I walked into sportsman's warehouse the other day, on my way to go hike Lake 22. Realizing that I'd forgotten a few items, for the hike, I figured that I could just pop into SW and pick them up and be on my way to the trail with only a quick detour. Being that I had my hiking pack with me and in that pack, a few valuable camera items, there was no way I was going to leave it in the car, even if just for a few brief minutes. My policy has always been-- they can't steal what they can't take. So, I've always carried my bag with me, much like a person who brings a purse with them. Really, not that much of a difference. Especially since a large purse is no different in size than the backpack I was carrying. So, I walked into SW and within a few moments, I was chased down by a lady who'd come from the customer service area. I'll call her "Karen" because I didn't get her name. She was, however, wearing a hat and had glasses. "Karen" was very adamant about informing me that I couldn't be a patron of SW, with the backpack on my back. Upon hearing that, I explained that I wasn't about to leave it in the car, for the reasons I've already mentioned here. I then asked her where I COULD put it, because I'd like to do my shopping. She then informed me that it wasn't her or the stores responsibility to watch over it and that I could kindly leave. Obviously, she didn't want my business and I wasn't about to argue any further with her. I did inform her that I would be going across the parking lot to Target, so that I could pick up the items I needed, knowing full well that Target wasn't going to tell me to leave upon arrival. Of course, I was right, and Target got my business that day. In the future, I'll make sure to refrain from giving any business to SW, because here's the one thing that I know: "Karen" could very well have actually let me shop and spend my money with them. But "Karen" is the profiling type and I happen to fit the "profile" of what "Karen" thinks would be stealing from them. I get that when you're old and somewhat archaic, not just in age, but mentality, that when you see a few tattoos, it scares you. Believe me, I'm 41 years old and I've spent over half of my life dealing with people who view my tattoos as something to be afraid of, or to single out in situations like this. But here's the thing, "Karen" and Sportsman's Warehouse as a whole: I am not the lowest common denominator when it comes to your views of tattooed people, or just a guy who's carrying his backpack with him. If you feel like I'm going to steal from your big, corporate store, why not just have your loss prevention officer follow me around, since you have no problem with profiling me already? As it stands, I won't be visiting a Sportsman's Warehouse ever again. I'm sure "Karen" was just a customer service rep, moonlighting as a loss prevention associate, but who's loss really was it? The firearms department does not respect appointments scheduled online and also does not respect the number tickets used to call visitors in the numbered order. Last time I came by appointment, but lost 40 minutes because the guy at the counter chose to serve a walk-in visitor whose ticket was after mine, not to mention I had an appointment and the walk-in visitor did not. There was only one guy at the counter, and he did not bother serving multiple visitors at the same time, waiting 40 min for the out-of-line visitor to complete necessary forms. Their manager is great, but he is not always at the counter. read more

The only reason this review isn't a 1 star is because of the last few employees that my family and I worked with. They were very helpful and nice. We came into this store for our first time today. Usually we go to Cabelas or Dick's, however, I had looked online and saw that SW sold Leupold sunglasses and per their website and Leupold's, a pair I was interested in happened to be in stock at this location. I figured I'd also stock up on some 9mm ammo while at the store while I was at it. We found the display for these sunglasses and asked the closest associate for help. She came over and tried unlocking the case with no luck. She figured the keys were wrong and tried a few times. She told us sorry but she couldn't open it up. We asked if someone else could try or maybe a manager. A gentleman came over to assist and he opened it right up. I grabbed the model I was looking at but didn't see the colorway I was after and the model fit perfectly. I asked if he had the black pair with grey lenses and he quickly let me know that what I saw was all he had. I told him online listed they were in stock and his response was "I bet it did." And nothing else. Just stared at me as to prove me wrong. I handed him the pair back and told him thanks and walked away. My family reminded me about buying ammo on my way out but I didn't want to spend any money at that store at this point. The associate could have explained why online and store stock didn't line up, he could have offered to check another store to see what they had, he could have offered to order some in for me. Instead he made a snarky response and gave me an awkward and uncomfortable stare. I ended up buying the glasses on Amazon when I got home and saved $53 compared to the list price in store. They will arrive in 2 days. I highly doubt I'll visit this store again. read more

