A perfect hideaway in the Embassy Suite hotel Kapolei. Parking was plentiful and free. Our server Jill was friendly and provided the best customer service. Seems like they cut back on some of their menu. For starters we ordered the Kalbi fries. It was a large portion for the two of us. It could probably feed 4. The taste was fantastic! For entrees we both ordered the New York steak. It was 14 oz. and cooked to specification. The taste was juicy. The potatoes were good. The broccoli was okay. A little tough. Didn't care for the mushrooms. The price was very reasonable. Great comfort food. Would return again. read more

We found this place on Open Table and decided to give it a try after reading Yelp reviews. The food really is good. At first I checked our Sugarcane at Ka Makana but the prices were high. Sprig's is decently priced. Not cheap but not expensive. Definitely with the money. There is free parking, yay! We parked in the back of the hotel. The restaurant is sort of hidden but when you enter from the parking lot, continue as if you were going out the front door, before you get to the doors, look to your left, it's down that way. It was very clean, waitress was very nice and sat us on "the quiet side" haha. We tried the Farmers Salad which was good and fresh. Wish we got the Caesar though. The Kal Bi fries were really good. They give a lot so we probably wouldn't order it if it's just the two of us again. The Buffalo wings were good too...the wings were huge! We couldn't finish everything. Next time we want to try the Caesar and the blackened mahi rolled quesadilla. Definitely returning. read more

Updated. (2.5 stars). I came to the Embassy Suites [ES] for a conference & we all ordered lunch from SG to save time on the commute & out of convenience. I wanted to try the lunch menu as I had been here for dinner & enjoyed the Kulana burger. Some of the ingredients used at SG are fresh & SG is a decent place to eat at if ur staying at ES or u have a conference here... but I can't say I would go out of my way to come back for a meal. I ordered the following during my conference: Kalbi Fries. (2 stars). Day 1. This is completely my fault. I didn't read the menu & wasn't terribly hungry so I ordered the Kalbi fries thinking it would come with kalbi cubes & perhaps some melted cheese?? What I got was a pile of house made fries with strips of Kalbi, pico de gallo, extra raw onions, & a "1000 Island inspired sauce". Aside from the fries & the kalbi, I would never eat the other items on a normal day & I sure wasn't about to eat them during this meal!! I ended up giving my lunch to my co-worker who raved about it. I'm just happy it didn't go to waste. For the record the Kalbi had a nice albeit sweet seasoning & was tender. The fries tasted old. The few fries that I ate were either completely limp or were crispy on the outside & virtually dissolved on the inside. Pastrami Banh Mi. (3 stars). Day 2. Groundhog Day. Perhaps I was in a rush or just starving but all I saw was Pastrami Banh Mi & I wrote it down on the ordering list. This sandwich, much like the Kalbi fries, comes with the "1000 Island inspired sauce". I tried it & it had relish & mayo... Me no likey either of those ingredients so I ended up asking for the same order without the sauce. I offered to pay for the first sandwich as it was completely my fault but our gracious server refused to allow me to pay for it & said that my satisfaction with my meal was paramount. When I got the new NO SAUCE Banh Mi, I have to say the bread was toasted nicely & the vegetables (cucumber, jalapeño, julienne carrots, & julienne radish) were lightly marinated in a rice wine vinegar mixture which was tasty. The vegetables were all fresh & crunchy!! The pastrami, while grilled & warm, was cut deli thin & cooked a little too long on the flat top for my liking. The pastrami had a mild peppercorn flavor but the texture was similar to beef chips. The meat almost crumbled upon biting into it. To be fair, I do NOT enjoy beef chips so maybe that's why I didn't care for this preparation. Fries do NOT come with this meal. They must be ordered separately at an up-charge of $2.50. Club Sandwich. (2.5 stars). Day 3. Thank goodness there was NO SAUCE in this sandwich. After trying the Banh Mi sandwich the day before, I thought the vegetables in this sandwich would be just as fresh. I was wrong. My avocado was brown & mushy. My lettuce was brown & shredded vice "leafy". My bread was toasted a little too long thus leaving a "burnt" taste in my mouth as well as being tough to chew. Sriracha was my only way of getting any moisture into this sandwich so it wouldn't get stuck in my throat!? The turkey was sliced thicker than I'm used to & was dry. House made fries comes with this dish at NO additional charge. I was definitely disappointed with this meal. --- The staff at SG was incredibly accommodating to our 20+ party & I have nothing but rave reviews as far as their customer service is concerned. As far as the organization of the kitchen & the ordering process... that's a different story. We each had to repeat our name & order to 3 different people because apparently they don't talk to each other?? When our orders came out it was a crap shoot as to whether the servers could remember what we ordered. When we got our bill, some of us were charged the incorrect item as most of us used our debit/credit cards. I brought up the fact that I was charged for a cheaper meal but was assured it was OK since the cashier made the mistake. While that was nice, I can't imagine this being a practice to continue in the future... If ever I return for a conference/meeting at the ES, I'm sure we will eat at SG. But I can't say I would be back outside of work reasons. read more

