Stopped in here for donuts because they were open til 9pm on a Saturday! I typically go to the other locations both on Channel Islands but they close a lot earlier so when a late in the day craving kicked in Spudnuts came in clutch! They had a lot to choose from even though it was 845 so to my surprise I was able to buy all the ones I was hoping for. They offer a variety of breakfast sandwiches and smoothies juices and coffee. The lady behind the counter was super nice and helpful. GETTING HERE: On Victoria Avenue in Oxnard. Look for the Jack in the Box (at 5th Street) and you'll find Spudnuts in the strip mall. REVIEW: Pretty good donuts! I must admit I try to keep a healthy distance from all things donuts (custard filled cough cough!), but I needed some treats and was in the area running errands. This was my first visit here, and won't be my last! The donuts were fresh and flavorful. The young man was very friendly and helpful as I took way too long to make the choices. :) Of course, I didn't get pictures (Boo!) but it's because I may have had one (cough cough) in the car and didn't want to put myself on blast. When the owner's nephew heard me say that an apple fritter was my favorite, except I need to cut it into 4ths, I ordered it but he cut it for me without me noticing! How attentive to your customers! Next compliment is about their breakfast sandwich. Holy smokes, the #2, croissant with egg, bacon, ham and cheese, was made fresh to order with their baked croissants. The sandwich h was HUGE, hot and delicious. It's enough for 2-3 meals for me. I was very very pleased with the quality of both food and service. But how the woman working there handled it was downright rude, unprofessional, and totally disgusting and in violation of any semblance of hygienic or following health department sanitary rules for food service food handling. These donuts, man. They are so good. We own a beach house locally, so we are fairly regularly at Spudnuts. We leave happy every time. My daughter and husband are partial to the buttermilk clusters. Yes, that is as delicious as it sounds. My husband also loves the maple bars here. If you're a fan of more traditional donuts, the old fashioned is not to be missed. So when I got home I go to pull out a donut to enjoy at home and they did not wrap any of the donuts in parchment paper, needless to say I was sad cause some of the donuts got stuck together. The girl at the counter was very nice, but she tricked us. We came in and asked if they had any donut holes. She said yeah and pointed at a tray and said some are filled and some are not. We ordered some as well as one regular chocolate donut bar. When we left, I ate one of the supposed donut holes to find out it was a cream puff. What a disappointment. I've heard from some locals that this place was pretty good, so of course I wanted to try it out. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this place was opened 24 hours AND that they had a great selection of donuts, even around 1pm, when many donut places are sold out. My date ordered a GINORMOUS chocolate sprinkle raised donut, which was quite possibly the biggest donut i've ever seen in my life (will post a picture soon :D). I ordered a maple sprinkle topped cake donut and a chocolate frosted bavarian cream filled raised donut. Both were PERFECTLY baked, super fresh, and loaded with just the right amount of sweetness. I particularly liked my bavarian cream filled donut, because most of the cream filled donuts that I eat have a very small amount of cream, but this one was LOADED and the cream was perfectly prepared. I was very satisfied with my donuts and I just wish there was a Spudnuts in San Diego so I can enjoy it more often!! Spudnuts is like every other donut shop, just gotta know your dough & rolls. If you want a simple dozen box, you can grab yourself a fast to-go service here. My only concern is the area. Sometimes there's a bum outside waiting to be fed or something, but this is also next door to Subway, behind a gas station, & nearby El Pollo Loco. The outside can be deceiving, but if you're not too critical about the indoor & just want donuts, this is the spot. I asked the worker if they have the donuts with cereal on top, but they said every Spudnuts is different & have different specials. If you want interesting looking donuts or cereal on your donuts from Spudnuts, I've seen it at the one in Newbury Park. They have cronuts here! read more

There's only two donut shops in my hometown (San Diego) that are awesome & they're separated by 25 miles. One I can get on my day off and one on work days. If this place was local, but 25 miles away near work, I'd drive here on my day off just for their donuts... they're that good! My kid and his friend loved their giant sprinkle donuts. The chocolate old fashioned was perfect. Really good consistency... not too hard, but not too soft either. The glazed twist was an ooey gooey bar of deliciousness... same with my wife's glazed raised. We bought a few extras for dessert tonight & can't wait to have dinner to get to these again. The Good: We have tried and liked the sugar & cinnamon donut, crumb donut, banana/walnut muffin, blueberry muffin, ham & cheese croissant, apple fritter, chocolate glaze with peanuts and chocolate cake donuts with glaze with sprinkles, coconut donut, the sour cream donut, the cruller, the cinnamon rolls, and the long bars with chocolate glaze and chocolate chips. Our family agreed the apple fritter has been the best we've tried (collectively) and the cake-donuts with the chocolate or vanilla glazes are our favorites. The bad: occasionally, about 1 out of 10 times, certain donuts can be dry or overcooked. Overall this is a very good place to get a variety of donuts. When we've gotten treats for our family gatherings or for my work, I always get compliments and questions where I bought the donuts. I don't know what has happened to this location. It use to have the best doughnuts in town. Now not so much. Last couple of times my wife and granddaughters have been in this store the service was great and the doughnuts were terrible. I got two old fashioned buttermilk each time, wow what a shock. Today we were in there at 8:30 AM. My two doughnuts were "DAY OLD", HARD AS A ROCK. Jelly doughnut was dry, chocolate bear claw was runny. The last time we were in this store was about three weeks ago at 10:30 AM, Same thing. What happened to the other people that use to make GREAT snacks. Don't waste your time or money for a bad excuse for a doughnut. There is no excuse to selling day old doughnuts. read more

I wound up stopping in here the other morning on the way to the Channel Islands Marina for the Channel Islands to Marina Del Rey Regatta. It doesn't look like it could be that great on the outside. Just looks like a little strip mall spot, but once you walk inside, it becomes evident that they have great food! I don't have much of a taste for sweets these days, so I just had a cake doughnut with chocolate chips on it and a cup of coffee. The coffee was strong and hot, and the doughnut melted in my mouth.