I genuinely try to at least go twice to a place before leaving a bad review and but this was an exception. I'm all for supporting local businesses before anything else but the members at the firearms department were just too rude for me to consider coming back. First, I don't consider myself an expert but when I ask a question, I shouldn't to feel like I'm being treated like a child nor should you be super condescending towards someone possibly purchasing hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Also sarcasm is only funny once but when you drag it on for nearly an hour, it gets old really quick. Something else to mention is I shouldn't feel like I'm interfering with their day by looking for assistance, especially if you're behind the counter of the department I'm trying to buy from. Second, you are allowed to sell firearms to out-of-state residents. All firearm dealers have state code lookups and I've never had any issues with other stores with what they're selling. Yes, I understand state laws can be difficult to figure out but I had no problem purchasing one at another store down the road. The process for the background check is lengthy but most folks are patient and willing to wait a little longer. Third, this is embarrassing to even mention but I'll refrain from naming anyone, maybe remind your employees the importance of bodily hygiene. More than likely you're going to spend a lot of time talking about different firearms and it's not pleasant to spend that time with someone who smells horrid. That being said, folks at the cash registers were great. They were informative and easy to talk with. I genuinely hope this store gets better. I hate to see local stores struggle but when this was the kind of service you bring to the table, I just can't justify buying from there. read more

I used to really like this place, however, tonight was a big disappointment. I was not acknowledged at all upon entering the store. The sales associates were too busy talking amongst themselves. In fact, I was not acknowledged until I walked out empty handed. Their gear is still nice but I was not impressed with the way it was stocked, esp when it came to the base layers. A sales associate saw me there looking perplexed but never made an effort to assist me. Total turn off. I guess I will be looking for my winter gear elsewhere from now on. read more

I had a gift card that they could look up in system with a value. It was older gift card and didn't have a PIN number. Yet they could look it up and clearly see value of it. They could would not honor the card because I didn't have pin. Shady business practices. They changed their cards to have pin after I received this card and now they won't honor it! I'm here on a Sunday morning 3 weeks after Black Friday and there's 20 people out here waiting for the store to open (they're late And not open on time). Totally not worth the $50 is saved on the "Black Friday Sale" to waste hours of my time. These scumbags also cancelled 2 of my optics orders that I bought on sale due to "low stock" BS. Here we are literally a few days after I get the cancellation email and the item shows that it's in stock again. What a bunch of F'N SCAMMERS! If you're not going to honor the price after my order went through then why have the sale? Seriously F**k this place. I will be calling in on Monday and canceling all of my orders. I have been in this store several times and there is ALWAYS a person behind the counter, who is feeble. Either she doesn't know how to work the register, gets confused, like a kid getting turned around at Toys R us, or is inundated with the task, is concerning. Patrons what get their shit, pay for it and leave. Not stand 5 people deep behind the ONE OPEN COUNTER. There is always someone who doesn't know how to work the debit card machine and my favorite, ask the counter person about the product, which she might not know. She should defer those inquiries to the floor, tell the person to move to the side and be on with the next customer. Or a better concept... open another counter! They have some great stuff here. But overall, if I have to spend 15 minutes standing in line on an item, I spend 2 minutes acquiring, it is not worth it. Especially on the weekend. CHOP CHOP Sportsman's. Aaron at the gun counter spent over an hour (closer to 2) helping us find the right scope mount fit for the gun we are buying! He is super knowledgeable and friendly, saved us a huge headache figuring it out on our own. We ended up buying the gun plus 2 sets of rings, 6 cases of ammo, and the scope. Probably would've waited if he hadn't have helped so much with the scope fit. He deserves a raise, Very thankful! read more

