    French toast

My friends and I came for brunch this past Sat. This is only my 2nd time eating in Auld Shebeen. I like the Irish ambience and the food was really good. I ordered French toast off the menu. I enjoyed listening to the Irish band rehearsing. My only complaint was our waitress. Emily seems a little gruff with us. She wasn't nasty, but wasn't overly friendly either. When I first arrived I was greeted by a blonde waitress, I didn't catch her name, she was very nice and I told her I was waiting for my group to arrive, she checked with the manager to see if it was okay if I waited. She offered to get me something to drink. One of the members of my group doesn't eat in pubs too often, he said the noise level was a bit much for him. I wasn't really bothered by it much. I might visit again in the future.

Came in this past Saturday and sat at a high top near the bar. We were at right away and people slowly trickled in after us. They had live music, which we didn't expect but it was a nice surprise. Service was GREAT. Both the waiters and bar stuff were all very attentive. We ordered the spicy cowboy burger, chicken club and the Irish spring rolls. The food wasn't very hot, but it wasn't cold. The spring rolls were the star for me. My partner enjoyed the burger. I felt like it could've been seasoned more, and the dried jalapeños tasted a bit stale. The chicken club was SO thin and the texture was OFF. We didn't finish it... Overall we would definitely come back, but it might be best to stick to the classic Irish dishes here!

My preferred pint of the cream ale on tap.

Missed by one day! We went to AS on the Thursday just before the 4th. I chose the steak and mushroom pie. It was generously sized with super tender steak and a savory brown gravy. The puff pastry topper added a nice light crunch and chewiness. I'm definitely coming back for Pint & Pie night on a Wednesday.

This place was absolutely packed on the Friday night we went, but we were seated rather quickly. Our server was great and very knowledgeable of the menu. We each got a signature cocktail and a burger, all turned out great. We really enjoyed the live music as well!

Cozy Irish pub in downtown Fairfax. Live music and a good sized bar. Fish and chips had a nice smooth texture and a good amount of fish on them. Mashed potatoes were buttery. Beer menu could have been a little larger.

My, oh my. I've driven past this place many times but never ventured in until recently. We have a friend who works as a server here (shout out Andrew) so a friend, my partner and I decided to stop in to celebrate an award. We ordered the St. James Gate Guinness Beef Stew. Absolute 10/10, I loved every bite! I would SO get this again as someone who loves mashed potatoes. My friend got the braised short rib as she had it last time and loved it. My partner got the BBQ short rib sandwhich and really enjoyed it as well. Since it was HH we also participated in the drink portion and thought the drinks were well worth the price. I would definitely come back here! Andrew let us know they also do fun themed karaoke and dance nights as part of a late night initiative which we also plan to check out in the near future! There is ample space both booth seating, table seating and bar top. There is no reserved parking for them so consider the garage adjacent to it which is free.

Went back for happy hour where there were some good deals: $4 draft beers and $6 mules. There is Irish music playing in the background. Service is very friendly. Some fun pictures of Irish history all around the restaurant as well, I always return when visiting my family! There is a free parking garage nearby.

Great Guinness and Guinness stew. Fantastic chicken pot pie with a puff pastry crust. Service was excellent. Good atmosphere but parking was terrible. It must do a great walk in lunch from the local businesses down in Old Fairfax.

Fabulous shepherds pie, fish n chips, Reuben, I could continue however you just have to go and experience dinner. If it's after 7pm enjoy an Irish jig, an entertainer singing Irish favorites! Service is beyond helpful, always checking up, asking if anything needed! This review is from couple weeks ago and I had been here twice on my visit this time

