We stayed here because of it's location between PHX and Luke AFB (about 30 miles to each) and the economical price. We checked in late in the evening and the girl at the front desk was super friendly. The room was clean and the television had a ton of (almost too many) channels. The breakfast in the morning was complementary and was well stocked. All in all, this is a nice clean and worth the money.

Location: About 15 minutes away from the downtown Phoenix with free on-site parking; however, the hotel location is not so intuitive because of the one-way local street entrance (easy to drive in, a slight hassle to drive out). You will need to drive to grocery stores because they are not within 5 minutes of walking distance. Price: About $75 per night (with tax and other fees) for the 2 Queen Suite with a sofa bed. Room: Clean bathroom with a high pressure shower head, comfortable sofa bed (very easy to pull in and out the bottom deck of the sofa bed), free WiFi (I had to walk downstairs and ask for the password), and strong A/C (can set the temperature as low as 65 °F - that's awfully cold). Other amenities: A small fitness gym (treadmills, elliptical machines, and a dumbbell rack), a small pool, free popcorn + coffee + hot water with tea bags at the lobby, and complimentary breakfast. Honestly it was a surprisingly comfortable stay ... minus the strong A/C which was out of my control due to other folks adjusted the temperature during the middle of the night (in football teams battle for field position ... I had to battle for the temperature control).

This was actually my second time staying here but my first review. I remembered this location from my previous trip when some friends and I decided to do a road trip to Phoenix. Part of the reason I chose it is for the location which puts you close to the freeway and near a lot of restaurants. There is a big parking lot and the staff was very welcoming we got there even though our room wasn't ready yet and we figured it would happen as we were early. They were more than happy to hold our bags so that we didn't have them cooking in our car during the Phoenix summer sun. We had booked 2 suites, each one with 2 queen beds and a sleeper. The sleeper was not your typical heavy, pull out of the sofa sleeper. This one looked like a sofa, but you pulled the mattress out from under, removed the seat cushions to place the mattress on top a wooden frame. My friends that ended up sleeping on it were very satisfied. The room was clean and spacious with a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The morning breakfast in pre-covid times was pretty good but now it consists of a lot of grab and go stuff but there is still lots to chose from; hot cereal, fresh fruits, dry cereal, muffins, yogurt, coffee, tea and water. The morning staff consisted of only one person for a while so she was running around setting up the breakfast while trying to check out guests from their rooms. This place is very convenient and worth the money.

Not sure why the many great reviews. Not sleeping on this tonight. Highly disappointed. They can do better, I hope so at least.

It took 25 mins for the front desk receptionist to come out of the office. After check-in I went to enter the room but couldn't because the room key did not work. The receptionist had to change the room. Total check-in time after multiple trips to the front desk took an hour. The elevator was broken so it was multiple strips up and down the stairs. The following day my room key I programmed AGAIN so I had to go to the front desk again. The elevator was broken so my mother who is having issues with her heel had to endure the stairs. The pool was dirty. The sofa in the room had white questionable stains as in the picture I attached. The online photos did not match the property the pool is about 1/4 the size of the picture false advertisement. The hallway smelled like weed my whole 2 night stay. I was in town for my college graduation and had activities planned so if I had the time I would have looked and checked-in to another hotel. The room was not clean room service did not come in to clean the room throughout our whole stay. Definitely short staffed stay was not pleasant.

They offer Paul Mitchell bath products - nice touch

As mentioned in another review, there are so many hotels in this area, I often wonder how they all manage to stay in business. I used to live in Phoenix, frequenting the airport in particular, and never noticed this unpretentious hotel tucked away on the east side frontage road off I-17. The styling of the building is standard southwest issue, pale cream colored walls, tile, orange gravel and zero water decorative plants, but is notably clean and tidy with a nice little patio near the windows that allow diners to view the sun-drenched grounds. Parking is plentiful and free. The staff are friendly without being obsequious though I never had any problems or requests that would have tested the service beyond check-in and check-out. I was very surprised at the quality of the rooms and amenities given the very reasonable room rate. Less than $70 a night buys you a comfy bed, a generous kitchenette including a refrigerater / freezer and microwave, well organized work space, large couch and flat screen TV with a surprisingly modern and appealing decor. They even offer Paul Mitchell bath products which I've never seen at a hotel before. The A/C is powerful and effective against the oppressive heat of the valley. To sweeten your visit, the free breakfast they serve each morning offers a couple of hot items and a relatively large selection of continental items. (See my tip for more specific info.) Only possible complaint might be the location of the hotel. The frontage road only goes in one direction on each side of I-17 to the north or south of the hotel. I wanted to get to a grocery store for water etc and there were none nearby according to the Yelp app on my phone. Still, I'd stay here if I needed to be in this area of Phoenix overnight.

