Visited this restaurant with my boyfriend and his colleague and colleague's wife. I was a little nervous about dining inside but he was really excited about the concept of the restaurant so I agreed to it and I am SO GLAD I DID. I felt safe the entire time. We dined in around 6 so it wasn't as busy during that time. Even as more guests started to show up, we remained socially distant from everyone. Everything was clean and the staff had on masks at all times. Staff in then cooking area also had on gloves. The servers were very attentive but not overbearing. They provided two carafes of water so there was no need to come back. We each tried one of the freshly made juices. They all said their carrot juice was amazing. I got the mint lemonade and it was so refreshing -- I considered ordering another. Our appetizers and dinner were brought out in a timely fashion. I ate the grilled lamb chops and YAL they were so tender and juicy. Their standard is to prepare them medium well but they mention it when you're ordering so you can tell them to cook it a different way if you prefer. I got mine cooked the standard way and loved it. Everyone else spoke highly about their food. The filet came out a little over cooked but the staff resolved the issue immediately with no complaints. I enjoyed how hospitable the entire team was. OH! I almost forgot. The house sauce or pepper sauce is probably the most delicious sauce I've tasted in a long time and you know Black people love our sauce . Went here around 3:30pm and the place was kinda empty since it wasn't rush hour, so we decided to dine in. The servers, chefs and management all wore masks and were very careful during the service to wipe stuff down and not stand close to anyone. Only Peri Peri is being served as of now, the other three restaurants are expected to open service shortly. We were given free chicken corn soup that was hot and tasty. Our group ordered a Peri Peri sandwich, a wrap, a honey garlic sandwich and a 1/4 chicken with fries. The marination was on point, the meat was tender and juicy, the portion was generous, and the coleslaw, wedges and fries were delicious. I did think the onion rings were a tad greasy. Don't ever try with family and specially with kids. The staff is not kind and polite with the kids. They don't have an iota of idea how kids and infants are being treated and handled. We were a group of 12 people with kids. 1. First they were not flexible and comfortable in putting the high chairs for kids as we wanted around the place we were seating as we were a big group. 2. Secondly, my 23 months old was making some noise and screaming few times. Those who have kids would know that this how an infant express himself Untill they speak . He was actually excited seeing lot of new things - people food , chair, etc. but we were asked in rude manner and negative tone to manage and make him quite. P.S. The noise of the utensils ( there are four different restaurants + their kitchens under one roof ) complemented by the music they are playing is more louder than 23 month old scream or shout. I personally had the Tomahawk steak and I just cannot explain in simple words how amazingly tender, juicy, perfect, and delicious it was! I absolutely love this place! I went during Ramadan with a friend and they had their ramadan buffet available. I thought we would still be able to order a la carte but they told us it was going to be a little bit of a wait. As we waited the manager came over to greet us - he was a very nice gentleman and super friendly. He proceeded to take care of us the whole night even though we didn't have any reservations. He found us a table after us waiting for just around 15 minutes. He seated us and at this point we had already given our order. I ordered the ribeye steak and my friend got the crab rangoon and the lo mein noodles. Everything was delicious and cooked really well. The food just lacked a little salt but I let that go because I knew it was ramadan and they might have wanted to be mindful of people's fasting palettes. The owner continuously came to check on us and ask if we needed anything. I never felt so welcome at an establishment in a long time. I will 100% be going back. I went here with three other friends this past weekend. One of the worst experiences I've had with any restaurant. The service was really poor. It took them around 15-20 minutes after we were seated to even ask for our drinks, appetizers, etc. The food was very poor quality. I regret ordering the ribeye. I ordered asparagus as my side and they brought me broccoli and fries as they didn't have it. This was a recurring theme as they didn't have around half the menu available. If you asked for a T-bone steak, asparagus, many different items they would say it wasn't available. While we moved on to desert they started bringing us the same food we ordered initially, AGAIN! When we told the server that we did not order a round 2, they became frustrated and upset. When the bill came around they tried charging us for the second round of food that we did not even order! They even added in automatic gratuity without notifying us. Overall one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Avoid at all costs. read more

