BEWARE- I brought my Silverado to in for a simple A/C issue. The compressor they installed less than two years ago (costing me over $1,100) was no longer cooling properly, so I expected a diagnosis of the A/C system. Instead, I was presented with an almost $8,000 estimate that included items completely unrelated to my concern, such as license plate lights, wiper blades, and power steering fluid service. I declined all repairs because I only came in for the A/C issue. What really bothered me was that after declining the work, I was charged for a "multi-point inspection" that was never discussed, requested, or authorized. At no point did my service advisor mention a fee for this inspection. Based on my experience, be very careful and review your invoice closely. It felt like an attempt to add charges after I declined the extensive repair estimate. I won't be returning. read more

I just found out I was lied to when I purchased my car, the man who helped me process my paperwork is DISHONEST. He took advantage that I was there with my then new born son, tired and hungry and during the middle of COVID! Now supposedly he no longer works there. I will update this once I figure out his name which they are refusing to provide me with. Be careful and make sure to check for experations dates before signing, especially if you pay extra for like tire replacements. I am a single mother of 4, I would have taken advanage of replacing my tires had I known the specific date but I was told 5 years. Additionally, they have a call center who calls to schedule service appointments, they send a confirmation text but fail to actually schedule the appointment on their end so you better hope they can fit you in. UPDATE from 9/5/2024: the finance rep who assisted me, in case he is still there, goes by Tom, Tommy, so I am assuming Thomas. I just found my original post and updated it. Today I am also finding out that they are also crooks. The last time my tires were rotated and touched was during my nonexistent appointment that they scheduled for me. Which I wish they would've asked, being that they placed the most worn tires in the front after I had literally paid to have them rotated elsewhere. My crank is now gone and all that I was left with is what is in the picture. Now I need to file a police report. Make sure to check your car before and after service! My new little family was looking to upgrade to a larger family vehicle, we actually started at Ourisman Bowie and quickly were disappointed with their sales team. After a rude conversation with their sales manager we started to look elsewhere. We came across Sport and from the first (and only) phone call we knew we were in good hands. We handled the majority of the conversations over the phone so we wouldn't have to sit with our newborn at the dealership. In an industry still filled with confusion and unscrupulous sales tactics, particularly in the Wild West of EV buying / leasing, Sport stands out for its honesty, knowledge and patience. Was attracted to the dealership by competitive Internet advertising and good word of mouth, and showed up on a Tuesday to review some Chevy Blazer EV options. Charlie took me out on a test drive, walked me through some models in the lot, and dispensed expert guidance on things like battery ranges, charging speeds, and parts compatibility which rival sales men / women have struggled to answer. Over the next few days I evaluated a few other brands and dealerships but kept coming back to Sport being the most economical and reliable model. The most common bait and switch tactic in EVs seems to be posting a special on a very specific model with no availability, then marking up a similar spec car by an insane margin. No such issues with Sport, over the course of a few follow up calls leading up to decision day Charlie was consistent and fair with both his communication and numbers. Honestly most sales people would have given up on me as not serious or worth the time after my constant stream of small questions . Finally on a Sunday after my other remaining choice committed a fairly egregious paperwork error, I came back here and closed a very fair and pleasant deal with Charlie and Clint on a Blazer EV. Happily took the more expensive of two possible models to give them some extra revenue. To top it off Charlie helped charge the car and put on my plates well after closing time. Only thing preventing the 5th star is that contract and financing paperwork could still evolve slightly given that Tesla and other next gen players are shifting heavily to online ordering . However their effort on a weekend evening stood out and I'd highly recommend!!! read more