Came for restaurant week lunch and we were very happy with our meal. Had it not been for restaurant week, we would not have known about this place. We opted to try their potato leek soup and a salad for balance. The soup was quite flavorful and the soda bread was perfect as a dipper. The salad was standard and nice to help cut the heaviness of the soup. Our server was very nice and came by to check in. The restaurant interior felt like it transports you out of Fairfax and into a pub in Europe. After our apps, we both received our pies. The chicken pot pie was not your traditional one with a crust on the bottom and top. Instead it had a puff pastry laid on top. Sadly, the pie itself was not all that warm and it lacked flavor. The pastry was quite flaky and buttery but unfortunately, I would wished for the traditional crust. The shepherds pie on the other hand was delicious. The crust on the top of the mash with the saltiness of the beef was delicious. It is quite filling and could easily be shared between two people or even split across two meals. By this point, we had forgotten about dessert. When our server brought them out, we both looked defeated. The shortcake was more my favorite but both were delicious. We just wish we had made room for them. Definitely come hungry.

Absolutely Outstanding--A Perfect 60th Birthday Celebration!…read moreWe hosted my wife's 60th birthday party at Ned's for more than 50 guests, and I can't say enough about how incredible the entire experience was for her. From the moment we started planning, the team, led by Gordon, went above and beyond to make sure every detail was professionally handled with care. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the night unforgettable. The menu was a huge hit--Gordon catered an array of fresh and flavorful options including both hot hors d'oeuvres and an aesthetic charcuterie board that managed to delight our entire eclectic group. The drinks were equally impressive, with the bartenders keeping the energy high and the glasses full all night. And the live music? Phenomenal. The acoustic artist created the perfect atmosphere and had people dancing, singing, and celebrating from start to finish. What really stood out was how seamlessly everything came together. Hosting a party of this size can be stressful, but Gordon truly made it feel effortless. He even formatted the pictures I put together to play on one of his big screens so everybody could enjoy a video montage. Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had. If you're looking for a place that delivers great food, great drinks, great music, and truly exceptional hospitality, this is it. They helped create a milestone celebration we'll remember for years. Highly recommended!

I ended up biking and there's a bike stand really close by. My friend was craving fish and chips, so we ventured out this way. Because we came on a Thursday they had a deal going where if you ordered a pie, you could get a beer for free. Of course I had to partake, so I ordered the special pie, which was a masala, chicken, curry pie, and it was quite good. A bit small for the price point but with the beer included totally worth it also because their fries are so good. I could demolish over a pound of those fries. They were thick potato and maybe the extra added bonus of having to use a glass ketchup bottle added to it. My friend and I were also taught how to properly hit the ketchup bottle to get the ketchup out by the bartender. You find the 57 on the bottle at an angle and bump you palm there that instead of hitting the bottom and hoping and praying that ketchup comes out. It actually worked or at least it was more efficient than trying to hit the bottom of the bottle upside down. I had never had a hand pumped beer before, but it was quite good. They are a warm beer rotating and it was quite good, it especially paired well with the pie or fish and chips.

He always recommended Kilroys to us as he was a regular at this restaurant. So, it became our annual tradition to have dinner at Kilroys. When you walk into Kilroys, you'll appreciate the amount of details thag went into the interior design of the restaurant. It should be noted that Kilroy's honors its veterans. My uncle was a proud veteran, so he always felt welcomed here. There is a lot of military memorabilia throughout Kilroy's. The walls are filled with so many photos that walk you back through historic events. There's so much love for the USA in here! The menu consists of a lot of traditional American food. Most of the items are heavy, so expect to leave with a full belly. They have your typical meat, fish, poultry, and pasta dishes. However, they also offer flatbread pizzas! There really is something for everyone. I typically order catfish or trout. Both are delicious, but I really like their catfish. I love Cajun spices, so it's always nice to enjoy something that hits close to home. I also appreciate that their servings are large, because it's well worth the money that you spend here. I would have never heard of Kilroy's if it wasn't for my uncle. Kilroy's definitely lived up to the hype. I enjoy coming here because it's like a hidden gem. It's situated in a small shopping center and you'd probably walk past it as it doesn't really stand out.
