Good Coffee, Good Bagels, but very long wait. Spent an hour waiting to get a bacon, egg and cheese. If you come during a busy time, expect to wait, and no bagel is worth an hour.... Even if it is a very good bagel. Would come back for bagels to go read more

Honestly good bagels, just not worth the wait time. Waited 45 minutes for a bagel with cream cheese and a bagel with bacon after waiting 30 minutes in line. There is only one person making the food, which can be suggested why it takes so long. I appreciate the passion to have each bagel/sandwich to be perfect, but there has to be a better system. The cashier is so kind and quick, but in my opinion, just not worth the wait. If you want to try it, I strongly suggest buying bagels and making them at home. As for us, unfortunately we will not be back. An hour and 15 is just not worth it for us. read more

Buddy, you are in the SERVICE business: if you can't be nice, stay in back and just bake the bagels. Bagels are fine but the service is very slow and lines are always long. Not a family friendly establishment as strollers are not allowed (there is a sign stating this on their door) so it's basically impossible for us to go there for all of these reasons. The model of inefficiency. The line stretched around the corner and I saw one cook slowly cracking eggs on a flat top. There were 3 employees taking orders and making coffee. I am a bagel snob after experiencing these bagels! I love love love these fresh bagels. The lines do get long, but so worth the wait if you have time. Can't go wrong with any menu item. Bagels with cream cheese are very yummy and so are the breakfast sandwiches. The eggs are cooked fresh in front of you. Not frozen and heated up precooked patties like other bagel shops. Coffee isn't the best in my opinion. I'll usually grab a bagel and go to the nearby dunkins for my coffee. This place also has cool hot sauces, sodas, and candy! Ok, I'm serious: COME HERE NOW! I have always loved my carbs (pasta, rice, bread) but I was not a huge bagel lover. I felt they were too dense/hard/gross. Until I came to Spot! Their bagels are deliciously light and fluffy but still substantial. I have never felt so strongly about a bagel sandwich in my life. Do me a favor and try the grilled cheese with ham and tomato on their onion bagel. Absolutely 100% drool worthy. Prices are extremely reasonable plus if you're into soda, they've got every type of bottled soda imaginable. This is definitely my new favorite local lunch joint! read more

