Only been here for lunch buffet. It is reasonably priced. Service is good. Naan is good. Food is good. So all is good but nothing that I will say impressive. It is typical Americanized lunch fare so don't expect anything exotic. Lots of choices for Indian food in the area so it it is only one of many in my rotation. read more

Spice Grill offers one of the best Indian cuisine restaurants at a relatively cheap price. Food is always cooked well. Although the food quality is not the best, the overall meal is always delicious. I come here often for dinner with my family. I usually order dal malkani or tandoori chicken. Those two are my favorite dishes here. Not sure what all the rave reviews are for. we went there last night. ordered the chicken vindaloo and chicken tikka masala. the sauces were great but what made the experience not so good was the chicken was gristly! kept taking gristle pieces out of my mouth as I was eating it. samosa's were good. so was the naan. but the main course was awful. you are better off going to saffron or mehndi. read more

Decent! The space is extremely cramped and extremely unorganized. The spice grill shrimp is the most measly portion of shrimp smothered in sweet and sour sauce.. however the entrees are definitely good! The chicken tikka masala as great, the chicken was moist and the sauce creamy (as it always should be) 3 stars for it being crampy and for the odd patrons that kept staring at us the whole time (we were the only white people in the place, lol) read more

My wife and I are willing to drive over 30 miles to eat at the Spice Grille. We've never once been disappointed. I've been to many Indian restaurants & this one is the best by far. On Sunday they have a buffet that is outstanding. The lamb, goat or chicken is always so tender & the flavor is outstanding. The vegan dishes are also delicious. The service is also superb. This is a HUGE, nicely decorated new-ish restaurant that I visited for a buffet lunch. I would imagine that the space would be attractive for large groups. The food was unexceptional. The service was plentiful (as in lots and lots of staff wandering about), but neither efficient nor discerning. At least some of the food in the appetizer section ("chili chicken") appeared to be recycled, and was actually inedible. Perhaps it will get better over time, but I am in no hurry to return. read more

This is NJ.A state full of good Indian cuisine restaurants.The kind of service and food we experienced at Spice grill was beyond belief. We have been living in montville for 4 years and always been going to Chand Palace /Amiya in the neighborhood.Spice grill was the only Indian restaurant we were staying away from due to friends' comments.As we are moving to a different city in Jersey, thought of trying it once as it is somehow always full. As soon as we entered, the waiter turned his face away (to avoid greeting and to show he doesn't care about the clients and he is frustrated of his job!). We chose the table ourselves and nobody comes for 15 min to take our order or ask us if we are ready (normal in all restaurants). As soon as we tell him that we have a groupon, he makes a face and dissapears for 30 min after taking the order. Anyways, food comes in.We ordered simple veg manchurian, hakka noodles, kadhai paneer, naans etc.Everything was so pathetic and bad that I hardly could believe I was eating in Jersey. Stay Away!!!Go to Chand Palace/Amiya and get the worth for your money(just that Chand Palace is veg) read more

We bring our kids here (they are all under the age of 10) and introduced them to Indian cuisine. It is now one of their favorite places, thanks to the wonderfully hospitable staff, the amritsari fish (glorious texture), mango lassi, chicken tikka masala, naan and paratha, saag paneer. I love it because I routinely encounter whole chiles, cardamom pods, anise seed, bits of cinnamon, which account for the way the flavors are so lively within the food. So different from when restaurants do the cheap easy thing with mass produced powdered spices. The lentils are amazing and really, you should try items off the Sino-Indian portion of the menu to sample some real global fusion. Chinese food travels everywhere and adapts to the places it ends up. Here's a chance to see how it manifested in India and travelled to America. read more

I loved the Lamb Bhuna at this place. The lamb was cooked well and spice level was perfect. It was served with a Nan fresh out of the Tandoor. The buffet spread is good as well and has a wide variety of items including South Indian items such as Dosas. read more

Authentic Indian at a reasonable price. Parsippany is saturated with Indian restaurants because of the predominant Indian community in the area so the amount of choices is overwhelming. I studied in India during college and ate the best of the best while I was there and I was hopeful to find a reputable place when I returned. I soon noticed driving through Rutgers Village strip mall daily that most of clientele frequenting this establishment were Indian natives. On any given day of the week I would see Indian women dressed to impressed in their colorful sahris and the men dressed up as well to dine here. After witnessing the large volume of people that flock here regularly I knew I had to try it. I was blown away.The Spice Grill's cuisine took me back to the time of my life. The food is flavorful and there is always a variety of choices. If you're looking for quality authentic Indian, this is the place to go! read more

Went there with high expectations, but was sadly disappointed .. The Gobi manchurian we ordered was just fried gobi with tomato sauce, I have had so much better than this.. The garlic naan made me sick.. had a upset stomach for a loong time after eating it..It was terrible, probably they added too much soda to make it fluffy..I would rather go for good food than fluffy!! Went there several times and food was pretty good. However got a table near the kitchen entrance a couple of days ago and was able to see inside as waiters entered and exited. After reading lot of good reviews and hearing the food was good there, We had booked their party hall for lunch, the time slot was between 12-3 and they served the food @ 2:50 PM almost at the end of the time slot. the rice they served was half -boiled ,It is poorly managed, i am not sure about their regular dine-in restaurant , i would not recommend anyone to book their party hall. read more

Let me start by saying I'm not an Indian food aficionado, I just recognize great food when I taste it. Spice Grill offers flavor packed, quality dishes at a terrific price. I just returned home after enjoying the lunch buffet for $11, what a tremendous deal! Everything I sampled was divine, and none were too overly spiced as to completely overwhelmed the dish. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, never leaving my water glass empty or even half full for that matter. My only slight issue is that the chicken in the tikka masala could be a bit firmer and less fatty. It tasted a little too chewy for my taste but very good nonetheless. After speaking with the hostess I learned that the non vegetarian options on the daily buffet typically remain the same but the vegetarian dishes are frequently shuffled. I am looking forward to trying their aloo gobi next time around. Overall this is a can't miss bargain gem, I will certainly be back and I implore all of you to give it a try as well. read more
