So, yesterday was the first time I really felt let down in an alternative retail. I ended up getting there late and had to wait in the standby line. No big deal. The two girls at the door were very rude. Super unprofessional. They were comments making that were very racial. People would walk through the doors or ask them questions and they would immediately comment on their race once they were sight. I couldn't believe allowed to talk like that. There was at least 30 - 40 people waiting at all times. They were continually bashing a certain ethnic group. I snapped a picture of the two girls because I was pretty upset. Hearing them make fun of people constantly made me realize that there is no supervision of employees. Eventually, I got in and found a few items that I wanted. I was honestly happy to leave. I hope in the future staff will be trained better on what a professional attitude is. No one should be speaking like that! Very sad situation. read more

Located in 'The District at Tustin Legacy' near the Petsmart on Park Ave & Tustin Ranch Pkwy (plenty of parking available).  This spot specializes in weekly brand clearance events and warehouse sales. I've visited a couple of times for the BYLT brand sale, but they frequently feature names like Oakley, BEIS, and more at unbeatable prices. Because it is a warehouse sale environment, some items may have a dirty spot. I make sure to inspect everything before purchasing. They use 'Eventbrite' to organize entry; you book a specific time slot, sort of like an appointment for shopping. I'd suggest grabbing a ticket on Eventbrite and coming a bit later during your time slot so you don't have to wait in line. I booked an 11 am slot and arrived at 10:45 -- there were about 10 people in front of us. If I'd arrived a little later, I probably wouldn't have waited in that line. As for the Olukai items, it was pretty much the last of the stock, and honestly, nothing great. The best deal was $50 sandals at 50% off. The Fanny Pack from Vooray was $12, and the Aloha Fanny was a good price too, paid $25 . Honestly, I wouldn't come again unless I was in the area. Completely obsessed with this sample sale haven! I have been here for several types of sample sales in the past including: multi-designer, rent the runway, beis, Vuori, C&C... the list goes on. Each time I'm able to walk away with way more than I bargained for and great deals! The big PROS - ample parking, located in the same area as the District next to the Petco and across from Target - if you have a timed ticket, super organized on entry. I typically line up 10-15 minutes beforehand to the left of the store if you're facing it and I always get in on time. - friendly employees - clear bags provided for entry although you may need to check in your large purses (leave them in the car if you can) CONS - if you're not made for the sample sale life... be warned if you go at the beginning of a sale or for a beis sale. Lots of hungry bargain hunters and you will need to grab items fast (when in doubt just grab and throw into your bag!) - at the beginning of the sale prices might be higher than the end when retailers decide to mark down. It's hit or miss though on what could be left over. I tend to go closer to the end to risk it if I can get better deals! read more

Liberated Brands sale is the way to go! They own Quiksilver, Billabong, Roxy, etc to name a few. The last time I went on a Sunday for Liberated and was bummed there was barely any youth. This sale I went on the 2nd day (Fri) and although I booked a ticket, the security let me right in with no wait. $9 youth tees $20 youth sweatshirt $12 baseball caps $25 youth shorts / boardshorts $25 women's dresses 65% off backpacks; I got 2 at $21 and $30 after the discount $5 6pk Volcom crew socks Lots of Corkcicle, sunglasses, beach towels, Aloha bags, mens sandals, etc which are not "featured" but seem to be a staple there for sale. I love that this is now in Tustin instead of Santa Ana since our taxes are slightly cheaper. It helps when it adds up. I usually keep an eye out for the brands I like. My favorites are Vuori and Olukai. I usually always go to these when I can snag a ticket. The Vuori sales have gotten more and more popular and tickets are harder and harder to get. If you do snag one, you have to go like 45min early to go stand in line. This last time, my time was 10am and I got there at 9:20 and I was already 50 or so in line. They seem to allow more people in at each slot which is great but it's a time investment if you decide to go. Like Whs sales, it's hit or miss. I haven gotten a lot of great stuff from this sale and sometimes, it's just so so. There is a standby line for Vuori but you better have a lot of time to wait around. Soo painful. The Olukai sales are not as bad. And it's hit or miss. Just depends on what you are looking for and want. Great to have this so close by. read more

