this place was soooo good! i love how lively it is although the music is pretty loud so that can feel overstimulating. we sat outside since the weather was nice and that way we didn't have to listen to the loud noise. the prices of each dish are very fair. despite my wrap looking small, it was very filling and i only managed to eat half of it. i got 3 different meats for the same price as any other meat option and it was an excellent choice. the sweet potato fries were made perfectly and the sauce they come with is addicting. all the sauce i tried were soooo good. even though i am very sensitive to spice, i would give myself the tiniest dab on every bite because it was that good. i would definitely come back here and try their drinks too! read more

Spitz is one of my favorite neighborhood Mediterranean spots in the NE. I always order the OG gyro, and the fact that they put fries inside the gyro is a game changer! I also love that you can get a mix of different meats without paying extra, I get beef and lamb combo - something you don't see at many Mediterranean restaurants. And whatever you do, don't skip the hummus and naan strips! They're perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy in the middle, and are addicting! Another huge plus is the value - it's hard to find a satisfying combo meal for under $20 these days, but Spitz delivers great portions at a very reasonable prices. Plus the service is fast! Such a fun, nice spot with a great vibe! They are clearly aiming to offer a proper, authentic Doner kebab here. While it's definitely better than most other doner offerings I've come across in the US, I think it still slightly misses the mark compared to the real deal. The rest of the menu definitely holds its own, though. The falafel was pretty good, and the drinks were a major highlight--especially the basil lemon drop! I've picked up large catering orders from this location many times. The customers I've delivered to always raves about the food. It looks like a cool place and I kept thinking I would like to dine here. I dine with a small group every couple of months or so. I told them when it's my turn, I'm choosing Spitz. The restaurant has a fun and colorful decor. Order at the bar and they bring the food out to your table. It was a really warm day, so we chose to dine inside. They do have a nice outdoor area for when it's not too hot. We sat at a booth with nice padded seats. The menu has something for everyone, with clear labeling. I am vegan, so I appreciated the vegan menu section. My friend is vegetarian, and the two other friends are omnivores. I ordered the vegan doner bowl. It comes with fries, falafel, hummus and other Mediterranean items. It was good, but the next time I order it, I will sub rice for the fries. Service was awesome. I went there with couple of my friends on a Sunday lunch, it wasn't busy. There were more people in the outside tables than inside. It looked very spacious, eclectic place with colorful posters. The menu looked good and interesting with many options for - vegans, vegetarians and also non-vegetarians. There is also a bar area, where we have to put our orders in. I've been meaning to go here for a while and finally made it last night. While Spitz may not have one of the most appealing names, I can tell you right now their food is absolutely delicious. Last night, I had the Berliner and it was awesome. Their portion sizes are absolutely gigantic so you will definitely not leave hungry. They have a nice tap list and offer both indoor seating as well as a large outdoor patio. It's counter service, but the two people working there last night were very friendly and helpful. I've had this place saved for a while on a TikTok I seen. It is just as good as everybody raves. From the portions to the quality of the food it was all spectacular. Every ingredient tasted fresh. I had a bowl and my husband had a gyro. We also ordered their famous street fries and those did not disappoint. The price for everything we ate felt worth it, which is rare these days. I already want to go back and try more things. The atmosphere of the place is also inviting and comfortable. Many spots to sit inside and outside on their deck. We also had a stroller with us for our 3.5 month old baby and being new parents it's nice when a restaurant can't accommodate spaces for us. We came - We sat - We Ate!!! We had the fun opportunity to meet up with different family member (while a few were in town) to have an early lunch together. WE had never been here before. We were one of two groups in the restaurant, all the rest seems to be to go orders. Reasonable price for the quality of the food. While I probably wouldn't drive (again) from the SW side of Portland, I would definitely stop in and grab a bit to eat when I am in the neighborhood and hungry. The sauces were phenomenal but the food portion was small, my bowl wasn't very heavy, barely any rice meat. The chicken was kind of stringy/cheap. We got a gyro and a Donner sandwich with fries and drinks. The sandwiches were great taste wise. They weren't filled with as much meat as other places but still quite good. The fries were delicious. We had iced tea and lemonade. The lemonade was not overly sweet which we liked. I can't speak to the service but I will say that our order was packed well.
