The used dealer only had one set of keys and I inquired about the second set as buying a Fob and replacement would be an extra expense for something that normally comes with the car. I was told by the manager, Tom Miller, that if the second set of keys didn't turn up in the next few days--he'd get a FOB for me and good deal on having a key made. A few days later, I was told the FOB was in the mail. Well, its now two and 1/2 weeks later and guess what?! the dealership no longer returns my calls or responds to email. Our latest experience came last weekend when we meet with Jackie Barkley after making a last minute appointment (essentially a walk-in.) We arrived with the intention of test driving a few vehicles and simply talking about our options and left with a brand new crv. Jackie was patient, in tune with our needs and gave us such a fair price that for the first time in my car buying experiences I didn't feel the need to haggle (of course I still did - but minimally). Our visit was not an hour and a half visit like many others have claimed but that was simply due to the fact that we went from a last minute walk-in, to a multiple vehicle test drive, to a trade-in evaluation, to a price quoting experience, to the financing process and then ultimately to receiving a brand new fully cleaned and prepped vehicle. I purchased a 2010 CRV about a week ago. This was the easiest car buying experience that I have EVER hand HANDS DOWN. A week or so before purchasing our vehicle I went online to see the models that were available. I was contacted via email by a salesman, Brett Miller and dealt with him through the entire process. Brett was extremely friendly and easy going. He was not pushy at all (which I hate) and was very quick and straight to the point. I knew exactly what I wanted so it was just a matter of getting approved and talking about financing. I expressed my concerns to Brett about my credit as well as talked to him about what my needs were as far as the car was concerned. He allowed me to test drive the car I purchased. After filling out paperwork for him we we moved on to dealing with Max who helped us get financing for our car. Initially we thought we'd have to put money down. When I expressed to them that money was tight and I wasn't going to be able to do that, they worked around our situation and figured it out so that we could actually take the car home THAT DAY. Inspection: Sports Honda Work Done: Mudgett's Auto body, Silver Spring After I realized that the spot on the roof of my car was NOT bird poop, but paint slowly peeling, I took the car to Sports Honda on a Friday for an inspection. Before giving them my car keys, I let them know that I called the Honda Customer Service and the paint job on the roof should be covered under warranty. The inspection for my car took about 20-25 minutes while I waited inside. when my name was called, they took me to the customer service desk. The guy said that they checked and yes, the paint job would be free because it was still under warranty. He gave me a yellow receipt that had the information of the roof damage along with the brochure for the auto-body shop the branch used (Mudgett's Auto Body in Silver Spring). Before I left, he told me specifically that I had to get the job done within 60 days of the receipt, or else I would have to come in to get another inspection. A month afterwards, I called Mudgett's Auto Body to make an appointment to bring my car in on Tuesday. I was quite alarmed when they told me that the job usually took 3-4 days, which was too long as I needed the car by Friday. Also, their operating times were 8am-5pm (Mon-Fri), which meant I didn't have a car to travel to and from home. The person on the phone was very helpful and said that they would talk to the workers to see if that was possible. I did have to pospone the appointment by a week because they were shortstaffed. On the Tuesday I brought my car in, I called beforehand and was told that they could also bring me to and from home since I lived 20 minutes away from the shop. So I brought my car in with the yellow receipt and turned my keys over. After waiting for 30 minutes, I was able to get a ride back to my house. On Friday, I got a phone call around 11am to let me know that my car was finished. After making sure a ride was coming for me, I waited for about 30 minutes before I saw the autoody shop van pull up. When I got to the shop, I retrieved my keys and checked the car to make sure everything was in order. In addition to the paint work, the shop also washed my car! When I went in my car, I did notice that all the mirrors had to be readjusted before I could drive off. All in all, a great experience with both companies. Mudgett's also said that as long as I am the owner of the vehicle, if there was ever a problem with the roof paint job, all I had to do was bring it in for them to fix it. read more

After driving Chevys for my entire life and finding my current one approaching the end of its lifespan, I discovered that Chevy currently doesn't really offer anything in my preferred size class aside from the Bolt, which would be great to have but also impossible to charge from my current apartment. He quickly set me up with all the relevant information/documentation and a test drive. A little under a week ago I bought my very first brand new car with Danny at Sport Honda and couldn't have had a better experience. I'd owned used cars before that my dad had bought for me so buying a brand new car, by myself, when I know very little about cars was a stressful prospect. I did a lot of research though and got 8 competing quotes from DC area dealerships through Edmonds and the Costco Auto Program. Right off the bat, Danny's price was one of the best quotes I got. He didn't balk at my request for a full breakdown of an out the door price. He's totally reasonable and even willing to negotiate a bit within reason. He called me once to talk through some questions I had but otherwise didn't call again, wasn't pushy, and totally accepting that I just wanted a safe, good car that would run for a long time and was a good value if I needed to resell in the future. Due to his great attitude and another good review of him specifically that I'd read online, I decided to go buy the car, a Honda Fit, with Danny. He called to set up an appointment with me and made sure the car was inspected and ready to go when I got there. He had all the paperwork ready and had written down the breakdown of price we'd agreed to making sure I knew where the taxes were coming in. We then went for a test drive and he talked me through all the features of the car, pointed everything out under the hood since I, in all honesty, didn't know what I was looking at beyond the battery and window cleaner container. He was extremely helpful and didn't at all have an attitude that I was female or knew little about cars. Even talked me through the car manual info and pointed out the number I could call to complain about him should I felt the need. But we read that Sports Honda does not do those kinds of tricks. And it was definitely true. We worked with Ginny Marshal and she was great! She was very chill and definitely not pushy. She took us on a test drive, talked to us about the car's properties and told us her real opinions about aspects of the car (positive and negative). Plus the car doesn't come with any additional expensive and mostly useless add-ons like in most other dealers. And when we asked for a price, she gave a us great deal. Someone recommended that I take it to Honda Sport service center since they will have experience working with Honda cars and could run diagnostic tests to figure out the problem. When I called to schedule an appointment, Ernest kindly explained how to drop my car off (which I had never done before so I appreciated the explanations) and told me he would call me the next day which he did. We had a terrific car buying experience at Sport Honda. We had already been to a handful of other dealers; however, some did not have the car we wanted and others were for non-Honda test drives primarily, and we ended up not liking the cars. We had also reached out to some Honda dealers via the internet and that rarely went well. (See another review.) We stopped in to Sport Honda without an appointment and the salesperson who greeted us got us set up for test drives very quickly. He also let us test drive two cars alone, a 2017 and 2018 model, which allowed us to have frank conversations with each other about what we liked and disliked. We really wanted to go home with a car and took long drives. We expected to like the 2018 model more but ended up buying the 2017. The entire process with Louis Ohaka was very low pressure. When we decided to buy the car we asked him if my boyfriend and I could have some time alone to talk before negotiating. He agreed and told us to stop into the office when we were ready and we did. Once seated inside, I provided an opening offer (he sought manager feedback--or whatever they do when they leave the negotiating table), he countered, we countered (he left again to speak to manager), and then came back with an accepted offer. We were paying in cash and had no trade in--which we disclosed only after agreeing to the price--so everything else was pretty easy. As per usual, there were many papers to sign and the process is time consuming even under the best circumstances. We talked to the finance guy for the paperwork, paid, and then took photos with Mr. Ohaka before leaving. I have my own horror stories about both subtle and overt sexist treatment from other dealerships, and would never buy a car from a dealer where I had experienced that. I am the one who does most of the car research in our house and I'm the negotiator (my bf is too, too sweet) so when other salespeople talked only to my boyfriend or over me it was very frustrating.