Been in many times, always the same issues. No shelf tags saying what the price is or wrong prices and wrong description, missing shelf tags. Stop filling holes on shelves with wrong product and incorrect tags! Try to find some one to check a price, find someone is the issue. Very rarely one of the 4-6 registers open, have to check out at the customer service desk and the line is always long. I know your going to say it's because of COVID but this store was like this prior to that. Do they have someone in store that is responsible for price discipline????? Okay first things first, the personnel are great here. Very helpful, and good selection. However, the lines are absolutely insane. 45 minutes to purchase a firearm when there were only two groups ahead of me. Right now it's 11:00 on a Friday, and there are 7 people in front of me, many of whom just need to pick up their weapon. In the meantime, rather than helping people at the gun counter, someone was stapling up Sale signs and other inventory tasks that could easily be done when the line was shorter. I'm addition, several other workers in other departments essentially just standing around. Whoever's in charge of personnel really doesn't know what they're doing. If it was just one visit, fine, busy day. But two in a row, this is a problem. Never purchasing here again, that's for sure. read more

Very bad firearm department. I have bought three firearms from you guys and got sights installed. One of the firearms arrived with some rust and the sights took two and a half months when I was told two weeks. The online and over the phone hours are incorrect and that wasted my time a gas. Yesterday I was refused service at 7:45 PM because the store closed at 8:00 PM. Well your online and over the phone hours said 9:00 PM. The next day I explained what happened refused a discounted price. Time to check out Cabela's. read more

The staff are hit or miss but as far as selection for ammo goes you can not beat them. They have more ammo in more calibers than you could ever dream of. Prices are ok but if you want to get the more obscure rifle and pistol calibers look no further! read more

