I had such a great experience at Sprig! The food was delicious and the service was wonderful! We had a rather large party and the servers were so attentive and helpful! They anticipated needs ( extra silverware, more napkins, water etc) and were very accommodating! Sometimes at other restaurants you get servers who hate large parties but the staff at Sprig were so welcoming and happy we were there! Shout out to server Keon for all of his help with our table! Comfortable elegance and yummy food define this cozy neighborhood restaurant. Our family of five has been to Sprig several times this winter. We keep returning because there is something for everyone. I hate taking my kids to a restaurant where they are served overpriced frozen food. At Sprig, the child options are excellent and FRESH. The atmosphere is fun and laid back. We can sit, and enjoy some family time together at a place that mom and dad also enjoy. Some of my favorites include the trout, the mussels, the fried pickels, and most of the veggies. My kids love the chicken and homemade mac and cheese. Sprig's half plate offerings make a family meal very affordable. A great bar for adult night, also. The cocktails are incredible--very different and refreshing. Lunch salad was marginal and seriously overpriced for that time of day. We had to ask for a bread or cracker. A plate of two leftover corn muffins were served. They were OK but why did I have to ask? Love this great neighborhood restaurant. Small, intimate, if they would turn up the thermostat I'd give them 3 1/2 stars. Farm to table, upfront with their sourcing and ingredients. I would have given them 4 stars but despite the great ingredients the veggies were just plain jane and a bit boring - naked roasted beets and green beans that seemed a bit over cooked. The proteins ROCKED! Best salmon ever, cooked hot and fast giving it a nice crunch on the outside, nice and moist and perfectly medium rare as ordered. The braised short ribs were just as awesome, rich and melt in your mouth with an interesting potato hash. Good wine selections by the glass (and recommended pairings). Good service. Gluten free offering, although they were out of pasta. Also out of two or three other items. I was excited about checking out Sprig after seeing their menu online and how much they offer that is gluten free or can be made gluten free. Unfortunately, the dishes all looked better on the menu than they actually tasted. My fried chicken was somehow very dry even though the skin was soggy. The green beans were way overcooked and the mashed potatoes were bland. My husband ordered the burger, which he said was just ok. We also got the grit fries for an appetizer...again, very bland even though they were very filling. In addition, there was a group next to us on the patio with 5 kids under the age of 10 and the parents let them run around the patio, in and out of the restaurant, running back and forth from the park next door and one even was riding his scooter through the patio. Now, I know this a family friendly restaurant in a strip mall, but it was 9:00pm on a Saturday night and the patio was full of all adults and they were the only kids at that time. I'm disappointed the restaurant didn't say anything to the family as it was clearly annoying all of the customers on the patio and we decided to skip dessert just to get away from the loud kids. As luck would have it, we ran into some friends already dining at Sprig recently. The staff was very accommodating in letting us join their table so we could catch up. Even though each party was at different stages of their dining, the server didn't miss a beat. Excellent service. We love that the owners are so hands on. They really seem to care about their food quality, the customers, the staff, etc. They handle situations calmly which is refreshing to see in a privately owned restaurant where emotions can run high. I had the shrimp po-boy which was very good. My husband had the duck which he enjoyed a lot. Our friends also said they enjoyed their entrees. Great wine selection at reasonable prices. My child loves going there because it is a treat for him to get Coke -- there he gets Mexican Coke. The decor is fresh and pleasant. This place is decent. Kind of hidden away in the back of a parking lot but don't let that deter you. They change the menu all the time and the food is good. It's all organic and made in house. They had this mushroom and potato soup and it melts in your mouth, but it wasn't on special the last time I went- ah! I was very excited to try Sprig when I heard they had gluten free options!.... The decor was nice. The gluten free substitutions were just "OK". I had a panini and the gf bread was very thick and dry... My dad's sandwich on normal bread (a reuben) was good although he said it was missing oomph - there just wasn't anything spectacular about it. My mom's burger, however, (with the gluten free bun) was to die for! We all wished we had ordered that. We also enjoyed the side dishes (GET THE GRITS). I think the most confusing thing about our experience, other than a small mishap of our waiter bringing us the wrong food on his first try, was the manager. Let me start off my saying our server was excellent, very good about refilling our drinks and making sure we were happy, and looked AND acted extremely professional just like all the other wait staff. The manager, however, seemed very out of place. Our little food switch up mishap could