The xray technician was unprofessional, constantly hitting my feet with the wires and speaking loudly in Spanish to a coworker clear across the building. The male dr. Is the best dentist ive ever had. Very gentle, honest and you can tell he cared etc. He was the only reason i went there and only reason for the star. The female dr (korean lady?) Is the exact opposite and probably the worst dentist or any practictioner ive ever met. This lady was unprofessional as she was very rough and would talk crap about your teeth.She then tried to change my dental plan that i originally had with the male dr probably to squeeze more money. Got x-rays done. Here was unable to do a cleaning went to my original doctor for a cleaning and wanted to get my x-rays sent. When I called. They said it cost $25 just to send over the x-rays even though my insurance already paid for the x-rays. I've gotten my teeth, cleaned. Many times in the past, and I've never had to pay extra just to send over a piece of information. No only that the doctor and staff are very incompetent and I wouldn't recommend family or friends coming here. read more

First time here and was very impressed. The front staff lady is very nice and prompt plus I got an appointment within a couple of days so that's a plus. The dentist that saw my daughter was very nice and I could tell my daughter was very comfortable with her. Went in for a routine check up and they were super sweet and nice. They were very patience while working on my mouth as Im very anxious for dental work. When getting my X-rays done they were talking me through it. Sam was also sweet and was very kind when she went in to clean my teeth. As I look at these reviews it further upsets me that we had such a TERRIBLE experience. Upon a follow-up visit, I was mis-quoted by the front desk staff (who loudly spoke of previous patients and appeared unprofessional as I waited to be called to the back) but the Dr had to come in and correct them on the procedure and pricing. Explaining it's one or the other, not both! While this was alarming, we considered this a bad day or possibly due to a new employee so I made my next appointment in hopes things would be better. A few days before the next appointment, I receive a text indicating I NEED to make an appointment. I call the office to confirm appt was made and told the text messages are sent at random regardless if appointment is made or not. While I had them on the line I wanted to discuss financial obligations at this next appointment. Again, I'm being misquoted, exactly like the initial appointment when the Doctor had to correct them. I expressed my concerns, only to then receive extremely unpleasant unprofessional and flat out rude customer service. I was talked over and the level of communication skills were utterly disappointing. I requested to speak with a Manager. Immediately told there wasn't one. I receive a call the next day, asking about my DAUGHTERS appointment. I do NOT have a DAUGHTER. I then get a follow up call from the so called Manager. And as I spoke with her, I understood why her front desk staff behaves the way they do. The unfortunate part of all this...I actually LIKED THE DOCTOR. ITS THE FRONT DESK STAFF THAT PUT A HORRIBLE TASTE IN MY MOUTH. Customer Service just isn't the same anymore. Synopsis: Find a dentist who is willing to listen to you, patiently answer your questions, and practice in the modern age. I'm very disappointed that this happened with my lifelong dentist. I will find a dentist with a more modern view. ***If you want to skip the background story, start at paragraph three*** I'm a 22 year old medical professional, and I've been coming to this dentist every 6 months for as long as I can remember. I used to have incredible amounts of respect for Dr. Dykes, and was sad when I found out that he retired something over a year ago when I had the final inspection of my routine cleaning done by a Dr. Imani, with whom I was also very happy with. Now, I have not had a cavity in a few years likely because of my improved dental hygiene habits. Unfortunately, I had missed my last cleaning because something came up, and I never remembered to reschedule it, until they called me and I had it scheduled for 2/2/18. I went in and to my surprise was told that I had one cavity on the side of a bottom left molar, and three small beginnings of decay on the right upper side that he wanted to fill. The hygienist also mentioned a small 'discoloration' in the molar next to the cavity that she thought was not a cavity. He inspected it and verbally confirmed that it was not a cavity, just a discoloration. Now, I was surprised that he wanted to fill the small ones because the reason that I had so much respect for him was because he was never a dentist that attempted to fill anything unnecessarily. I suppose this changed after he returned to work from retirement. So, I set up an appointment for the following Friday, 2/9/18. During the week I did more research on whether or not I wanted to fill in my three small beginnings of decay, where I found out more about what the 'beginning of decay' truly is, as well as holistic, diet based ways to re-mineralize small cavities. I decided that I was more comfortable going this route. What I also found out was that around 50% of some (old-fashioned and cheap) dental filler, or amalgams, is the heavy metal and neurotoxic element MERCURY. Finding this out startled me, and though there is no AMERICAN research that has concluded it's harmful effects on the body, the FDA has recently issued regulations changing dental Amalgam from Class I (low risk) to Class II (moderate risk). Other countries, that care about their population more than money, are banning the use of mercury in dental fillers. There ARE alternatives. I have been living quite a natural and healthy lifestyle, so naturally, I wanted an alternative. Here's what happened when I returned to the dentist: Once the assistant explained to me that he was only doing the larger cavity because he could only numb one side of my mouth, I agreed and explained to her that I did not want to have the others filled anyways so I could try holistic remedies for them. She explained the risks, and I accepted. I requested the ceramic filling