Went to purchase a firearm on 3/20. I called for an update after 10 business days on 4/4 and they told King County had not replied to the background check. Legally they are allowed to release the firearm after the 10 days but refused to do so and said they would resend the background check to King County. They promised to get it done and would call me with any updates. Called again on 4/22 and they said King County replied on 4/17 and they called us to pick it up. I have no messages on my phone nor any calls on my phone bill from their number so I don't believe they ever called. During the 4/22 call they said it has been over 30 days so I would need to submit another background check and restart the entire process. I asked for a refund and they refused to give me one unless I come in person and ask for it. I refused to do that and instead had to issue a chargeback to get a refund. It's pretty bad when FFLs refuse to follow the law or make sure their paperwork is getting processed. And then when they make mistakes, refuse to admit it. Then refuse to correct their mistakes. I bought a $180 Benchcraft knife at the Everett store. When I purchased the knife, I asked the clerk if I could return the knife it I choose to. His exact works were "yes, as long as it is in sellable condition." So the next day, I decided I didn't want it, and went back to the store to return it. The clerk said "you can't return knives", and pulled out a piece of paper behind the register showing what items could not be returned. I told him that I was specifically told by another clerk that I could return it. I asked for the manager, and explained to him that there were no signs anywhere in the store that knives could not be returned. He said "You will have to talk to corporate about out signage." I will shop nowhere else for sports and outdoor-related goods than Sportsmans Warehouse. My boyfriend and I have had such amazing experiences every time we have visited, and I cannot say enough about the great customer service we received and continue to receive. It's such a breath of fresh air to shop here, particularly if you have been to Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's. No wait, the employees will spend as much time with you as you need, the prices are competitive, and they go out of their way to make sure you are happy. My boyfriend and I primarily worked with Taylor in the gun department, as well as his manager, and based on those experiences, we will always return here. My boyfriend even had trouble redeeming a voucher for a Blackhawk holster he bought, and when he called Sportsmans Warehouse to talk to them about it, they realized that they had made a mistake and offered him a gift card that they would hold in their store whenever he could come and get it. Had one good experience so far out of multiple trips. Bought something online to have shipped to the store and was told I'd get an email when it arrived. The date came and went 3 days ago and got no emails or any sort of explanation. I've tried calling the store multiple times and no one will even answer the phone. I want to let you know about your store in Everett, Washington. i went it to look for a new hunting back pack since we are in season right now. i found a really great one, it was the "Horn Hunter Main Beam 46 Liter Hunting Day Pack - Realtree Xtra" i saw the price it had marked on it and it was for $89. Instantly i thought it must be on sale so i didnt think twice and i went to counter to purchase it. well when they scanned it it came up with a total of $189 i told the clerk is it not on sale becuase it has a tag price of $89, the clerk wasnt sure so he was double checking . the clerk then called someone else to come verify and they told me there had been a mistake on the price tag and that they would not be able to sell it to me at $89 dollars but since it was there mistake that they could sell it to me at their cost which would of been $106. i was like ok i understand, thats still a great deal. He would have to get his manager to approve of it first so the manager was called. This is where i felt very disrepected and felt bad for the other clerks. the manager told me that he could sell it to me at $126 but he couldnt at cost. so i told him that the other clerk had already told me that they would sell it to me at cost, they would just need manager approval. the manager then said "i dont care what anyone else told you, i can sell it to you for $126, my store still needs to make a profit out of it." he was very rude to me and my friends. i just simply asked if they honor the price its marked and why wouldnt they sell it to me at their cost if that is what i was told. He just kept saying i dont care what they told you, my store needs to make money still. so long story shot i didnt come home with a hunting bag not becuase the $126 (which was still a good deal) but because the way we were treated and the way the manger spoke so low of his clerks. i was very dissapointed with Sportsman Warehouse. im an avid Hunter and love stopping by your stores but service like this makes me not want to stop in again. I purchased a gun back 2018. Worst experience. I followed up more than 5x to get clearance. I had clearance due to my cousin being in the FBI. They pushed it thru. But it appears the store did not want to transfer it. Then next thing you know I purchased the same gun in a different store got it cleared, transferred within less than 6-8 hours. Thanks to my cousin last name Kim. Then now I'm 2020, I was here twice in the past week to see if they were In stock for g43 mags, no stock...Came here, I gave them 4 stars for their customer service! They were very helpful. First of all I want to say that this is not a negative review because of shipping times or gun laws. This is a negative review because of the lack of customer service. Also, I should mention that the incident I am about to talk about happened a week ago. I was waiting to do this review so I had time to calm down and not write out of anger. My experience with this store began back at the beginning of June 2021. I had ordered a couple of firearms online because the prices were good and the website said they would be at the store by June 14th. The first one arrived on the 15th but when I went to pick it up (having driven 1.5 hours), the guys on shift couldn't figure out how to separate the 2 purchases and told me I could leave the fire arm until the second one came in, cancel the second one, or pay again and wait for a refund. So I left the fire arm there and waited until the second one came in. The second one came in on the 18th and I drove the 1.5 hours down to Everett to get the the background check started and pick up the first firearm. The guys on shift that day seemed to be better and had mentioned that they would have to do training with the other guys in separating purchases. After the 10 day minimum waiting period, I called to see if the background check had come back and it did not until July 7th. When Stephen called to let me know that they had finally gotten it back and I could pick up my weapon, I let him know that I was unable to make the 1.5 hour drive down until July 22nd. He said no problem, see you then. I ended up getting a phone call from someone at the store on the 15th asking for some information to clear up paperwork with the first firearm. I asked if it would cause any issues with me picking up the second one and was assured that it would not. So at this point, I have had 2 phone calls with the employees and neither has said anything would be wrong with the purchase. I finally made it down to the store on the 22nd to pick up my firearm and am told that I would have to redo the background check (and wait another 10 or more days and drive another 1.5 hours from my house to the store) because it's past 30 days of the first background check. The only other option at this point was to get a refund and never go back. So that's what I chose. When I asked the 2 guys working that day why something wasn't said during the 2 times I spoke to them, I was told "I don't control what other people do." And this was coming from the guy that was supposedly the manager of the firearm counter. I hope that people see this and decide to go somewhere else. Looking at other reviews, I am not the only person who has had issues with the store employees. Some simple training and care for customers would do wonders for this place. read more