Decided to take a chance and see if they offered a Mothers Day menu and wham they did for $39.99! Called in a week ahead, staff explained what they had on their pre fix and I was sold. Staff who helped me on the phone were very pleasant and helpful as well. Making our way into the restaurant, we were greeted by every single employee of the hotel, something so refreshing nowadays. The restaurant staff were no different, everyone seemed highly qualified, experienced and genuinely nice people! Food was extremely delicious! The 1st course, 5 item appetizer blew our mind because of the amount of food you get. Entrees chosen between me and my wife were the Loco Moco and Ribs for myself. Each dish came out hot and seasoned just right! Their dessert of chocolate mousse was just the thing we needed to finish off our lunch. The mousse had the right texture, not too soft, airy nor was it too firm! This restaurant is really a surprising gem to have and I wouldn't be surprised it'll be a packed house in no time. My grandma lives across the street from the sprigs grill so it was convenient to take her there for her birthday dinner. We were staying at the embassy suites and would eat the buffet breakfast at sprigs grille every morning. The buffet was decent. Restaurant is diner style seating and ambiance so wasn't expecting the food to be all that great. We ordered 3 dishes and shared family style. Spinach salad with mahimahi, basil pasta and kalua pig sliders. We were all pretty impressed with the size of the dishes. We loved every bit of it except for the fries. They were short handed but made it work. Bartender, waitress and hostess all worked well together and kept the flow going smoothly. They did it all with genuine smiles on their faces. Great place for family dinners, too. The music was a bit loud for our liking. Overall, we all agreed that we'd eat there again. read more

I was not aware that there was a new hotel in the Kapolei area, I was even less aware that I would find such an excellent new restaurant to dine at. I want to run down all of the pro's and con's that I experience when eating at Sprig's Grille. Pro's- Food, Atmosphere, Staff Food- the food was phenomenal, my fiancé and myself and my parents all ordered different items that we could share, so we could experience as many items from the menu as possible. The menu is short and sweet and definitely doesn't have anything that is bad. The steak that I ordered did have a hefty price tag, but definitely get your money's worth. Not frozen, very fresh and cooked to perfection. The potatoes and broccolini were a perfect pairing. My fiancé and my mom both ordered the Fresh catch, which was Mahi-Mahi. My fiancé got the dynamite and my mom got the cilantro pesto. Both were phenomenal. And my dad ordered the ribs which were just perfect, fell off the bone and was seasoned perfectly. We are also big dessert people and the desserts were delicious and reasonably sized. Very unique and tasty. Atmosphere: the lighting and tables were very nice, definitely a high end restaurant that prides itself on setting the atmosphere for the food that is prepared. Service: our waitress was very nice and gave a lot of suggestions which helped us because it was our first time. She refilled our drinks every 10 minutes and made sure we were completely satisfied with our food. Con's: the only real con I have is the location, if I would have known about this restaurant sooner I definitely would have visited sooner. I've driven past the sign advertising the restaurant at the new Embassy Suites for a while now, and decided to finally stop in and try it today... and I was very glad that I did. The menu is small, but it is better to make a few things very well than to make a lot of things mediocre, so I'm okay with that. I settled on the Kalua Pig Dip and the waiter, Talane, got me a small side salad even though there was none on the menu. The sandwich was a little bit rich for me, but the flavor and the aroma were both amazing! The restaurant is nice and comfortable and has a lot of seating, which would make for a great business lunch spot as you can probably walk in and get a table without much of a wait even if it is a busy day. I would definitely return again for lunch and am looking forward to trying dinner here when the opportunity arises. If you are looking for something new and interesting in the Kapolei area, give this place a try! read more