for my back molar. The assistant went to talk to Dr. Dykes. He came in and administered the local anesthesia, and told me that for the back molars I did not have a choice, he would only do the silver filling. He also told me that the discoloration that was previously not a cavity, was a cavity. I feel that this was solely so he could bill my insurance since I did not want the others filled. I was hesitant, and he walked away to let the anesthesia take effect. I asked the assistant (who was wonderful) to let me see the ingredients in the compound, it was a mixture of close to 50% mercury, silver, copper, and tin. I told her I did not want that, and she told the doctor. He came in and said, "Fine, whatever. We'll do the composite." I asked to see the ingredients, and he replied with quite high volume in front of several clients, "Oh! I don't have time for requests like that!" And told the assistant to "appease" me until I was happy. She couldn't find the container with the ingredients on it, and tried to explain away the problem. I stood up and began to put my coat on explaining to the assistant my feelings that I was not comfortable having Dr. Dykes giving me the fillings, and thanking her for her patience. "You know what?" He said unnecessarily loudly as I saw him returning down the aisle while I put my jacket on before he saw me. He seemed startled by my willingness to leave the office after so many years coming here and continued, "Why don't you go find yourself a dentist who believes in all that pseudo-science bullshit?" To which I replied, "I think that's the best plan," and brushed past him as he stood in the aisle between me and the exit. The sweetheart working the front desk who has known me for years was so upset that I was going to change dentists, she just last week reminisced about when I was only just a child coming to the office. I Started my dental project in late October, and I have to say, I'm so proud of my new beautiful and improved smile! They really did a good job with me. All services are provided under the same roof including implant procedures, it's almost impossible to find in town. I am a demanding customer and I'm totally satisfied with the result so far. I came here for a routine check up and cleaning. I had an appointment at tooth-hurtie. They were very professional and explained the forms I had to fill out as a first time patient. There was a few things my insurance didn't cover and explained to me what would come out of pocket. I went through the check up, asked me several questions, and explained what I needed. I've been to other dentist before so I know the drill. She noticed I was drinking a mountain dew and explained that is the worst drink to drink for my teeth, 44 grams of sugar and the acidity is bad for your enamel. I guess it was affecting my back tooth because it was sensitive to cold drinks. I got some crown work done, it was quick and easy, I felt like a King. This is how I'm feeling right now. Very happy and have the biggest smile. At first I was anxious since I've only had one dentist I go to since I was a kid BUT then I was felt well welcomed at the front desk, filled out the paperwork and not long after I went inside. Bochra welcomed me with big smile, as well as Rahma that did the Xray and checked on me and made sure I was comfortable, she gave me options and explained each one with details and also recommended the best thing for me to do which was well appreciated. Then Dr. Cal Dykes came along and he was very friendly ans funny. He started working on me with the assistance of Rahma and I didn't feel a thing even though I had Root canal work (it was really bad). I didn't even realize when he was done. They gave me antibiotic and pain killer and the lady at the desk gave me a gift card for checking in which was pretty cool ending to my visit. Honestly the worst experience. Last time I had an appointment for an X-ray and a cleaning and they gave me one appointment time. I get there and do my X-ray then afterwards they told me my appointment for cleaning wasn't for another hour. So I had to sit there and wait. Then today I had an appointment. They called me saying the last hygienist's appointment cancelled and if I would want to come earlier. I'm on my way there when I hear the message and I call them back because they mentioned my appointment was at 4:15. It was already 4:15 and I was stuck in traffic. I called the office and I asked about the voicemail and I talked to a different girl from the voicemail and she said my appointment is 4:20. I told her ok I thought it was 4:30 but I'm on my way and I should be there around 4:30 and she said it was ok. It was 4:27 and I get a call from the same lady from the voicemail saying that my hygienist had been waiting for me for so long and she can't anymore so she has to go and my appointment is cancelled. I told her I was like 3 minutes away and she asked where I was. I was already on the street where the office was located, like I said 3 minutes away. Anyway it didn't matter because the hygienist had to wait basically 7 minutes for me by that time so that was too long that she had to leave at 4:27. It just sucks because I had just spoken to someone saying I was goin to be 5-10 minutes late because I thought my appointment was 4:30 and that there was traffic as well. Then the other lady gave me attitude saying there's never appointments at 4:30 only 4:15. But mine was 4:20. But yeah bottom line is there's no wiggle room even if you just spoke to them and they say it's ok. And the hygienist probably wanted to go home already because the appointment before me cancelled so yeah 7 minutes was such a long wait for my 4:20 appointment. Anyway I'm never coming back here. It's just the worst service and the other reviews are right, if you don't tell them not to do stuff not covered by insurance they'll do it and charge you later. My husband walked out last time because he just wanted a cleaning and they told him they needed to do gum measurements and he said he didn't want it unless it was covered by insurance and then they said that they can't do cleaning unless they do that so he just said he wants nothing done then because that was never required before and he had been a patient there for years.
