New Thai food place serving curry and noodles in Rancho Bernardo. The decor is nice and the service is good, but some small things here and there regarding the food that kept it from being a 5 star experience for me. Overall a perfectly decent place to grab Thai food. APPETIZERS: Chicken satay - Lightly breaded unlike other places, gave it a fried fishcake like texture which wasn't what I was looking for in chicken satay. The peanut sauce was also a bit too salty for my liking. Fried tofu - Crispy, with a light and sweet sauce. Well done. Curry puff - A much sweeter, drier, and potato heavy curry. Very akin to a samosa. The flavor was pretty mild, but the skin was nice and flaky. Nothing to write home about. ENTREES: Chicken pad thai - Well sauced and flavorful, though I wish it came with more bean sprouts. They also give you only a spoon for serving which makes mixing and scooping difficult. Noodles are on the firmer side. Panang curry - Too salty for my taste and a little fish sauce forward. Comes with a small portion of white rice that feels definitely too small for the amount of curry.

This Thai restaurant was solid! Right when I walked in I was greeted warmly by the waiters and ushered to a booth. The interior was very modern, bright, and clean. I ordered the Khao Soi with steak and my wife ordered the pad Thai with shrimp. I was pleasantly surprised the steak was moist and medium rare! I've had a challenging time finding Khao Soi with consistently good steak. My wife's Pad Thai was solid but not spectacular. Service was really friendly and attentive and they even boxed up our leftover food for us which was a really nice touch! By 8:30 pm when we left, the restaurant had cleared out for an upcoming 9:00 pm close which was in line with expectations for a sleepy RB evening.

    Hot basil w/ chicken

Came by here for some dinner cause I didn't realize this restaurant had opened near my house. I ended up ordering a hot basil chicken dish with rice and my partner got the creamy tom yum. We also shared a papaya salad together. The papaya salad was probably the best dish we had as the sauce paired great with the papaya strips. As for the hot basil dish it was seasoned well and the sauce used paired well with the chicken pieces and vegetables included. On the other hand for the creamy tom yum soup it just felt like a more mild tom yum soup (less tamarind forward). Didn't wait very long for the food to come out and service was very friendly. The interior of the store was also decorated very nicely. All in all, it's a solid Thai restaurant that I would be happy to revisit!

Thai-rific from the first bite! @spoonthaikitchen Thai just opened in Rancho Bernardo and everything we ordered was so good -- creamy Thai tea, tom yum soup, chicken satay, crying tiger, and pad see yu, was absolutely delicious. A must-try new spot! The staff is soo friendly and love the atmosphere.

Opened around January 2026, this new, family-run restaurant features owners White and Kenny serving up light and fresh, fast-casual Thai dishes in North San Diego. THE FOOD Impressively, the owners ensured that every dish came out piping hot from the kitchen. * Chicken Satay: Fresh, juicy, and served with crisp veggies and flavorful sauces. They did a really nice job on the cooking. * Ginger Fish (Swai): Topped with fresh ginger and cilantro to brighten the dish. This has a calmer, light-to-medium flavor profile, so I highly recommend enjoying it before diving into any of the heartier curries or dishes with robust flavors. * Red Curry with Shrimp: Rich and balanced without being too sweet, and the vegetables were cooked nicely. We ordered a 4-star spice level, but next time I will venture to the 6-7 level for an even more robust kick. THE SERVICE White and Kenny showed great enthusiasm throughout the meal. They were constantly moving around, checking on tables, and eagerly sharing their knowledge and love for food and hospitality. OVERALL A pleasant family eatery serving fresh food with excellent, family-friendly service. Wishing them the best on their restaurant journey!

I saw there was a new Thai restaurant next to Sprouts in the Rancho Bernardo complex and decided to try it out. Overall, we had a positive experience. The ambiance is modern and clean with several tables and booths inside. The menu includes a variety of options including soups, noodles, rice dishes, and appetizers. Their prices are comparable to other Thai places nearby with most entrees between $14-20. The servers were friendly and professional. Our food came out within minutes and was fresh and hot. What could make this place 5 stars? If the chef slightly tones down the salt...the noodles were a bit salty to taste. Also if they add a lunch menu!

Both entrees we ordered, green curry and pad see u were good, full of authentic Thai flavors and spices. A bowl of tom yum soup was also yummy. Place was packed with dine-in customers, and take out crowd was a pretty decent size. Must've also had a few catering orders as well. It took a long time for us to get served but was understandable for there were only two waitstaffs. Customer service was sweet, friendly and apologetic. Enjoyed the food and friendly service! Will come back when it's not too crowded.

