every week. The owner is very nice and friendly also. Considering its a fish dish, I'm really surprised at how affordable it is. Probably going to order again this week bc just talking about it is making me crave it again.

Take out! Madras curry and chicken malai Tikka and peshwari naan.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. It opened up just a month ago and I was checking out their menu online. They moved from Rockville to Germantown. I was in the mood for some kabob and figured it was worth checking out. It's located next to Mr. K and the Dutch market on Wisteria. Ample parking spots. We got there and while the decor isn't fancy, it was neat and clean and casual enough. We were promptly seated. Browsing the menu we ordered the chicken pakora, a peshawari naan, chiken malai tikka and karahi gosht (lamb) - the latter two came with rice. This was for 3 people. The chicken pakora was fine enough, served with two chutneys. Think of it like chicken fingers but indian style. But the Chicken Malai Tikka was SO good. The karahi gosht was not overly spicy and more importantly not drowning in oil like a lot of other indian places. The rice/polao served with those dishes were excellent, and fluffy. And the peshawari naan was soft and delicious. Honestly I can't rave about the food enough. And best of all our bill came out to $34, and we have leftovers. Customer service was excellent- We were offered mishti doi - which is sweet yogurt- on the house. Best of all, there are off menu items available at times, like mughlai parathas which you might need to ask about. And if you know what those are, you know you gotta have it. I plan on going back next week to check those out. If you're in MoCo in Germantown, you *have* to try this place out. Your taste buds will thank you. Not a lot of people know about this place, but whilst we were there the few people who were also there are now regulars because they tried the place and fell in love with the food. Clearly all this place really needs is for people to show up just once, in order for people to be repeat customers.

I don't know!) and dessert. The idli and vada were both great and the sambar and chutneys were a wonderful accompaniment. I particularly liked the sambar - it was great with the idli. The biryani was great too, but way too hot for me. My friend liked it though. The chicken was juicy and tasty and the rice was deeply flavorful.

Sometimes, there is just so much to say that one is left agog -- and so it is for me with this place! I've been several times and to say I've never been disappointed with anything here at all would be an extreme understatement. I just don't quite know how to best sum it all up, so I have hesitated and put off writing this review. It is a place I know I can go to with much anticipation and have my high expectations upheld. The name is very fitting! Some places may say they are royal, and you could be left feeling ... less than that. This is not that kind of place. You will be made to feel like royalty here! I've tried so many things, I cannot remember them all -- but I do know that I love the Dal Makhani! It's one of my all-time faves, being so rich and creamy, mmm .... The Mango Lassi comes beautifully presented and literally dripping in dark orange goodness against the lighter milky-mango look of yoghurted-up blended mango ripeness! (Don't worry, the drips are all inside the glass!) The starter crunchy rice crips are very fun and tasty, as well. It's overall just really exquisite, what can I say? Very highly recommended -- a total, all-around Yay! :-D

The restaurant has nice decor and a promising selection of menu items, but the execution of the traditional dishes fell short of my expectations. The Highlights: Timmur Chicken Wings: Absolutely amazing. The flavor profile was excellent and easily the best part of the meal. The Disappointments: Thukpa: I have very fond memories of this dish, but this version was highly disappointing. They altered standard ingredients and added fish oil, which is definitely not characteristic of traditional Nepali Thukpa. Momo: While the dumplings themselves were okay, they were let down by the sauce. What makes a Nepali momo superior is the specific, vibrant momo sauce (achar), but the sauce served here looked and tasted like a generic, store-bought version. Overall Verdict:While the menu features an appealing variety, the execution misses the mark on authentic Nepali cuisine. It has great potential, but they need to stick to their authentic basics.

It's not fancy on the outside, but the food and service were just first rate. We started out with a delicious mango lassi and pretty good chai hot tea, then launched into an apps round of chicken momos and veggie samosas. I was very excited to see they served momos, as we've both been big fans at other Himalayan restaurants for a few years; these were just as good, being light dumplings with a savory filling and served with that deeply flavored yellow chutney sauce. The samosas were better than most we've had, with a lighter envelope and less potatoes in the filling. Included were the sweet dark chutney and the green cilantro-based chutney. We also tried the rosemary garlic naan and the onion kulcha, both fresh, soft and hot. Our mains were the lamb saag and Madras chicken curry, both excellent -- the lamb tender in a creamy thick spinach sauce, and the chicken curry big chunks of white meat in a memorable savory stew. We didn't specify spice levels, and the curry was zippy but perfectly palatable for both of us. This was a lot of food, and we continued to enjoy it as leftovers for the next few days. For all of this, our bill came to only about $75 before tip. The restaurant was quiet when we were there, with one other large table occupied. The service was quick and attentive. The atmosphere is spare but clean. We'll be back!

Even the recently opened and popular Karahi Boys in Sterling, VA made a somewhat disappointing chicken karahi (although their goat karahi was on-point). Not here though. This place offers three karahi options or styles- makhani/butter, Shinwari, and Butt- with chicken or goat meat. My wife and I picked the chicken Butt karahi and a side of the Lahori chana/chickpeas. The order took around 25 min to fulfill, but it was well worth the wait. The karahi was wonderful with a wonderfully coated thick gravy that clung very well onto the chicken, with the ubiquitousness of warming savory peppery spice in each bite, hiding a slight hint of sour-sweet note that would come at the back end, and made us forget about the disappointing ones we'd eaten previously. The Lahori chana, like many of the chickpea preparations in Northern India and Pakistan, was perfectly spiced with that effervescent note of the baking soda in which the chickpeas were cooked. All in all, a wonderful afternoon meal at a spot that is highly likely to be very frequented by us often. The goat karahi, charga, and rest of their BBQ menu will definitely be on our agenda next. If there was something to rue about, it was the lack of clientele when we went around 1:30-ish pm on a Saturday- not exactly lunch hour but we'd have expected to see more people there (although people were coming in sporadically for pick-up orders). I will highly recommend this place to people to go and try some wonderful Pakistani cuisine and keep the place in business. I, however, will advise against ordering any of the typical North Indian/British Indian staples, like butter chicken or tikka masala even if they're on the menu. Ask the wait staff for recommendations and focus on the Pakistani BBQ and karahi, which is what they're famous for and you'll have a much better experience.
