Our car buying journey from Sport Honda was epic, here is the tale. We had contacted Neil Dudley via the online form about a 2011 Kia Sportage SX and he was extremely responsive. There were only 3 available in about 100 mile radius from our home. Sport Honda was on the outer most area (about 80 Miles). He was able to talk to the sales manager and save this vehicle for us as we were only a few days until our wedding. After the wedding we made our way to Sport Honda and did a test drive. Neil even took the car over to have a "wheel bobble" checked at the service department for us. The car buying experience was perfect and most cars come with a 3 month\3K warranty (this is important later on, however we were never given ANY warranty paperwork upon purchase), it was quick and everything was approved without issue. At the time we had asked to start the engine from cold so that we could hear anything that was wrong, Neil in his rush forgot, and we moved on not thinking anything of it. The next morning after the Kia had sat overnight we heard a engine noise. Like a clattering inside of the engine. We contacted Neil about it and he went about finding someone for us to talk to and to try and get a copy of our warranty paperwork. We finished our Honeymoon and took the car to our normal mechanic to have it looked at. They said that they clatter was not normal and we needed to have it checked out, that it was possibly due to a issue that was stated in a Technical Service bulletin issued by Kia for cold start engine clatter. Neil did his best to try and get us in contact with the service department at Sport Honda (the process took over 2 weeks, numerous phone calls and voices mails), but the service person when we did finally talk to him stated that Sport Honda wasn't liable for TSB only for recalls and they are only required to make sure the used car is safe. This service person also had attempted to get a copy of the warranty paper but never did. They also never offered to have us bring the car in so they can look at it and since we are over 80 miles away just stopping by isn't an option. After so many attempts to contact the service department, and to find out about our warranty, we reached out to Kia Customer Care to see if they would help with this issue. 2nd had warranty for Kia is 60k miles and this Kia was at 63k and some change. We opened a case with Kia and started the process to get it checked out. I then reached out directly to Robert Fogarty, via the website, stating everything that had happened and how unhappy we we with trying to get the issue looked at and get our warranty information. In my amazement I received a email within 48 hours directly from him apologizing and passing my information to a Service manager, Jeanne Dugan, who called me right away at 630pm that night. She again apologized and stated that she had seen our warranty in the computer and asked what they could do. At this point we had started the ball with Kia and we wanted to see the outcome of this. to add at this point we had not been driving this new-to-us Kia at all to ensure we were staying under the 3k miles for warranty. Fast forward 3 more weeks, 2 Kia dealerships and one Denied Request for Goodwill repair from Kia. The Kia dealership we had it at had diagnosed the issue as issue with 2 cams and rocker arms inside the engine, requiring a new short block (this is basically a new engine). The quote for this was over $6200. Everything was torn apart and they had had it for a week. I had been keeping Jeanne up to date with emails, when I tried to reach out to call her i was unable to get to her via her normal number, i believe she was out of office. So I reached back out to Robert since with the information about Kia not going to fix it and the total cost, asking for help getting our warranty information. He again responded right away and was able to get Jeanne to get back to me right away. Jeanne reached out with the phone number for the warranty company. However when we called they stated that we didn't have a mechanical warranty. After speaking with Jeanne again she was able to get the finance people to get it worked out. It seems our warranty wasn't submitted to the company. It took another few days for Jeanne to get us the contract number, then the Kia dealership started the claim. Everything was approved and a few days ago we took receipt of the Kia with a new engine after paying the $100 for the deductible. It was close to a 10 week journey and even through it started out frustration with Sport Honda's responsiveness after talking to Robert and Jeanne they were able to get everything worked out for us. Neil our sale guy was amazing through the whole thing as well, even through he couldn't do anything about the issue. Everyone spoke to us after normal hours and were fast via email to respond. My husband and I were VERY PLEASED with the process/service