Grabbed a croissant and a caramel latte. Both were good. Service was friendly and helpful. Ambiance was pretty chill and walking distance to the ocean. Definitely will be back.
My favorite breakfast spot in mission! The lox bagel and breakfast burrito are phenomenal. Everytime I visit San Diego I'm here every morning. Love the pistachio vanilla matcha too. The service here is great, quick and friendly! Indoor and outdoor seating always a spot and the vibe is so cute.
This was definitely one of the most disappointing restaurant reviews I have left in a long time. There was so much hype about this restaurant and the outdoor seating was filled when we got here, so we expected a really great meal. Unfortunately, neither the food nor the service was very memorable. We went with scrambles and while it was fine, the hashbrowns were way too greasy. The bread that was served with it was SO HARD that you couldn't even bite into it. I actually could not break it with tapping it on the table AND they advertise that they have a bakery portion across the street. Hopefully the bread wasn't their's because it was awful. There's just so many better places in the neighborhood, so I'd hold on visiting again.

It's humble, with local vibes, delicious food and super friendly staff. Everyone loved what they ordered. The hash browns were something special for me though. You can just really taste the quality ingredients. Seating is somewhat limited, especially for parties bigger than 4. But you can get to go and eat on the beach. Parking is going to be the major issue for many as this is right on the strand between PB and Mission Beach but I'd encourage people to park at the ends somewhere in either and enjoy a lovely walk on the boardwalk to and from the restaurant. Definitely can't wait to come back.
Was craving an omelette after a swim, found on Yelp and mobile ordered from their website. Parking at this location can be tricky but there is public parking for Mission Bay 2 blocks past it. Staff were friendly and bagging my order when it arrived, I added a black cold brew which they get from a local coffee toaster, it was good. I ordered the Popeye Scramble and Yogurt and Fruit bowl which I ate later, it was delicious. The scramble is not quite an omelette and it works. I tend to like my eggs fully cooked (not runny), this was closer to Medium-Well/Well Done. Didn't see ingredients but a traditional greek omelette (spinach, tomato, feta, olives optional) would have been a home-run. I don't eat hash browns these days but I did sample these, a mix of crispy on top and cooked/soft in the middle, nice taste. The sour dough toast was a hockey puck, I suspect it was stale before it went in the toaster (no points deducted). Very cute cafe with outdoor seating between PB and MB - highly recommend.

I arrived this past Friday and well... got a parking ticket for street sweeping.. so fyi to anyone wanting to visit on Tuesday and Fridays 8-10am is a disaster to find parking as the whole street applies to this. Anyways, the viral banana bread latte I thought would be house made syrup but unfortunately it was the standard syrups torani. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I got a bagel with cream cheese, eggs and sausage. Lost a point because of the syrup and the parking situation. The place was busy at 8am on Friday so prepare so that on any given time.
Find parking for a Sunday morning can be a little challenging but worth it! You order first then you find a table and they bring the orders out by name. We were luck enough to get a table in by the glass outside. We had the machaca burrito and the cinnamon French toast. The burrito was super filling. The French toast also good but not too sweet.
This was a cozy spot that had outdoor seating. The menu had a number of different options ranging from sandwiches to traditional breakfast items to baked goods. The ordering was done at the counter, and the food was delivered when ready. I had the corned beef Reuben ($15.25) which was a special on the day I attended. It was a traditional Reuben with their homemade 1000 island dressing and artisan sourdough bread. I also opted for the macaroni salad as the side given. That was alright. It was a little plain for me. The Reuben on the other hand was very tasty. It was grilled perfectly and there was plenty of filling. The corned beef was tender, and the homemade dressing was great. It was just the right amount as well. Will I go back? Yes.
We were brought here by locals and now I understand why! This place is great. We came here for brunch and loved it. You wait in line to order and find available seating. They have outdoor and indoor seating, but overall it's not a huge place. People usually are coming and going fairly quickly though. We tried the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and the Breakfast Quesadilla. Both were so delicious! Would get them again no doubt! They also have a great coffee menu, too. Really enjoyed the vibe here! It's only 1 block off of Mission Beach which is perfect for a post-brunch walk or beach day. Definitely add Olive Cafe to your list!
Great place for a quick breakfast and it's like a 2 min walk from the beach. Despite them being super busy on the weekend their service is super fast. My goto is their chicken pesto panini with their tomato soup and I finish it every time. They also have plenty of breakfast items that are super tasty.
Finally made my way to Olive Cafe to try the viral banana bread latte and it was absolutely worth the hype. I came in on a Sunday around 11 and there was no line. The staff were so sweet and i loved the aesthetic of the cafe - super authentic, colorful, and cute. The banana bread latte was insanely delicious and so banana forward. The espresso paired nicely with the flavor. Definitely going to be coming back for this latte and the other food/pastries!

