I'm a tea lover. I bought several flavors at a fair on Austin Street. They're truly excellent. I recommend them 100%. !!!

Good spices but they disappointed me with the convenience fee they charged on my card without informing me about it.

Not sure how I've missed them at the Bryant Park winter market in years past; but I'm quite happy I found them this year.

Instead I stuck to Haribo gummy snacks - i know, also shocking. Appalling even. Last week I had a craving for some fresh fruit so I stopped into the Manhattan Fruit Exchange and grabbed a pack of strawberry's and black cherry's. Strawberry's with sugar are one of my favorite snacks and these are the ripest, juiciest, sweetest strawberry's I've ever tasted. Don't be fooled by the name, Manhattan Fruit Exchange has a plethora of produce ranging from common to hard to find fruits and veggies. Things to know: The space is large and refrigerated so be prepared for the chill or bring a sweater (the workers wear sweatshirts even in the summer). Self serve. CASH ONLY.

The prices are a bit inconsistent: some of their stuff can be expensive, but much of it is pretty cheap by NYC standards. Their spices are cheaper than the last Indian supermarket I went to in Jersey City. So if you have an idea how much things should cost, then you can score some great deals here. $10 minimum for credit card (MC/Visa/Amex/Discover/JCB).

I LOVE Alkaline Electrics Shop! They have every herb you can think of (and some you didn't even…read moreknow you needed). Plus, all their herbs come straight from Jamaica, so you know you're getting the real deal. Whether you're looking for herbs in powder form, regular tea leaves, tinctures, mushroom powders, or sea moss, this place has it all! And let me tell you about their sea moss options, they've got it in powder, premade gel, or dried so you can make your own at home. Now, I'll admit, the shop is deep in Brooklyn, and since I'm usually out in Queens or Manhattan, it's a bit of a trip for me. But honestly? worth it. The staff is super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. They're always ready to help and answer any questions you have which is nice if you're like me and always looking to try new herbs. If you can't make it to the store in person, no worries! They have an online store and an app, so you can easily order from the comfort of your couch. I personally love going in and making it a whole fun trip to restock my herbs, but if you're in a rush, the app is super convenient. If you're into herbs, or even just curious about trying some, I highly recommend checking them out. Hope this one helps !! Happy herb shopping fiends !!!

Both were incredible and I felt immensely better afterwards. I later returned on several occasions and tried their Moon Milk, which is a delicious mixture of turmeric, cardamom, coconut and ashwahganda, the Key to the Garden drink (coconut, nutmeg, cacao, cinnamon and maple), their vanilla chocolate chip cookies and regular chocolate chip cookies. You can get these drinks hot or iced. I had all of them iced! I also had one of the best iced matcha lattes ever from here with sweet coconut milk. WOW. From what I've seen, baked goods change daily and their drink menus change semi often as well, which is exciting!! Outside, there is some seating, lovely items and books for purchase and a window to order, as well as the menu items displayed on boards and items around the space. Inside is quite similar, but with more items for sale and more seating. The vibes are immaculate and this seems to be a space that's community centered and has an emphasis on carrying items made by local artists. Remember to bring cash to tip. I cannot wait until my next visit here!!

You realize it's cluttered with a bunch of knickknacks and other games and accessories that. Some of the items inside look like they're either for sale or just meant for display, which is fine, but I feel like it distracts from the main purpose, which is serving food and being a comfortable resting spot. It's no fault of the place, but the vibe is a mix of reggae, African folk music, and incense, and it contrasts sharply with the environment outside. There's an Italian restaurant across the street blasting Frank Sinatra type music, so the clash is noticeable. I feel like maybe the sound could be adjusted or balanced somehow. As part of the promotion, I ordered the vegan lentil soup. It was okay, nothing special but not bad. Then I was served an iced chai latte, and most of the spices sank to the bottom under the ice. After I swirled it, the spices still didn't have much flavor. It wasn't strong or pungent, and you couldn't really taste the spices or feel any of the digestive benefits chai is usually known for. It didn't taste like tea; it was just mildly sweet. I could see myself drinking it with a dessert, but it didn't stand out on its own. The service was friendly. I hope this place the best and want it to succeed but it needs to literally clean up.
