My wife and children are traveling between Seattle and San Francisco without me right now and I wanted to find a good midway point for them to stop for the night. I booked a room at the SpringHill Suites through Expedia for them... and proceeded to wait 7 hours for a confirmation email from Expedia. Somewhat panicked that I wouldn't be able to find a room for my family, I called SpringHill directly and reserved the same room with a credit card. The Expedia email came through at 8pm and now we had double-booked. I called SpringHill Suites back and talks to Jeff and Dirk, both of whom were very accommodating. They honored the Expedia confirmation (which they hadn't received either) and canceled our other reservation at no charge. My wife claimed it was quite comfortable there and my kids dug the indoor pool. It is refreshing to see exceptional human customer service in the age of depersonalized Internet black holes. -5 stars for Expedia. If I could give Dirk and Jeff 6 stars I would. Very clean and right off the highway. Nice, helpful staff. Decent workout room with 3 cardio machines. They'll give you some headphones if you don't have any. An indoor pool and jacuzzi I didn't make it into, but looked nice. Decent breakfast. A make your own Belium waffle maker, which is always nice. I avoided the eggs and sausage, which looked like prefab McDonalds, but the oatmeal was very good and had numerous things to customize it. Fresh fruit. Probably 50 restaurants and a Fred Meyer nearby. A good choice to stay if you are visiting Ashland, too. As it is just a few minutes down the road. read more

Right off the freeway, and not far from the main drag if you have enough energy to drag yourself downtown. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful, the room was huge, and they had nice lotion in the bathroom. Haha. Wired internet was great, but the wifi was spotty at best. I was on the top floor at the very end of the hall...maybe that had something to do with it. The room had a sitting area, desk, mini bar area, and great bed. I couldn't figure out how to turn down the brilliant blue light coming from the iHome, so I didn't sleep as well as I should have. Breakfast was pretty basic: oatmeal, scrambled eggs, and dry sausage patties. They did have cheese, spinach, and salsa to put on your eggs though. However. Let me tell you one thing: they had little mini NUTELLA packages at breakfast. I was sold right there. I took a few for the road, sorry for the people who wanted a couple for themselves. Ha. I am pretty hard on hotels but this place was really great. The rooms are recently remodeled (on the 3rd floor anyway) and super clean. The beds are really comfy and we had a king on the first night and two queens on the second night. Both rooms were plenty roomy with our one year old and newborn in tow, even popped out a portacrib we borrowed from the hotel (it was new and very clean, with linens). Then amenities are great, they have in room movies, the kind that are still playing in some theatres, which is a huge plus for us cause we don't get to go out to movies anymore. Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner and some kinda lemony sage lotion that smelled delish. Big bathrooms were a +, and nice showerheads. Big couches in the rooms and refrigerators and micros. I used the treadmill in the small but perfectly okay exercise rooms (bring headphones for the super cool tv attached to your treadmill!). Baby did slip in the tub cause there are no non-slip pads (mentioned it to the front desk and they gave me one... why aren't they in the rooms!?!) I didn't have the brekkie but husband and kids went down and enjoyed it well enough. Overpriced wine and snacks in lobby but if there is a huge Walmart and Fred Meyer right out the driveway. Also a nice Hometown Buffett (great for the kids!) and McGrath's Fish House. Anytime we needed anything our whole stay it was delivered super promptly to our door with a smile. Even though it's in south Medford we will definitely be staying here on our frequent visits to the area. That last star didn't get checked cause at one point during the second night there was a kinda unhelpful blonde girl at the front desk, she just wasn't knowledgeable at all, luckily there was another girl (Rosa? She wasn't front desk but maybe housekeeping?) that was very professional. read more

Clean room, good breakfast. 2 bikes were cut out of locks right in front of the hotel. They had no cameras to capture any crime right in front of their door. The manager was kind but said they're not responsible. A legal argument for sure but I won't be back, nor would I recommend travelers stopping here to also get robbed. read more

Springhill suites, a Marriott property, is updated, has all the amenities you need for a short stay over while visiting. Hotel was great! We arrived mid afternoon and the front desk agent was super sweet. She even suggested a decent sushi place in Medford for dinner. Pool is indoor and can get rather musty/hot. Gym only has 3 cardio machines as it looks like a old storage room that was converted into a gym. Our room was bug and clean. My only complaint was that the beds weren't that firm and you could sink into a oblivion if you weren't careful. Free breakfast in the morning was a plus. read more

