Ok, let's jump in. This place is a perfect little Italian place just south of the Santa Monica pier The meatball appetizer although $13 (a little over priced for 2 meatballs, but they were made perfectly. The ravioli $22 leave a little to be desired. Kind of gave me the frozen vibe. However, the carbonara was absolutely amazing! The pizza is pretty good as well, it not NY level but for California it's a good pie. The staff is friendly, place is clean. Overall I would recommend this place and the carbonara for sure. Prices seem a little high but for the area I'm not surprised. After a long day at the beach, definitely stop by and have a good meal

Delicious Italian food that's right next to the Santa Monica Pier. Pasta is made fresh, and the sauces are simple and authentic.

The food here is delicious. The service is kinder than most and do their best to make you feel at home. The ambiance makes you feel like you're in the old country m. You walk in the door and Europe is right there. Back to the delicious food, we had a chicken Marsala, garlic bread, and lasagna. The lasagna and garlic bread were smash hits. The Marsala differs from any that I've ever had and that was a good thing. Their dessert was a pistachio Ricotta cake which was truly amazing. For European taste, service, and feel this is the place. Thanks Michael and Marion! If you can't wait to go to Europe, go to Bruno's.

Our AC was broken on Sat and it was 97° outside and 86° inside in Burbank so we decided to go to the beach for dinner. It's amazing how much cooler (like 20°) it is on the south side of the hill. We parked at the mall ($4). So we found Bruno's for Italian food. We were seated right away. The man who helped us spoke Italian to the other employees and told me he was from there when I asked. So that was a good sign. We split garlic bread and a dinner salad. I had lasagna and my man had fettuccine Alfredo. We enjoyed all. It was a bit spendy- expect those Santa Monica prices! It was good(but not magical).

Sadly this food wasn't very good in my option. The Caesar salad was more of an Italian salad with a lot of garlic. But not a true Caesar dressing at all. It was "ok" but not what I was expecting. The bread they brought out was very plain yet toasted - so not soft and lacking flavor. Not worth eating. So I stopped after a few bites. We were going to order veal. But they didn't have it tonight. We didn't know til we went to order. So we got the chicken parmigiana. It wasn't very flavorful and sauce was pretty bland. I think the same sauce was on the spaghetti. So after a bite, I didn't eat it either. Disappointing meal to me. My husband said the meatballs were "good" and he sorta liked the chicken. So I'll say 3 stars (average meal at an above average price). :(

On any given Sunday, I as a creature of habit stay within the confines of Venice and walk the canals esp in winter when the ocean breeze is more of a sandstorm. But today was gorgeous. So my neighbor and I decided to walk the ocean to Nordstrom's from Venice to Santa Monica. We never made it there but since we were parched and starved 3 miles later. We decided to roll the dice walk into Bruno's for linner. It was an excellent idea. Let's begin with the service, it's friendly and thorough always a major consideration. And the side salad was amazing. All sorts of veges in a melange not just a pile of lettuce leaves. The Pizza was handmade and both perfectly crunchy and cheesy But not greasy: A fine balance. We dined outside bc as you know, I brought my lil pup Pongo. It was private and the ocean breeze was relaxing. And then of course, I had a feminine emergency and they were ever so kind to help me! And that saved me until I was able to return home to Venice and comfortably address my situation. I appreciate that, more than I can express! Did I mention this is a small business and family-owned. Both of which I am a strong advocate of, in these times of considerable corporate inflation. Ya know this 6 mile walk may become a habit of sorts just to sit and Linner @Bruno's or Brunch and explore their additional menu options. It was a wonderful discovery and delight. Thank you.

We adore Brunos. It is in Santa Monica within walking distance to cool things to do after dinner, you can just take a walk, go to the Santa Monica Pier or stop for a drink. Parking can be a pain so get ready for that. All of their food is quite tasty. My favorite is their lasagna and any of their pizzas. They are all fresh and in the red sauce they use is amazing. This time we picked up to take home. It was ready when we got there and still warm when we got home. It is a super cute place and we will eat there next time. Have fun.

No room to sit. The other seats are for "customers only".

Came for the @barcrawlnation bar crawl and they didn't have room for everyone. I paid extra for VIP and could t even sit. Poor planning.

The pasta was easily some of the best we've had outside of Italy -- simple, authentic, and executed at a very high level. It genuinely felt like being transported back to Italy. Every dish was balanced, fresh, and memorable. Our server, Kiara, delivered exceptional hospitality. She made us feel welcome, relaxed, and genuinely taken care of the entire evening. She's a great example of how service should be done. We enjoyed it so much that we were recommending the restaurant to people on our way out. There was a situation during our visit that concerned me at the time. I won't go into details here, but what matters most is how it was handled. Shortly after, I was contacted directly by the regional manager. He had already reviewed the situation internally and addressed it promptly. Our conversation was thoughtful, professional, and focused on doing the right thing. What stood out most is their philosophy: they're not just in the business of serving pasta -- they're in the business of taking care of people. That clearly extends to both their guests and their team. That level of accountability and leadership is rare, and it turned a great experience into one that I respect even more. Kiara absolutely represents the standard they aim for, and we'll definitely be back.