have been stopped by him if he had been watching the food go out. He was simply standing against the wall- shirt wrinkly and untucked. Blank/dull expression on his face.... I don't know if he moved once.... What was the weird part was that he came up to our table and DIDN'T INTRODUCE HIMSELF as the manager. He simply asked us the same question our waiter had asked our table just a moment before "how is everything?" To which we replied "good". It was only AFTER we left did we realize that he was the manager.... Uh. Weird. Not to mention very unprofessional on all levels. To sum up: get the burger, don't order the sweet tea if you like actual "southern" sweet tea (they give you unsweetened with an odd syrup to mix in yourself. This neighborhood joint rocks. They are friendly, and the food is great. You can get almost anything gluten free, and it's pretty healthy! My only complaint would be that they should switch up the sides menu more. They also do half-priced bottles of wine on Tuesday, which is a great excuse to go enjoy the evening at this bar. Treating myselt to a meal at Sprig has become a wonderful habit - for date night, family dinner, quick lunch, business lunch, or cocktails at the bar. The pimento cheese on the PBLT is perfection. It's also available as an appetizer, but I prefer it with the BLT. The butternut squash soup was delicious - perfectly seasoned - and a generous portion for the price. The salads are incredibly scrumptious but simple, not at all overdone with too many ingredientsor heavy dressings. The greens can actually be the star of the salad. My most recent Sprig Plate probably had the last of the delicious local tomatoes, as well as the best field peas and butter beans I've had since my grandmother passed. I think the Spring plate tastes best with the homemade cornbread and tomato jam. I wish I could substitute a wedge of the cornbread for one of the veggies, but what would I take off? The corn pudding this summer was spectacular, and I was disappointed when they ran out. Please keep this item on the menu, even if you have to use frozen corn. It's delicious. My husband swears by the Sprig burger, and the friendly and accomodating staff always comply with his request for a fried egg on top. He also loves the fresh fish and seafood dishes. I hope they will bring back the pork cheek from the Spring menu, which was superb. Maybe a different name is in order, as people turned up their noses at it - until I shared a taste with them. It was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The staff is very accommodating of my three children. They are friendly and attentive without hovering or being of the sickly-sweet(give-me-a-big-tip) variety. They always put my children's orders in first, so that my husband and I can enjoy our cocktails without whining children. They also take the endless dropped forks in stride. My kids feel welcome here, and they actually eat and enjoy the food. I am baffled by the complaints about the prices. I buy local, organic, grass-fed, etc... for my home cooking. It costs more, but I'll happily pay a premium for the the better quality. Why should I expect it to cost less in a restaurant? When it comes to quality, you generally get what you pay for. The portions are at Spring generous, but not outrageously large; We almost always bring home leftovers, unless we share an entree. The bar at Sprig takes the restaurant to a whole new level. The cocktails are delicious, inventive, and strong. They put genuine fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs in their creations. No wine-aritas or store-bought sour mixes. The beer and wine lists are extensive and have something for every taste and budget. Sprig is a wonderful addition to the Emory/Oak Grove/Northlake area. It's such a delight to have a delicious meal right here in the neighborhood. read more

We ate here for my husband's birthday with his family. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent! We appreciated the variety of gluten free menu items. My husband and I got the specials, both gluten free. My halibut was perfectly prepared and amazingly delicious with a fennel relish and mustard sauce. My husband's medium rare filet was perfectly cooked and delicious. There is a good variety of craft beers, wines, bourbons and mixed drinks to complement our meals. This was our first visit, I had seen it on Atlanta Eats and wanted to love it but unfortunately it was only average. There were 3 highlights, the sangria, the mixed seafood appetizer in chili sauce and the bread pudding desert were all absolutely delicious. The main courses, the salmon and the short ribs were very disappointing and lacking in flavor. On the plus side all of the portions are generous. The garlic mash was bland, needed seasoning AND garlic! The short ribs were long and stringy. The root veg hash was not a hash it was just roasted root veggies which is fine but dont call it something its not. But the worst part was our entree came out while we were still eating our appetizer, this was despite the fact that we deliberately did not order our entree at the same time as our appetizer and had explained to the waitress the reason why. The entree came out within 5 minutes of us ordering it so I am not sure if we got someone elses identical order but it was very strange. If this place was closer I may give it another try or just go for the cocktails and an app but unfortunately its not worth the drive. read more
