My 996 turbo needed a new clutch accumulator, and had gotten a quote from BTM which was really high in labor (5hr) and not in line with all the discussions I could find online about this common part replacement. Got through the Yelp app, reach out to Ryan at Sportech, it was straight forward, in 15min I had a reasonable quote and an appointment set up. No funny business, 1h job, labor priced fairly (in consideration of other places, and I was able to talk directly to the mechanic. Simply awesome! I brought in my 911 to get my IMS bearing replaced, and I could not be happier with the service I received. Although, it took a little longer than expected, Mark and his team were always professional and communicative. Great experience with Mark yesterday. I called ahead of time just to see how much for an oil change for my 981 Boxster and I want to see if I can come by the same day due to my schedule. Knowing it's a very short notice and I don't expect Mark to have availability. Mark said he will need to check to see if he has the filter in stock and if so I can come in today. I feel he is trying hard to accommodate my schedule and I greatly appreciate him for that. Once arrive, Mark greeted me and everything is rolling smoothly from there. A colleague and long-time Porsche owner referred me to Mark at Sportech for a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) on a Cayman S. Mark understood the time constraints with getting a PPI done and was able to schedule me in on short notice. These guys got my girlfriend's 1979-ancient Porsche 924 running reliably, which takes some doing as the car uses the notorious Bosch CIS pre-electronic fuel injection system. The previous mechanic could never get the car to run more than a few miles without stopping. It's hard to find anyone who knows how to deal with pre EFI Porsches. If you have an early 80s or earlier 924, 911, etc this is the place to go. read more

I first started coming here when my Porsche needed an oil service. Even though the name remains Ken's Sportech, Mark is the owner. I believe he was one of the mechanics and purchased the business from Ken and kept the name. His shop is located in the same center as WheelWorks, and is kept spotless. Though they primarily work on Porsche vehicles I started bringing my BMW here, first for an oil service, then for schedule maintenance and repairs. Mark has always taken good care of my vehicles at considerably less cost than what the dealerships charge. On one schedule maintenance the plastic shroud underneath the car came loose and started dragging on the ground. I called Mark and he said he would order a new one and to bring the car back in. A couple of days later I stopped in an Mark replaced the shroud, no cost to me. read more

Mark is the owner of Kens Sportech and his main mechanic is Ace, both great guys and always responsive to the customer. He's done some great work on a 928 I had before since his background is heavy in the 928's and he also understands the water pumpers the 996 and 997 cars really well. I took my 67 911 into him for a rear bearing changeout and left it with him for the day. Mark inspected the the bearing and determined it only needed to be tightened....most shops would complete the change out and charge the full amount, instead I walked out of there with less than a hour for labor. Mark has always been good with his customers in this way, he really sticks to his estimates for labor even though it sometimes goes way over in terms of work. We need more honesty in the trade like Mark provides. I would not hesitate to recommend him to other Porsche enthusiasts....give him a try, you'll find that he's much better than the other independent Porsche shops in the area. read more

Sportech did a front axle service and front brake job on my Carrera. Extremely fast and friendly service. Top quality work and premium parts were used. Highly recommended for any Porsche owner. Went back for a second time, after my clutch went out. They replaced the pressure plate, flywheel, clutch, and IMS bearing. Much faster service than the dealer. Highly recommended! read more

They were very helpful as I didnt exactly know which service my car needed since I bought it recently with low miles for the model year and had no service history. They explained everything to me...what it may need and what it probably doesn't need yet. The price was right where I expected it to come in at and definitely lower than the dealership would have wanted. Car was nice and clean when the service was done too...looks like they washed it. He doesn't try to up sell you on repairs that are unneeded just to jack the price. I have found him to be the most honest and thorough mechanic I've ever encountered which includes ALL of the domestic repair shops and dealers that I've worked with on numerous American cars I have owned over the last 30 years.