The staff is great, and the menu offers a nice variety of dishes. Some favorites are the mushroom pizza, boar ragù, sole, and branzino. We often bring out-of-town guests here because of the convenient location and their ability to accommodate larger parties. Our favorite table when dining with friends is the one immediately to the left when you enter- it's more tucked away from the rest of the restaurant, making it cozy, more intimate, and easier to have conversations. Dinner typically requires a reservation unless you arrive early, and it's much livelier than lunchtime. The wine recommendations are always excellent, and it's a great spot for a relaxed, leisurely meal. They strike the perfect balance between a polished dining experience and attentive service. We usually sit inside, but now that we have a puppy, we're looking forward to enjoying their patio on our next visit. Parking is easy- if meters aren't available, there's plenty of parking on nearby residential side streets (just pay attention to the signs). It's also a great area to walk around afterward for dessert or coffee.

However, I finally gave in after a co-worker took someone special for dinner here, and they had a wonderful time. Checking out their menu, I enjoyed the fact they had decent lunch selections, but appreciated that their happy hour had a ton of options, and is currently from 2p-6p which is generous. I had a couple things I wanted to try, so I headed on over. Parking on 16th street (a residential area so read the signs for street cleaning, etc.), it was a short walk over into an empty restaurant. I almost wondered if I had the hours incorrect but then a lady came out and let me sit at the bar as she brought over the menus. There is also an extensive wine list if you're a wine drinker but I'm here for the food. I started with the Chitarra "Cacio E Pepe" ($14) and then ended up adding the Chicken Greek ($15). If you want bread, there are at least two paid options which I skipped this visit. The pasta I selected was very good! The portion is smaller for happy hour which makes sense, and was perfect since I was trying it for the first time. This also ensures I will be back at least a second time, it was that enjoyable. The Chicken Greek I didn't enjoy as much, but came with a generous amount of cucumbers which were fresh and crispy. Different tomatoes (red, green, yellow) were also in this with feta cheese, olives, and red onions. I tried a green tomato for the first time, and I will not be trying this again. However I took this to go, reheated it later on and I swear I tasted rosemary (which I really like) so I did end up finishing this later. Still, my next visit will be another pasta, most likely the (beef) bolognese and maybe the basic bread at $7. Service was nice, the hostess was very helpful, and the other customers actually chatted with me which made this an overall nice experience! I look forward to a future happy hour or lunch here at Forma-

The Diavola pizza I ended up choosing was so good--perfect balance of spice, richness, and that classic wood-fired taste. The bolognese was super authentic and just oozing with flavor, and the Caesar salad totally surprised me--in the best way. It had these tiny crunchy crumbs on top that gave it such a unique texture. The bread that came with it was perfectly toasted and honestly my favorite part of the dish. The spicy pomodoro was perfectly al dente and flavorful but it didn't really live up to the hype for me. I couldn't taste any truffle and it wasn't spicy at all. It was still a good pasta, just not life changing. The squid ink mafaldine was unfortunately pretty lackluster. The pasta tasted like al dente salt water, the prawns were overcooked, and it felt like they just threw a handful of raw basil on top and called it a day. The wines were good and paired well with the food but there wasn't anything particularly memorable about them. Service was great. Our server was super attentive and helpful. The Chef's Negroni is a soothing, smoky and somewhat sweet cocktail that starts with cathedral mezcal. I loved it. We ordered a several dishes - and let's start by saying you must try the ricotta. 'Whipped cheese, sea salt' does not do it justice, but it's wonderful and perfect to share. The Beef Tartare is another winner, served with crispy potato and parm. It's pretty huge, and rich, and conveniently cut into pieces for easy sharing. The crunch potato chips on top are a nice finish. A creative take on a classic, purists might wonder what's going on, until they taste it. The Caesar is huge and great to share, too, as well as the Crispy Rhode Island Calamari. These are more in the department of comfortable staples, but are delicious crowdpleasers, nonetheless. Of the entrees we ordered, everyone seemed to like mine the most: Malloreddus (bbef cheek, ragu napoletano, thyme, toscano). It sounded a bit quirky, but inviting. The server gave it a bit thumbs up, so I'm glad to have ventured this way. Served over the small pasta pieces that you can watch being made closer to the front of the restaurant. The Lemon Tagliolini features lobster 'fry diavolo', basil and pistachio. Not too spicy, and the lobster and pasta were perfectly cooked. The cannelloni was perhaps the one entree that, while good, did not rise above 'just fine'. Perhaps the flavors were a bit toned down that night, or maybe overwhelmed by the gorgeous Sorrentina blanket of mozzarella, tomato sauce and basil.
