The last couple of times I got the deluxe wash, it was decent. However, on my most recent visit, the staff seemed rushed and did a poor job with the pre-wash scrub. I specifically came in to remove bird droppings from the roof of my car. When I pointed it out, the employee glanced at it and said, "It's clean," until he took a closer look and saw that there were still a dozen spots left. The staff seemed irritable and eager to leave, not customer-focused at all. I felt bad for the one guy was drying all the cars by himself. He had more customer skills than the guy at the cashier. It's disappointing to say this after so many years, but I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

There are bays available for people to wash their own vehicle. I know it can take sometime, but I personally appreciate the availability to use the bays at my own leisure especially for those who may not have access to a hose hook up or a driveway to wash their car. If you are in a rush and prefer to wash your own car, I would plan well. The employees have always been helpful and considerate. They guided me well to get my car lined up, and they had great communication. This business is locally owned and operated. The owner is a great support of all things local. He has supported various fundraising needs for the schools and local sports teams. He is very generous and so willing to help out.

I approached an employee who said they would eventually work and inserted a token, punched in a code and it started and said let him know. He asked for my tokens (7) and I gave them to him thinking he was going to exchange them. When asked for them back he gave me two and confiscated the rest saying that they were his property. These tokens have a monetary value and have no markings saying whose property they are. He refused to return them to me unless I was going to use them all. This will be the last time there. There are other newer car washes around who I will patronize.

When she exited, one of the people drying the car off saw this damage and brought it to her attention. Long story short, the owner said the car must have had a "weakness" before it entered the car wash. He aggressively spoke to my daughter and I (She FaceTimed me), insisting it was our fault since it only happened to our car and no one else's cars that day. Obviously something in the car wash got stuck and pulled the bumper off. I have a family member who used to work there under the prior ownership and said this does happen from time to time. The new owner, Vick, did nothing but blame us and our car. My husband went back in person a few days later to try to discuss a resolution with him and he again became agitated and aggressive and said it's not his fault. He offered no resolution other than giving us free car washes in the amount that we would have to pay to repair the car. He didn't even refund the price of the car wash after this occurred! Obviously we aren't going to take our cars through the car wash again if we know this type of damage is possible and that we will be responsible for it. Bottom line, a simple car wash has now caused $1300 worth of damage plus the cost of a rental while we get it repaired. I've talked to other people who had similar incidents occur at other car washes and the owners made it right and paid for the repairs. Be aware that this owner will NOT stand behind his service and you are entering at your own risk and expense when you use North Penn Car Wash.

So I ran into the man at the desk before my car went through and he was an older man who is American and fluent in English and I was shocked at the terrible customer service. He said he couldn't do anything about it. I explained the most important part was getting the undercarriage done. He blamed the misunderstanding on the fact that, "Nobody here speaks English." There's nothing I can do. I asked why I couldn't just pay the extra cost of $8.00 and send the car through again for the undercarriage and wax. At first, that didn't seem like an option. I explained that I didn't want to pay the full $22.00 to send the car through for what I wanted after paying for the Basic car wash which I didn't want. He just kept saying that I was getting the basic and there was nothing he could do. I explained that his excuse of no one speaking English was not my fault as the customer and most businesses could easily fix this issue. He said it wasn't his fault no one spoke English and he couldn't do anything. After I told him that it seemed this was horrible customer service he did let me pay the extra $8.00 and sent me back to the entrance to talk to the guys and have one of them come up to him at the desk. Really? If they don't speak English how am I supposed to do that? I did find one of the guys at the entrance and got him to follow me up to the older man at the desk. Apparently, the man at the desk had called in this really nice lady and explained to her. Her name is Gladys and she was FANTASTIC. I kind of picked up negativity when he told me that no one there spoke English. Thought that was kind of insulting to the workers. Well, I can tell you Gladys spoke Perfect English! She understood completely what I was saying - that the undercarriage was the most important part with all the salt and that's why I wanted to pay the difference and run it through for just the under carriage and wax. She took over and her customer service was fantastic. She actually drove it through herself and did the entire Take Flight. I'd give her ten stars! She should be the one who deals with the customers. In two minutes she took what was horrible customer service to stellar customer service. She reflects fantastically on the business. The older man behind the desk who only works a couple days a week from what I understand reflects so poorly on the business that he should not have contact with the public. Hence, the one star! Called multiple times and left messages - they never called back. Lame. Could not get back there for a few days as I had to go out of town. By the time I got back, I chalked it up to experience and will never, ever, ever, ever go there again. Ignore the great reviews - look at the folks who had wiper arms ripped off.
