Stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by this small restaurant close to Schlitterbahn waterpark. The restaurant is very small but they make up for it with BIG potatoes. The staff is very friendly and helpfully offered recommendations. I went with the Chicken Fried Steak Spud and my girlfriend had the Brisket Spud. Both were absolutely MASSIVE and delicious! Absolutely would recommend to anybody looking for a delicious lunch while at the water park!

Place was clean, service was kind and enthusiastic. And my potato was good- they had so many kinds to choose from. I just wish the tables had salt shakers, the little packets were killing me. I'd go back.

We stopped at this location after floating the river. It was a delicious decision! The baked potatoes were amazing. I got to taste a few flavors off my friends' potato dishes. The chicken Parm was good, the traditional tasted like your best baked potatoes from home should taste. I totally enjoyed a Texas Bacon Cheeseburger, which was pretty good and well deserving of its award recognition. Let me tell you, these guys know they've cornered the market on their baked potatoes - and they're pretty good at it. Spuds Ranch offers a kids menu... the usual, mac and cheese; grilled cheese, and chicken tenders. My kids topped off their Lili Russet meals with some grilled cheese sandwiches and fries. They went back for their assortment of Blue Bell Ice Cream for dessert. You put in your order, and you get your food quickly and with friendly service. Plenty of parking in the back. If you crave a baked potato, this is your place in New Braunfels.

This place is a gem!! I regret not coming here sooner but now that I've had a taste of the yumminess they serve, I'll be back... OFTEN!! The sweet girl who took our order was very helpful letting us know her favorites and popular items. It was very clean inside! There was a couple eating next to us and as soon as they left, the table was wiped. Everything sounded enticing while reading the menu. I couldn't decide what I wanted to try so I ordered multiple items. It was just my husband and I and we had the fried okra (which btw was AMAZING) served hot and fresh out of the grease was the perfect starter, the steak sandwich and fresh cut fries (the steak was so flavorful and tender) that were not processed and were cut from fresh potatoes, the chicken spud (it was HUGE) that packed with flavorful tender chicken pieces and the Texas cheeseburger. Everything was great but I'd have to say my favorites were definitely the steak sand sandwich and the okra. They also have drive thru for those who are unaware like I was. I'd definitely recommend this establishment to anyone looking for delicious food made hot and fresh. You will not be disappointed.

Chili Cheeseburger Spud was well done. A little pricy, but tasty.

Solid menu and stick to your ribs food. The meal was enjoyable and staff was friendly. Only drawback was the flies. Maybe it was because we sat close to the soda fountain, but there isn't much of a choice in the space offered. I know that bugs fly in and it can be expected, but to be hassled by flies during the entire meal was not appetizing.

Our Local Go To for Brisket Every Time…read more Black's BBQ in New Braunfels is our local go to spot. It is a quick drive from home, and their brisket keeps us coming back. We always order a mix of regular and a little lean for me, and both are consistently tender and flavorful. The sausage is ok, but the turkey on the rare occasions we get it is delicious and moist. For sides, we love Norma Jean's beans, green beans, and slaw. They are reliable and always hit the spot. One thing I discovered is that if I reheat the brisket in my Breville oven on the warm setting, it comes out tasting just like it did the day we ordered it. Desserts are sometimes a thing for us. The peach cobbler and banana pudding can be good, but they are not always consistent. Side note. I still do not know what to think about their family rival, Terry Black's BBQ building right next door. It is a cool vibe overall, and if you catch it at the right time, they even have musical events which makes the visit even better.

The brisket was extremely average... nothing stood out about it at all. Not soft, not hard, not lean, not moist, just average. I also tried the ribs, these, I'm sorry to report were actually below average on my scale. I don't rate every barbecue spot I try, unfortunately only the very good ones and below expectation ones leave enough of an impact that compels me to leave a review. Once I saw that, I told my husband let's just go to Rudy's. They have the best breakfast tacos and are less than $3 a taco. We were greeted with a warm good morning as we came in the door. The cashier helped us with the cost of the tacos, bag our tacos and salsas, and rung us up. I love the country style decor and picnic table seating but we decided to take our tacos to go. We got 3 tacos for around $10. They are so good. Fresh tortillas with great tasting scrambled eggs, meats, potatoes, etc. We just went to their order to go side and grabbed ready made tacos and delicious red and green salsa. All of our breakfast tacos were delicious. Egg, potato, and cheese, brisket & egg, and chopped beef & egg. The brisket and egg was my favorite. It had just a small amount of smoke flavor without being overpowering. You didn't just taste egg. It all complimented each other very well. I was impressed by the amount of meat. I love the green salsa. That's my favorite but I put both salsas on it. Honestly the bbq is hit and miss at every location I've been to. I'm not crazy about the bbq sauce either but I always like the tacos. Especially the bbq breakfast tacos.

Their brisket is divine and the sides we chose were out of this world. My husband loves their beans. The green beans were unique and I appreciated that they were super flavorful with tomatoes and delicious broth. The star of the show with the sides was the King Ranch Mac N Cheese!!!! I grew up on King Ranch Chicken Casserole as a child. So I was thrilled to have a macaroni with those delicious flavors. For a little history, that particular casserole emerged in the 1950s as a convenient, post-World War II Tex-Mex comfort food. Despite its name, it has no actual ties to Texas's famous King Ranch; instead, it is a creative, canned-soup-based casserole inspired by the Mexican dish chilaquiles. I am ususally underwhelmed by macaroni and cheese but this was the best. The macaroni shape was unusual and the closest I could find online was called "Radiator" because the similarity in shape to a radiator. It held the sauce perfectly though. McKayla helped us cart out our food to the car and was so sweet and helpful. We love Burnt Bean and plan to return!

You cannot try a wide variety of their dishes but it was enough for me. I had pick up at 10:30 and you just go to the back a bit of a wait like 10-15 minutes since they cut the meat to order. I got the brisket (2 lbs), pork ribs (2 lbs) , jalapeño sausage (1lb), and quart sizes of the corn pudding, tater tot dish, and hot cheeto mac and cheese. The stars were definitely the pork rib (super flavorful and tender), the brisket was fall apart tender, and the jalapeno sausage had a beautiful snap and is properly spicy. I was a bit disappointed with the sides. My favorite was probably the corn pudding but I still prefer a nice roasted corn OR a corn bread but this was a very unique combo of the two. The mac was okay and same with the tater tot side (honestly the potatoes were quite salty). The sauce isn't my favorite since I personally prefer a spicier sauce. The bread they have is very nice and the people are friendly. It's also quite smoky inside.

I digress. Let's get this review going: This family-owned bbq joint opened their door just a couple of years ago (2023). Don't let this new establishment concern you because these folks have been at it for years. Their previous place was in Rosenberg and it opened back in 1990. Prior to that , the owner's parents started their first place back in 1964. Proper, generational barbecue...it's in their blood. In fact, I'm pretty sure their blood is bbq sauce. They know what they're doing! The restaurant and covered patio are modern and industrial with wood, brick, and metal elements. Ample seating inside and out. The food is bombastic! Sometimes they have an Italian beef sandwich that I'm just crazy about. Love these other sandwiches too: Brisket Turkey Sausage Boyfriend loves the pulled pork sandwich. The brisket nachos are mouth-watering goodness. They have brisket tostadas that I've not tried yet but definitely plan to. I lose my mind for the peach crumble and the boyfriend loves the pecan cobbler. Sides we love: Brisket rice!! Tater tot casserole!!