Had a great experience at this hotel, checked in late but was greeted with a friendly staff member and provided a quick check in. Slept like a rock after a 10hour drive in a very comfortable bed and nice room. Complementary breakfast was surprisingly really good and even took seconds. I have stayed in Marriotts here and there over the years and i have never had a bad experience. My gf left a small bottle shampoo and the staff was nice enough to give me a call and let me know. Small gestures and going the extra mile for customer services like that will keep me coming back. read more

An Oasis for Family with Kids! We travel from Northern California to Central Oregon to a family camp for special needs children every Summer. We spend the night at The SpringHill Suites in Medford on the way up and back. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The kids love the pool. The complimentary breakfast is great. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. We stayed at another hotel/motel in Medford and it was a disaster. Needless to say, we will be spending at least 2 nights a year at The SpringHill Suites in Medford. read more

I enjoy my stay here pretty much! - clean room with great decoration. - super friendly stuff. - convenient location when visiting Ashland and Crater lake I called the hotel before I arrived to change the bed type. They didn't have what I wanted and put my preference in record. When I arrived, they had it ready! I asked some trip suggestions when we checked in at midnight. The young staff printed the map and info out for us. The only thing I can complain about is the breakfast, which is little boring. Well. but it is free! This hotel was the right price for what we needed. The breakfast was adequate and the service was good. My only complaint is that their room key machine was faulty and our cards worked for a second and then they didn't. We were locked out of our room at least twice. Fortunately we weren't on a time crunch we were there on leisure but when you are tired and want to rest you don't want to be locked out of your room. I would certainly stay here again. read more

I wrote this on the night of my stay. "I'm here right now and I can't sleep. I hear people walking around the rooms above me; I hear water from their flushed toilets rushing down the pipes. I hear families walking around the hallways and doors slamming shut. I hear everything, which makes me wonder if the walls, floors and ceilings are built to proper codes. and to top it all up, there's a pool of water with pink mildew on the tub, where it dips lower than the drain. so, water just sits. I have another long drive home tomorrow and I'm afraid that I will not be fully rested for it... lame." read more

Usually people write reviews when something went really good or really bad. Well my experience at SpringHill Suites went amazing! Cassie, the front desk attendant was so welcoming and friendly, sometimes you can tell that the front desk just wants to check you in and get you out of the way especially when getting stuck with a shift on a holiday but she made us feel like we were of the utmost importance to her. Without asking she gave us suggestions for places to see the fireworks (we came on July 4th) and shopping centers open in case we needed to buy anything we might've forgotten, and when we got settled into the room she even called to ask if there was anything else she may do for us to make us feel more at home! What excellent customer service my parents and I were blown away :) thank you again Cassie, if were ever in the area we'd definitely choose this hotel again! read more

We are loyal marriott customers and the cleanliness and comfort I the room didn't disappoint. However another guest had a child that thought the room was a jungle gym late into the night. After two calls to the front deal the issue still didn't completely stop until 1:30 am. We changed rooms the next morning when it started again and although we asked the front desk to remove that night from our bill they did not. When we checked out and explained Marjorie removed the charge no problem. For that we were very grateful. read more

This place is a pretty decent Marriot brand location. Parking is not bad, didn't have a hard time looking for parking. Front desk when I checked in, were helpful to an extent. They seemed new and didn't know what to do. Luckily, in the early AM the night auditor was knowledgeable and most definitely helpful! The breakfast was awesome and the breakfast attendant was great. Only recommendation is to upgrade on using eco friendly paper plates. The ones used cheapened the look. The suite I was in had this weird smell to it, it may be a smell embedded in the carpet. The room definitely needed more attention to detail with cleanliness. Overall, this was a subpar Marriot brand location. It served the need of the one night we were there. read more