This beautiful new restaurant in the brand new Embassy Suites Hotel in Kapolei gets top marks from me. Food and service were spectacular. We enjoyed ourselves so much and were so comfortable, we lingered for about 2 & 1/2 hours for lunch last week. Everything was ono: Natural Cut Kalbi Steak Fries - this appetizer is a huge bowl of awesomeness and the Rooster fry sauce is perfect, only "just right" mildly spicy! The "Fish Bowl"- this mahi-mahi entree with stir fried veggies and kale and organic brown rice is very good! Kulana Ranch Burger - grass-fed beef on toasted brioche bread hit the spot! For dessert, the Pineapple Upside Down Cake was good but a little too sweet for my taste. I've had better Bread Pudding but Sprigs Grille's version goes nicely with coffee. Their bottomless hot coffee is also very good. The best part of our first visit to Sprigs Grille was our waiter, Marty! His exuberance, aloha and of course, efficiency, made our Sprigs Grille lunch experience more fun -- A+. Service really makes the difference. read more

The restaurant is located in the Embussy Suites hotel in Kapolei. It is new and very clean. We went for lunch and there was only two other parties in the place however it took 30 mins for three appetizers to come out. The servers started bring out the entrees before the appetizers. I ordered the kulua pig French dip. The au jus was extremely salty and the sandwich had a crumbled cheese on it. While it tastes really good, every time I dipped the sandwich the cheese fell out into the au jus. The cheese needs to be changed. Also, they forgot to put the caramelized onions on the sandwich as well. read more

3rd time dining here since it opened. 1st two times were fabulous (5-stars) but tonight, not so much so I'll average our 3x visits as an overall 4. Below are my gripes from our experience tonight: 1. We were seated with no wait on Sun/6 PM. Our waitress was good but she appeared to be the only server for what became a busy place. We had long waits for service (not her fault)... management, please hire some more server help! 2. Apparently we were there at their "Happy Hour" time. We ordered onion rings which are on that menu but charged regular price. Come to find out, the "Happy Hour" food menu is only for hotel guests. The restaurant already provides free drinks/snacks for guests (which is understandable) but we thought this menu only being for the guests was a lame gesture for locals. read more

The food was absolutely on par with some of the best tasting restaurants on Oahu. This was somewhat of a surprise given its location, specifically I side an Embassy Suites. The local catch was cooked perfectly and the purple sweet potatoes were awesome. I think that the hostess really just kills this place. The same lady was working each night we stayed and she was just terrible at customer service and embarrassingly rude. I felt bad for the hotel that they hired her. We will most certainly never come back because of her, and we live very close by. read more

Football season is back on they don't open early for Sunday football, but make exceptions for Saturday morning Alabama games?? The bar side doesn't have top shelf drinks and usually runs out of everything. The bartenders are great well the ones that are still there like Ms. Ladda best bartender ever!! I was told you were open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, but that's only when they want. Drinks sky rocketed from when they first open. read more

The atmosphere is very nice and homey which is rare to find as a kama'ina coming to a restaurant in a hotel. We absolutely loved our server Pukana, she was lovely and enthusiastic in everything she said and did. The food was AMAZING the Kalbi fries and Edamame was the highlight of everything we ate but it was all fantastic! The staff was very attentive to us, especially Tiara who was always checking in on us. We decided to celebrate a birthday here due to its convenient location on the west side. We were very pleased with the staff-from the hostess who seated us to our awesome and efficient server. Our drinks were always topped off. We ordered the recommended kalbi fries and calamari for appetizers which were both flavorful. A great new place for food in Kapolei! We went on a Saturday night and I will admit it was a little dead, but I assume it's because not a lot of people realize it's there yet. The staff was sweet and attentive and was constantly checking up on us. For appetizers we had their fried mozerella and wings which were delicious! For our entree(s) I had the Kalua Pig enchiladas and my boyfriend has their steak. Both were delicious! Both of their bars were loaded with people. It seems like the hip new place to be! Tucked away in Kapolei, in one of the two hotels in this area is this cute little restaurant. Parking is convenient yeah it was fear is absolutely beautiful and we must have come at an off time because the place was empty. We intended on going to a different restaurant on the same campus, but that place is closed so we were directed to this place and it was fine. The service was friendly it was extremely clean. I'm only crediting this review 2 stars because our waitress was working so hard. She was the only one on the floor, on Valentine's Day. The restaurant was not crazy busy yet it took 30 minutes to put our drink order in. The coke was flat, no carbonation at all. We put our food order in at the same time as our drinks and it took over an hour for the entrees. We ordered appetizers (calamari and Cesar salad) which were good but still took a long time. We ordered the Mahi Mahi and New York steak. The steak came out first 20 minutes before the Mahi Mahi. The steak was medium rare on one side and totally raw on the other. I showed the waitress and she said that she would check on it but didn't come back to do so. The Mahi Mahi was over cooked and dry. Sadly, we will not be coming back here. read more