Buyer Beware.... Worst Car Buying Experience Ever On Friday 9/12 I received an alert that this dealer had a 2014 Suburban for sale with very low mileage. I contacted the dealer right away and expressed my desire to own this vehicle as I've been looking for this particular year make and model with low mileage. I got a text from Eric in used car sales and followed up with a phone call. He hadn't seen this vehicle on his list yet but was kind enough to walk out and find it and sent me pictures on his cell phone, at which time I asked, do they have a number in mind for the suburban? I was then told that someone in upper management was interested in the vehicle, and he was waiting to hear if the vehicle was going to be sold retail. I called and texted twice a day to see if any decision had been made to sell of not... this went on for over a week... each time I was told each time that I was the very first to call about the vehicle and that I would have first right to refuse it, if and when it became available. On Thursday 9/12 I get a phone call from Eric the salesman's that I had been working with that the vehicle was available to purchase, and he needed a photocopy of my driver's license front and back to begin the sales process, which I sent Immediately... I called and informed him that I would be heading down to see the vehicle (1.5 Hours away) in person and leave a deposit check until they finalized the numbers so I could return with a bank certified check and pick up the vehicle tomorrow... I leave my office, get on I-95 South bound....get 20 minutes in my drive and get a phone call from Eric telling me "Not Come"!!! now mind you I have already spent a lot of time trying to finalize this deal... sitting on the side of 95 waiting to get an explanation...and he tells me to call the General Manager Kyle Bacon.... After several attempts I finally get through to him looking for so sort of explanation....I tell him my entire saga with waiting for this vehicle... telling him that I was informed that I was the first to contact the dealership, the first right of refusal, and literally on my way to close the deal on the suburban as we speak only to be told that another salesperson apparently sold the vehicle in the interim... needless to say I was quite upset about his answer after being told for a week that I had first right to refuse, which I did NOT! and was in route to purchase it. Now I had to drive another 15 miles South just to turn back around so 30 miles in total... In 2021 I bought a Silverado 2500hd from sport to replace a prior truck. The salesman was straight forward, I felt honest without trying to sell me useless stuff and worked to come up with a deal fair for both of us. In the interim I had purchased two non GM cars and was lied to, pushed for very expensive useless add on parts or services and went away with a very sour taste in my mouth. Circumstances became I wanted to downsize from the above Silverado as I no longer needed that capability and I went back to Sport Chevrolet to look at a Colorado. I was not sorry. My salesman and then sales manager worked hard with me and I felt the latter really went above and beyond to try to get me a better number. Maintenance I didn't know maintenance took 4 hours. I had a scheduled service at 8am and arrived a couple minutes before 8 but still waited till 12 to get my vehicle back. I received no updates as it was being serviced, my dad had to call for them to say the vehicle is ready. Sport was actually the fifth dealership we visited, since most others didn't have the trim we wanted without unnecessary add-on packages. Two dealerships closer to our home also fell short on customer service, so we drove to Silver Spring in search of better options. We found both the right car and great service at Sport. Esmeralda was outstanding throughout the process, working with my husband the day before. The next evening, Essie, Gus, and the team even stayed past closing to help us complete the purchase before the tax credit expired. Truly above and beyond! Upon entering you're greeted and everything. They have the AC on so ventilation was good. The overall place seemed clean and there was sanitizer available. This location however is ripping off consumers by charging a "Market Adjustment". Not only that but after trying to explain simple economics to the sales guy I was dealing with. About how they're taking ADVANTAGE of a pandemic during a time of crisis in the U.S.A, The sales guy actually smiled and seemed VERY PROUD of his actions. The employees are NOWHERE near professional since they lack class in how they treat their customers. When talking numbers with the sales guy. He kept saying very loud and rudely " I'm not gonna go back and forth with you " like he had no class whatsoever. Which means if you're coming here to negotiate. You're TRULY wasting your time and they will begin to treat you like garbage. I have never seen sales people act like this nor is it professional. After reviewing the paperwork. This dealership to avoid detection puts their Market Adjustment inside the price of the car so you can't pursue it down the road easily once you find out you're the victim of fraud by the dealership. Not only that but on all the cars. You HAVE to buy their security package which is wheel locks at more then 5x the price and a security sticker at almost $500 With all the crime going on these days. A 2in sticker saying "Theft Deterrent" is going to deter a thief these days. ROFL. So you're FORCED to buy the security package as well as paying the market adjustment as well as paying a "processing fee" too. The dealership tries to circumvent the law since in Maryland. Doc fees are capped by law at 500. Used to be 300. At this dealership they call it a processing fee to get around the law. VERY SHADY. They also don't advertise these fees in their FINAL PRICE as the picture will show. Clearly trying to mislead consumers. At this point after being treated like