Everything was excessively spicy and there was no quality. We were told upon making reservations that they'd have shinwari and Asian food but there was only chow mein from the Asian menu and that was so excessively spicy which isn't authentic. For $30 per person buffet, you'd expect better food and more quality. Also, the proteins were not refilled and trays were completely removed from the table instead of adding more. They did refill the biryani and other things but not the chicken kabob and other proteins. I came to eat here last night and needless to say, being disappointed would be an understatement. I'll start off with the positives first. The decor was nice and gave the place an elegant feel. The concept of having 4 different types of cuisines is also appealing, particularly when dining with a larger party. To be honest, those are the only positive things to say about this place, and the negative features greatly outweigh what is positive about Spice Village. First and most importantly, the staff members, particularly the wait staff were NOT wearing their masks properly. Being that we are in the middle of a pandemic that is killing hundreds of thousands of people, you would think a new restaurant would follow the legal mandate by the Governor of Virginia where all employees of restaurant establishments are legally REQUIRED to wear a mask at all times, and properly. There were two servers in particularly who came to our table and their masks were sagging below their nose. In addition, there were patrons circling throughout the establishment, passing between tables as they were not yet seated, and they did not have a mask on. Masks are required at all times unless you are sitting at a dining table and eating/drinking. Second, their menus -they were beautiful but during covid-19, they should be utilizing disposable paper menus or QR codes. I know for a fact that they weren't sanitizing their menus after each patron because they were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Also, they advertised the Indian/Pakistani food in the menu but said it wasn't available yet. Given that the majority of their clientele is Desi, they should post on their website that this menu is not available. Third, the food was extremely lackluster. Our order was wrong, but even when the correct order arrived, the food was bland. The Peri-Peri food seems like a cheap knock-off of Nando's Peri Peri and their Chinese food is worse than $5.00 food court Chinese. My sister-in-law ordered their Manchurian chicken and it was NOT true Manchurian chicken. In fact, it looked and tasted identical to Chicken Jalfrezi - the boxed version. Take a look at the Google image of their tacos - Spice Village's image vs. an actual customer's image. They look nothing alike and the shrimp in the actual customer's photo is exactly what their shrimp looks like in person. We even ordered fried rice and it tasted bland and unappetizing. Needless to say, we won't be returning. Also, beware of the many 5 star reviews posted here. As another reviewer said, they are coming from friends and family and are not a true reflection of Spice Village. I highly recommend that management reassess their operations if they want to be successful. They've only been open for 2 months but seem to have it all wrong. read more

ZERO customer services. Everyone seems to be clueless from management to staff as to what is going on the restaurants. We called in reservation, which they refuse to make. Went to the restaurant waited for 45 minutes to get the table. While waiting, we asked if they had steaks we were looking for and they stated yes. Finally after 45 minutes we made to the table, placed the order to only find out that they did not have steaks in available after 15 minutes of placing the order. We changed our steaks to different one and again only to find out that they didn't have that either after 10 minutes. We ended up ordering BBQ items to find out that they completely out of it few minutes later. We finally gave up and asked them what they had available so we can order that and of course Chinese items left. So, we ordered Chinese food for the kids as mild and came out extra spicy. When complained they're were willing to replace but had to wait another 15 minutes. We ended up leaving but were asked to pay for the soda, but owner wouldn't figure out how to charge on the system, so in the ended he let us off the hook for one can of soda. read more

The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and welcoming. However, my family and I were not feeling welcomed there. My niece invited family and friends to her birthday party there, and I was responsible for reserving the table. I called the restaurant a day in advance and asked to make a reservation for 12 adults and 3 kids. I was told that they usually don't make reservations because it is "first come first served" policy, which was totally fine with me, I just wanted to make sure that we would be properly seated. Of which I was assured, with a small possibility of wait, which was also fine. The next day we came and were seated promptly, the server advised us that due to their busyness and COVID-19 rules, our dinner time allowance would be 2.5 hours, which, again, seemed very fair, considering the circumstance. Our dinner was alright, great options, but tasted average, the servers were attentive and helpful. But at some point, they started rushing us to finish our food and leave, because as they said, "there was another family waiting to be seated". Our time allowance wasn't exceeded, on that moment it has been around 1.5 hours, and we haven't even finished our food and wanted to order some tea and the cake, we haven't even paid our bill yet. Let me tell you, I worked at a busy restaurant before, and I know how irritating those overstaying tables can be, but, believe me, our party was not the case. We were asked to leave before our desert has arrived! It was very frustrating experience. I can tolerate average tasting food, poor service, etc., but when they rush you to leave without finishing your food, I will never go back to that place! My parents and I went for the Eid dinner. They only had buffet and steak, which they didn't tell us when we made the reservation. The buffet food was low quality. The naan was cold and not fresh. We asked for hot naan, and the brought it at the end of the meal, so we couldn't even eat it. I got a steak, which I ordered medium, but it was very tough and I couldn't even finish it. They didn't have the side I wanted for the steak either. The customer service was poor. They gave us low quality utensils and