    Got a sushi platter

Really great value for money here. The patio is so beautiful. Service was great. Drinks were so fruity

I went for the lunch buffet on a weekend, the place was busy so had to wait for a window seat. For the price it's a nice buffet with a good variety of options. The jumbo shrimp and sushi rolls were good but the stand out item was the speciality honey roll. The spicy salmon roll is also really good. Considering the location, ambiance, and price I'm not sure if you can find better.

Nice views, extensive menu with a ton of options to pick from the AYCE menu. I went here with my brother and he did enjoy his time here. Service was fast, as the orders came pretty quickly after we places them in. Definitely a great place to satisfy your sushi cravings (Y). The fish slices on the nigiri pieces were not thin so that was a plus.

Spring Sushi Definitely IMO not one of the best AYCE Japanese sushi restaurant in Toronto. The size of the sashimi was decent and okay. However, the quality of the sashimi was not up to par. The white albacore tuna and salmon tasted awful, watery, and not fresh. Charging almost forty dollars is way too much for such low-quality sashimi! And like most AYCE sushi restaurants in Toronto, ordering is done via IPad. But you are only allowed to order 25 items per order which sucks. Some of our sashimi orders are either missing 1 to 2 pcs in both rounds of our order which is a turn off for us. The cooked stuff wasn't as good as well. The Salt & Pepper Calamari and Shrimp Tempura were average at best. The service and staff were quick and attentive which is the only thing good here. They also give you ten percent discount if you pay cash.

Spring sushi If you ever find your self at Dundas square and want some sushi with a nice outdoor patio overlooking the bright lights, street dancing folks below and hustling city, this is the place for you. Located next to the movie theather, Once inside you have to climb a flight of stairs. The ceilings and walls are covered in cultural art work. The patio outside was large. Each table is equipped with a tablet which lets you choose your options available for a la carte or buffet. We tried several different combinations of sushi which were tasty. The only disappointment was calamari, either the batter was too thick or the seasoning was off. The shrimp tempura was well done. Overall, it was a good experience, the staff was friendly & service was quick.

all the food was great but the service was not good. I was given the wrong roll and notified a server. they took it and didn't not bring the correct one. I hit the button to call a sever over and no one came. I tried to wave down a server and no one came. then when someone finally showed up to clear my table I said I was ready to pay and just left sitting there for 10 minutes

Avocado Hosomaki / Kappa Hosomaki / Tekka Hosomaki / Kani Hosomaki / Miso Soup

I've had sushi here a few times and it's quick and consistent. It's certainly not the highest quality sushi I've had, but for a combo meal under $20, the food is a good value for what you pay. Most of the hosomaki was tasty, however they got a couple of my items incorrect. The serving sizes were generous and they gave me more than enough condiments to get through the meal. I tried some of the tuna hosomaki but I wasn't a fan of the taste or texture. The miso soup was decent but could've used some more seaweed inside. Overall, I'd recommend going here for an all-you-can-eat or if you're in a rush and want something quick that will fill you up.

    torched salmon
    Alexus T.

not completely horrible but I was disappointed with my sushi here. I ordered a Ruby bento box and a side of torched salmon sushi (2 pcs). the food was very mediocre, but I did enjoy the torched salmon nigiris with spicy mayo & jalapeño. the tempura was oily, the rice was dry & the salmon rolls were big and not very fresh. I've been here before and had better experiences, so maybe it's a hit or miss. their all you can eat selection is pretty good, but not worth it if I don't like the food I'm eating!

Food is great! We ordered a lot coz we wanted to taste everything. But i love almost everything they serve. Service is fast, nothing much I can say. A delightful ambiance. Will come back soon with my friends

Not sure what's happening here with the flakes

Came around 2:45. Their lunch ends at 3:30 but as long as you get in before the cut off you can do the lunch option. Price is still 21.95 for weekend lunch which is the average price for Japanese ayce downtown for lunch, which comes with a lot less options than the dinner menu but still enough for a decent meal. Ordered a number of sushi pieces and they're quite generous with the fish portions. The salmon rose comes with two pieces of salmon so if you're looking for that sashimi experience for lunch, this might be it! Food comes out pretty quick and you get everything you ordered exactly as it's displayed on the tablet. Though, the first time you put in an order the waitress went and changed a number of orders down to 1 unit for most of the grilled options. Maybe they wanted you to make sure how large each unit is considered before asking for half a dozen, though in my case I already intended on getting a huge plate of sirloin steak. I feel like they might have had chicken wings before since my last review mentioned "fried chicken" but I didn't see it this time...

