I understand things going slower than they usually go here because of them being extra understaffed that day. But cmonnnnn, really had me waiting with my fingers in acetone for way too long. He had me soak my hands in acetone and then completely forgot about me. I would've rather have waited longer for my service than have my hands stuck in all of that for so long. My fingers got so dry and still are dry (a day later) the least they could've done was apply some lotion. Didn't even clean up around my hands that left white residue all over from the removal of the polish from my acrylics. To top it off, my hands have melted acrylic all over that I'm still currently scratching off. Then the owner proceeds to tell me she can't do my pedicure today and to come another day in the week when I called and made this appointment and other people with walk-ins we're getting a seat at the pedi chair?? I never once complained about the stuff all over my hands so I was genuinely confused and irritated on why I was being pushed behind walk-ins. Only reason I will be coming back is because my card was fully stamped and it's a free pedi service that I'm waiting on (also in which the owner was trying to tell me "it depends maybe we can only give you a manicure" when for the past 6 years I've been using them for pedis). Beyond disappointed this time. That was 2 weeks ago, me going here for 6 years I decided whatever I'll go again. Today got in, got taken care of right away I was impressed in comparison to their usual 40 min wait with an appt you have made prior. BUT- I had gotten a pedi and acrylics done this time for graduation. Let me tell you, my cuticles are all ripped up. I was bleeding for more than half of my service, polish done lumpy, TOLD I was going to be given a discount for this terrible job (which idc but the owner then said I don't give any discounts if you're unhappy), my acrylics were done terribly again after the fact that I said I have graduation and grad photos this weekend. The pedi was done so terrible I promise you all I think I could've done a better job myself AND avoided blood. Anyways, after everything was done, I wanted to speak to the owner who refused to go outside to chat so it would be more private. Started yelling at me in front of the whole salon how she won't give me a discount, doesn't see any mistakes (as I pointed every single thing out), told her how I love this place and want to keep coming back but she saw no issue in me bleeding and said it's bound to happen. She told me she's not going to accommodate me and said if I get an infection to contact their insurance company not her. WTF??? I'm over here bleeding and you're saying hmmm I don't see any issue... I'm so disappointed my toe cuticles are hurting and sore and I'm not even trying to exaggerate that because again, they were bleeding and the girl trying to "fix" the situation just kept dumping some oils on it and putting it back in the water. Did my whole pedi avoiding that toe knowing that she cut it so deep. The owner redid 2 fingers after having to argue that they were originally terribly done and she painted them a different color. I told her they're not the same color as the original and she said yeah they are. My pinky and my index finger are now 3 shades lighter for my grad photos so that's also very lovely. I'll attach pictures but save yourself a trip and go to a different salon. I got charged $80 for a $60 services. Just be aware they will overcharge you and not listen to you for clarification whatsoever and that's exactly what they did again this time. They're beyond rude, unaccommodating, and think the customer is wrong. I think the owners name is Stephanie, she loves laughing at you when you try pointing something out, extremely belittling her customers and I've seen her do it with many others over the years. read more

The manager was very aggressive when talking to me. I showed a picture of the style and said I'd like a more pink color. They kept telling me no and telling me to pick a nude color when I said I don't like that... I got an ombré French tip that is a dip powder so it's a lot more expensive. The water for my feet was cold to start. We paid for 2 $45 pedicures and they skipped the Paraffin wax altogether and didn't even massage my feet but only my legs over and over and made them rehurt. They didn't discount the $10 for not doing a service we paid for. They charged $20 for a massage when on the menu I could have gotten the wax and massage and other stuff for the same price. For a hand massage of 15 minutes. Sad another place cares more about money than doing a good job. I won't be back here and I will recommend others to not go. read more

