The bbq is top of bell curve good. It's definitely not bad but nothing really sets it apart from average good bbq. The customer service is good. First off We Come here all the time and always spend over $60+ For over 10 years! This evening we orders 2(2 meat plates with Chopped beef) and a child's chop beef plate. Didn't realize you have to ask for buns and when I did, I was charged almost $10 (for buns!!) When I inquired that I just spent a decent amount, why wouldn't it be complimentary? Everyone knows the most important aspect of a BBQ place is the meat. And the meat delivers! Brisket and ribs all done very well for a chain! HOWEVER.... The sides, dessert and general atmosphere fall short. Everything tastes canned or out of a box/bin. If I wanted store bought potato salad, I would buy it at the store. Not paying $15/plate. The pies tasted like they had frostbite maybe? And then thawed and served? My kids got jello and it tasted like pickles (my husband was convinced they used pickle juice IN the jello. Great tasting Barbeque. I got the 3 meat combo so I could try different things. My favorite meat was the ribs and brisket. I tried the traditional smoke sausage and that was good but my least favorite. For my sides I selected coleslaw, which was amazing, and mac & cheese. The Mac and cheese was ok as well. This place has some amazing rolls!! Omg, they literally have someone walking around with fresh basket of rolls asking if you would like some. Went there Sunday at 3pm. The place was so dirty!!! Tables and chairs literally feel sticky from how dirty they are. Restroom doors need a good cleaning!! And floors looked like if they hadn't been mopped in a long long time. Meanwhile the two girls in the bread section were laughing and cracking jokes. This is totally the managers fault. Tonight's dinner wasn't too bad but it has been better. The mac and cheese side wasn't as cheesy as normal. It's been that way the last few times I've gone there. That a what I get for my side everytime and it not being as good as it can be, I'm contemplating on changing the place I go to for bar-b-q. The brisket was spicier than normal. Didn't have as much of a smoky flavor as it has always had. The sauce had good flavor, but my sauce cup was only a quarter way full. Was not happy about that at all. Only thing that tasted the best was the rolls. Use to go to Railhead and tried Spring Creek and switched because they had a better flavor. I was in town for the holidays visiting family and always try to go to Spring Creek while in town since they do not have them in Austin where I live. I stopped by for lunch during this visit, and was very pleased with the food and service, and highly recommend Spring Creek. I ordered a few strips of brisket and some sliced sausage, which I ordered by weight. You can order standard meat plates with sides, but I prefer to order meat by weight and then make my own sandwiches with the delicious complimentary freshly baked bread that they bring to your table literally fresh straight out of the oven. The bread is very, very good and by itself makes Spring Creek worth visiting. The meat was also cooked very well. They use hickory wood to smoke the meat in their smoker that you can see when you enter the serving line. I also tried a pork rib - I had never had their ribs before, so the manager, Todd, offered me one to try (complimentary). It was very delicious - fall off the bone type of ribs that everybody loves. Todd was very nice, and it was obvious that he works very hard and long hours, and cares about his customers. In fact, all of the wait staff was working hard and cared about pleasing their guests, from the guys at the front tending to the meat in the smoker, to the guy cutting the meat, to the cashier, to the lady working the bread oven and offering bread from her wicker basket. Their sauce is also very good, with a hickory sweet taste. You can also buy bottles of their sauce to take home. In addition to the meat entrees and numerous sides, they offer several varieties of deserts including cobbler, Blue Bell ice cream, banana pudding, and several types of pies. They also offer kids meals. They have ample dining room area, and I highly recommend it for families due to the wide variety of dining options and very friendly staff and nice dining area. Tip: on Sundays from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, they offer free Blue Bell ice cream. In summary, I really like Spring Creek and highly recommend it. I had a very nice experience during this visit, as I typically do when I am able to come to Spring Creek. I just wished they would expand to Austin. read more

We got a pound of brisket, pulled pork, and sides . I was very unimpressed with this location. This restaurant was very dirty . The floors were sticky in some places and slippery in others . The rolls were hot "" Yay. but not even cooked all the way . The BBQ was open and on the counter before I got to the line , which nobody was in front of us ( how long was it sitting on the counter) first red flag ... we waited until they were done taking to get the old tasting Mac and cheese . No ice in the glasses which they only had two ready for the 3 of us. Still only to find out both tea containers were empty. Let's take in consideration they were not fully staffed like most places are struggling with right now . I counted at least 3 people talking to each other the entire time for about an hour while each ate . I had looked forward to eating here for some time and when the restaurant next door was 30 minute wait . I got my chance !! As a self proclaimed professional bbq judge which I can proclaim being bred, born and raised in Texas and I have had tons of bbq in my lifetime, I would have to say that this isn't the best bbq in Texas but it isn't the worst either. It's somewhere in between. I would say that it's pretty good bbq. Now I've only had the brisket and the sausage but no other meats and I've tried various sides. I've eaten at this location about six times in the last year. The place is always clean, the staff has always been friendly and they do come around often asking if everything is alright and they also offer unlimited fresh hot rolls which are very good. Now their sauce is alright at best. It has very little flavor and it's watery. They offer beer, soda, tea and water. They also have few condiments as well. Once you're done eating, just leave the plates and they'll clean up after you. I believe they're worthy of a try if you're passing through or if you happen to live near-by. read more

I didn't know what to expect once I came here. I have been to a lot of bbq restaurant s and like any other place some are hit and miss. I will say that this place caught our heart and appetite. My wife is very picky about her ribs and the baby back ribs here are fall off the bone goodness. My brisket was slightly dry but it was only a small portion after that it was good. I love this place! The first time we went we didn't know what to expect. It's worth every penny because you are guaranteed to be full by the time you leave. They have unlimited sides and rolls... yummy. They will continuously bring hot fresh rolls to your table and you can get a new plate and fill it with plenty of sides. The food was not a disappointment at all! However, service was not all that great. The man at the meat station misunderstood me. I had asked for ribs and pulled pork. He proceeded to give me three ribs, pulled pork, and sliced up another meat and put it on my plate. So here is what I've learned about bbq. Smoked meat cannot be perfect all day long. If it was cooked to order you would be waiting all day. The best way to ensure a good meal is go when dinner is usually served. The other thing I learned here is all the meat is on display for you to choose from. If you choose the jerky that used to be brisket, that's your own damn fault. Now, we didn't see jerky but I did see a complaint about it. I chose wisely and enjoyed every bit of it. This my granddads favorite place to eat. Everything is delicious so it's difficult to decide but I would recommend the beef. The beef dinner was $9.95 and the sides are buffet style so you can go back for all the beans and macaroni n cheese that you want! The best part is their fresh baked bread! You get one when you go through the line but then the servers go around with a basket of hot, fresh out of the oven, baked bread. I would suggest to bring your own honey. As a Philadelphia Eagles fan, I was nervous to wear my Eagles hat into a Texas restaurant. However, was I ever glad I did. We had the chance the meet the owner and he is truly one of the nicest humans you will ever meet. He greeted us, talked to us the whole time we were there, and looked after our table.
