My girlfriends LOVE coming to Spumoni especially on Mondays when mostly everything on the menu is 50% off. We usually start out with the chopped salad it's so light and refreshing. I've tried a few of their homemade pastas and they're all amazing but the carbonara tonight was amazing, so creamy. We paired it with some garlic bread to wipe up the extra sauce. Last night we ordered a calzone and a Caesar salad on DoorDash. When the delivery man arrived at Spumoni, he picked up the salad (which was in a bag) and left the calzone (in a pizza box). Clearly they were next to each other, but the guy didn't look. He was probably on the same call he was on when he dropped the delivery off at our door. Anyway, the delivery guy took off before we realized he only brought us a salad. When we called the restaurant, the manager came on the phone, and said, "What's your address? We'll handle it. Came in for lunch. Did the half pasta and salad lunch special for about $17. I did gnocchi with pesto and Italian salad and my bf did rigatoni bolognese with Caesar salad. Just seems really chaotic and crazy. We found a hair in our salad and sent it back because there was no way a small white hair was any of ours. Then my mom found a black hair in her salmon pink sauce pasta. And they took it away and tried charging us for it. Just felt too disorganized snd messy. They did remove it after I asked again. The minestrone was very bland--the carrots were soggy, the broth had no flavor, and it even tasted oddly sweet. The fettuccine Alfredo was alright. I am so happy they're still here and open after all these years! What a wonderful experience from the moment we found plenty of parking in the back to be seated immediately on an Easter Sunday. I was with some friends this evening and the four of us met at Spumoni, located at 713 Montana Avenue in Santa Monica at 7th. Spumoni is both a trattoria and pizzeria with a full menu of salads, antipasti, pastas (fresh), carne, gnocchi, pollo, and New York Style Pizza. There was a discounted price off the menu for certain dishes which was very appealing and a great way to build a following! This is a popular venue with a bar and about twenty-five tables in an attractive setting. The waiters and servers are first rate, and they also deliver as you can visit them online at www.spumonirestaurants.com As a group we shared a Chopped Salad ($16) as well as a Prosciutto & Burrata $17). Both were excellent. Their bread is first rate and I had the Cavatelli Broccoli Rabe ($26), another had the Gnocchi ($24), one had the Ravioli ($25) and our other guest had the Pizza Diavola ($28). Two within our party had a glass of Chianti while I had an Arnold Palmer. Our food was delivered together and in a timely manner and everyone was happy with their selections. We arrived around 7:45PM so we didn't get the chance to order (hard 9PM close) dessert, but the appetizers and meals were filling and delightful. Spumoni has a local following and on a Monday we had to wait to get in which is always a good sign for quality Italian food. So you can't technically order the whole menu and take it all to go to benefit from the amazing price, but you can come back the day after again and again! Check sighs to be cautious as well as parking in the lot. A few of us got together and caught up during lunch. Service was good starting off but it got kind of got slow during lunch. It did seem short staff for the lunch rush. Also, it took a while to actually order a starter as there was maybe two waiters. But beside that, we did enjoy our time here. The staters was good, as well as portions. Didn't take long to come out. Also, they do have a wide array of wine from the list. Food, every dish we food was great. A friend invited me to lunch. She suggested Spumoni. As I always do with someplace I haven't been before, I looked at the reviews on Yelp. Spumoni looked good, so we had lunch at Spumoni today. When I looked at the menu online before we went there I saw Penne Arrabbiata. I like Penne Arrabbiata so that's what I had. It was very good. My friend and her other friend both had the Matteo Salad. They both said it was very good. Had the option to add meat to the Penne Arrabbiata which I didn't do. Also didn't have any of the optional cheese on my Penne Arrabbiata. My friend said she comes to Spumoni fairly often, even though she has to drive back to Malibu in the afternoon traffic. Spumoni is so good people don't mind getting stuck in traffic to eat there. We had a good time at Spumoni but the two old ladies (they looked even older than us and we are 75) at a nearby table had a bottle of Champagne to go with their lunch and they were having a better time than we were. read more

I wanted to like this restaurant--cute, close to where my daughter lives--but getting the most basic things like wine and dessert were a chore. We had lasagna, Branzino, chicken with prosciutto, the carbonara and the Italian salad, which were all very good except the carbonara, which outside of the pancetta lacked flavor. We have ordered several times from here because the pasta is great. This is the last and final order. I placed the order an hour in a half ago and still have no food. I called the restaurant and was put on hold for 10 mins while they were supposed to check on it and needed to call back and still got put on hold. They have told me several times my order was coming.