It seems clothing brands can rent this location as a temporary outlet for surplus goods and sales. In this case, shoes, sandals and clothing was being sold at about 50% off, which would be pretty good, but I find the prices are the same during a good sale at Nordstrom Rack. Service is based on security and crowd control and not necessarily on knowledge about the brand or construction of the sandals or clothing. I love alternative retail and the brands they bring but boy do I HATE having to sign up and commit to only 1hr per event... I guess it's the way they keep the crowds down but it's very chaotic and if you have anxiety, shopping at their events is NOT for you (or any of the weak lol). I tend to come when they have Vuori sales (so worth if you like premium workout clothing). Sometimes they have tickets available ahead of time but most of the time they do not... The walk ins without reservations are first come first serve and it starts at 2pm. They only let a small amount of people in per time. Everything is final sale which I love but a lot of the times you'll find small defects. I bought a jacket worth $210 for $80 and didn't notice it was missing a few buttons which I am sad about but I guess that's what happens... Parking can suck depending on the event and sometimes the farmers market will take up most of the lot but overall a pretty easy experience. Follow them so you can stay in the loop is my best advice!! read more

So I learned something today: Alternative Retail has a location here and in Santa Ana and they're known for partnering with prominent brands for sample sales. You can access their event calendar on their website and book a ticket in advance of that weekend. Today we went to a vuori sample sale. If you are familiar with the brand, pants and jackets can easily run into the $100-300 range. At the sample sale we were able to access pants, jackets, shirts, shorts for $30-$50. Though it's work to attend one of these events, it's a good opportunity if you find a brand that you align with. I'm happy that I got my winter travel needs covered in an afternoon. Protip: know your sizing in advance as you won't be able to try on clothes at the sample sale. Nevertheless, there are some good deals to be had here! read more

i come here from time to time when i score a ticket via eventbrite in the time slot that works with my schedule. they host some of my favorite brands like beis and vuori! this visit was for vuori! highly sought after brand. the tickets always, ALWAYS sells out quick and the prices are pretty good! idk how many tickets they release, but it always sells out within an hour i needed to stock up on shorts for summer! i purchased a few different styles of yoga pants in black this time around, they had a pretty good selection in every size! they also had a lot of different styles. when they host multi brand events, its pretty organized they have workers collecting all the hangers, and some are pretty helpful! its pretty chaotic, you gotta have a game plan and not get distracted! you only have an hour to shop! i like this space better than their santa ana location, its a wayyy bigger space and holds a lot of inventory! for vuori, they limit per person to only 10 items. check items before checkout as it is final sale!!!! parking: located in the district at tustin legacy. no issues with parking. ever. read more

Used to go to the sales when they were in Santa Ana, but it seems like they've opened up this Tustin location for a larger warehouse space. Came recently for the Vuori sale, and had to wait in line for 2 hours before they let us in at 12 pm as I was in the stand-by line. You're only limited to 10 items too. There were massive lines for those that had the 10 am and 11 am time slots, as they got to shop first. I haven't had to stand in line for any sale like this for a loooong time; good thing I had the day off. There is no shade while you wait in the stand by line too. read more

We recently discovered Alternative retail and the fist event was with my ALL TIME favorite local brand Z Supply and oh my I found some AMAZING pieces. A few dresses, sweatshirts and blouses and my total was less than the price of one of the dresses alone...WHAAAT...what a steel reserving a date/time slot is super easy and FREE Yesterday I took my husband to the OUTERKNOWN EVENT on opening day and he went absolutely nuts...He bought a few blanket botton down shirts, henlys, polo shirts and I bought a women's button down blanket shirt and t-shirt all for under $180 TOTAL...each blanket shirt is $158 or more retail!!! I love going to all locations for Alternative Retail and this location is no different. It's really easy to book your ticket for your selected time slot (of a specific hour) ahead of your arrival. If the brand you are looking for doesn't have enough time slots, just go through a different brand at the sale. Plenty of parking in the lot too so you never need to worry. I last came to this Alternative Retail for their Aloha and L*Space sales. I found so many Aloha Collections options and I was so happy to have made the sale! Always one of my absolute favorite products to go on sale at Alternative Retail. I ended up finding some other products from other brands there as well, which typically happens to me at every Alternative Retail. For it essentially being a warehouse sale, they are very organized and efficient at displaying products on sale. If you ever want to know what brands are coming to this location, just follow them on Instagram and you will know the sale at least a week ahead. Went to the Bylt sale... Make sure you check the tags. A lot of the clothes are mislabeled. We got two pants that had the wrong tags on them and it's nonrefundable. Also make sure you check for stains or any blemishes because a lot of the clothes had markings on them. They also had a ton of clothes behind the curtain, but no one would check to see if they had anything in different sizes when we asked and they pretend like they don't speak English. Even though for some people who seemed like resellers, they were bringing extra things out. Also check the online sale prices as there were a few items that were actually cheaper on the brand website because they were having a 25% off sale. But the warehouse is supposed to be 60 to 80% off, which made no sense because they were actually more expensive at the warehouse. read more