I came in today, crying and so upset set after another salon ruined my pedicure. (I was already having an awful day and worked 3 weeks straight with no days off and I'm EXHAUSTED) the other salon made me feel stupid and rushed me and literally didn't do anything that I asked for. So I called Splash after and she told me to come in and she would fix them for me! Stephanie was so sweet to me. She completely fixed everything and I left so happy I'm so glad now that I finally found a salon I can go back to! She even stayed almost an hour after the salon closed to fix my pedicure. I had Ann appointment for a Dip powder. The nail lady brought a little dipping powder kit. When she opened it I noticed it was with filled with dust, tools dirty and the polish for the dip powder was stuck on the bottom of the box and couldn't even open the polish. The nail buffer was dusty as well and had not used any clean nail clippers, or nail buffers. She just dusted it off with a brush. She dropped a nail scraper and she picked it up and put it back in the box. She didn't set it aside to sanitize it. She yanked my hand and never gave me the opportunity to wash my hands. She didn't clean or remove my cuticles, cut my fingernails crookedly and did not even file my nails. After she finished she looked like she was in a hurry and right when she finished I felt and noticed that the edge of my nail was stuck on to the skin. She applied cuticle oil on my fingers and nowhere near the cuticles. She applied a hot rag and tried messaging but there was oil smeared all over my hand leaving it greasy and dusty. I asked the guy why she didn't apply it to my cuticle and she yelled from across the room that she did. I showed them my greasy palm and the guy pulled out the cuticle oil, reaching for my had. I said no because my hand is dirty and oily. He then kept telling me that she knows how to do her job when she did it horribly. I've been going there since I was in high school and today was just the worst experience. I got home washed my hands and fixed everything on my own. At the end I got charged for a horrible service of $40. I don't recommend going there. read more

Bought my wife a gift certificate for $60, which covered a Mani-Pedi including the better nail polish, etc... When she went to redeem it, they rushed through the job, didn't do all the steps they used to do for a manicure and then charged her an extra $20 over the gift certificate. Even though they didn't explain it she still paid the remainder with a card, but was then asked " so your tip will be in cash." That's extremely rude. Used to this Splash was 'it!' Really and truly, I had no complaints and although there's a bit of a wait if you go in without an appointment, they still get you in and out in about an hour ... sometimes an hour and 15 minutes or so. Fast forward to when I got a TERRIBLE manicure and went back to the owner to have it fixed. It wasn't very busy and she sat me at the counter. I waited, and waited and waited some more. Okay - I wasn't pressed for time and it was a 'repair' ... so she wasn't making any money on the deal. The owner finally got to me but left SEVERAL times to tend to an employee and whatever customer - and whatever problem - they had. My take away? They're great until you need something fixed, and then you're dead to them. Fast-fast forward to just a couple of weeks ago ... It was after I'd had my manicure repaired but I took a friend of mine in, to introduce her to Splash. I figured everyone has an off day, and perhaps my repair experience was just that ... an off day. Not so! We had reservations but when the owner saw me come in, it didn't matter. We waited over 20 minutes to be seated. Our appointments were for 1:00 p.m. and we didn't get out of there until 3:35 p.m. - and that's not even counting the 20 minutes we had to wait! Conclusion: Patronize Splash until you have a problem. Then go to someone else because that owner holds a grudge! read more

Very unhappy with quality of work for the price. I got french pedicure (regular polish), and gel french polish (without manicure, and with my natural nail) and it was $90 total before tip!!! The quality of the manicure especially is horrible. Tons of gel gunk under my nails (which i asked them to fix and they didnt - instead just quickly ran nail file as if to appease me), white tip color dust spotted all over the nails...overall such a poorly done job. Im really disappointed that I just threw $100 in the trash. This horrendous job also took them a good 2 hours. Ridiculous! They have just gotten progressively worse. I won't be back. read more

my best friend and i have been loyal to splash for about five years now. i have recommended them to people every time nail salons come up in conversation and have gotten many people hooked on splash. i came in with my sister and mom about a week ago. my mom doesn't like paying for my sisters acrylic nails because of the maintenance and how much they cost so my 13yo sister saved up her own money to come in and pay for herself while we got pedicures. we paid and my mom and let them know that my sister would be paying separately. my sister got a french tip with a silver line. my mom left us there to head back to work and once we were at check out the owner stephanie proceeded to tell us the total would be $95. i asked why so much and she said because it was a french tip with design. in the past i have gotten some very complex designs. and my best friend gets french tips with flowers or hearts almost every time she goes in. neither one of us has EVER paid over $65-$70 for a full set before tip. my sister saved up $100 for her nails being prepared to tip the person doing her nails as well. i have always taught her to tip people well in this kind of industry because that is how they make their money. the look on her face when she said the total i could tell she felt so bad because she only had $100. i tipped the artist on her behalf because she definitely deserved more than a $5 tip. i feel that my sister got taken advantage of probably because she is young. and i swear that price she just pulled out of thin air because i'm my 5 years of getting acrylics at splash i have never ever paid that much for a full set. i just think that if someone is asking for a design the least you can do is let them know they're going to be spending $95 BEFORE doing their nails and checking out. afterwards my sister was very upset and i felt very betrayed by a business that i have been loyal to for five years now. i will not be returning and will no longer be sending any business their way. read more

