Who would have thought this cute little drive through spot offers such killer bagel sandwiches? My husband and I needed sustenance before making our way to the Zoo Safari Park and rolled up to this gem. we opted for: - a medium iced OTP - cold brew on tap, cinnamon simple syrup and oat milk - a bacon, egg and cheese on a habanero bagel + avocado - traditional bacon, egg and cheese on a plain bagel ....and OMG! So, So good!! My coffee was the perfect blend of sweetness to coffee, and the sandwiches were HUGE - freshly made eggs with thick cut bacon and an entire avocado - absolutely delicious!! We both ate half of our sandwiches before feeling like we were going to burst! While it was a little pricy (1 coffee + 2 Sammie's = $50!), it was worth it and I'd totally return!

I visited twice when in OB for the week. I like how you can just walk up to the counter and order. Service was good both times. First time I tried the strawberry lemonade and it was really good! I wanted it again on the second visit, but they were out of it at 8 am. Only other option was orange juice and I declined. The blueberry muffin is sooo good! The cream cheese is very flavorful as well, we even got some to take back to Vegas. I'm not a fan of the bagels. They are too dense and chewy for my liking. I even tried to make them super crispy in the air fryer and didn't really make a difference.

This breakfast sandwich was delicious. I'm not always a huge fan of the cofffee options but maybe I just need to explore the menu more. The food is always super tasty though. Love how convenient it is to walk here in OB.

First things first, these ladies rock! Service was great. It was my first time, they offered all the options from cold foam to sandwhiches. They had monthly specials for February I think one is chocolate covered strawberries iced coffee and then some sort of matcha! I ordered just a drip coffee and a sandwich with Sun Diegggoo sandwich with pizza bagel. It was by far, the best bagel sandwhich I've had in a long time! My sister-in law got a chocolate covered strawberry ice coffee. They have a nice seating area bar kinda and side of the building seating. The area is quiet and calm. I would say it wasn't busy. They had to go orders and food took a minute to come out, but was worth the wait!

Sandos made to order here so fresh bagels and ingredients of your choice! Charming, helpful, polite staff! Beans are so good! The drive thru is such a bonus as is all the outside seating and charging stations! Plenty of parking and accessible too! Love the color palette and the beach casual vibe!

The second hair I found. Yum. ‍

Ordered the San Dieggo bagel sandwich, it was super tasty at first....until I got to the hair stuck between the eggs and bacon. Decided to stick it out since I was hungry, until I found the second hair and spit the rest of the sandwich out. Usually finding hairs isn't the worst thing in the world (yes its gross but we're only human) but more than one suggests there's more. Needless to say, ill be eating elsewhere. Also, the chick with short hair working the front was rude off the get go. Who tells people they don't serve iced coffee at a coffee shop. There are better mom and pop places in ob, try Bellas or Vals.

Sam Dieggo. Not the best photo, but I was hungry and it was delicious!

This is a cute little drive-thru coffee shop. I went through the drive-thru, as I left I saw another side/window for walk up ordering and some outdoor seating. Service- 5/5 She was kind, helpful, professional, and had a chill vibe (which I appreciated). I had like 20 questions. Coffee- 5/5 I had the blonde mocha which was delicious; not too sweet, and the coffee was tasty. Bagel- 5/5 San Dieggo BBLt They were both scrumptious, they didn't skimp out on the bacon either. Bagels were fluffy, lightly crunchy, and soft on the inside. Prices- I bought 3 bagel sandwiches and an iced coffee and paid $50. I paid for quality and was satisfied/full. I feel like that's the going rate for fast food in this economy. I will definitely be back to try the assortment of bagels, spreads, and more coffee. Side note: This place only accepts card. I didn't have my card and only had cash. The worker went inside to ask if they'll accept and they did. Now I know for next time, thanks for helping me out! My photo isn't the best, I wanted to take a photo before I finished it. San Dieggo with bacon and white cheddar bagel.

    Thighmaster and chagaccino

I ordered an iced oat milk chagaccino and a thighmaster on sesame The chagaccino was a delight. Absolutely fire. Gas. Yum city. I felt like emmet in the first scene of the Lego movie. #everything is awesome. THEN I opened up the behemoth that is the thighmaster. JEEEEZ I was sweating. I had to take it home and eat it with a knife and fork. I also wasn't expecting the sheer amount of garlic aioli oozing out of the sides and making the bagel eating experience sloppy as heck. Let's put it this way- the flavors were all there and good. But the assembly was goopy. I the thesaurus. Turns out there is such a thing as TOO MUCH SAUCE. I thank God for this food, and I hope next time I have more napkins, amen.