We dropped in for dinner an hour before closing. Wanted a nice, simple dinner on a Saturday night a few weeks back for our anniversary. We had just missed the live entertainment but it's okay as the place emptied out. There were only 4 other families. Service was quick and food was fast and good! Our waitress was super nice. A friend of ours planned a surprise birthday dinner for my husband here. Didn't even know this place existed until about 2 days ago! Sprig's Grille is located on the lobby floor of the Embassy Suites hotel in Kapolei. Yes, KAPOLEI. Punch it into your GPS and it'll take you right there. There's a lot of parking behind the hotel, if you can't find any in the front. There'a also ample street parking as well. Free parking, I must add. Our party of 8 had reservations at 615pm and they were ready for us. Not very busy on a Tuesday night. I'd say even if you didn't have reservations and wanted to check this place out, waltz right on in (for now). I'm sure once people realize that it's there, you'll eventually have to make reservations. (Side note: it's good practice to make reservations whenever you can, anyway). As for the food. Our party ordered: Kaibi Steak Quesadillas, Sesame-Ginger Chicken Wings, Pan Fried Fresh Mozzarella, Mahiai UpCountry Farmer's Salad, Onion Rings, Kulana Ranch Burger, and the Kulana Ranch Meatballs and Linguine. I think the Quesadillas were a hit. I was told that it was very tasty. The onion rings were massive. Like, THICK. So, get it only if you REALLY like onions. I thought they were decent. I personally ordered the Farmer's Salad. It was quite tart. Maybe a little bit too easy on the dressing. I didn't care for it much. I also ordered the chicken wings which weren't that bad. Of the three dishes I ordered, I'd have to say the wings were the best. It's on the sweet side. Everyone else was satisfied with their meal. Same reaction: good, not great. But definitely worth a try. It might appeal to you, so definitely don't cross them off your "to-try" list. If I'm ever in the area, I'll probably come back for lunch or try their fish dishes or even the kalua pig enchiladas. That looks good too. This is a nice place to check out if you're ever in Kapolei. Or just happen to be staying in the Embassy Suites. I don't know if I'd ever go out of my way to come back here. But, our waitress was really funny, really attentive, and all around amazing. Great staff. Food came out cooked just right, but unfortunately it didn't quite suit me. Which is why I still would recommend that you check this place out. Also, their creme brûlée is AMAZING. Ate lunch here the other day. Don't let the lack of a crowd discourage you. The 'Butternut Squash something something' soup was wonderful. It reminded me of a certain ravioli one could eat at that "tree" restaurant in Ko Olina. However, I think there was an element missing from the dish. The first couple of bites were great, but it got boring towards the end. Not sure if it needed more drops of that thai spice oil sauce, some crème fraiche, or butter, don't let my review discourage you. It was a great soup! Tried the 'Club Sandwich' for my entrée. No complaints...healthy amounts of turkey and ham, great bread, and BACON!!!, etc. Who says no to bacon? Don't answer this question vegetarians or vegans. Now, don't let the prices discourage you, especially with the sandwich. If you have a small appetite, you basically get two lunches (sandwiches) in one. On a side note, you only get the sandwich. Fries are optional and an additional charge. The crème brûlée looked great as well, but I didn't try it out because I was full (however, my inner fat kid was screaming and begging me to try it). Finally, the waitress, K****, was very friendly. Great to see this hotel and restaurant hire friendly local people from the leeward side of O'ahu. Definitely have to check out the dinner menu in the future. I would have given 4.5 stars if this was possible because this restaurant is clean, has friendly staff, and sources locally.
