Vegetable Pakora

So, this place does have some great curries. The mango lassi was absolutely yummy. We got the fried cottage cheese. Dont get it. I think they microwaved it. Wasn't any sort of crunchy. Wasn't hot. We heard the microwave used more than once. So makes us think that ours, and maybe other food, wasn't actually cooked. Just reheated. I got a vegetable curry, can't remember the exact name. Was super yummy. Had potatoes and all the veggies. Some big pieces of green pepper in it. My boyfriend got a seafood and chicken curry. He said the seafood was a tad over cooked, but I can imagine it is hard to get it to cook properly with chicken. He almost put the bowl to his mouth and licked it clean. He was absolutely a fan. For his first try, he now loves Indian food. The Garlic naan. It was super garlicky. That's the best. I want it coming out of my pores. lol. I forgot about to mention, the onion chutney that they give as an appetizer, wasn't that good at all. Just raw onion with some sauce. Their red sauce that comes with the appetizer, wasn't as thick or sweet as other places make it. Was pretty watery. The green sauce. That was yummy. Had a great kick to it.

Really great restaurant that I wish we'd found earlier, always knew it was there just never stopped in. We had the chicken tikka masala and lamb korma. Food came out promptly, was hot, fresh, and just the right amount of spice. I hope this place can stay afloat, nice folks and great food are a pretty good combo. Try a Taj Mahal beer too, nice light lager!

Spice is one of our favorites! The food is always delicious and super consistent. Best Indian food in the valley! The staff is attentive and service is quick! I miss their lunch buffet, hopefully they'll bring it back someday.

After making the drive from Elko to Boise to visit with family, we decided to seek out one of our…read morefavorite cuisines. While many establishments in the area are shuttered on Sundays, Madhuban Indian Cuisine welcomed us with open doors and exceptional hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who seated us and took the time to explain the Punjabi-style traditions they celebrate through their menu. The Food: Tandoori Chicken: My husband opted for this classic, and it did not disappoint. Muttar Paneer: One of my personal favorites--perfectly prepared and flavorful. Naan: We both enjoyed a side of their delicious, fresh naan which tied the whole meal together. The Atmosphere & Service: While our meal was perfect, the evening provided a stark study in human character. The party of three at the table next to us--a mother, son, and daughter-in-law--seemed determined to find fault. They repeatedly berated the server regarding the spice levels of their food, despite having requested those specific levels themselves. The server remained remarkably calm and patient, even as the party made disparaging remarks about his English proficiency--a truly disconcerting display of entitlement. When the younger woman complained of the heat, the server kindly suggested a Mango Lassi to soothe the spice. She snapped back, "You said the food was not going to be spicy, so how should I trust you?" The height of irony came at the end of the night: after a meal spent complaining, the mother told the server, "Oh yes, we will come here many more times." Before we departed, we made sure to apologize to the server for the behavior of those around us. If you are in Boise and looking for authentic Indian food served with grace and patience, please reach out to the team at Madhuban. They deserve your business.

We venture off to this humble abode, and from the moment we walk in, we are stunned by the ornate gold accents on their comfortable chairs, and smile at the beautiful crystal chandeliers that make the room feel like the night sky. The dumplings - pockets of perfection. The pita - browned perfectly. The chicken - f**cking fabulous. I'd drink the green sauce if it was remotely socially appropriate. The kitchen is enshrined with privacy tape, if not for that I'd have watched each dishes preparation to one day hope pray and study that I could make kebabs that tasty. First of all, I came to Taste of Persia today covered in mud. Forgot I had this dinner res right after Mudding. Mud All over. Under my armpits. In my bellybutton, it was everywhere. Taste of Persia? More like Taste of Mud. Make sure to get the veggie dumplings . Dear diary, Sorry I forgot to address you before. The truth is that I lost some brain cells when auditioning for the Cheetah Girls group at my elementary school (we had to do a backhand spring flip walk over to get in... I didn't). Anyways. I had the BEST time at dinner with my REAL friends at Taste of Persia. We laughed, we cried, and most importantly we confessed all of our sins. And to end with balaclava?! So good. Will be back. Xxooxoxo, Me Greetings. It is I. The chair tickler. Sit a while, take a load off, enjoy the delicious beverages. But as soon as you are happy and full from a lovely kabob platter (i recommend the chicken), be prepared for I will appear. Deep in these black and gold chairs I wait. To tickle that special spot in your lower back. You know the one. I'll live for that giggle while we all live for this Baklava. I like the chairs with the tickle holes hehe. To sum it all up, this was one of the best dining experiences in Boise, even above the Stagecoach Inn!!! We ended the night watching fan fic of Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham from the World Cup with the most delicious baklava in our bellies. Couldn't have asked for a better night!!!!

What an amazing lunch my wife and I had today at Bombay Grill…read more We were there for a lunch event and boy are we glad we went. Let's start with my favorite, the butter chicken. The chicken was super tender. The sauce was exceptionally flavorful and the spice level was mild enough to not fry your tastebuds. There were so many delicious dishes (tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, vegetable curry, lamb and so much more) which is not surprising considering the award winning chef. Hasan, the Manager / owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to let us know the history of the dishes we were eating and his family's journey that brought them (thank God) to the treasure valley. This place is a treasure in the Boise area and should not be missed whether you are ordering a phenomenal takeout, having a spectacular lunch or grabbing a one of a kind dinner. If you want a great, flavor filled dining experience you have got to try Bombay Grill

Pros: * They have a nice and popular lunch buffet (which comes with personal fresh naan) * The Naan is decent * The Tikka Masala has a nice flavor * Portions are large * Food comes out fast * They are open on Sundays Cons: * Service can be scattered... sometimes it is good, sometimes inconsistent depending on how busy it is * Music can be a bit loud / high energy * Last few times I was there, I had a lazy fly circling my table * The rice doesn't taste that good... rice is so cheap, so the owners should upgrade to a better basmati for a quick boost in quality * If you want something with any heat, you have to order Indian spicy/hot (as the regular "Spicy" tastes more like medium. I have never ordered above this though so I am worried it might jump to being too hot. * Some of the dishes I find favorable (especially the cream ones, but some of them are a bit bland (like the Vindaloo, Curries and Rogan Josh). They are still enjoyable, but if I order a Vindaloo I want it to pop. Overall, a solid place for dine in or takeout. I would recommend the lunch buffet if you want to try this place out first before committing to a larger meal.
