I had lunch at Simply Thai on 9/7/21 and really enjoyed it. I had been to Simply Thai a number of times but not since they remodeled. The new interior is really nice and I loved the decor. The only thing I observed was limited seating for larger parties so I would recommend calling ahead if you have 4 or more guests. To start I shared the shrimp in a blanket which is sort of like a cross between a fried shrimp and an egg roll and was very good. I also had the tom kha kai soup and Thai drunken noodles for my main course and enjoyed both of those as well. I'd highly recommend Simply Thai for lunch or dinner and especially if you haven't been back in a while! It's very nice! read more

I use to eat here when they first opened . Now they have a new chef and the food was pretty bad. The Tom Soup was mainly water and chili sauce.. it was ridiculously hot. This has been my favorite soup for over 20 years, we switched to the lemongrass soup and the cream in it was split with curds in it. The waitress could not give me the right change because she didn't know the difference between a nickle and a quarter. If you haven't been to this hidden gem in Dunwoody then you're missing out. The aesthetic of the newly renovated interior is beautiful with updated fixtures, tables and chairs, wall art, benches, and plants. Upon walking in you are greeted with the nicest staff. I feel like Pad See Ee can come up short sometimes but this one was super flavorful and had broccoli and carrots in it. My boyfriend ordered the Massaman curry served with white rice. It's a small place that was overwhelmed with three aperture of 6-8 people on a Saturday evening. A party of two came in and they were told it would be an hour wait. Would definitely go again but probably not at a busy time. A little overpriced at $8-$10 for a bowl of soup. $19 for drunken noodles with tofu or curry with tofu. No brown rice option. Simply Thai is still my favorite Thai restaurant in Atlanta. I've been here several times for lunch since my first visit, and food/service has consistently been excellent. They've got a great selection of lunch specials for $6.50-8, which also includes a choice of their coconut or vegetable soup. I've only tried their vegetable soup which has all kinds of goodies swimming in a tasty chicken broth. My favorite lunch specials: Thai Drunken Noodles, Four Seasons, and Penang Curry Chicken. Pad Thai is good, too, but a little too sweet for me. Pad Prik Chicken is pretty good, too. Overall, a great lunch option - the lunch specials, good service, cute place, quick, easy to get to, and enough seating b/c it's still a hidden gem. They can also do separate checks but one downside to remember: you must spend a $12 minimum to use a credit card. I learned about the minimum when I brought a large group of co-workers, and observed several of them buying the Thai salt & pepper shakers (probably strategically placed next to the cashier?) to reach the minimum. I advised the cashier it may be helpful to add the requirement to their menus to reduce any potential customer frustration - she said they would for their next printing. read more

Great neighborhood Thai place! I came here with Chef Justin White and some friends. I tried the thai iced coffee for the first time. They have great thai iced tea/coffee! Then for appetizer I tried their fresh basil rolls. I wasn't a big fan, but they weren't horrible. The peanut sauce is kinda different; less creamy, more nutty, like literally more little peanut pieces rather than a sauce. They added some red sweet chili sauce to the peanut sauce which gave it a spicy tangy flavor. It was interesting! The spring rolls were fresh though. It was just the sauce that was kind of strange to me. I liked the little shrimp pieces in them which are different from the vietnamese places I get spring rolls. For dinner, I got a spicy chicken salad. It was way too spicy for me. But it was fresh and flavorful. It came with a random wedge of cabbage. What am I suppose to do with that?! Awkward. lol. I think they should put carrots or something instead of cabbage. The cucumbers were good, but I didn't really know how to eat them with the vinegarette that is already on the salad. Chef Justin White got the soft shelled crab. I tried a little bit. I wasn't a big fan, but he seemed to love it. Simply Thai Cuisine is not only my favorite place for Thai food in all of the Atlanta but also one of my favorite local restaurants in general. The restaurant has always had fantastic food. Under its new ownership/management they are really taking the cuisine and experience to a higher level! The owners are so personable and friendly. I found out they make everything fresh, daily by hand and all of the cooks in the kitchen are trained chefs. They care deeply about quality and it really comes through in the food. The renovations the new owners have made have really helped make this place feel incredibly comfortable. I love coming here for lunch and dinner. My favorite dishes here are the spicy basil fried rice, flaming basil leaves, green curry and drunken noodles. That being said, everything I have had from this restaurant over the years has been fantastic. Not only are the dishes great but also, they can be made vegetarian and vegan style too! Every person I have ever brought to this restaurant loves their food and virtually everyone in my office on our team is a regular. I can't recommend this place enough. I'm so dissatisfied and disappointed . After my first bite of my dish I knew immediately that this was all wrong. It is at the Simply Thai that I remember many years ago?? Between the beef and broccoli the carrots, everything tasted individual. I did not find any cohesiveness whatsoever, the brown sauce was watery. Nothing complimented the other. Unbelievable. Ordered a simple Pad Thai, waited 35 minutes and then went to pick up. Walked in, eyed my to go on the counter and stood behind plexiglass at cashier station. Simply Thai can be found in the center of an easy-to-miss, somewhat dingy strip mall on N. Shallowford Rd. in Dunwoody. If this is your first time visiting, be on the lookout for the Rite-Aid sign and the strip mall is right next door. I came here for dinner with a group of five others on a Tuesday night and when we arrived around 7pm, the restaurant was mostly empty. The restaurant space is small-to-medium sized and they do have a small bar with a variety of wines and other alcoholic beverages. There is a small TV in one corner of the restaurant and speakers at each corner playing music. OK, now for the important part - the food. We each ordered something different and shared all the entrees: Pad Thai, Masaman Curry with Chicken, Green Curry with Chicken, Sweet Chili, Thai Drunken Noodles, and Spicy Basil Fried Rice. Everyone agreed that each entree was equally as delicious as the others and that's why this place is getting four stars from me. The price of the dinner entrees are about $9 a piece and the Chef's Specials are about $5-7 more. The portion sizes are healthy (as in good for you), so you won't be leaving this place stuffed. The lunch specials look like a good deal. Too bad I don't work around here or else I'd visit for lunch. There are a couple tables outside, so you can eat outside if you want, but the tables aren't that great. Dinner is served 7 days a week, lunch only on weekdays. You can also order delivery or carry-out (we saw a few carry-out orders while we ate here, so it does seem to be popular for that option). Thai owned and operated so that's always a plus. Our waitress and the owner were friendly and courteous and the service was good. In summary, this is one of the better casual Thai eateries I have discovered in Atlanta and their food is just as good as King & I and Thaicoon.