I usually love this place but I just got my nails done and it was the messiest nail job I've ever received. There are globs and dents in every single nail. I also asked for a single gem on the pinkie and the technician put an obnoxiously large colored gem (I wanted a clear gem). It was obvious that the technician was trying to get through my nails as quickly as possible. I'm really upset because I paid $30 for a gel application that I could've done better with a 20% tip (they only have 20,30 or 40% tip options). She talked with me about removing acrylic vs removing gel and answered all my questions since I'm new to acrylics. She made sure to listen when I talked about shape and thickness. The salon is very small and crowded, it felt very claustrophobic. The staff was very courteous and friendly. I had the powder dip done. I love the selection of colors they have. However they used a clear gel topcoat with the UV light- it only lasted less than two weeks. A total waste of my money. I have been going here for about 5 years and have been happy with all the various nail techs and have a friendly rapport with everyone there. Today I received a pedicure from a tech that seemed to take a dislike to me. I did not take it personally, she seemed generally unhappy and I felt sorry for her. This place is terrible. I purchased a gift receipt for my sister with my service. I paid $95 , clearly not for just my service. I went to pay and the owner who is always busy and on the phone hands me a receipt and a gift receipt. I was curious where my gift certificate was. The other day my sister tried to use that gift receipt and they wouldn't take it. She said she needed the certificate. So I went in there and talked to the owner. She insisted that she NEVER did that and that I'm a liar and that I basically want a free service. On top of that they way overcharged me for my sisters service. So now instead of just giving me the certificate she said she has to look on the security cameras to see if I'm telling the truth. I just spoke with her and she said now she doesn't know if she can do that. They are a complete fraud. Finally! A nail place on the east side that will do 3D art! It's a bit out of the way and not on the friendliest route for traffic-loathing commuters, but I'm thinking it will be worth it... They've been open seven months and I love how new and clean everything is. The decor is soothing and I enjoyed the soft, relaxing music playing instead of the TV blaring. A pedicure, full gel set and eyebrow wax took just over two hours, and was under $100. Tina did my nails and was very meticulous in her shaping technique. The paint and 3D art wasn't quite the quality I became accustomed to in San Jose, but it was much better than anywhere I've been on the east side thus far! At one point, I expressed concern about the 3D bow potentially snapping off of my nail. The owner (?) gave me a tube of nail glue and practically guaranteed it wouldn't come off. She even said that if they had to do it over, they'd try the acrylic method instead (shaping acrylic right on the nail). I was pleased at her willingness to address my concern. All in all, I would give the pedicure a 7.5/10; the full gel set and 3D art an 8/10; and the brow wax a 10/10. I was quite satisfied with the experience as a whole and I'll be back. read more

I give a 3/5, because I'm done with this place. Last time I was there was about a year ago to get my nails done for a vacation in Hawaii that I was excited about. Got treated like an inconvenience and the nail lady almost died when I asked for a different color for every nail like it's SUCH A HARD THING to do and I'm paying for whatever the extra cost is right! Also the coral color I picked out was not the one she grabbed and told her the neon orange she picked out was not the same or what I wanted, of course the reply is "so pretty" haha yeah but not what I asked for. Look at the pics I showed her, so close except not at all. This place used to be nice, great service, and lots of colors but now turned into a money making machine that doesn't care about good service. Be aware, it is an extra service and they charge $7 for it. The place is clean and, although small, the areas where they work on your nails are not uncomfortable. I just moved to the area and was told Splash was the best place to get your nails done. They have a very nice layout and are always really busy. My pedis are fine. However, they advertise having a nail design option for $5 and up, and I got the most childish work. Twice I went and got designs that my 7 year old could beat. First were plain red nails with stars on the ring finger. The stars weren't even filled in right! I can't argue with a non English speaker about what I expect. But one would expect that you can paint in the lines, and she didn't. Last time I went the random guy working used acetone remover on my acrylics, causing my nails to basically crumble over the last few days. AND I asked for a very basic cherry design on my ring fingers. The lady basically ignored my requests and painted my fingernails white, with two little red balls and neon green stems. It was cartoonish. My advice is not to ask them for special nail designs. They offer it,but can't provide. Plus even I know that acetone is evil to acrylics. That's nails 101. read more