I have come here for a few warehouse sales. There are a few that are worth it and a few that have not been worth it. My tip is to always make sure to get a ticket through Eventbrite because the stand-by lines get pretty crazy. The really popular ones (Vuori and Beis) can be really hard to get tickets, but they always seem to drop tickets again here and there, so I would keep checking their Instagram for ticket redrop. If you are not able to get tickets, stand by is always an option, but I have heard some people waiting for hours to get into the sale. My favorite has been Vuori and Beis. The deals are pretty good. For Vuori, I would make sure to always check to see if there are holes or damage, there is no returns. Also, there is 10 items max. If you are looking for outwear, make sure to go earlier in the week as those get sold out first. But, they always have legging, tops and sports bras pretty much all weekend. For Beis, I would also make sure to go earlier in the week because that's when all the suitcases are available. One of my least favorite has been Barefoot Dreams (very little inventory and not worth the wait). All in all, definitely worth it if you are fan of the brand. Just a quick logistic reminder, there is ample parking because they share space with many other stores. There is no restroom inside, so definitely make sure to go before you go in. read more

Went here for the Lululemon sale and of course it was crazy! So many options for the women for sure, I had to make sure I could even get to all the sections. It was organized but a little confusing too. I had to circle back around a few times to see where my size section was. Some were labeled but some I wasn't sure if I just missed the section or if it placed somewhere else. Like I said, the place had a lot for the women so it was definitely overwhelming. I've come to this location when the theme is different types of clothing designers that are featured on the particular weekend. I just so happened to come here when Travis Mathieu was featured. I was able to pick up a couple of pairs of shorts. But I will say that you need to come on the opening day of sad product. You are most interested in. You may not be able to buy the size you are looking for. They carry everything from clothing from designer brands to sunglasses and wet suits. And the price you pay is somewhere between 50 and 75% off of most of the items in the store. So if you are looking for a great value, this is definitely a place you need to stop by and check out. Alternative Retail used to be more low-key a couple years ago but I think they went more viral on the socials so it's typically packed. I follow them on IG and subscribe to their email updates for the latest. Email is easiest because you can sign up for free tickets for the rotating pop-up's. My faves are Vuori and Brixton. Vuori gets SOLD OUT QUICK because it's the hottest ticket item. When it comes to these warehouse sales in general just make sure to INSPECT INSPECT INSPECT. Sometimes the items may be faulty, for example have marks or be missing a button or the wrong size and label. For payment they take cards except AMEX. My best advice is to go on the first weekday and first thing in the morning! They do replenish but the most coveted items get sold out QUICK. AR is also great for those summer items if you're not looking to spend a lot and you still want "name brands." For example, swim suits for men and women, SoCal beachy/surfer/skateboarder brands. read more

