Came in for a cup of coffee pretty good price of $2.25 albeit it is in the self-serve thermos. Out of four flavors only two are available thankfully I was craving hazelnut it was pretty good. Lots of donuts to choose from and it seems like a popular local place tucked away in the once beautiful area that had lively shops and was such a nice attraction now it's a wasteland Ghost Land kind of thing with only a few shops surviving and this is one of them. Can't understand for the life of me why the city does not revamp and renovate this entire area and add a bunch of restaurants and shit they would make so much money go figure. It's just such a Charming area sad that only this place and the sit down seafood place with the lobster tanks pretty much the only businesses that are open. Weeds have grown through the parking lot now and all the shops are boarded up and shut down for decades. Ironically there was a group of seniors who brought their chairs and were sitting in the middle of the parking lot drinking coffee that is bizarre even for Oxnard standards. read more

I've been only four or five times because I try to watch my girlish figure. We all know donuts are just frosted, deep-fried cake. Does it get worse than that? Hey, I'm known for running straight away from my problems and smack dab into the arms of chocolate (nothing would surprise me less than seeing every woman, every LGBTQ+ loved one and ally, huddled up tight in donut holes together seeking the kind of solace only sugar brings), and these donuts are delish. It's a cozy place. Some might say scruffy, but they're wrong. It's beachy. Its workers are super friendly and it seems like the place is always open. There's a community bulletin board on the back wall, genre business cards (dentists'--you'll need those), flyers for concerts and car shows, donation-based sand yoga, somebody's uncle's offer of low-priced accordion lessons, and so forth. There a tall fridge of sweet or fruity drinks, but I have enough problems. Pretty impossible to screw up: Make the cake batter. Fry it. Frost it. Stick it under glass. Wait. Kids and sad people will come buy it. Some will even bicycle over in a twisted hope for a trade-off. I like the jelly-filled, the cinnamon, the bear claws, and anything chocolate. Oops, I already said that. I'm glad there are not many patio tables and chairs out front for congregating; otherwise, I'd plant myself, cozy, sugared up, and drowning Clarence Thomas, housing prices, and other sorrows under the salt-air stirred branches of the eucalyptus. Ordered two "fresh squeezed oj's" let's just say they are not fresh squeeze at all so paying over $4.00 a cup is a ripoff for store bought orange juice that was poured into cups to look as if they actually made fresh squeezed. I don't know what I'm missing here, or if the history around Spudnuts in the Oxnard/Ventura area is such that there's a nostalgia factor to it all, but I just wasn't impressed with Spudnuts Donuts. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? I will say that the server at Spudnuts couldn't have been nicer. Very sweet, careful, and willing to share what the various donuts were and so on and so forth. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Spudnuts is cheap. Full stop, and that's a good thing, reminiscent about how affordable donuts used to be before specialty items blew up the prices to nearly $5.00 per donut and more for some. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? All in all I really just wasn't impressed. For starters, the selection at Spudnuts is pretty mediocre. I'm fine with donut shops staying traditional and not dabbling into various fruit combinations and cookies and cream and samoa and cookie butter and what have you, but I felt as though have of the selection at Spudnuts was just various iterations of that standard sprinkles pink and white cake donuts, which really just don't strike my fancy. I opted for the old fashioned and a cinnamon bun, and both were just okay. A bit dry, and all together not so memorable. No Stars. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? Again let me know if I'm missing something here, but I just don't see the appeal especially given how complex and innovative many donut shops are getting these days. No Star. read more

Don't come here at 4 am or 5 am . Debit wasn't available there is an ATM but it was out of service . They don't offer full menu at this time . Very upsetting drove 30 min to get these amazing donuts and left disappointed wasn't able to get anything . This is probably the best doughnut experience I've had in years. We just moved into the area and decided to go to the nearest donut place and it was this Spudnuts. Back home we'd almost given up on doughnuts-- they always seem to be greasy or stale tasting. But these Donuts were to die for! Fresh and delicious like they just been baked in heaven. My husband brought home an absolutely gigantic cinnamon roll topped with walnuts and just enough icing to be perfect. It was delicious to the very last bit. I don't know what the deal is here with this place. I went by and picked up a couple of donuts and they microwaved them. I didn't ask for them to be microwaved and I thought it was odd, but for some reason went with it. Took a bite on the ride home and it was as you would expect if you microwaved a donut. Gross. I'm guessing this is the move when the donuts aren't fresh? I don't know, but never again. I forgot about this until I wanted a donut again and thought, "Ah, yeah, not the place that microwaves the donuts" and starting looking on Yelp. read more

She then gave herself a $3 tip with out my knowing also didn't receive my receipt after then when it cleared my account the total went up $6!! I used to live super-close to this Spudnuts location, and unfortunately I made the discovery of this place early in my year-long stint at Hollywood beach. As a tech for the ventura county ocean water quality monitoring program, spudnuts was my staple on my route from Rincon to the California line in Malibu on my weekly bacterial sampling routes. I would try and avoid spudnuts (where I would inevitably purchase a fabulous maple bar and small carton of nonfat), but would be pulled in like a black hole each time. Yup, even sampling the poo-infested waters of Kiddie Beach did nothing to deter my tastebuds. Finally, I listened to my expanding waistline and changed my purchases accordingly. Hey, if you can't beat it... substitution always works. My days then began with a fresh-baked bran muffin and large cup of fresh squeezed orange juice...my mouth is literally watering as I reminisce on these spudnuts treats. There are very few things in life better than a Donut.... Even a Bad Donut is better than most things.... that being said, these are some mighty nice Donuts. Very nice selection, plus they have like Super size donuts of all types, that are like the size of an old LP record..ok well close to it. To me, the perfect donut has chocolate on it, and some nice sprinkles, either chocolate or rainbow, depending on my mood.