Fast service and super kind employees -- everyone was really welcoming from the start. The place is very cutely decorated and has a cozy vibe. It is on the smaller side though, so I can see it being a little harder to seat a bigger party. The crab fried rice was SO good -- everyone at my table kept sneaking spoonfuls from my plate. And the mango sticky rice tasted freshly made and was actually softer than most sticky rice I've had before. Would definitely come back!

Papaya salad, drunken noodles with tofu, red curry with tofu

Looks like this place just opened up near us, so we tried take out from here. I feel pretty confident we'll be regulars now! We got the red curry, drunken noodles (must try), and papaya salad. Love them all, especially the drunken noodles and papaya salad. The spice level is quite accurate, so tread carefully if you get 8-10. Our food was ready in 15-20 mins from when I ordered online. Friendly service when we picked up, restaurant looked nice for sit down too. And our food was piping hot when we ate it at home. Apologies the picture was taken after we started eating, we were too eager. We'll be seeing you again :)

Everything here was phenomenal. We saw this place had just opened so popped in on a whim to give it a try for dinner. The service was quick, hot and delicious. We stopped here after a day at Glen Coco Hot Springs and were ready to pig out. We ordered the chicken satay, fresh spring rolls, and gyoza to start. We ordered classic Thai teas for our beverage and those did not disappoint either. The veggies in the spring rolls were so crisp, the steamed gyoza was flavorful, and the chicken satay was extremely juicy. The star of the show, hands down, was the peanut sauce that everything came with. I usually don't care for peanut sauce but there was something about this one where the peanuts weren't overpowering and it had a nice sweetness to eat. We both also ordered the drunken noodles with chickens and got spice level 6. It was definitely on the spicier side but everything was hot and yummy upon arrival. My friend also got the mango sticky rice for dessert. I personally am not a fan because of the texture but she really enjoyed it!

A Wonderful Surprise - Best Drunken Noodles Ever in RB! Wow, what a pleasant surprise to discover Spoon Thai Kitchen right on the RB/Poway border! As someone who's picky about Thai food (especially drunken noodles), this new spot has instantly become my absolute favorite. The staff was incredibly attentive, and the service was lightning fast - my food arrived at the table in under 10 minutes. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken, extra vegetables, and spice level 4. It was hands down one of the best drunken noodles I've ever had! The ingredients tasted so fresh and farm-to-table vibrant, with wide rice noodles perfectly cooked, flavorful sauce that delivered the good kind of spicy (bold flavor without just burning your mouth), and veggies that were still crispy - exactly how I love them, not overcooked at all. I probably could've handled level 6 next time, but 4 was spot on for a great heat. Paired it with their Thai tea, which tasted freshly made with the perfect sweetness - no overly sugary syrup here. I left so happy! If you're in Rancho Bernardo or nearby, do yourself a favor and try this gem. It's exactly what the area needed - fresh, delicious Thai done right. Can't wait to go back and make this my regular spot!

This place used to be an Indian restaurant that I liked. When my friend made reservations for her birthday dinner here I didn't realize till I got here that the Indian restaurant didn't last. Bummer. Hopefully they just moved to a different location. Upon arriving till the time we left the servers were wonderful. Very attentive and kind to all of us ladies. It was nicely decorated and the reservation spot ready and very tidy for our arrival. What was lacking for me was the food. Way too salty unfortunately. I only had half of a kabob/skewer and couldn't eat anymore. I also had a weird aftertaste from the orange chicken. That didn't have a real orange essence flavor to me. I only had three pieces and didn't even want the third piece that I put on my plate but I needed to eat something. Maybe I'll give them a try some other time. My friend did inform them that several of us felt the same way on the saltiness and flavoring being off. I hope it improves and that they can last at this location.

Wonton soup! The broth had so much flavor!

All the food was excellent!! Definitely 10 out of 10!!!! The restaurant just opened a few weeks ago and we'll definitely be back it was so good! The service was great too! If you're in Rancho Bernardoi it's the place to go! We live in San Marcos but it's so worth the drive!!

The two items that she did recommend didn't really sound appealing so I went with Pad See Ew with mock duck. That's one of my go to dishes at a Thai restaurant. I asked not to have any spice level added to my food, but the food came out and was just generally lacking flavor. It was very bland and even though there was a generous portion of vegetables in the dish the mock duck was super mushy. All the places I've ever been to it's sautéed crispy. Also, the the noodles were all stuck together. Like if you put noodles in water to let it boil, but you don't stir them and they just boil like that in a clump. The restaurant was very cute inside. I would be open to trying it again just because I've heard so many good things that I can't believe this is their standard experience.