I booked an 11 am slot for the Olukai warehouse sale at Alternative Retail last weekend. I am a big fan of Olukai sandals and have previously paid full price for the styles I like. My previous leather pair lasted 4 years so it was time to get a new pair. I wasn't about to drop $100 on it just yet and saw the advertisement for the warehouse sale. I figured, why not? I went to check it out and arrived a bit early. The guy at the door just wanted to see my Eventbrite ticket and name. I said I was early and I guess it wasn't at capacity so he let me in. I went over to the women's section and it was a mess but I found a couple pairs for me. They were selling the leather sandals for $50 and the synthetic sandals for $40. Then I went over to the men's section and found a leather pair for my husband. I noticed that they had some other brands there too at a discount which was nice. I already had 3 pairs of sandals in my bag so I decided to go pay. I was so excited for my new purchases. I did see on the label that these were older designs (a few seasons ago) but I'm not gonna be picky if I don't have to pay retail. VISA/MC Accepted. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Alternative Retail hosts a new sales every week but I do think that inventory that doesn't sell just gets moved to the outer walls of the store into a separate section. First time shopping at this location, but have shopped at their Santa Ana location in the past. Located next to Pet Smart at the District. Plenty of free parking in a large parking lot. To shop here - Select a date / time and get your FREE Event Brite ticket found on their website or Instagram. Multiple brands are featured but you only need 1 ticket to shop them all. I arrived 16 minutes before my chosen time and they did have me wait in line as I was not allowed in early. There is a standby line if you do not have a ticket. In those 16 minutes standing at the front of the line, I witnessed 3 name droppers trying to get in without a ticket or wanting to cut the line. Very entertaining ;) I do appreciate the timed shopping slots because it was VERY crowded inside. This large warehouse is organized pretty well! I shopped specifically for Native Shoes, Olukai, Aloha Collection and Dreamland Baby. There are some very steep discounts offered! Some great deals I spotted - Native shoes $23 (originally $50), Dreamland Baby bamboo pajamas $17 (originally $36), women's Olukai shoes $40 (originally $100), Aloha bags in various styles and sizes, Reef, RVCA, Billabong, Volcom men's T shirts, polos, sweaters. Other brands not advertised but had items for sale: Dakine backpacks, Vooray bags, Quay sunglasses, Spy sunglasses, Hurley / Reef / Seager / other branded hats and beanies, corkcicle drinkware, snowboarding apparel, small selectiowomen's apparel. WHO LOVES A GREAT GREAT DEAL on popular brands? ME! Located in Tustin, this space is usually on my radar for a good warehouse sale of some of the nice brands. From the recent sales of Bylt, Beis, Oakley, Vouri, to Beach Riot be on a lookout for the weekend warehouse drop! Sales can be amazing and start from 30% to 65% off! Was able to snag t-shirts for $15 dollars (normal price $40-60), leggings for $35 (normal price is $65-80). Beach Riot swimwear were $25 each piece! Staff there are really cool. The space is well organized and although it can get a little crazy with crowd and the limited selection of a certain size and everyone is that size. I find it a lot of fun and rewarding when you get something good. Highly recommend checking out their website, insta or just google warehouse sale to find the next drop. There is also "reservation" available to avoid waiting in line for the highly sough out brands. Check out eventbright for those free tickets. Love coming here for warehouse sales from some of my favorite brands. I always reserve a ticket through their Eventbrite, but they do have a standby line if you're unable to get a ticket. It's usually VERY organized, which I can appreciate because I've been to warehouse sales where everything is just in huge cardboard boxes. I rarely ever feel overwhelmed here because the signage is good, brands are organized by section, clothes and shoes are always organized by size. I've been able to score Beis, John Galt, Ana Luisa, YSL and T3 products, just to name a few brands. The workers are usually really nice and try to be as helpful as possible. One time I found some Stuart Weitzman boots but only one shoe. One worker tried helping me find the matching shoe and searched high and low for it. I did have a mishap with a cashier who double charged me on an item I purchased. No worries, it happens. Great deals!!! I mean, they really have some awesome deals on the pop-up clothes, shoes, and accessories for the various brands that are sold here. If you get your free ticket online, it is a breeze to go through. On some weekdays at odd/nonbusy hours, I could walk right in. No line, just grab a bag and go. I loved the Designer pop-up they recently had. I bought a Marchesa dress from $1100 to $140. You kind of know what you are getting to when you come to these types of shops: you cannot try on the clothes, you have to search through all the racks and boxes, it can get crazy on the weekends, but overall you really do get a good deal on legit items, and they are not knockoffs. The service and organization is very well organized. It's a very crowded situation and the flow of traffic continues to flow. I also had an overcharge and I emailed the company with the email and the receipt representative. Email me back right away. Ask for a few photos of the receipt and got back to me immediately again, and was able to locate the exact purchase which validated my situation and they refunded the overcharge. The customer service was great totally didn't expect that. I highly recommend to get a reservation. The wait line is very long with certain vendors. Reservation is the key and I may skip it without a reservation with a reservation. It's smooth and worth every amount of time and Penny. read more