Hundreds of 5 star reviews, you must be kidding me, Yelp! My wife, 3-month old and I were meeting some friends at a nearby park and we had about a half hour to grab lunch and pick up a gift for a friend at a liquor store. Not wanting to spend a lot of time researching lunch, I googled "sandwiches" and this place came up #1 in Norwood. "OK cool", I say to myself "exclamation point in the name, this place will be exciting!". We walk in and it looks cool, old soda signs, a bunch of candy, fresh bagels in back, we'll get a nice bite outta this place. But there is a pretty long line. We stand in it for about 5 mins, and it moves only a bit, so my wife and I decide I can run over to the liquor store a few mins away to pick up the gift. I think to myself "I better be quick, surely ordering a few bagel sandwiches can't take more than 10 or 15 minutes, TOPS!" I go as quickly as I can at the liquor store. I'll admit, the array of craft beers you can find at a liquor store today slows me down a bit, so I'm browsing for a bit. 10 minutes later, I settle on a 6-pack, and I think to myself "Argh! I better hurry back! I spent way too much time looking at beer, my wife and child are surely standing outside the car waiting for me by now!". I hastily walk back. I look around my car. I do not see my family. "Maybe they wanted to stand in the shade", I say to myself, and look under all the nearby awnings. No family there. "Maybe they wait for me in the cool AC of SPOT!", so I head in and look around. No. It can't be. I have been gone 15 minutes and my wife and child have barely moved. They have served maybe 3 people in the entire time I've been gone. I resign myself to wait in the line, thinking I will surely be eating a bagel in 5-10 more minutes. More time passes. I begin to realize there are but 2 people behind the counter. One takes orders and makes coffee, the other assembles ALL the sandwiches, and runs back and forth between the front and back of the building to bring up more bagels and eggs and whatnot. No, no, no. This is so inefficient, so slow! More time passes. Finally, we place our order. Surely, it must only take about 5 mins to put some turkey on to 2 bagels. "No", I think to myself, resigned to my fate, "not here". 5 mins goes by, 10, 15. I begin to lose track. I look at my watch. I am 1/2 hour late to meet my friends. It has been 65 mins from when we walked in. Where did the time go? Finally, at about 70 mins, they hand me my order, and I walk out, relieved. It is a sweet feeling, to finally be freed from SPOT!. "These bagels better be fantastic!", I say to my 3-month old daughter. She stares at me blankly. I drive 10 mins to meet our friends. I relay the story of SPOT!. "Hope it's a good bagel" they all say. I finally settle into a bite. "This is fine" I say to myself. "A pretty OK bagel sandwich, indeed". I have been to Dunkin Donuts and I have been to New York. I have been to Cafe Fresh bagel and Bagel Time. I have been to Bagel Rising, and I have been to Stop and Stop. I have eaten a good number of bagels. This bagel is pretty good. It is not great. It is better than Dunkin Donuts, but nowhere near what you might get in any number of bagel shops in New York and New Jersey. I am disappointed. I am even a little angry. These are the best bagels in MA - full stop. They rival anything I have found in New York. What is the cost of a bagel this good? Cheap - like really cheap. Two bagels with cream cheese and a large iced coffee will set you back ~$4-$5. What is the catch? The wait...which can be long. If you visit mid-morning on the weekend come with patience. Avoid this place unless you like waiting 90+ minutes for a breakfast sandwich. The owners seemed nice but the older woman helping out was extremely rude when we asked about our order. Multiple people behind us got their orders before we did so understandably we were curious if ours had been forgotten or misplaced. We were met by snarky comments and blatant lies from this woman about our order instead of a simple apology or explanation. I feel as if the 3 stars is premature. I've heard such amazing things about this place. My only experiences as of yet was carry out breakfast after a 30 minute commute to the office. I think 3 is sufficient for now. My coworker tried to call and order in advance for breakfast club. She was told that wasn't possible. If I had read the recent 1 and 2 reviews prior I would have been better prepared for the level of service I received. To be fair I have only been a customer 1 time and the bagels are pretty good. To contrast that with the level of service... the level of pain probably doesn't make the reward of a good bagel worth while. At 7:30 in the morning it took well over 1/2 hour to get 3 bagels. Further, the friendliness in the service abruptly turns to cold, rude indifference if you ask for any level of customization of their sandwich menu. I presume no customization is to expedite service... but they are missing many points here. First they are spending more time debating with customers, second customers are not getting what they want and potentially leaving pissed and third it's costing them sales. The guy in front of me did not order his bagel because he wanted peanut butter on the side and they wouldn't do it. I wanted 2 things - skim milk for coffee (no) and my bagel scooped (no and so I ended deconstructing my sandwich to remove some of the dough to meet dietary restrictions). As it relates to the coffee, I literally had enough time to go outside, ask my wife to go to Dunkin to get our coffee and she still made it back before I got my order. It's a shame, it's a good looking facility, plenty of parking, good bagels with slow, indifferent service. If the owner reads this, my advice is to add labor, get sandwich orders earlier in the line and try saying yes to the needs of your guests. read more

There were 2 people working behind the counter -- one taking orders and cashing people out, as well as making coffees AND grabbing bagels and spreads. Then the second person is the cook as well as the runner to the kitchen (on the other side of the building) when he runs out of ingredients. Having only two people working the FOH when there were about 35 people in line is ridiculous. I would have loved the lox sandwich or even to have gotten my bagel toasted, but I was not about to wait another 15-20 mins. after having already spent 45 mins. waiting to place my order! The bagels were fresh and tasty - still warm from the oven. Service was attentive, I was a little nervous at first as most people around me were regulars and knew exactly what they wanted. The line can be long depending on when you go but it is so worth it! We moved to Norwood in the last year and when we were looking for apartments, we stopped by this place for breakfast. I couldn't believe how long the line was but the food was good. I stopped in again on my way to work this morning and there were maybe 3 people in line.
