One of our favorite breakfast places! Today's special was Dungeness crab omelette and crab hollandaise . Both were excellent ! The service is great, even though they were very busy. Lots of seating options. They make a great Bloody Mary too.

BOY DO I LOVE BREAKFAST! I've been living in Portland for 4 1/2 years and just recently stumbled onto this little gem. This divvy little hole-in-the-wall serves one of the best breakfasts I've had since moving to Portland. Not only are they friendly and provide really good service, their food is great. I had the basic breakfast, which is two eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and I ordered bacon. My friend got the French toast and bacon, and we had two coffees. First of all, I have been searching for good hashbrowns for the longest time, and finally have stumbled upon a place that does them perfectly. I use the term divvy, but the place is clean and accommodating, and they keep making sure we are being taken care of. Haven't had lunch here yet, but the burgers look good too. If you haven't been here before, you might want to swing by and check it out. They have a new fan, and I will be back again and again.

A great spot for a fav spot! Come in and grab a drink, watch a game or just hang out, waiting for my grilled cheese and tomato soup:)

Honestly this place rocks. We are new to the area and went to try it out for the first time for the inaugural duck game. Atmosphere is exactly what you would hope for a local watering hole. Timeless and homey. Unfortunately the game was not available, but that was a Comcast issue and the owner was working feverishly to try and figure out the situation which I appreciate. Food was killer, exactly the kind of bar food I love to have for enjoying a game. The club was fantastic and the hash browns are not to be missed. Perfect level of crisp with a nice fluffy interior. Also wound up getting a burger for happy hour which was hearty and delicious. Big menu, lots of fun stuff to try. Beer is great, food is awesome, vibe is right. I expect to come back here as my new local spot.

Dockside has been around forever, before the gentrification of this neighborhood, and I love how it's still there on the same corner, not updated, surrounded by all these modern buildings. Inside it's a typical, casual pub. Several booths line the windows, with tables, and bar seating rounding out the inside. There are also some outdoor tables. You can seat yourself, you don't need to wait for the hostess. Breakfast is their specialty and they serve it all day. Also burgers, salads, clam chowder, chili, and a variety of hot and cold sandwiches. We all ordered breakfast for lunch. I got the Tracey's scramble - eggs, green peppers, ham, bacon, sausage and cheese - with hash browns which were crispy and delicious. The scramble was very tasty, the only thing I'd change is swap the green peppers for red. Friends got other breakfast items - the huevos ranchero and the Eggs Benedict. Everyone was satisfied. The waitress was friendly and efficient, even though she was super busy. She even left a pitcher of soda on the table for my friends. All in all, a great spot for breakfast.

Good little hidden spot with some video slot games, a solid breakfast and Bud Light beers to start a beach day.

Love this place. It has been here for ages, and their breakfast is your typical fare breakfast. I would recommend this place for the price point, and you're just hungry for the typical breakfast without any frills. I mean, c'mon, there's too many brunch places in Portland with their own spin on breakfast. Sometimes, you just want a plate of just eggs, bacon, and hash. This is the place for that or your typical omelet.

Great chicken fried steak with a gravy hash browns and eggs. I do have toast on the side. I added the hot sauce.

I'd never even heard of Dockside before a couple months ago, and had we stopped in on the day I'd intended, we would have coincidentally visited on its last day of operation under the helm of the original owners. Shame. Even so, the handoff to the new owners appears to have been a smooth transition, because this place rocks! Fantastic food, (mostly) attentive service, and a charming, rustic aesthetic. We stopped in for brunch, ordering between us the taco omelet, Florentine eggs benedict with ham, a Loaded Mary (Bloody Mary with all the fixins), and a MANmosa, because screw your fluted glass, pour us a big one! I expected to be a bit underwhelmed by my omelet, as I generally don't order breakfast food much. I'd tried to order off the lunch menu, which wasn't available at the time, and had to pivot at the last minute, but fortunately, I landed on a winner! It's hard to go wrong with spiced beef, cheese, egg, salsa and sour cream! Across the table, my wife was in ecstasy over her eggs benedict, claiming it was one of the best she'd had anywhere! From the sampling I took, she's probably right - even the Hollandaise, which can be tricky to execute correctly, found itself firmly in the Goldilocks zone - not too egg-y, not too lemon-y. We may have missed the Dockside during the reign of its founding generation, but its legacy, and continued operation, are in good hands.

Nice happy hour food options, warm vibe and decent cocktails. Service was spot on. Parking can be tough in. This hood though.

Ordered take out and opted for the Reuben sandwich and I can safely say I was not letdown and would love another! The potato salad was also really good (4/5). I prefer my salad to be a little thicker and less watery. The sandwich however is a triple decker with bread, meat, bread, and cheese which adds a different twist to it. I honestly forgot where the sauerkraut was in there but it's there! The meat is also delicious and was some of the best tasting I'd had on a Reuben. Would def get that sandwich again.

Love the people, the food, and the environment. They are so helpful even on busy days. It is common sense if you come to a family restaurant on a weekend where fresh food is served, there may be a longer wait than usual. But they are anttentive and make you feel safe and check on you. I really love the waffles and recommend waffles with strawberries. Don't miss the hashbrowns! They are amazing. Thank you Dockside family

The kitchen is doing everything right, which makes sense because their new chef spent time at Mother's and it shows! Sierra was our server (and bartender) -- she was great and made us feel right at home. And the ambiance was just what we've been looking for -- nothing fancy, just a homey place to have good beer and great food. We did learn that it is under new ownership, so maybe that's why it checked all the boxes (and then some)! tl;dr Great place all around and we'll be back frequently!

After placing my food order, I waited approximately 42 minutes and received nothing. During that time, I observed the cook outside smoking and drinking with guests while paying customers continued waiting for their orders. At that point, I requested a refund because it was obvious that serving customers was not a priority. The situation became even worse when the bartender attempted to process the refund. She was unable to print a refund receipt and, after I mentioned that I was familiar with the Toast system, actually asked me to come behind the bar and process the refund myself. Asking a customer to do an employee's job because staff do not know how to perform basic functions is beyond unprofessional. I then discovered that I had been charged for five drinks despite consuming only two. When I pointed this out, the bartender's response was that she "didn't know" because she had just started her shift. That answer is completely unacceptable. If your staff cannot accurately account for what customers are being charged, that is a serious operational problem and raises legitimate concerns about billing practices. As a property manager located nearby, I have spent years recommending your establishment to residents and visitors. Under the previous ownership, I regularly supported and promoted your business with you all providing me $20 gift cards to my new residents because it provided a positive experience. Unfortunately, based on what I witnessed during this visit, I can no longer do so in good conscience. Watching staff socialize and drink while customers wait nearly an hour for food, being overcharged for drinks I never consumed, and then being asked to process my own refund is one of the most unprofessional experiences I have had at any bar or restaurant.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

We came to Teardrop Cocktail Lounge while visiting Portland and were genuinely impressed…read more The cocktails were excellent -- thoughtful, well-balanced, and clearly made by people who know what they're doing. One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.