I needed to purchase some new hiking boots/shoes and checked about 10 different ones o line, all showed inventory in and around my size (9-1/2 to 10 depending) being in stock. When I arrived a browed for 10 to 15 minutes and nobody approached me. I went to the customer service desk and one of the five people inside looked and me and I asked to help in shoes. She said sure and she walked me over to the shoes and waved a young man down to help me and left. When arrived I told him what I wanted to try on and he said they did not have my size/. I showed him his online store info and he said we don't have them and did not offer to look in overstock or anywhere else. He suggested I try on what he had on the shelf. I drove from Arlington to south Everett because they show them in stock and they don't even offer to look. I'm not going back, it's bait and switch. Good morning, So I loaded the family up this morning to head in to your store to do some browsing. I say " browsing", but honestly it's rare we leave without dropping at least a moderate amount of cash. In fact, my wife has purchased 4-5 guns from there in the past 18 mos. alone. Unfortunately, it's likely we won't be back. Instead, we'll be making the drive to Cabelas for any "brick and mortar" needs. This morning we started our browse in the furthest corner in the ammo section. There were two employees behind the counter and one customer on the other side (I gathered the customer was likely a pal of the employee with the gutter mouth). To be clear: the employee in the black shirt carried himself with a professional demeanor. The other guy (400+lbs) behind the gun countered however, shouted (no exaggeration here) out an f-bomb in his discourse with the customer on the other side of the counter (again, likely an acquaintance of his). I let the first one go, but he proceeded to repeatedly use the f-word shamelessly as if my wife and kids weren't standing right there. At this point, I had no choice but to step in and call him out, saying "Hey man, my wife and kids are standing right here!". The worst part is, at this point he locks eyes with me like I'm some kind of jerk and begrudgingly mumbles "yeah, ok" under his breath. No apologies. Again, it's unlikely we'll ever be back. But you should know that customers like me that drop cash frequently in brick and mortar stores as opposed to online are growing fewer and farther between. When it gets to the point where you no longer have a job, you'll be able to thank, in large part, your boy behind the gun counter. Best, Seth read more

This place is horrible. I've been trying to buy a pistol since mid May and it's now July 1st. I bought online. About a week later, I received an email stating that my items were ready to pick-up. I knew the pistol wasn't ready because I hadn't done the background check, so I figured the extra magazine I ordered must be ready. I drove up to Everett from Kirkland, did the background check, then stood in another line for awhile to pick-up the magazine, but they didn't have it in stock and couldn't tell me when it would be available. About 3 weeks later, I received another email stating again that my items were ready for pick-up. I called to see if the pistol was ready or just the magazine or what, but the phone just rang and rang and rang. I tried calling 5 times during that day. I responded to the email with the same question and got no response. I waited until June 30th to call again because that was about 35 days after completing the background check. I got someone on the phone this time. He told me that the background check waiting period of 30 days had expired and I'd have to come back up to Everett and do another background check. I asked him if we just keep doing background checks indefinitely until the government gets back to us? He said, "Yes". I'm not sure that's correct but it doesn't matter. My biggest problem with Sportsman's Warehouse is how they treat their customers. I would not buy anything from them again. Go to a smaller gun shop. Also, I sent them an email to cancel my order completely. If I don't get a response after 7 days, I'll report the transaction as fraud (which it is at this point) to the credit card company and have them deal with it. UPDATE: I've emailed and called several times, and I can't get a response from them. When I got someone on the phone last month to inquire about the background check, he told me I have to wait 30 days and if the government doesn't respond to the background check request, I have to keep returning to do a new background check every 30 days forever. I've contacted my credit card company to get my money back. I'll report back. read more