The hotel is inspired by the colorful and folk art influenced works of renowned mid-century modern architect and designer Alexander "Sandro" Girard. The hotel's bio says he was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Andaz Scottsdale. The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

Turns out with the room you can get an arm band that can be for the day of check-in and then extends to through to the next day -- which was so much fun. So a few things to cover about this great JW Marriott. They have self parking which is $30 day or you can do valet which is $50 overnight -- the valet is kind of worth it because the self parking lot is a bit of a hike. Also the valet is pretty quick -- I never waited longer than 5 minutes for my car. The lobby is expansive and has two levels. They were passing out freshly baked cookies near the registration desk when we checked in! I had called for an early check in and my room was ready by 1pm. There was a bit of a line at the registration but it was a Friday and to be expected. As soon as we checked in we made a b-line for the water park/pools. There was someone checking purses before you entered -- I guess just to make sure no food or outside drink? They also wouldn't let my son bring in his football. It was already around 2pm and the place was filling up quickly -- all of the chairs around the lazy river were taken but we were able to find some chairs by the hot tub -- I guess not many people wanted to be near the hot tub on a 100 degree day -- which was great since we were kind of away from the crowds (but also no service even after asking a waiter to send someone over near the hot tub). The hot tub is huge and is overlooking the golf course -- there is a little pond there too and the kids were all fascinated by the fish (but you can't go into the pond). There was also some cool bird watching too. The lazy river is so much fun and we spent the majority of our time in the lazy river. There are three slides -- two that you go down without a tube and one that you can go down on a tube in tandem. My son convinced me to go on the slide together and it was scary but fun. There is also another pool that is just a pool -- more adults than kids. I did notice they have a splash pad for kids too -- something for everyone! Aqua Nights -- during the summer they have the water park open until 10pm. They switch the tubes over to lit up flamingo, dinosaur and donut tubes and there are lights everywhere and a big speaker with music. Totally different vibe than the daytime but super fun -- also we had no idea they were going to have a drone light show -- that was so cool -- My pics turned out really bad though, LOL. I did notice that you can buy separate day passes for the water park and for aqua nights -- it is pretty pricey though, I would suggest a ResortPass instead -- much more affordable but also so much fun worth it either way. The hotel room was standard but I think all the rooms have a little balcony which is super nice since my son sleeps for hours and I wake up early. The beds though were so amazingly comfortable -- I actually slept longer than I normally do! I did go down to Starbucks in the lobby for coffee in the morning and found the little desert botanical garden walk -- it is not long but there are some really cool saguaros and some other beautiful desert plants. The hotel literally has something for everyone -- we didn't even explore half of it. The resort fee also comes with balls to go to the driving range and there is a spa -- I need to come back and really explore a lot more but the water park is sooo much fun! We didn't check out any of the restaurants because we spent so much time at the water park they were closed (and we had to drive over to the desert ridge mall to find dinner) by the time we were done swimming. The restaurants look really nice though. Also there is an arcade off the registration area in the lobby and down a bunch of stairs -- that was fun! Biggest complaint is that the food and drinks (we only ate at the water park) were outrageously expensive -- and not amazing. The fries are pretty good but don't let them sit too long or they get all soggy in the hot Phoenix air.

At this point I feel she had the chance to correct my bill and make things right but she chose to make me feel like I was in the wrong. Mayra from the management team at this hotel is stealing money…read more We paid for one night at this hotel through expedia. I paid via the app with my own credit card, and it posted to my credit card statement as a processed and posted charge. Upon check-in, they required a card for incidentals and parking (as most hotels do). My husband provided his card for this, and they swiped it three times because they said it was not working. It turns out that two of the three swipes went through, so he was charged twice. One was released upon check-out, like normal. One was not. We have since called about the second charge still being active and a posted charge, and their response was that Expedia never paid them for the nightly rate, so they're going to keep the second incidentals charge. I have provided proof of the posted expedia charge, expedia has confirmed they paid the hotel for this stay, and they refuse to listen or acknowledge any of it. On top of that, we got a parking ticket from the city of glendale for not paying for parking, even though we paid the hotel directly a separate $18 fee for parking! It took us nearly two months to get the ticket resolved, and they eventually stopped responding to us about the other charges. Expedia is trying to help us now file a complaint to get our rightful refund.