one thin napkin each. Omg do not go here! The owner is full of crap! I ordered over the phone and told the lady at the front that I will call back to confirm my order they lady in the front MISTAKENLY put the order in and then when I called back to MODIFY IT since I wasn't sure and didn't pay for it yet after the order was right confirmed and give my payment. Took the family here for my mom's birthday dinner. The options for the menu made it easy for everyone to find something they like. The steak was amazing, so was the chicken with pineapple dish. We also had some of the Chinese food from the menu and that was very tasty as well. Went in to Spice Village yesterday to have a nice sit down lunch with family. I have been there once before and really liked the ambience to take my family back. My party included seniors as well as young kids and just to be safe I called in the night before to ask about reservations/ wait times/ recommendations etc. The customer service I was given over the phone was excellent! Adnan was courteous yet very thorough in informing and explaining the menu to me. With 4 different menus, I was looking for recommendations to help ease the process of ordering. They do not make reservations, and seating is on first come basis, so he suggested a good time for us to come in to make sure we get seated without much wait. I was really impressed with his costumer service, though I could hear the Saturday evening crowd in the back. Come Sunday, my party of 9 was seated promptly and helped very well by the staff. Both Sunny and Riaz were really helpful and prompt with our orders and requests. We got chicken low mein, the crispy chicken sandwich and an Oreo milkshake for the kids. That went down pretty well. My picky little one cleaned up her share of the lowmein and the teen devoured the chicken sandwich saying she was glad she got it! For the rest of us, we got goat biryani, goat makhni karahi and maghaz masala. All three dishes were on point with taste as well as presentation! And the soft pillowy naans were the perfect accompaniment to the entrees! The karahi meat was tender and coated well with the sauce, which was a good balance of heat and richness. Brain masala was also very good and popular on our table. The Biryani was flavorful yet not heavy. Enjoyed by all. We also got a a lychee colada as well as a mango mojito. Both the mocktail drinks had their respective fruity flavors shining through while not being overly sweet. We rounded off our meal with makta chai. It was a good "karak" doodhpati, served piping hot in earthenware cups. A must for chai lovers! For some reason, no one thought of taking any pictures yesterday- I guess the food looked too tempting for us to think of pictures haha! Overall a great experience! We experienced really bad service and even worse food. We went there as a group of 6 people. The place was almost empty when we got there. To start off they brought water in pitchers that were dirty. No big deal, we weren't going to drink that anyway. Between ordering food and getting served, it took many attempts of having to get up and go find help. They brought 1 person's food out first and after 25 minutes brought rest of the food, which was still missing few items. We also didn't have plates, so it took more time to get started. Once we started eating we realized they mixed up the steak doneness for 1 of the 3 steaks. They also messed up the burger orders. We ordered American burgers we always get at the peri peri location in Alexandria. They gave us different burgers. Then they took back the burger and took 20 more minutes to bring it back only to have it undercooked and without any spices at all. Their Chinese menu items were very bad. The orange chicken was stale, noodles were badly cooked as well. And many more mess ups to mention. Overall a very bad experience, yet they charged a 18% service fee for the super bad service that they gave us. Our subtotal was $225 and we were charged $40 service fee. Which is fine if they provide good experience. But there is no difference in their restaurant and fast food in regards to service. Zero. My advice to owner and management: I have been to your peri peri in Alexandria and your Chinese Restaurant in Springfield. You guys don't have any consistent standard. One day your food is good and one day is it's bad. With Spice Village, you give the impression that it's a high end restaurant, but no, it's a joke! read more

He said he recently started this restaurant and we will get good service etc. Anyway we ordered appetizers first, it was served but no plates. We had to call the server to get us the plates (looks like they are not trained). The food came and it was good. I like steaks so I ordered T-bone steak, it was good but too big and expensive. Why not offer smaller size, or multiple sizes so people can order the size they want. But anyway, all I want to say is that the food was good but service was not good. On top of that they add service fee to the total. Service fee should be customer's choice to add the amount they want, but they add it on their own. We also ordered by UberEats multiple times (because my family like their food) but every time they missed something and when I tried to call them they never answered their phone. Why don't they read the order correctly. Also some of the sauces were spilled in the bag so that means they didn't pack it well. I would say food is good but service is not good. Finally settled on something that would take 20-25 minutes. 40 min later I asked what was going on and then told the oven wasn't on and no naan bread available. Would be 10 minutes, then 10-15 minutes. Finally, got my money back. Can't say if the food was good because I didn't see any. When there is a delay, and clearly if the oven is off they know there is going to be a delay, they should give options to the patron right away instead of letting time pass. read more