Enjoyed my food here but it is better to order AYCE to make the best value for your money.

The restaurant has a lot of smaller tables, making it feel cozy, and the service was super friendly. I ordered the dry boat noodles with egg noodles and they were so good. The side of broth was absolutely amazing and honestly one of the best parts of the meal. Rich, flavorful, and so comforting. I kept alternating between bites of noodles and sips of broth. There was chili oil on the table, and I definitely got a little carried away. It was seriously spicy, but somehow I couldn't stop eating. My mouth was on fire, but every bite made me want another. Even after leaving, I kept thinking about those noodles. I also liked that there are several noodle options to choose from depending on what texture you're craving. Between the delicious food, great broth, and kind service, this is definitely a spot I'd come back to again.

The tapioca dumplings are unlike anything I've tasted before. They serve it with a side of lettuce, mint and peanuts. I liked the dumplings better without the sides they served! The lettuce and other add ons dim the flavors of the dumplings. So I prefer just eating the dumplings straight on. The Messemen curry was so flavorful and the beef was so tender! I'm a big fan. Unfortunately, the day took an unexpected turn when I had to go to the hospital, and for a while I thought I wouldn't make it at all. As a testament to both the kindness of my friends and the exceptional staff at Lao Lao, they were able to accommodate us even though I arrived nearly two hours late on a busy Saturday evening. Originally, our table was only reserved until 8:00 p.m.--the exact time I finally arrived. Thankfully, with the help of our incredible server, Savanna N., everything worked out. Her professionalism, warmth, and willingness to help truly made the evening possible. More than anything, I hoped the wait would be worthwhile for my friends, who were visiting for the first time. I'm happy to say they absolutely loved it--especially the outstanding hospitality and customer service. A huge thank you to Savanna and the entire team for making us feel so welcome. As for the food, every dish was delicious. Nothing disappointed. The papaya salad was such a hit that we ordered it twice. The Beef Massaman Curry, Crispy Lao Spiced Chips, Banana Leaf Steamed Fish, and the seasonal Vermicelli Noodle in Chicken Coconut Red Curry were all exceptional. Although it had been about a year since my last visit, I was delighted to see that Lao Lao remains consistently excellent in its food, quality, and service. Bravo!

The menu features a number of classic favorites, all of which are some of the best I've tasted of the cuisine. It tasted great the first time I visited in 2023 and even better when I returned in 2026! Pad See Ew - Excellent execution of the classic; love the tenderness of the chicken, and the tenderness of the leaves while retaining its texture. The authentic sweetness and garlic peppery notes come through well in the noodles as well. Mango Sticky Rice - Showshopping dessert that elevates the classic with added fun with the white chocolate shell; the mango is juicily well selected, while the sticky rice is softly warm and comforting. The coconut and rice flakes add another layer of dimensionality as well. It tastes even better than the version I had in 2023. Pad Thai Lunch - Had this back in 2023 which came with a soup, a curry, a noodle, and an appetizer which was spectacular value. The hot and sour soup was well balanced with acidity and spice; the green curry chicken could properly propagate the herbaceousness of the curry through the spice without being too spicy; the egg roll was properly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. And of course, the pad thai has those authentically bold notes of sweet, sour, salty that I am looking for. I found the dishes to be quite heavy-handed on the seasoning (borderline too salty), so the variety helps. Panang Curry - very flavorful, slightly sweet, and very savory. Had a nice kick to it! Som Tum Tod (fried papaya salad) - ordered it because it was their signature but I thought it was too salty and crunchy. And I got kind of tired of the fried aspect of it. Wished I ordered the fresh papaya salad instead. The heat and garlic is nice though. Decently sized portion so you can share it with the whole table. Pad Woonsen Cha-Om (Minced Pork & glass noodle, egg, garlic and acacia leaves) - my first time trying this dish! It was really good! It kind of filled the role of "fried rice" to me, mellowing out all of the stronger flavours of the other dishes. Still quite flavourful on its own too. Felt like a Thai-spin on the Korean dish, Japchae. Kai Yang (grilled chicken) - oh my gosh the sauce this chicken comes with is TO DIE FOR. I want to buy it or learn how to make it. It's so fragrant, fresh, spicy, aromatic, and just the right amount of fishy and acidic. We were very full sharing these 4 dishes between 3 people. For the fact that this is Michelin Bib Gourmand, I think it is well-priced and a great place to try!