garbage for a couple of minutes. Because of trying to negotiate and ask what the scam fees were for. The new car manager comes over and says how's my employee treating you and begins to laugh. At this point I stood up and said have a good day. I've never in my life seen a dealership treat their customers as this dealership does. They also are very proud to be ripping off consumers during a pandemic despite according to public records receiving millions of taxpayer dollars in forgiveness money to help consumers. They're ripping off consumers here. Truly amazing.... The noise level was normal for a car dealership except for the sales guy I was dealing with who kept raising his voice like a fool. Since I was the only one in the dealership that day. Can't really comment on the general crowd. Also after reading some other reviews. If this location is ripping people off on new car sales their service department is most likely shady too since while at the dealership. I seen a few people walk out of service into the parking lot mad and drive off fast. After seeing all this. I have decided to personally contact & order OIG to investigate this dealership. They're RIPPING OFF consumers on a MASSIVE LEVEL here and are actually laughing about their actions. Overall. NEVER AGAIN. They had my Silverado for 15 days for a warranty repair. Through Sport I rented a vehicle from Hertz. The total for the rental was $644.92, however, when the reimbursement check from Sport came in the mail for my rental it was for only $460.00. That leaves me $184.92 short. I'm paying $610.00 a month for a brand new pickup and on top of that I'm having to cover an additional $184.92 in rental car charges. Thats messed up. GM said they cover up to $50.00 a day in rental charges, thats $750.00 for a 15 day rental. That certainly means I should be covered for the full $644.92 instead of having to pay $184.92 in addition to my monthly car payment. read more

When I first visited this dealership they were much more straight up (or so they seemed). I even had a good experience with Jim, one of their sales managers (who is actually on the Cadillac side). But then the market adjustments started to show up on their prices and that was that. I understand that a lot of dealers are playing this market adjustment game so I don't want to single out Sports Chevrolet as if they're the only ones doing it. But as consumers, we won't stop getting ripped off until we stop rewarding dealerships for playing those games. read more

I have been a loyal Sport Chevrolet customer (vehicle purchases and services) for well over a decade. Gone are the perks and care once provided by Sport for being a loyal customer. In addition to repeatedly raising service prices, they now as a month ago charge a 3% for using a credit card. This extra charge is not clearly stated in any written estimate. For a huge company they can and should absorb these and write off these as business costs. Due to a recent unrelated settlement, the rates went down last spring to an average of 1.70% - 2.05% (source : https://merchantcostconsulting.com/lower-credit-card-processing-fees/average-credit-card-merchant-fees/ ) Additionally, most if not all the charges from vehicle service are big ticket charges that actually lowers the processing fee (see the above link). Nobody pays cash for the average cost of getting repairs done or maintenance. This change comes off as corporate greed. If a business has a problem with credit card fees, they should take it up with the credit card companies not the customer. I'm taking my business elsewhere. I struggle to write this review because this dealership is owned and operated by a great guy. He truly cares about every single customer and will reach out to you if there is an issue. So for this review I'm just going to explain my experience today. I had an appointment at 9 for a transmission flush and oil change. I was on time and at 12:00 I found out that the work would cost twice as much, which wasn't in my budget. So I wanted to leave only to find out it would be another hour before my vehicle would be ready. No respect for my time and when I expressed my frustration I was told "look we are busy today". Purchased a full size SUV from Sport Chevrolet in 2022. I went back to the dealership about a month ago to upgrade into a new vehicle. Salesman was reluctant to show any vehicle or put together a proposal for trade and new vehicle because he assumed the price would be too high. He then suggested we part ways so I left the dealership. Later that evening a Kyle the sales manager contacted me to find out if he could help out. I told him I wanted to trade in my car for a new vehicle and to then give me a proposal. He then told me he was too busy to do that task. He eventually gave me a price the next day on a vehicle I had to locate on their website. Price was high, presumably MSRP with little discount, low value on trade, and dealer add ons. He then offered to find pre owned vehicles. Bottom line up front is that the sales team here should prioritize repeat customers. That is not the case at Sport. I purchased a new vehicle the same week from a competitor. Update: Gibbs the owner responded and was very contrite. I am sure he will work with his sales team to improve their sales process moving forward. read more