Stayed across the street from Olive Cafe during a wedding weekend and was so impressed by everything we tried! From the Mediterranean wrap to the iced banana bread latte (both pictured), plus the granola bowl and Vitamin Sea smoothie, everything was fresh, flavorful, high-quality, and such a great value. The space is spacious with plenty of seating options, and it's both kid- and dog-friendly. The staff were also incredibly friendly and kind. I would absolutely come back the next time I'm in San Diego! Highly recommend! read more

I really enjoyed this place. My coworkers and I came here after a volunteer event and we were worried about finding parking, but luckily, there's a parking lot down Santa Clara Place. I suggested this place because they have pastries and looked like a good brunch menu. It has a nice outdoor patio which was perfect on a beautiful beach day. I ordered the chilaquiles and requested if I could have any chorizo. It's not listed as an option, but I saw that they had it on other menu items. The chilaquiles is made with a red salsa, and you can ask for their house salsa on the side. The eggs come scrambled, plus a side of sour cream and avocado. I really enjoyed it. It had just the right amount of spice. I also ordered an iced soy milk pistachio coconut latte and I couldn't leave without trying their pastries. I ordered a chocolate croissant and a chocolate chip & blueberry scone. They also offer day-old scones for $2, which I love that they offer to reduce food waste. read more

Finally stopped here on our morning walk the other day, we usually visit the bakery across the street. The place was packed, every table filled. Finally got a small table in the middle of the buildings and then got in line to order. When they say basic breakfast, they mean basic! The amount of food and taste were the equivalent of the 99 cent breakfast you get in the IKEA cafe but for $8.99. We will definitely try something different next time, not overwhelmed. read more

Olive Cafe offers a wide variety of breakfast and brunch options to please even the pickiest of eaters. Living in Pacific Beach for nearly a decade I have passed Olive Cafe numerous times and always noticed how busy it was. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Veggie Vegan Burrito (without the peppers and onions) which came filled with hash brown potatoes, black beans, spinach, mushrooms, and avocado. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was absolutely blown away by all the flavor. I was genuinely surprised by the size of this burrito considering how inexpensive it was! Due to the size and popularity of this restaurant, it can take a while to get your food, however it was well worth the wait! Can't wait to return! read more

Delicious food! I can't remember the last time I had a breakfast burrito because nobody has GF tortillas. Kitchen is not dedicated GF, and I did have a mild reaction so there was prob some cross contamination. I'd probably still do it again..worth the risk. There is always a line here, but the food comes out quick so it's a wash when compared to other places. Seating is mostly outdoors. Great place to sit and people -watch. read more

I've been driving past olive cafe ever since I was little and it's always caught my eye. So happy I finally tried it. The breakfast burrito was a good size and had a great amount of toppings for the price, but the turkey wrap was the star of the show. The sun-dried tomato pesto inside was so flavorful and fresh tasting. It would be the perfect meal to take to go and eat at mission bay or the beach. read more
So yummy and great location! Literally just steps from either the beach or bay! Breakfast was delicious! The cinnamon roll French toast was so good with sliced banana, strawberries and sprinkled with powdered sugar ! The Açaí bowl was tasty with fresh fruit! And the chef scramble had crispy and well seasoned potatoes, had bacon cheese and other yummy ingredients! It was quick and you can order ahead as well! I'm not the biggest fan of their viral banana bread latte, but the staff is incredibly welcoming and accommodating, which makes a big difference. The brunch and meal we ordered (pictured) were actually really good--fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. Overall, a cozy spot with great service and solid food. read more
The restaurant was busy when we were there for lunch on a weekday. It's at a good location but parking can be a challenge. We went kayaking at Mission Bay sportscenter and walked over for lunch after working up an appetite. We lined up to order and the line was pretty slow going. They have a big menu with lots of items that sounded delicious. My meal was a little greasy. The bread was good though. read more

Great breakfast spot right near the bay and beach! If you cannot find parking, there is a lot right on the bay to park and walk up to. Nice indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff, and good portions of food. I got the South Swell (in the photo) and my friend got the Chef's Choice. Definitely recommend this spot! Ambiance was delightful. Outside seating. You order your food and seat yourself. The service was friendly and the food was pretty good. The basic beach breakfast for my 7 year old was perfect. They added chocolate chips to his pancakes. The Cali-Bunga Burrito was delicious. I'm not a huge hash brown in my burritos but for the most part it tasted good. No burnt potatoes. :) The Cinnamon Roll Toast didn't stand a chance. I could barely get a full picture of the meal. He said it tasted good. No soggy toast and had a good flavor. read more
We originally planned to go the Mission Cafe but that place was way too busy, so we spotted the Olive cafe just a few blocks away. It's a quaint little cafe with a large patio area. For a small cafe, they have lots of options. We ordered via their online app, and there's lots of customization options. I got the breakfast quesadilla with hash browns. It was delicious with a slightly crispy outside. There's avocado, eggs, mushrooms and bacon. It was very large; enough to share. The hash browns were also crispy outside and tender inside. Hubby got the breakfast burrito and really enjoyed it too. This is a nice spot for breakfast or lunch. read more

We stumbled across this little café while biking around Mission Beach and I'm so glad we did! They have a dog-friendly patio, which is a huge plus. My fiancé ordered the cinnamon French toast with scrambled eggs and loved it. I had the tuna melt with a spicy tomato soup so good and full of flavor. Everything was fresh, tasty, and hit the spot after our ride. The café itself is super cute and in the perfect location by the beach. We'll definitely be coming back! read more