I have purchased lots of items here lately and finally decided to give them another try at providing a few firearms that I wanted to buy. I purchased 4 of them, they gave me a date to pick them up, then it changed, then I called and asked for an update and that is where it went completely wrong. I was treated rudely, asked to speak to a manager and he was a jerk as well. The answer I got was "when we get to it we will let you know". Wow! I've been to this place about a dozen times. I sometimes bring my developmentally disabled client here. We like to look around at the different things. I specifically went here because it was closer than Cabela's in Tulalip and also to me it seems like more of an independent company instead of a big Corporation. I'm not sure if it is because this particular store is in Everett, or if it is just the ambience of this company but today was the last day that I will be in there. There were no signs anywhere instructing people about following the covid-19 guidelines, and when I was in the store I witnessed no less than 5 people blatantly walking around without masks on. I then realized that the staff would look at you and then walk right by. And that made me remember that every other time I was in the store the same thing would happen. The staff would take absolutely no interest in you whatsoever, unless you look like you are having fun, or had a smile on your face. Then they zoned in on you because it was suspicious. It didn't matter whether I was at the gun counter or whether I was at the front counters or whether I was standing right by an employee... Nobody gave me attention. They were all too busy focusing on themselves or even talking to other employees. I went into the store today wanting to buy an archery set, or a gun, but left empty-handed because the store just doesn't care if their customers need help or not. In the same way that they don't care if people wear masks or not. It was a real shock after I visited Cabela's, Trader Joe's, and even Walmart and saw the mask ordinance being strictly and professionally enforced. Thinking about today's visit made me remember that the only time an employee at the store took interest in my developmentally disabled client or I was when we were enjoying ourselves. I used to work at this location in Everett. The location was always understaffed and constant changes in management which made this place a not so great place to work. Coverage was difficult due to the lack of employees and not to mention the amount of call offs. The coworkers were kind, but there were a few racist, sexist, and homophobic incidents which made me very uncomfortable as a Bisexual Filipino. Customers are horrible and don't understand how to listen to instructions ESPECIALLY when checking in firearms. I wouldn't recommend working here as it shows how incompetent a lot of people are and ignorant they can be. read more

Been there 4 times on different occasions to try and ask about firearms i need to purchase. The staff treat customers like where non existent. Today, there was one guy at the counter while there was 2 in the back. 7 customers all together that we started welcoming each other. So we hanged out with our tickets and not even a word from staff. Finally we all just left. Whats the point of even having such bad employees that they are either hiding from work or just ignoring customers.i can order my firearms only however; i will still need to pick up from them as its the closes. If you plan on visiting the gun counter, pack a lunch and bring a lawn chair, it's gonna be a while. Wait times are ludicrous and people tend to try and jump the line or leave. As a matter of fact, I showed up today and to my surprise there was only one couple at the counter. I foolishly thought I'd be in and out quickly. 30 minutes later and I'm writing this review, still waiting. I can buy a house faster than I can buy a scope here. read more

I been waiting to pick up a gun for the longest and they haven't called me back yet . It's been 2 weeks . Then when I try to call them I keep pressing 0 or 1 for the guns department and no one answers ! The numbers don't even process ! The lady operator on the phone just repeats itself . Terrible customer service from the manager of the gun department. I purchased a bow for my 6 year old. Then after going home I realized it wasn't even the same bow that was advertised. So I tried returning it and was told that it wasn't possible, so I asked if they can at least exchange it for the one that was advertised and showed him the missing peepsight missing knock ring, and missing quiver and the fact that it wasn't even the same color. And the manager was rude and pompous about the entire situation and told me "your just kinda stuck with it. Nobody in the store told me I couldn't return it after purchasing the bow, so I thought he would be reasonable and see that it wasn't even the same bow that was advertised and at least exchange it but I suppose human decency is just fine these days. I Will never shop at this store again and suggest others to not get screwed over by the sportsman warehouse in Everett Wa. read more