we received from Sports Honda. The longevity of their sales team, really shined through as being more than "CAR Sharks" as you consider most car dealerships. I would HIGHLY recommend Sports Honda in the future. From their sales team, financing staff and their service department. It is a top notch dealership. SOOOOO HAPPY that we chose them! My Sales Consultant was Julius Crane and he is the BEST SALESMAN I've ever encountered in my life. This is my 4th vehicle purchase and I have lived in numerous states. Julius was by FAR the most EXCEPTIONAL Sales consultant I have ever encountered. He was knowledgeable about the vehicle, he tailored every aspect of the showcasing of the vehicle to our needs and he showed us how things worked and ensured that we understood. He never rushed or pressured us, and gave us his undivided attention. He didn't play the musical chairs bringing in the big guns to add pressure to close the sale. He not only ensured we knew about the vehicle prior to sale, but even after the sale. We were the last ones to leave that evening, the dealership was closing for the night and he still spent another hour with us helping us to understand/set up the technology inside the car, even helping to pair my phone. He followed up 4 -5 times next day/week to make sure we ENJOYED the car/ and answered questions. Julius takes his time and ensures that you understand and then continues to follow up - give you homework and pointers on how to get the best out of your vehicle. I HAVE NEVER ....NEVER...EVER.. Experienced this type of Customer Service in my life. My husband and I had gone to at least 5 other Honda dealerships - shopping for the best price/experience.. but looking at the same vehicle type - Honda CRV. Each time - I would learn a little bit more about the vehicle and narrow my view on which type and color.. but it was always the CRV. When we got to Sports Honda and met with Julius Crane, HIS KNOWLEDGE of the vehicle and how it worked surpassed ALL 5 of the other Honda dealers that we'd visited. He was the most knowledgeable and was extremely professional and personable all in one. I would recommend Julius Crane to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. I would highly suggest not to come to this dealership for any automotive work. Unless you want more issues on your vehicle after bringing your vehicle in for any type of repairs/maintenance work. On May 20, 2023 I brought in my 2023 Honda Civic Sport for my first maintenance on my vehicle that day they achieved to mess up my brakes, left scratches on my rims and chipped a large portion off my rim which they ended up having to replace that one with a brand new one. Waiting an hour and a half for an oil change, tire rotation, and a multi point inspection, plus an additional hour of replacing the chipped rim. The advisor Ray Collins walked with me to my vehicle and I noticed scratches on my rims I had addressed this issue to the advisor Ray regarding the scratches on the rims (which they made to my rims) and this is what he told me "you have to be careful driving because there's rocks on the road." then proceeded to walk away from me. I have video proof of my rims without any scratches before I brought my vehicle in that day. I took pictures of the scratches after the appointment was done. Thinking that they would be professional and tell me come in another day and we'll have our rim repair tech handle it or something along those lines they did not do anything to resolve that issue. To say the least the customer service here was mediocre a 0 out of 10. Now thinking that was the only issue then comes to my surprise a squeaking noise from my brakes whenever I come to a complete stop. I was not able to turn back around and address this issue to them and have them resolve this issue that they made because I was already running late to my family gathering thinking that the appointment was only going to take an hour and a half turning into another hour. All of these issues were not equipped with the vehicle when I purchased it. Please DO NOT bring your vehicles here for any type of auto work. read more

Just bought a new Honda, and Steve Kaplan was fantastic! I saw someone say that any 5 stars are fake. I dont doubt his experience was horrible - but I guarantee that this review is real. If you look at some of my other reviews, you prob can tell I've got a quick temper and not always easy to work with. However, I also like to give praise when due. Full disclosure - I LOVEE car shopping and would like to think I'm pretty good at negotiating, so that definitely helped w the experience. However, I think this falls on the shopper, as why would any place of business just drop the price of what they are selling if they don't have to? No hidden charges after settling on the final price, nor any other unpleasant surprises. Steve was super friendly, did not reflect your "stereotypical" car salesperson at all. He was very busy but did a great job of balancing all his customers. Since I could see he was busy, after we completed our (quick) deal, I told him he didn't have to worry about explaining the features of the car - he still insisted on showing me all of the features, which was great. My boyfriend also said this may have been the best experience he's had at a dealership. Finance guy was great too - great personality and easy to work with. However, we did have financing taken care of before we came to the dealership, so didn't have the chance to see what their options are. When I declined to hear about the extra warranties, he did not push any further, but I liked that he was able to quickly tell me about the options without coming on too strong. While our buying experience here was good, nothing prepared us for the nightmare to follow. In short, our temporary tags were counterfeited several months after we bought the car. We found out about it when we received two EZPass violations incurred at the entrance to the Intercounty Connector toll road nearest Sport Honda. The police who took our report said that this was common and probably an inside job. I had to work for hours and hours with the police, the MVA and EZPass to resolve this (after filing a lot of paperwork, writing letters, providing documents, and the police report). A few days after the EZPass violations, I received two moving violations in Baltimore City. Baltimore City does not accept a police report to excuse a violation unless the police report is dated before the violation! I did not even know the tags were counterfeited until I received these citations! So, my police report is naturally dated after the violations. The only way for me to resolve these citations is to go to trial in Baltimore which I have to do in January on two separate days (driving 3 hours each time). Thanks to dedicated public servants at the MVA, I finally got the counterfeit tags de-linked from my name. But here it is November and I am still dealing with this nightmare. Meanwhile, Sport Honda just blew me off when I raised the issue with them. Later, the salesman apologized saying that the dealership and others around there knew of this problem. All I can say is that I regret the day I called Sport Honda for a quote that led to this. Buyer beware. read more

Excellent customer service. I purchased my new 2019 odyssey ex-l with nav res at a different dealership. Unfortunately, I have had some issues with it and the delearship I purchased it from was unable to fix my issues and told me my car needed to "break in". I had brakes squealing at just 200 miles EVERY time I stopped. I also had crazy rattles. Due to the incompetence Of the dealership that I purchased the van from, I decided to go elsewhere. After reading reviews online I chose Sports Honda and I am so glad I did. Service manager Jeannie Dugan is great! She's direct and gets the job done. I appreciated her commitment to make sure my van was taken care of. Also my service advisor Robert was fantastic. He kept me in the loop the entire time. He also went on a test drive with me and the technician that was working on my car to make sure my issues were resolved. This is the type of service every customer should receive, but unfortunately not everyone gets. I will only take my van here from this point on. It's worth the drive to get the job done correctly. I bought a Honda Odyssey from Sport Honda this past December due to my 2004 Toyota Sienna getting totaled. I have bought my last three cars from Fitzgerald Toyota and Hyundai. with their no haggle pricing which is competitive and no pressure sales people it makes the buying experience easy and stress free. But this time I opted to buy the Honda Odyssey. Since Fitzgerald doesn't ell Hondas, I called on several Honda Dealers and spoke with T.J. Troutman at Sport. He was very nice and eager to help with my buying experience. The price he first quoted me was the best price I could find among 4 different dealers. Honda had no rebates or promotions on the Odyssey at the time. I would highly recommend T.J.and Sport Honda to anyone looking to buy a Honda. He was never pushy but kept in touch over a 2 week long process to purchase my car. The business/finance manager, Ben Thompson was also very professional and helpful with my financing. Joshua is an amazingly helpful and personable salesman when he assisted my aunt with her purchase. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the type of car she wanted, always willing to go the extra mile in assisting her with her questions/concerns and always offered to show my aunt how to operate different functions on the car. I have always found car shopping tedious and nerve-racking but Joshua made the process extremely easy and fun at times with his honesty, humor and kindness. I was even more impressed at the fact that he was not the salesman that we initially set the appointment up with but he still provided the same level of customer service that he would if we were his actual client. I unexpectedly found myself in the market for a new car at the end of August. There are many other Honda dealerships closer to where I live, but Sport Honda offered the best price. In addition, my sales consultant, Joshua Pesantez, was fantastic. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for assistance with buying a new Honda. Joshua was always responsive to my emails and calls, even responding to emails on his days off of work (I told him it was ok not to respond on his day off, but he said he wanted to make sure his customers didn't miss out just because he wasn't working that day). Joshua really made my car buying experience very stress free which was not my past experiences with car dealerships. I recently bought a Honda Fit this dealership. Jackie Barkley, my sales consultant, made the process as stress free as possible. When I first visited the dealership on July 18, there were no Fits to be had so I put a $500 deposit down. Honda Motors was not cooperative in sending any Honda Fits to the dealerships in this area. Jackie kept me informed on a regular basis, but in early September, when it seemed like I would never get a Honda Fit, she went the extra mile and contacted dealers outside the area and found me the Fit that I wanted and had it transported to Sport Honda. I would recommend Jackie to any of my friends who are looking for a new Honda. As a former Toyota owner who had a really bad buying experience, I would probably tell my Toyota owner friends to consider a Honda over a Toyota if they were able to have Jackie arrange the sale. read more

I am disappointed in the Honda Civic I purchased at this dealership. In 2008 I bought a new 2008 Honda Civic. It was never involved in any collisions and meticulously serviced for all routine maintenance at this Honda dealership over the years at over $9,000.00 per Honda. At 117,000 miles, the engine block cracked and antifreeze leaked out. Cracked engine block is a known defect in the engines of Honda Civics according to Honda and the warranty was extended to 10 years from date of purchase. Honda service quoted me $8,000 to repair Honda's engine defect. Yes, greedy Honda wanted me to pay for their own manufacturing engine defect. I expected the Honda Civic to last longer than 117k miles but the car is essentially totaled. Shame on you greedy Honda folks for ripping off a critical care nurse. I will never buy as Honda again. read more

I purchased a brand new 2015 Honda Accord last week at Sport Honda. Nicholas Strapon was the salesperson. He was extremely attentive. The deal we made was very low key. Their price was cheaper than 4 other DC metro area Honda Dealers for the same exact vehicle. They did not try to sell me a so called "protection package" which consists of mud flaps and dent/ding protectors as well as nitrogen filled tires. At least one other dealer in Montgomery county tried to sell me nitrogen filled tires for $149.99. Most local tire places will fill tires for $5 per tire. None of these so called extra is necessary. Sport Honda gave me more at least $1000 more for my Trade-In than several other dealerships. All in all Sport Honda delivered in a low key pleasant way to purchase a new vehicle and they treated me with dignity and respect!!! read more

I visited a few Honda dealers in the area (a total of 4 in all) when shopping for a new CR-V. When it came time to actually buy one, I decided to try Sport Honda first and, in retrospect, am really glad I did. I worked with TJ Troutman and was really happy with him. It wasn't a hassle at all. The price negotiation process was quick, efficient, and fair, I got a better price than I was guessing I would (and I had done a TON of research on pricing in the weeks before), and there was absolutely no pressure to buy extra add-ons we weren't interested in or to upgrade anything. The entire process was very smooth, and TJ and Sport Honda lived up to their high reputation in my experience. I came to Sport Honda committed to buying a Honda CRV Hybrid AWD, but was not expecting to complete a purchase that day. Jonathan Njoku expertly described the features of the car and explained the process. The price was acceptable but I wanted a red car - not available at the dealership. He arranged to get one to the dealership that afternoon, but the hour became late, and I had a commitment at home. I completed the payment process, and he delivered our new car to my home about 8 p.m. I returned to Sport two days later for a fuller briefing from Jonathan on the features of my new car. One days later I realized I had not collected the E-Z Pass transponder from our trade in. Jonathan immediately located that car and held the transponder for my pick up today.
