I picked up a Pastrami and a turkey sandwiches for lunch. Sorry there is only a picture of the Pastrami but the turkey sandwich looked just as tasty. I skipped breakfast so when I got my food I ate the turkey sandwich before remembering to take a picture. You will just have to drop by and see for your self how yummy it looked. I can tell you it was so delicious and filling. The pastrami smells so good, since I am full from the turkey, I am saving it for later. I am sure it will be as good as the turkey. I always look forward to coming here. But today I was disappointed with my order. Ordered my normal salsilito turkey sandwich. I've been going for months because the sandwiches are always good and on point, never have had to check my sandwich to see if they made it correctly. BUT once I arrived home to eat my sandwich, upon opening it they messed up my order and put MUSTARD when I order it with no mustard. Tried to call the store and they don't pick up. Good sandwiches overall, but let me tell you, a bit on the overpriced side. I used to get sandwiches by my company when I worked close by, but now it was time to try it on my own. The quality is good, but $14 for a smallish sandwich with roast beef? No sides either. They use Boar Head, but I could go to Safeway and buy enough to make 4-5 sandwiches with their cost. Ordered the BLT the other day and was not disappointed at all! The dutch crunch bread baked fresh daily was nice and crispy. You can tell that it's fresh and baked on-site. There was a generous amount of filling in the sandwich too. Located in an industrial business park near the San Jose Airport, it's a convenient place to grab a bite to eat before flying out without being limited to what's available at the terminals. There's plenty of parking and it's right off highway 880. I can't wait to try the pastrami sandwich next time! read more

This place was such a rip off. I paid $18 and some change for a custom turkey/salami sandwich and chips. As you can see in the pictures, they put about one single slice of each type of meat. On top of that, they very sparingly included the vegetables. I just started working in the area and this place came up as a nearby sandwich spot but I will NOT be back. As we get through the rainy weather, how about another retrospective review. This time from last summer's heatwave: Really wanted to like this place. Because really, what's not to like: Odd location - check Caters to the working crowd - check Nice, understated patio - check The sammy however just didn't do it for me. And that's how I did when I ended up in the industrial side of the Montague - First Street - Timble sector of the Golden Triangle. There's a little bit of everything. SJC to the west, offices on North First (notably eBay, Pay Pal and the local NBC affiliate) and a warren of warehouses and industry. Lunch time can get wicked crowded at Market Place, the strip mall on corner of First and Trimble. It was lunch time and instead of heading over to that location, my wanderings reminded me to check out this place. Secluded and tucked away, I remembered seeing the table umbrellas peaking over the fence line when heading south on 880 and thinking to myself, 'what an odd place for an eatery'. But when you're there it totally makes sense. I got there early and the printed sign at the door suggested that Spreadz draws crowd and that phone in orders wouldn't be accepted after a certain time or something like that. So I was surprised to see the inside relatively empty and quite large. Almost resembling a night club during the day without the curtains, disco ball and lighting. At one point Spreadz offered entrees, but now the menu is pared down to just sandwiches, salads and soup. Chips and cooler drinks are SOP. There are however fries, tater tots and onion rings. So I go with The Italian and grab a soda and chips and head for the patio. It's tiny but extremely well-kept and clean. The fence is high enough that it manages to block the view of parking log and the highway. The Italian comes wrapped tight and is pretty good weight. I dig in aaand...that's it. Nothing 'wow' about it. Hate to say it but the sandwich was good but pretty plain. Totally underwhelming. I'm a potato chip fiend but this brand didn't do it for me either. Couldn't be too bad as I demolished the whole thing. Expectations too high? Maybe The place started to fill up gradually so there is a following. Despite a lack luster sandwich experience, eating at Spreadz has a certain charm to it. read more

Lunch was very good! Tater tots were consistently crispy on the outside and soft inside, plus stayed warm to the last one. #14 Reuben, with added mustard, was very tasty. Bread, had sourdough roll, was more prominent than the corned beef or even the sauerkraut, but don't get me wrong as there's no complaint here. This place is more on the pricey side.. $13 - $15 for a sandwich without chips or a drink. I'm not sure if it comes with it, as it wasn't clearly marked on the menu? There is a sign that says "grab your chips & drink before ordering" on the wall, but we saw it after the fact. I don't like their sandwiches as their bread is more on the thick size.. but my BF does. Solid place for a quick lunch tucked into a business park off I-80 and Montague exitin San Jose. Good selection of both hot and cold dishes along with a great drink selection. Friendly and courteous staff wearing PPC masks, good size outdoor and indoor eating areas. They do a brisk takeout business too. The breads are fresh and they use top notch ingredients like Boars Head meats in the sandwiches. I have had the Italian, Pastrami, and Turkey sandwiches which are all good. On the hot plates I have had the burger and Philly cheesesteak which are both excellent along with their tasty French fries. My only disappointing one was their chicken Philly which I recall used diced chicken meat...should have used shredded as abetted choice. What can I say, I worked in South Philly for two years. Also watch out about the Bundaberg Guava as both times I got that one it was explosive! Overall, a great place for lunch and quick friendly service in the heart of the Silicon Valley. Very disappointed with the owner of Spreadz dealing with food touching his face and cell phone and going back to the food! As a regular at both locations that behavior really concerns me. When I told an employee, he then told the owner and the owner proceeded to follow me and my daughter out to my car to tell me that he was not making sandwiches so he can touch his face & phone without washing his hands and go back to making food. I cussed his behind out! On top of that, I ordered a philly chicken cheesesteak and they messed up with that.. Gave me beef instead of chicken. Ridiculous! read more
