I am extremely disappointed with the service at your Mission Blvd Starbucks in San Diego. I requested a simple modification--cold foam made with nonfat milk and vanilla due to dietary restrictions. Instead of attempting to help, I was repeatedly told "we can't do that," with no explanation and zero effort to offer a solution. Mind you, I go to Starbucks 2 times a day, and as you can the receipt shows everyone has no issues but this store. What made this worse was the employee's attitude--smirking and appearing amused rather than providing basic customer service. This was not a request for anything free. It was a reasonable, paid customization that other Starbucks locations have accommodated without issue. Because of this interaction, my husband and I chose not to purchase anything and left feeling disrespected--on the first day of our 30th wedding anniversary. This level of service is unacceptable and not what your brand represents. I expect this to be addressed. read more

Still can't make a drink. Lines still too long. Service still just bad. Drink was made soooo wrong and they didn't care. When they re-made it, it was great but $5.75 for a grande soy chai latte is outrageous - especially when you get it wrong every time. Hey... new CEO. If I could give a zero star I would. On 04/02/2024 My husband and I were visiting and walked up to the window. There was a girl and guy inside talking on their headsets and doing other things. They could see that we were standing there. They refused to make eye contact or say anything to us. We didn't realize they were about to close. Instead of just saying " hey guys sorry we are closing." They just acted like we didn't exist. Absolutely not what I'm used to. Would it have killed them to simply say "sorry, closed." ???? This was a small Starbucks we stopped at while on a short vacation in San Diego. We were staying at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Mariana, and this location wasn't too far from the hotel. The Staff at the hotel recommended this Starbucks for it's proximity. The location is small and definitively designed to compliment the typical hot and sunny days one would expect in San Diego, however we were there in a major rain storm. The location allowed you to place an order through the drive through OR through an outdoor walk up window. We chose to get out of of the car and run to the widow to avoid the longer line of cars. The girl working indicated we couldn't place our order at the window under cover, but rather had to go to the window (kiddy corner) that was outside in order to place our order. I still can't figure out why she couldn't accommodate taking the order while we stood under the covered area, but oh well. Starbucks coffee is a known commodity and the coffee we got was on par with our regular Starbucks visits. A PLUS! I am sure if we were to visit during a summer day, this location would have been great to sit out, people watch and also watch the roller coaster across the street operate at Belmont Park. read more

Do not go here. I'm not sure if the manager isn't training people but if it takes 35 minutes past the time the app says your food will be done on a Sunday morning at 6:30 to get your order, something is seriously wrong. You can't blame staffing, there were at least 3 people working to handle about 8 customers. It wasn't that busy. I ordered at 6:25 and headed over and didn't get my coffee until 6:45. They told me my food would be right out, that they were working on it. they don't call out when orders are at the window, you have to guess when your items are ready and try and get their attention through a window. read more

This has got to be the WORST location ever! They will get your drink wrong almost every time. You will definitely receive an attitude. No one has customer service skills here. BE AWARE - Starbucks or it's staff are "PoS" scammers. Maybe try a local coffee place instead. Read on... We bought 3 drinks, and paid 2/3 with a stored gift card on my app and the rest with my visa card (around $6 bucks...). The cashier scanned the app cards a few times, which seems a bit strange, and then charged my visa card for the rest. I checked receipt while waiting for the drinks and noticed I was charged full amount to my visa card. I checked my app gift card balance and it was ($0.00). I showed the receipt and my card balance to manager, who confirmed my gift card balance was $0.00, and said "that is why we charged the full amount to your other card...". She then warned me of local Starbucks scams that drain stored gift cards at Point of Sale (PoS), and suggested that I be careful when using them.... no resolution of course, so I gave up and let Starbucks rob me about $10.00 bucks in stored value card money and another $10.00 in visa card money... So, paying it forward: Be careful to NOT USE the Starbucks PoS to pay for drinks with Starbucks gift cards or Star Points, since the Starbucks scam is Starbucks ripping off its Customers. But, if you do go for the Starbucks PoS, the store manager only warn you about Starbucks PoS scams and not resolve it; she won't even offer a complimentary drip coffee, or a cake pop, nada, zip, nothing... In Sum - Starbucks' or it's staff are the "PoS" scammers. Be warned if you'll pay twice the price for already overpriced drinks! read more

The WORST Starbucks known to human kind. Third day in a row having my order take 25+ minutes after the app says. Nobody even waiting in line and it's like they just sit in there and laugh while people sit and get mad about waiting half an hour for a simple cold brew. Fire the manager. Now. The folks were fast, patient and kind. They helped me make sure my order was correct when I fumbled through it, answered my questions w the winter menu, and fixed my order at the end when I made a mistake. They were a well oiled machine and had the extraction and space to be kind. read more

Friday about 9:30am 1/10/2020 Pedestrian went through the drive though window cutting me off in line (very dangerous) and staff accommodated her. There's a walk up window for pedestrians but that's awful they enabled her and didn't ask her to order from the correct window. I know they want to give great service but this sets a bad precedence. It's the beach area and if people start going through the drive through window instead of the pedestrian order window, it's a liability for them to get in an accident with cars that are ordering at the drive through. read more

Recently, I made friends with Kelsey, which is pretty easy to do--because she's so nice & so friendly! I haven't had my tea in a minute and knew I had to have it today. Walking the beach it was very chilly so we decided it was needed. It is a walk up counter. No interior. You order on one side and pick up on the other. There is plenty of concrete stool seating as it is perfect for sandy clothes and toes. The exterior was clean, and staff very friendly and courteous. A girl named ari working the drive thru at 10:32am on 7/27/23 asked for our order multiple times, had a very rude voice/demeanor to her and when we approached the window to receive the order everything we ordered was incorrect. She asked us over and over what we ordered it was pretty embarrassing. Clearly she has a listening problem and needs better training. This is the wackiest little Starbucks that I have EVER patronized. It's got only a drive thru and a walk up window from whence and where you can place your order from. Walk up, (which is what my son-in-law and I did each morning), place your order, then walk around to another window to pick up your order. Service was pretty quick though and also came with a smile and no attitude. But... what really got me was they only served "breakfast sandwich type food", like bagels with eggs. The food at the place is very good! There is a variety of food such as pastry's, eggs bites, and sandwiches. Overall the food quality is great and would recommend. The service is really good! You wait for 2 mins for 10 things that you order they come out fresh and quick every thing that you could want. The ambiance of the place is probably the best part of it all!