Parallel Universe: I booked this hotel because Expedia said it was pet friendly. Upon check in I was told that was not the case ( no pets) yet they asked me if I had a "service dog" and I said yes. ( She actually is a service dog). So, I decided to stay even though there was a hand's down pet friendly property, literally 50 feet away from the same company. The staff was incredibly friendly. ' Told me where to go for an awesome burger, local, and it was. Got the burger (15 minutes away, 30 minute wait, and totally worth it). Came back to the hotel and while walking my dog was met by an extremely aggressive dog owner. He had two dogs. He made some crude remarks, told me about "leash laws in Oregon", my dog was on a leash". I decided to just let him be angry man. Especially because I'm not sure what the gun laws are in Oregon and this guy seemed unbalanced. AS I went to walk my dog again I was blocked off the elevator by a very large woman. I tried to get around her. She said she was there to figure out "what happened between me and her husband". At that point I felt unsafe and asked her to come to the front desk with me so that we could mediate and solve the problem. The first front desk employee (guy) actually acted like a prison guard, and told both of us to "shut up". Wow. Then the manager came on and managed. As the wife who admitted that she was not there to witness said "dog attack" (My dog is an eleven year old, bearded collie service dog), The 10 wittnesses to this event have agreed to testify. My mom, sister, and I stayed at this hotel on our way south to Sacramento. The suite was perfectly sized for the three of us with two queen beds and a pull-out sofa bed. (Linens and blanket neatly provided in the closet.) The mattress on the queen bed was exceptional. At 7 months pregnant, this was the first time in months I actually slept AND woke up pain-free. Yay! The bathroom was good sized and separated so two people could easily use the amenities at once. Hair-dryer in the closet worked perfectly! I hate having to carry a hair dryer around with me, so I always try to stay where one is provided. The wet bar area was a nice touch with a sink, coffee maker, and fridge. We were able to keep all of our travel snacks chilled and water nice and cold. The breakfast service was great and had something for everyone. Waffles, bagels, toast, pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, eggs, sausage. If they had non-dairy milk it would be perfect! The entire hotel was very clean and the front desk person even offered concierge services. It is close to shopping and dining and has super simple freeway access. This hotel definitely feels like a fancier place than what you pay. I would definitely stay here again. read more

I had never stayed at a SpringHill Suites before and there are three different hotels within walking distance but based on online reviews, I picked SpringHill. It was pretty good. I classify these inbetween hotels and motels - not quite the luxury of true hotels but you can't see through the towels like you can at some motels. Anyway, staff were very friendly and room was clean. Bed was surprisingly comfortable -not hard as a board. Not pillowtop but fairly soft. Breakfast was good - usual ware but lots of variety. I would have liked one of those automated pancake machines (like at the Hilton Garden Inns) but the oatmeal was good with lots of fruit, yogurt and bread/pastries/bagels. Definitely enough to eat! I left some jewelry in a cup - yes - stupid, I know - and it was gone when I returned (room cleaned). I figured it had been put in the dishwasher without anyone even looking so I wasn't going to tell the staff but I did and within 10 minutes, they are at my door with the jewelry that had been bagged. Fast checkin/checkout. Well located, easy freeway on/off and lots of restaurants /stores nearby. I asked for a room close to the elevator and foam pillows (online) and both requests were accomodated. My second stay I didn't make a request and got a room mid-way down the hall. Both rooms were at least as large as an Embassy Suite. read more

Wonderful service! We arrived at midnight from San Francisco. The young staff Brenton (?) was so nice and helpful that immediately we fell in love with this hotel. We had four people and he helped with two queen beds. We loved to spent time on the L-shape couch in the room. The next night we borrowed the knife from the kitchen to cut the watermelon. He was so considerate to take us to the kitchen and we had our work done. I definitely would recommend this lovely hotel. read more

Thank you for a lovely room! VERY clean, fresh, spacious and welcoming. The linens were soft and cozy. Slept like a log! Nice TV size with volume control that will not exceed your neighbors comfort (haha). Comfortable seating area with couch, overstuffed chair and desk. The kitchenette was nice, only complaint was the refrigerator did not get overly cold. Bathroom roomy and products were good brands, not low grade. Public ice machine and surrounding area very clean and well lit. Pool was refreshing for my morning swim and I noticed an employee coming in/out checking for towels, etc. Did miss the breakfast buffet so not able to evaluate. Large carafes of coffee in lobby... thank you!!! The staff were very friendly and very helpful! When up your way, will definitely book with you again! Thank you again! read more

This is a hard place to find. The desk service is very good and helpful. The breakfast was nice, but crowded. They have a hard time stocking the breakfast bar. The rooms in the hotel are roomy, however the walls are not insulated very well. You can hear the next door neighbor clearly and their tv. The first night we had no one next to us, but the second night we had a family with kids and it was noisy. read more

What a great hotel! Nice comfortable bed, quiet room, breakfast was good, coffee in the lobby....this was welcomed after a 2 week stay and another hotel in California that wasnt all that great. The best thing was this - we work graveyard shifts and sometimes work late into the morning (9 or 10am), so when we get back to the hotel, we often find that breakfast is over with. After explaining this to the front desk, they told us that they can make arrangements to bag up some breakfast for us if we were working late. WOW! Out of all of the hotels Ive stayed at for work, none of them has ever tried to accomodate our hours like this! We never worked that late in the morning to experience them doing this during our stay, but Im sure they would have done it for us. If we ever have to come back for work, Im sure we would book this hotel again! read more