I know I can't be the only one because I heard it loud and clear the moment I read it. I always stop by this place since I discovered it last year when I visited Seaport Village. The last time I was here, I was barely getting introduced to coffee and had my usual (iced vanilla latte with oat milk) but I like to try something on the menu when I find a cute little place while exploring. I'm glad I stuck to that because Basic Sitch was DELICIOUS, I wish I had gotten a medium. Props to the guy at the register because I kept going back and forth attempting to order but while waiting for family to join me and trying to get my smaller kiddos to calm down, I was everywhere and he was very patient once I finally went up to order. He was friendly and polite. Perfect weather to enjoy an iced coffee for the long drive back home.

We walked into a modern space with a clean, inviting layout that makes it easy to stop by for a quick pastry or pick up a few things to share. The selection is one of the biggest draws, with everything from classic Japanese breads to savory items that make it feel like more than just a dessert stop. The display cases are well organized, and the visual appeal of the baked goods adds to the experience before you even order. The pastries are where ASA Bakery really stands out. The curry pan is one of the highlights, with a crisp exterior and a savory filling that makes it a satisfying snack rather than just a bakery item. The croissants are also worth trying, especially the matcha croissant, which has a buttery flaky texture with a matcha filling that adds a slightly earthy flavor without becoming overly sweet. The matcha comes through clearly, and the croissant itself is well laminated, with the right amount of crispness on the outside and a soft, airy interior. The melon pan is another classic option that delivers the soft bread interior and lightly sweet cookie-like topping that makes it a staple in Japanese bakeries, staying true to the traditional version while feeling freshly made. The savory menu adds another reason to visit, especially the katsu sandos. The cutlet sandwiches have a nice balance between the crispy fried filling and the soft bread, making them one of the more memorable items on the menu. The bread stays soft and pillowy, and the cutlet holds its crunch even against the sauce, which is a detail that often gets overlooked. Items like the hojicha latte and other drinks pair naturally with the pastries, making ASA Bakery feel like a place where you can sit down and enjoy a full café break rather than just grab something quickly. The drink menu is thoughtfully curated and complements the baked goods without competing for attention. Service is friendly and the bakery has a welcoming atmosphere, although popular items can sell out depending on when you visit. The staff are knowledgeable about the offerings and happy to guide you through the selection, which is helpful given the range of choices. The shop gets busy, especially during peak hours, so going earlier gives you the best chance to see the full selection. The pace of the visit stays comfortable even when the line forms, and the team handles the flow efficiently. ASA Bakery is a great spot for anyone looking for Japanese-style baked goods with a mix of sweet and savory options. The combination of quality pastries, unique flavors, and a comfortable café setting makes it a place worth returning to, whether you are picking up a quick snack or settling in for a longer break. It delivers on both the familiar classics and the more creative offerings, leaving you with the sense that you have found a bakery that takes its craft seriously.

I got the island boi sandwich on a sesame bagel, a maple donut, a strawberry shorty (seasonal), and some ube donut holes. Service was very transactional, so there was nothing standout but also nothing bad to say. The store is in North park, so naturally parking is a nightmare, but since I ordered ahead, I just used one of the 15 min parking spots out front. I was in and out so I didn't stop to really check out the shops decor either. The good: the breakfast sandwich was phenomenal, the crusted spam and garlic chili sauce paired so well with the rest of the flavors. The strawberry shortcake donut, which was filled with a strawberry "cheesecake" filling was very good as well. The donut dough was light and airy, and there was a generous amount of filling. The ehh: I wasn't super impressed with the maple donut, it may just be because most of their classic donuts are vegan, but the texture was strangely chewy to me, and the maple glaze just didn't hit. The donut holes just tasted like sugar coated donuts, I didn't taste any hint of ube/taro, not to mention they are way smaller than the average donut holes (4 for $1). Overall, I highly recommend the breakfast sandwiches, I definitely want to try some of the other specialty ones. As for the donuts themselves, I just don't think the classic donuts are to my taste. I would like to try another specialty one and update eventually.
