The reviews of this place don't lie. The food here is so authentic, fresh, and flavorful, the recipes are definitely right. I ordered the chicken shawarma and fried fish platter, falafel balls, and banana pudding. I basically judge a place based on their falafel and these were SO good! The platters were giant portions and I ate the food over 2 days. The service was great, the woman running the front was honest and said the food would take a while because they were really busy, but she made it within 15-20 min so it felt just right. And whoa, that banana pudding is one of the BEST I've ever had! Small eat in area as well, but probably more of a pick up/takeout spot. Either way, Amin's is a win!! read more

Visited this past weekend for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. A hole in the wall kind of place with high quality food and service. The woman who took our order was very kind and frequently checked on us after we received our order. She even gave us homemade hot sauce to have with the meal on the house. We got the shawarma wrap and the platter. The platter had a generous amount of white sauce ( normally at other places you would have to beg for that quantity). I will be coming back! read more

Amin's Shawarma & Grill isn't exactly new, but I've only recently discovered it. I wish it hadn't taken me so long. Thanks to social media I saw a video (I think on Facebook or Instagram) of them making a huge crispy shawarma wrap that includes freshly made Egyptian beef or chicken shawarma, hot and freshly cut off the gyrator (I got the beef), pickles, garlic sauce, pomegranate vinegar and tahini. It's grilled until crispy and golden on the flat top and comes with extra garlic sauce and pomegranate vinegar for dipping (which you will want to do!) This is now "officially" my favorite sandwich in New Jersey. I'm a frequent visitor to all the fantastic middle eastern restaurants in the Clifton/Paterson area, and have eaten some seriously great shawarma sandwiches there, but this little restaurant in Pine Brook beats them all. There is also so much joy in the restaurant. The owners are thrilled when a new customer comes in and it makes you want to immediately return. Despite the small size of the restaurant, the menu is quite large. I've only had the shawarma wrap so far, but next time I'm getting the Egyptian Koshary, which has rice, chicken peas, pasta, and is topped with fried onions, and red vinegar garlic sauce. First time eating here - everything was great! The owner greeted us upon arrival, constantly offered assistance during our stay visit, and showed great appreciation for our business. We ordered a few different items so we could try each. Everything was excellent, and flavors were great. The crispy chicken sandwich, although flavorful was our least favorite. The chicken shawarma was my favorite. Desserts were awesome too. Last but not least, prices are very reasonable, decent portion sizes and they have a rewards program. Pretty fast service. So far I've only ordered once but I know I'll be coming back. I can't say I'll go back for falafels but I feel like every restaurant has their star dishes. And here, Koshary was hands down my favorite..but I could also get another serving of their Egyptian eggplant dish Mesaaah. But going back to koshary..where has it been all of my life ?? It's perfect for carb loading and really hits the spot. It was nice of them to put the lemon liquid on the side so you could also tailor it to however authentic you wanted it, I suppose. It was a casual spot and I didn't see much people when I went to pick up my order so I think it's mostly a takeout spot but either way, I would say it's affordable and just all around delicious. read more

I have had the opportunity to go to Egypt five separate times over the years and one of the things that I love the most is the food. The biggest compliment that I could give to this restaurant is to say that if I closed my eyes and was given this food to eat, I genuinely would not know if I was in Egypt or the US. Stopped in at Amin's for takeout and had a great experience! Every dish we tried was excellent, and very reasonably priced. We had Amin's mixed grill (chicken kebob, shawarma, and beef kofta). The kids LOVED the beef kofta - "it's like a hamburger but so much better". They also have a menu of Egyptian specialties, which I can't wait to explore more of. We tried the Macaroni Bechemel, which was absolutely delicious! Besides for the excellent food, the experience was great too - very friendly person taking the orders and offering helpful advice on the menu. Can't wait to return! read more

Where do I even begin with my experience here at Amins Shawarma & Grill? When you first walk in the ambiance is esthetically pleasing. I love the cute signs they have on the walls "Hey Habibi" and "Enjoy Habibi". The owners are so sweet and amazing people and always make you feel welcomed and like family. They have a wonderful variety of delicious eats you have to get your hands on! I love their beef shawarma wrap with extra veggies and extra tahini and their beef cheesesteak! Not only are the main eats amazing so are the yummy sides and amazing desserts and sips too! I really enjoy their Dubai chocolate bar that was recently added to their menu. This is from a while ago and I had gotten chicken fingers with fries and a salad: bought food here and was waiting for my food. Unfortunately, as I was waiting for the chef make my order, there was another employee that showed up that was the skinnier employee and might of been Indian and had said some things about me and I'm the customer like they were bros in making rude comments about me. The skinnier employee was saying things about me while hugging another customer. It was really rude but employee seemed to care less. Very unwelcoming words. Absolutely phenomenal place! Food was so delicious: we ordered all the 4 Egyptian traditional dishes & kofta. Everything was so delicious, even better than in Egypt or in most Egyptian homes I have been. The owners really know how to cook! The place is extremely clean and the owner Susan was so nice chatting with us. She even said to call a head of time if we wanted a particular Egyptian dish to try. She had off menu "molohia" (another Egyptian specialty) my daughter happened to ask for and surprisingly, Susan had it ready! Wished they had more tables for more customers to sit and eat in.
