The food is amazing as well as the service, it's normally packed but the most we've waited is about 20 minutes.

This is my favorite go-to places for lunch in Raleigh. I love their daily lunch specials and their breakfast is good too. I especially love their chicken & dumplings which they serve on Thursdays. I come so often the servers already know what I want. The ladies there work their butts off and are always so pleasant. The prices are very reasonable and if there is a wait it does not take long to get seated. read more

Polarizing location in a strip mall next to a barbershop-- locations like these are normally either elite or trash. This place though, was the former. Elite breakfast spot. Pancakes were flavorful with a nice texture. French toast was rich in taste. The waffle was solid, a bit too crispy, but tasted good. The hash browns didn't have great presentation but were sufficient. The chicken tenders were the star of the show, complimented by a barbecue sauce with the right blend of tang and smokiness. If you want to experience a place that is a mix of American and Hispanic culture, this is your place. This is a fascinating piece of integrated Americana cuisine. From the outside it looks like your typical American breakfast diner you'd more likely find in rural eastern NC. When you get inside you notice the staff is mostly if not entirely Hispanic with a few Hispanic meals (I think Caribbean) on the menu (more for lunch than breakfast). I always get the same traditional breakfast so I can't judge other parts of the menu, but their breakfast is fine. I judge a diner on its breakfast potatoes harshly if they come as more like tater tots or french fries. But Spring Cafe has fresh potatoes so they pass that test. It is a fairly small restaurant so you have to be there early if waiting is one of your pet peeves. The prices are reasonable and the staff is attentive. A restaurant should offer an experience above and beyond the food itself and Spring Cafe passes that test also. Also, if you want to experience something Hispanic above and beyond the typical Mexican restaurant, this also delivers while keeping the choices you want in the typical American diner. I just left the res on 11/2/25 and the service was absolutely horrible. we had to wait 15 minutes , which we had no problem waiting, and once we got to the table we were not greeted for atleast 10 minute and frankly at all. There was one server who kept looking at us and made eye contact several times and we still weren't greeted. no drink,no menu, no water. NOTHING. The problem we had was a couple who walked in 5 minutes after us got their drinks, menu, and what looked like took an order way before us. Only thing u can say that was good about this place is the service. I ordered the Corned beef hash and I was expecting it to better. But I absolutely could not stomach it. It looked like vomit and I did not like the taste. I took it home and fed it to my dog. I also ordered the Sausage gravy and it was also a disappointment...not flavorful at all. Store bought gravy tastes better than theirs. My daughter however did enjoy her pancakes. I took a bite and can confirm the Pancakes are good. My husband ordered an omelet. This is a cute and quaint diner in a business park off Spring Forest and Capital Blvd. The prices are fair and the portions are huge. I ordered the corn beef hash (fried hard) and hash browns ( with grilled onions and tomatoes) which tasted just like Waffle House:) The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is courteous and friendly! Prices were great, food was good however, service was extremely slow ( was there mid day on a Saturday and I understand the regular person who works hostess/payment location was not there). They took a minimum of 45 minutes from order to delivery of food for ALL tables and they prioritized "take out" orders before people eating in. There must have been 50 take out boxes taken to the front ( for people ordering and waiting at the front- not orders made before we got there). These orders were take and fulfilled before and during the time while any food was delivered to us or others who came in around the same time. We had previously eaten here a couple months ago and thought to try again- it was a painful experience and we will NOT return on a weekend or if they are busy. read more

We come here at least once a month, they are busy right before church and after. I had the corn beef hash again, but it wasn't fried as hard this time and I will ask for it to be fried harder next time. My friend loves their ham and always gets it. They also have a few vegetarian options and southern classics like liver & onions. I have been driving by this place for YEARS but finally went in for breakfast today. Seated quickly. Ordered the vegetarian omelet with grits and biscuit. Omelet was stuffed with veggies, had two slices of cheese melted on top and a queso like cheese in the middle. Grits were perfect consistency. Drinks are included with the breakfast combos! This place is quite a classic. I'm conflicted about reviewing it because it's always busy, especially for breakfast. Today we were there a little after 9:00 AM on Sunday and there was 1 table available. When we left an hour later there were people waiting. Spring Cafe has traditional food like chopped beef and biscuits and gravy. We have been going for several years and was locally and family owned. I appreciate that. I see the same waitresses so assuming it still is. The place looks like an old fashioned diner with a checkered floor. About a year ago they put in new lacquered tables. I think the place looks great. Most of the breakfast entrees include coffee. Steak and eggs was only $10.95 and I got 2 pieces of steak, potatoes, scrambled eggs and fruit because I didn't get toast (gluten free). My husband got a sausage omelet and asked for his hash browns well done. They were great. read more

I'm lighter complexion and she said I was a fake Mexican and continued to go on about how certain things make me non Latino AND THEYRE HISPANIC OWNERS. I won't go back here. Ive eaten here about three times, and the food is consistently good. Everything feels homemade and made with love. I love the different styles of food as well as everything is made the way it should be. Great prices! Only down side is you may have to wait awhile to be seated, it's a small place. This is a local breakfast and sandwiches eatery. Saturday morning at 8:30 the place was almost full. Seemed to be a lot of regulars. The staff was neatly dressed, polite, and efficient. My three egg omelet with ham was a plateful and pretty good flavor. Seems they used the processed cheese product on top (like I do on sandwiches at home). Think I would have appreciated real cheese melted inside the omelette. My guest had the sausage biscuits and gravy plate. Was more than she could eat. I've had both breakfast and lunch orders and both were good. The service is always great. They are quick to take your order, no matter how busy they are. They are quick to get refills. Spring cafe is located not far from our office so once in awhile we either go to eat here or order from here. It's basic and that about covers it. Nothing spectacular. On a recent visit there were 4 of us at lunch and we received only 2 menus. I guess the other 2 were invisible. There is absolutely no decor whatsoever and the place is very small and not a place to occupy a table for very long as there are regulars that eat there. You pay at the counter and an elderly lady has to ring it up and the line can get very long at times so my suggestion is to put someone who doesn't get frazzled as easily at the counter for busy times. read more

Not my favorite place for a nice meal. They are reasonably priced with a great atmosphere. It appears clean. The staff is friendly and no wait time during my visits. Had three meals at the Spring Cafe within a 5 year span. Had the breakfast omelette and it was not very appetizing and another time had the scrambled eggs and corn beef hash and this meal was just ok. The barbecue chicken dinner special was the worst with the exception of the mashed potatoes. The barbecue sauce was not good and chicken was over cooked to dry and tasted awful. I just dove into a breakfast from Spring Cafe. I should have taken pics first, but I simply demolished it. I ordered the steak n' eggs with a side of both hash browns and home fries. The portions are enormous, and the food is delicious. I absolutely inhaled as much as I could, but I still have plenty of leftovers for lunch and dinner. This is definitely a go-to for down-home comfort breakfasts. I look forward to trying more of their delicious items! It has four very good omelets served with a choice of sides, including spiced apples, grits, hash browns, and one other choice I forgot...the toast is also good and coffee or tea are included. It was under $11. I had the western omelet and it featured good diced ham, nothing too salty or fatty. There is American cheese singles melted on top rather than cheddar. The food is not going to win any James Beard awards, but there's nothing wrong with it. They open at 6. Before 7 a.m. your breakfast choices are limited to Panera, IHOP or Denny's. (Or there is a place in Wake Forest open at 4:00) After 7, I can suggest about five other places within 10 minutes of here. Since then, they have gone under new management so I thought I would give them a second try.