Booked the 1000am slot today for the Aloha collection sale. There was no line to get in, and security did not check for the eventbrite ticket. I was surprised to see many other brands for sale as well, including RVCA and Salty Crew shorts, t shirts, tanks, long sleeved shirts & hoodies; Oakley snow jackets, some North Face, as well as goggles, sunglasses, and random things such as blankets, usb-c cords & chargers, corksicle mugs and cups. Signs posted show pricing, and much of the inventory is 50-60% off retail. Ended up getting 2 Aloha pouches and a daytripper tote, a snow jacket, a tank top, t-shirt, crew neck and a hoodie for $235! My fiancé and I are huge Vuori fans... but not huge fans of paying full price every time. A friend told me about Alternative Retail and we finally got tickets to go to a Vuori warehouse sale here. The prices are amazing if you end up finding things you love/need. I was hoping to get more winter-appropriate wear since it's getting cold. Instead, I was disappointed to see the non-existent selection of outerwear for women. They had more for men, though. I still bought some things I can wear next season when it warms up... not necessarily because I needed them but because I was already there and the prices were good. I recommend going in knowing your size for whatever item you're buying... because there are no changing rooms to try things on and you can't return anything you buy if you realize the fit is off later. Overall, I think it's worth coming to if you get tickets (and don't need to wait in line) and are prepared to buy last season's stuff (not whatever season you're in and hoping to shop for). Tickets are free, but they go fast so I'd recommend either signing up for Alternative Retail's newsletter or following them on Instagram so you can get first dibs. We went on a Sunday, and I think the event starts on Thursday or something... if you go earlier, you might have a greater selection -- though I'm speaking out of speculation. They impose a 10-item limit per person and though we expected to max it out, we didn't find enough to. The next time I go to one of these, I'll try to make it on the first day to see if the selection is better. The staff here are friendly and do a good job keeping everything mostly organized given how hectic it can be having a ton of people shopping in there at once. We went during the Designer goods sale and it was pretty chaotic. Short lines because getting tickets online was very easy, free and had specific times to arrive. However, the inside was definitely similar to bargain bin digging. Shoes and clothes in giant piles and stacked to the brim. Purses and jewelry were behind a counter so you had to ask staff for it. I think it's worth it if you need a lot of simple essentials like work professional sweaters, blazers, heels and nice tennis shoes. Or maybe you need ideas on a prom dress as they had a lot of fancy dresses. To be honest, there was a huge variety of nice $1000+ clothing to outlet sale pile stuff. If you enjoy digging or resale, then this is your jam. Unfortunately, a lot of the nicer stuff was for S and under sizing. A lot of the mediums, larges and common shoe sizes were slim pickings. Some decent stuff for men too. Overall, a fun way to kill an hour since that's the maximum per visit. read more

Like everything in life, there's pros and cons. A friend of mine told me about this place, so we finally came here one day for one of their sales. In order to not have to stand in a looooong line in the waitlist line, you would have to follow and as soon as a new event is posted within 2 min go online to get a ticket, which is almost humanly impossible. Unfortunately, I tried to get tickets after 5min and couldn't get a ticket. So I had to wait in the waitlist line to go in. The line is about an hour long, sometimes longer depending on when you go. Earlier in the sale usually boost longer lines, however as the sale goes on, the inventory dwindles, so going in the first 3 days is highly recommended. Once you go inside, they give you a clear plastic bag and begin the fight in the "battle ground" that is the warehouse. It's stressful and time consuming to go through all the items in the racks. They are usually by size but sometimes not. They only give you an hour to do your battle, i mean shopping. So it's rather stressful, and there's no changing rooms so you don't know how things fit. I wore super tight clothes so I can try items on top of my own clothes. The pro is you get deeply discounted brand name items, the reason for that is the items did not pass quality control. Eg, stains, zipper that's too long, too short, hem too long or short, string tie without caps, small hole or tear. Make sure you inspect carefully before you purchase. read more
